Second time we stayed here. |Owners are wonderful and extremely helpful|The rooms are so clean, everything is cleaned so thoroughly |Internet WiFi |Free parking|Great location with cafes, bars, and restaurants close by|20 minute drive to Hobbiton|Swimming pool is very clean even in the middle of winter||There isn't a single bad thing I can say about this place. ||I asked the owner about the renovations and the rooms were seemingly newer than our last stay and he says that he is constantly renovating and keeping things up to date. Nice to see money goes back into the business, and it really shows.

This was a perfect stay with some amazing little touches that truly made it a great find! Lovely hosts who are so welcoming and can't do enough for you. The room was clean, spacious and the kitchen was well kitted out with everything we needed to prepare something to eat. There was a hot tub, which would have been a great addition to our stay but we sadly ran out of time. Would definitely return and will recommend to any friends/family staying near/near Matamata.

This is such a beautiful place to stay, our room was warm, very clean and comfortable and just minutes down the road from great restaurants. Thank you for your excellent hospitality we will definitely come back and recommend you to our friends 🧡

What a great surprise - looks just like an ordinary motel when entering - but when we saw our room, we were thrilled. We had one of the superior units (No. 4) and it was huge. Two queen size beds, very big room that was decorated beautifully. Felt like a real home away from home. We didn't have kids with us, but if my grandson was there, he'd never want to leave. Huge kids playground with lots of little bikes and scooters. Nice looking pool too. Caravan just across the road with very nice thai food -o they even brought it to our room ! Would definitely stay here again. Bit of road noise, and tiny shower, but the plusses outweigh the minuses !

Centrally located in Matamata with easy access to local attractions and facilities. They have twenty units, standard deluxe and executive - ranging from studios, through to one and two bedroom options. Also they offer free private spa for all guests.

Clean and spacious room . Kids play area , swimming pool. What a relaxing stay.. I will stay same motel for our next visit.

No sound proofing neighbours kept us us most of the night. Room was dirty with spiders and spider webs. Very dated room. No water pressure and only warm water. Definitely not worth the price charged. Bed was comfy enough and room had air conditioning which was good.

This was by far the largest suite we stayed in during our trip and it was so comfortable. The innkeep who runs the place is like a weathered version of Crocodile Dundee and is so lovely and kind. There is a resident cat named Smooch you may run into on the property, and its close enough to walk to the very tiny downtown. Definitely worth the stay!

We have a nice if short stay here prior to a Hobbiton tour. The hot tub was nicely kept, the play area was fun for my boys, and the room was nicely appointed. The staff was pleasant and let us leave our luggage for a while during the tour. Great option for the area.

We are on our way to the evening tour plus dinner in Hobbiton. We found this motel to stay the night, since we are going to continue to Rotorua tomorrow. This motel is super clean. The beddings are nice, the beds very comfy. Decors are modern and so nice! Lightings generously brights. All is good here. Worth the money I paid. NZ $140 a night for 2 beds room fit 4 people. Close to eateries and cafes.
