I am afraid there is very little to commend this hotel, unless you have business in central Nassau - where it is at least a convenient option, and probably better than over city rather than resort hotels. The property itself is impressive, and from the public areas you might think it was a 5* hotel. It featured in one of the early Bond films. Overall, however, I would say that today's experience is that expected of a 3* hotel at best. My room was clean, but functional, with no easy chair, just a bed and a desk (even though it was the highest room grade). I had poor water pressure and only cool water in the shower throughout my stay, and resorted instead to showering at the gym. In room amenities were minimal and service was sporadic (one day my room was not cleaned, even after I chased; pressing the "guest relations" button on the room telephone just led to a dead line). The smoke detector above the bed had bright LED lights which flashed every 2 seconds. The Japanese restaurant in the hotel only opened sporadically, even though the property was full. Multiple other guests complained about poor service, and two other members of my party were kept waiting for their rooms on chcek-in until after 6 pm. In the gym, which is fine if rather smelly, the hand soap and shampoo dispensers went unfilled the whole week I was here. I'm afraid that seemed typical of my whole experience. For my second week, I changed hotel. I would not stay again.

⭐ 4-Star Honest Review My husband and I stayed in Room 541 on my work trip. The hotel has a great location and very good value, and we would stay again. However, the room floor and rug could have been cleaner, and the elevator cable made a knocking noise all night, which made it hard to sleep. I would avoid staying near the elevator next time. We also tried the Mahogany Restaurant. I ordered the Seared Snapper, but the fish didn’t taste fresh. As a fish lover and a chef, I can tell when something isn’t right. My husband ordered chicken, and even he said his chicken tasted like fish. Because of that, we’d stay at the hotel again but skip the restaurant. Overall, friendly atmosphere, convenient location, and good value — just a few areas for improvement.

This is still a really great hotel in the middle of downtown Nassau with great beaches and safe access to downtown shopping and night life. Restaurants and bar are first class and the renovation is lovely. It’s right beside the cruise ship terminal and away from the overpriced hotels on Paradise Island. Love it !!!!

We spent several weeks here. The outdoor staff of Ken, Kevin, Jerome were outstanding. They were friendly, kind and helpful. They deserve a raise for all their hard work! We would like to have more food options in hotel, but plenty were nearby. Overall, we loved the pool, beach and ocean. We had a great time and would come back.

We stopped for a day pass on our cruise. Theo helped us from the moment we arrived. He was so friendly and answered all our questions. He checked in on us a few times and made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Theo made the visit even better than we expected. Great people really do make the experience more enjoyable! The food and servers were great as well. There were a couple of resident cats on the property that visited, and we are all animals lovers. That was a fun surprise!

Some constructive criticism: our room needed a blind on the closet window or a way for the doors to stay closed- the lightening storms lit up our bedroom because of that. The rooms really need a full length mirror and a small make-up mirror. We had to request 20 additional hangers, there were only 5 in the room when we arrived. Despite us being out of the room more the majority of the day, everyday, housekeeping always seemed to come at the end of the day which was annoying, because that was when we wanted to go back to our room. The shower soap dispenser was really hard to use. The music around the pool should be shut off at night, we could hear it all night in our room. The bar/restaurant staff around the pool need some more training. It was day three when we realized they provided service, and they would bring a menu but never come take the order. One day we waited over 90 minutes for one burger. The great stuff: The service from your staff was always amazing (except by the pool) - the best we experienced of everything we did in Nassau, the pools and beaches felt very safe and were super clean. The room was very nice, the linens and towels felt luxurious, we appreciated the sunscreen and water that was available by the pool. Overall we really loved our stay, there were a couple minor things that could be improved but we really enjoyed our stay.

I had two stays here, one night each before and after a boat trip. The rooms, pools, and the access to the beach were nice. However the first time we were here, there was no hair dryer nor water bottles in the room which we just thought were not offered. Room service food delivery came with no utensils (we had a late night arrival). We went to Tamarind for breakfast the next day, and staff didn’t bring water until we asked twice. Second stay: Check in took an hour as there was one staff at front desk handling a long queue, but the staff did confirm hair dryer should be available and it was likely stolen by previous guest in the past stay (but housekeeping didn’t check this or restock water?) Then we ordered room service desserts for a family celebration. Four slices of dessert took two hours to arrive after a follow up call. Overall not impressed with the customer service at all given the scale of this hotel and hope the hotel would make improvements. Kids enjoyed the pools.

Great location! Downtown and 15 minute walk to Fish Fry restaurants. Beach sand could have been cleaner. Plastics and garbage mixed in with sand. Other resorts had staff raking sand. It was nice to have fresh drinking water and sunscreen by the pool. Nice touch. Pool water was not heated so it was colder than the ocean. Overall I would recommend this hotel for the downtown location and classic charm of decor.... however the downtown shuts down when the cruise ships leave at 5PM so there is not much to do after that. You have to leave site.
