5/5 Stars - A Hidden Gem! 🌟 I'm still grinning from ear to ear thinking about my little long stay at Brix Hostel 🤩 The moment I walked in, I knew I was in for a treat. The staff were warm and welcoming, the rooms were spotless, and the vibes were chill. The dorms were cozy and comfortable. I loved the social area, where I met fellow travelers and made lifelong friends. Brix Hostel is perfectly located, within walking distance to the Tram/ Bus Station also supermarkets. The neighborhood was safe and lively, with plenty of restaurants/shops/cafes to explore. I'd highly recommend Brix Hostel to anyone looking for a fun, affordable, and memorable stay in.The Owner of the Hostel were superb Friendly with everyone.

Amazing hostel. Staff and the owner were extremely friendly. Rooms and bathrooms were well kept. Amazing location, short walk from many good food spots and bus stations. Was not offered any free beer to make the review as I didn’t even visit the bar🤣.

We had such an incredible experience at this hostel and would absolutely recommend. Beds were super comfy, and staff was so friendly and helpful. The hostel organized many events at the bar for free drinks/trivia/kareoke and the terrace was so social and fun. The location was great and easy to transit anywhere in the city. The only recommendation we’d ask for is a lock for the womens room and hooks for towels next to the shower stalls so you don’t need to walk through the unlocked bathroom to get your towel after a shower. Brix we loved you so much and can’t wait to come back again!

We stayed at Brix hostel in June 2025. Upon arrival things looked okay. Then we were led up some stairs and to our room. The room we booked was an all female dorm which it was. However, to get to our all female room you had to enter through another room which was a mixed dorm that we feel completely defeated the purpose as the safety we were looking for dissipated as to leave the hostel, use the bathroom or shower you had to walk through this same room. Not only was it full of men. It stank of body odour and cigarettes. It was dark and it was 8 beds to what felt like a 3 by 3 meter room because of the sheer amount of people staying there. Far too many beds in one space. This wasn’t even the room we stayed in. Our room was a six bed room in half the space. It was cramped and dirty and had used glasses and bags piled on the counter of people’s things. All be it, this could be the uncleanliness of other guests, it still heavily affected our stay. The cabins that the beds were in were painted black so dust and grime was very visible. Not so much as a damp cloth had been ran over it in what looked like some time. The whole place was just tired looking. The showers were cramped and there was a lack of space to put your things as of course it felt completely unsafe to try and walk to your room without getting redressed. Not to mention there was only 2 female toilets on our floor for at least 5 rooms. The good reviews you see are probably a result of them offering free beer to anyone that left a 5 star rating. If I were you I’d skip brix hostel.

Great spot. It's cheap, cheerful and easy access to city center. In a great spot, good food options nearby. For what it is, it's perfect. The staff are all excellent, Ayush was particularly helpful.

BED BUGS‼️‼️ Horrible experience. We were a group of 60. All 8 of us in our room got bed bug bites during our stay. The hostel absurdly insists their rooms are clean and claim they “treat bed bugs with chemicals,” denying the issue entirely – which is just dishonest. There was visible dust in our room, especially on the disgusting, uncleaned fans. My boyfriend even found an old, dirty t-shirt from a previous guest in the drawer – clear proof that the room hadn’t been properly cleaned. One room had sperm on the wall next to the bed. When we raised the issue with the manager (or whoever the staff member was), he said the hostel can’t be held responsible for bed bugs because they’re “brought in by guests.” Seriously? It’s your responsibility to provide a clean, safe environment – not blame your guests. I would attach photos of the bites, but they will ban my review, and we send those photos via email to the hostel, so they’ve seen it anyway. Of course we asked for a refund – dealing with bed bugs at home is expensive – and instead of support, they laughed in our faces. Don’t be fooled by their glowing reviews. They offer free beers at the bar in exchange for 5-star ratings. Would never recommend. Save yourself the stress, the bites, and the lies.

I had my first bad experience ever at the Brix hostel. Everything was going well. Two of the guys working at reception were helpful and I am very thankful to them for their assistance and they did a good job. But on Friday, June 6, there was a girl who did her job by the book and that was ok too. She did assist me, however, I didn't like her attitude towards me. It was like she was trying to be clever with me and ironic, which I could not appreciate.||||Later that day, I went back down once more with with my clothes for the laundry. I called her out for her earlier attitude. I had my attitude too like returning the favor. Maybe I was too harsh and I shouldn't have been like that, but I never yelled at her, I never insulted her and let alone touched her.||||Next day, on Saturday, June 7, I couldn't enter the hostel with my key card. Once inside, a guy with long curly hair asked me about what had happened yesterday. He never identified himself, he never said whether he was the manager of Brix hostel or not. ||||I told him what had happened. He said I should've reported that to the manager, however, I did not know who the manager was (I still do not know now). I had no time to do that anyway because the girl's attitude was not that bad as for me to do that.||||Calling her out directly was for me a faster option. The guy with long curly hair then proceeded to tell me that he wanted me out of the hostel right away and he didn't want to hear more from me. He also said that, 'two girls had told him that they saw me jerking off in the room', which I thought it was quite surprising and a big of a coincidence they would come up with something like this just a day after the incident with the reception girl took place. ||||I had never had any issues at any hostel or hotel I've stayed. I've never been thrown out of any accomodation, nor I've been accused of jerking off or things like that. He told me to, 'f*ck off', several times and got close to me like trying to provoke me so that I would react and so he could perhaps have a real reason to call the police or something like that.||||I proceeded to go to the room I was staying at, so I could pack my things. They kicked me out like a dog. Desperately pushing me to leave while I was already packing. I was supposed to stay until Sunday, June 8, so they put me in a very difficult situation. All hostels were full. I was very lucky to find a place to spend the night. ||||They refused to give me a refund, despite the fact their reasons to expell me were unjustified. They kicked me out like I had done something real bad, when I hadn't. I sent them an email on Monday, June 9, asking again for a refund, but they replied that when people are expelled from the hostel, there is no refund. ||||They also wrote they had added my name and contact information to the shared industry data base of "problem guests", so that other hostels and hotels will not accept me as a guest, which I find totally unfair and a threat to my reputation as I have not done anything bad to them or caused any harm to Brix hostel in order to deserve that. ||||Again, I have never had any bad experience at any hostel or hotel in my life, and that can be verified. Regarding the girl at reception, again, I did not insult her nor touched her either. Maybe I shouldn't have said what I said, but what I said does not justify my expulsion at all, let alone adding my name and contact information to the shared industry data base of "problem guests" so that other hotels and hostels will not accept me as a guest. ||||If what they say holds true and their bad unjustified actions become a real threat to me when traveling and trying to find accomodation, this could become a case for legal complaint.

Do not be fooled by the high rating – this hostel is awful. Most of the positive reviews exist because they give out free beer at the bar in exchange for 5-star ratings. We arrived with a large group and were given a room that was absolutely filthy. I’ve never in my life seen so much dust. Walking into the room felt like I was choking, and most of the time all I could think about was leaving. The fans attached to the beds were covered in thick dust and who knows what else – turning them on would have just blown all that grime straight into your face. The sheets were stained and clearly not clean. I wasn’t the only one feeling this way. From the very beginning, I heard complaints from others in our 60-person group about the exact same things – dusty air, dirty rooms, and a complete lack of cleanliness. These complaints came from people staying in at least 7 different rooms, so this clearly wasn’t a one-off case. Our 8-person dorm had bedbugs. One of our friends noticed bites on his neck on the last day. When we brought it up, a staff member told us that if only one person had bites, they couldn’t say for sure it came from them. They said they "disinfect" the beds, but that’s a lie. One of them even admitted that if there are any bedbugs, it’s probably because a guest brought them in – so they basically admit the problem exists, but find any excuse not to take responsibility or refund anyone. A few days after we left, more people from our room – including me – started getting bedbug bites. Now, looking at how much it costs to get rid of this nightmare from your own home, staying at this hostel was absolutely not worth it. It’s not just a bad experience – it turns into a serious and expensive problem even after you leave. The hostel clearly doesn’t care. I saw another review from a woman who had the same issue, and the hostel just blamed her, saying she must have brought the bedbugs in. That’s exactly what they’re saying to us. They take zero responsibility, even though it’s very clear the infestation came from them. They send the same copy-paste replies about pest control and protocols, but it’s just an excuse to avoid doing anything. The problem is real, it’s happening to more people, and they act like it’s not their fault. I know the owner will probably reply to this with a nicely worded message trying to defend the business – but don’t fall for it. It’s just damage control. They respond like this to every negative review, always trying to make it sound like a rare case or blame the guest. Don’t let the polite replies fool you – the issues are real. Avoid this place at all costs

Yelp
I don't even know where to begin! First of all, this hostel is outside of the city center, its about a good 20-30 minute walk (depending on your walking speed) or a 5 minute tram ride which costs 24kc (less than a $1 USD) each way. The neighborhood MAY seem a little sketchy with lots....I mean LOTS of graffitis and some dark areas during the night but we NEVER felt unsafe! The hostel is super cute! It's got multiple floors (we were on the top floor, 4th) so be ready to do some climbing if you get one of the higher floors. Check in was super easy, they provide LOTS of information, maps and brochures. The common area seems to get used a lot with its comfy sofas and a big flat screen which plays movies constantly. The BAR downstairs was our favorite! My husband and I spent MANY hours down there meeting other travelers and the extremely friendly staff here! I'll come back to the staff in a bit. The drinks here are very affordable especially if you just stick to beer! The bar area is HUGE with lots of seating so there are always people hanging out here. They also have an outdoor patio area which we only used once because it was too cold (for me). Our room was the Hemingway room which has a living room (a sofa that turns into a bed as well) and a bedroom with a double bed and private bath. Since we were on the top floor, we had amazing skylight windows! Each floor seems to have its own kitchen area, which we did on our floor but didn't use it since we ate out more. They offer simple breakfast of toast, coffee and tea for 80 kc which we never took advantage of because we prefer having protein with our meals so we would just walk to a cafe that was open (ask a staff member or Yelp it to see whats open!) Back to the staff....we met soooooo many wonderful people here, both travelers and staff, that made this trip here so much more memorable! Greg, Neil, Alexis (sp?) and so many more! I can't begin to express how WONDERFUL each one of them are! Around the time we arrived, they city had a light festival going on so Neil took us on free walking tour after we spent hours at the bar with Greg. And this was just on the first night we arrived! I would absolutely recommend this to all my other traveler friends and to anyone who wants a true social hostel in an amazing city!

Yelp
Pros: -Very modern and clean. -The downstairs bar was inviting and I was glad they had an affordable breakfast in the morning and happy hour at night. -Thank god for the standing fan in our room. There's no AC but that fan was a lifesaver. Our hostel in Berlin didn't even give us a fan. -Laundry service... they do it for you and they do a good job at a fair price. -Good security -Helpful staff and fun activities Meh: -Location. 30 minutes walk to touristy areas or a five minute walk (up very steep hills) to a metro. The metro is cheap and fast. However, if you want to be in the heart of the action, stay elsewhere. Cons: -Our room, the Virginia Woolf, was near the kitchen and extremely loud at night. The walls are thin. -I didn't expect an elevator but those stairs would be tough on someone with more limited mobility. Suggestions for improvement: -The bathroom in Virginia Woolf would be so much better if you added towel hooks, a toilet paper dispenser, and a little shelf.

Yelp
I found this gem through Trip Advisor and Google. I walked in and they found a place to stay right away. This place was a heaven send. They have a atmosphere of family and love. The staff are knowledgeable and care about making sure that you love Prague the way they do. This city was special to me and Brix was a major reason for my deep love for the connection. I checked in and Lex was very welcoming and accommodating. She was willing to help out with my questions getting around the city, food, and currency exchange. The living quarters were comfortable and exceptionally clean. No matter where I am in Prague, I will be back here just to hangout and spend time with the family here. I love that people always hangout at the bar and others just sit on the couch watching Netflix shows. Highly recommend. The only downside I have is that they just gave me tooooo many recommendations for places to see :) kidding. too dope of a place
