This is such a beautiful theater, old style vintage decor with beautiful ceiling & chandeliers. We sat in orchestra third row on the left the view was great. The seating have leg room & they are very comfortable. Also, the sound in the theater is really good. You can buy souvenirs by the stand on the main level. There are bathrooms on the basement & there is multiple bars one in the main level & another in the basement. All the staff are helpful and friendly! We saw The Great Gastby which was a phenomenal show! I totally recommend it!

I had five days to vacation in New York; I planned to end it with a Broadway Show. Purchased my tickets from Ticketmaster ahead of time for The Great Gatsby performance. The Broadway Theater IS on Broadway Street and seemingly one of the oldest theaters in New York. Entering and finding my seat was as smooth as exiting back out. The interior elegance seemed to be intact from the older years. Fortunately for me, it was just one block - 5 minutes walk - from the Sheraton Times Square hotel where I stayed. I suggest purchasing tickets in advance, and if possible, get a pricier tickets upstairs balcony first row, otherwise half of your view of the stage will be covered by the head of the person sitting in front of you.

3 out of 5 stars I saw The Great Gatsby at the Broadway Theatre today, having read the novel and seen the film adaptations. I was curious how the story would translate to the stage -- and while there were strong creative elements, the overall experience was mixed. Visually, the production is a standout. The set design, costumes, lighting, and transitions between scenes were all beautifully done and captured the energy of the Roaring Twenties. The music was lively and atmospheric, and most of the performances were solid. However, the focus of the story felt oddly distributed. For a show titled The Great Gatsby, Gatsby himself was surprisingly sidelined, making the emotional core of the story feel somewhat muted. The Broadway Theatre itself has a classic charm with an impressive central chandelier, but the logistics were disappointing. Entry was disorganized, ushers were hard to find, and the seating was extremely cramped. As an average-sized person, I found myself physically uncomfortable by the end -- numb feet, knees, and back made it hard to stay fully engaged. Overall, it's an entertaining and visually polished production that modernizes the classic story in crowd-pleasing ways, but it may leave fans of the original novel wishing for a bit more narrative depth -- and a lot more legroom.

At Broadway Theatre to see the Great Gatsby, great show, great seats. Microphone sounds were mostly okay. Clean bathrooms. Pretty chandeliers. Yes, I am trying to make the word count here, what else is there to say.

Went to see the Great Gatsby. Ushers were very friendly and very aware of people trying to use cell phones during the show which we appreciated. Our seats were in the mezzanine and it was a bit hard to see over the heads of people in front of us, but overall a good view. Beautiful decor inside too!

We were sitting in Orcho! Step back into the 1920s, the great gatsby brings back big broadway! It’s thrilling to see these indelible characters and iconic moments from the novel come to life on stage.

Google
Saw The Great Gatsby here with Sarah Hyland which was a 5 star show!!! Theater is beautiful but seats are incredibly small. However, the plus is all of the seats are an incredible view! Definitely recommend Mezzanine for Gatsby!

I saw The Great Gatsby at the Broadway Theatre and was absolutely amazed. From the very first scene, I was pulled into the magic of the show—the music, the energy, the visual spectacle—it was all incredible. The cast was phenomenal, especially Gatsby and Daisy. Their chemistry and emotional depth made the story hit even harder. The stage design and lighting were stunning, and every musical number felt like a showstopper. It’s rare to see a production that balances such grand visuals with a strong, emotional story, but this one nailed it. The Broadway Theatre itself added to the experience—beautiful space, great atmosphere, and flawless acoustics. I left the theater completely inspired. One of the best shows I’ve ever seen—highly recommend it!

Yelp
I saw Great Gatsby last Saturday for their 8pm show. I did rush tickets from the theater the day of (got in line at 9:30am for the box office to open at 10am). We got decent upper mezzanine seats for $40 each. Security was fast, seats were spacious enough. As it relates to the show, the Great Gatsby on Broadway was a visual spectacle-stunning sets, dazzling costumes, and an immersive 1920s vibe. Sarah Hyland was charming as Daisy, but overall, the show lacked the emotional depth of the book. While entertaining, it didn't capture the heart and deeper elements of the story. Although it's been awhile since I read the book in high school, I'm reminded of the exploration of the American dream, class/social status, gender roles, and hedonistic culture of the roaring 20s. It was still a good experience for $40 a ticket, but I would just manage expectations

Yelp
Just watched Great Gatsby here. It's a smaller theater than most, but it's very clean and comfortable inside. Spacious bathrooms that weren't too crowded. Small merch purchasing areas and food vendors (both stationary and mobile) are available. They strangely don't have security checks here. Staff weren't as friendly as other theaters though.

Yelp
I was an hour late, to the show attempting to atleast see half of it as my last day in newyork, I dropped everything to make my way there to even get a ticket as it was not sold out. When I arrived I was immediately ran sacked by a man that watches the stairs, and explained to him I missed my flight, I leave tomorrow so there's no way I can reschedule a ticket and even asked to buy a ticket to watch half of the show. Or even stand in the hall just to watch being a drama student. I was denied everything, not a word of help. Just "its broadway" No you cannot buy a ticket, you can't have access at all. Even asked to stand in the hall to see I was told no you can't stand in the hall for the last half of the show at all even though it was not sold out. Simply just leave, "I don't care that you love art and are a drama student and even made your way here from a missed flight leave" simply told "it's broadway" by a doorman. Was interested in seeing the show even in the hall or any way possible. But now I have no reservations on seeing or going or reccomending this theatre or even broadway at all. Horrible horrible experience. Simply a drama student who was able to arrive moments late. And received no help. Wasn't even declined entrance respectfully Even arrived during intermission. And this is my broadway experience. Enjoy However I don't recommend going back. Amazing show I assume, but horrible treatment by doorman, staff persuaded me to hate broadway Thank you

Yelp
Went to my first show on Broadway and it was well worth the money! We had pretty good seats for a Saturday night show and the show was great. I always thought the theatres on Browadway would be super big and grandiose but this felt like a local Theater. Nothing wrong with that but just my expectations were different. It was way more cozy! The singers were good but Mr. Gatsby aka Ryan McCarya was outstanding. Who knew Diggy could sing like that?!? It was honestly such a great show. Once in a lifetime experience for sure.

Yelp
Came to this theater for the first time last night to see the great gatsby. The show itself was amazing. Highly recommend seeing it if you enjoyed the book or movie. Lots of singing, lots of dancing and beautiful sets. Our tickets were $200 each and in a pretty decent section. The theater itself was nice. I felt like the workers there kept everything as organized as possible. Bathrooms were downstairs as well as as bar for drinks and snacks. Another bar was on the main level. There was an area for souvenirs and gifts from the show too. Be aware as 2 drinks can be $68 - but least you get a memorial cup to take home lol. Overall it was a great evening for a wonderful show.

Yelp
Got the pleasure of seeing The Great Gatsby here. The cast did a phenomenal job. The theatre is beautiful. The staff were friendly but very strict which kept things running in an organized fashion. The tickets are worth the prices because it's a lovely experience however the snacks and drinks are priced outrageously. .

Yelp
Returned to the beautiful Broadway Theater, in order to enjoy The Great Gatsby, again! This musical has class, elegance, opulence, award winning singing, renowned performers, and an amazing production. I'll never get enough of it and WILL experience it, over and over! If you enjoyed the 2013 movie, the musical will add to the greatness of this story and masterful adaptation.

Yelp
Came recently at Broadway Theatre for The Great Gatsby. A beautiful performance but the theater experience left a bit to be desired. I can't quite remember if I've ever been to this theater before for other musicals or plays. People were taking photos on the stairs and it did look beautifully designed. (To me, while I appreciate the beauty and detail, all theaters are pretty similar in that type of architecture and atmosphere.) The people at the door couldn't crack a smile for their lives. We came in a bit early and asked which side of the theater we would need to go through to get to our Orchestra seats. One of the ushers ended up guiding us to the wrong door (not a huge deal, as it was just one door over to the left). The seats are standard Broadway theater seats - SMALL-ish, but reasonably comfortable. I did very much appreciate the proper downslope of the theater floor that truly does allow you to see the stage very clearly and properly from virtually (more or less) any row. During intermission, for the restroom, the staff turned into drill sergeants ordering / guiding people around in a lineup that moves quite quickly, so I appreciated that as well. Now... let's talk about the theater concession stand, particularly the drinks. I'm not entirely sure just how many ounces they were, but my sister got one of the mixed drinks and I got a wine. She paid a whopping EIGHTY DOLLARS. For TWO drinks. Dude. I BEG YOUR PARDON?!?!?! What in the Thespian heck is going on with such prices??? I was SHOOKETH. Again, they definitely were LARGE, bigger than the usual (smaller) cup, which to me, would be the equivalent of a small deli cup of coffee. So I would say MEDIUM size (see photo). Still, that put me off almost entirely. But it at least was enjoyable FWIW. Again, the show was a delight and this isn't a reflection on the cast and crew at all. (There wasn't ever a Broadway show I did not love.) And I will never bitch about the price of the tickets; but the price of their drinks / merch?! Absolutely outrageous!

Yelp
A good theater. It was definitely the right stage for the great Gatsby play bill. I did have box seats in the upper row, and I was kind of upset that it wasn't sectioned off. It really took away from the experience. But there's only so much they can do to alter these old theaters. The least they could've done was put a rope in front of our chairs to make us feel extra special. Snack options were pretty scarce at this location. I definitely wanted a couple more salty options, but it is what it was.

Yelp
I came with my school to see the great Gatsby today and the show was amazing. The reason i had to give 3 stars was because of the unreasonable attitude of the people assisting the seating within the theatre and during the show. They were incredibly rude and disrespectful saying "absolutely not" to simple questions. saying "i work here so i know" to a question about seating and even during the show a woman came up to us while we were seated with out teacher and rudely told us to stop talking even though we weren't even talking and our teacher even confirmed with us we were not speaking. this is so unexpected and rude.

Yelp
Very organized and fast security check. Very helpful security personnel and ushers. Good view and comfortable seats even from rear mezzanine. Amazing show and cast! Meeting cast members at the end of the show was the highlight. Memorable and priceless moment!

Yelp
Well my expectations was met but quite frankly this is for kids! The actors are great singers and performers but something was missing for me. If you have not ever seen a broadway show do it but maybe start with more adult ones! Overall it was well organized and the theater was historic!

Yelp
It is imperative to see the difference in theatrical quality and production value of a Broadway show versus all other competitors, local, far, and international; against which you will see there is almost never a competitive comparison. The only thing that could make the shows better, from my estimation, is more accessibility when it comes to pricing. Let's be frank - for those not so inclined toward the arts, shelling over a few hundred bucks for yourself and a date for a minimum 2.5 hour commitment, which is subject to not only vary but not appeal to a large swathe of demographics - is preposterous and only serves to further narrow and define the nature of arts and patrons thereof. The highly convoluted, sometimes bizarre roundabout system as-is in which to acquire discounts is highly off-putting; all the more so to someone who isn't already ensconced or immersed in the arts. Recommendations: Try gathering information on how to acquire these deals at least 2 months in advance of your New York trip, and monitor dates of opening and sales carefully. It's tricky, but if you're in charge of your party, you'll be amazed at how much can be saved. All the same, book at least one show in advance, even if you must pay full or near full price, as some of the methods with which to acquire a discounted ticket are not guaranteed. For a 3 night trip in Manhattan, I had booked one show in advance (Great Gatsby), and then proceeded to utilize discount methods (lottery for Michael Jackson and showing up to the box office right at time of opening for Chicago) to nab tickets to 2 other shows. Good luck!

Yelp
Broadway Theatre is right in the middle of Theater District, just a few blocks up from Times Square Central. Right on Broadway between 52nd & 53rd Streets. This past Sunday night, I made my way uptown from my hotel early in the evening. I've walked up and down Broadway before but don't remember ever watching a show at this venue before. It was my first time to Broadway Theatre. It's a pretty historic theatre but got a major facelift to showcase a very interactive musical called "Here Lies Love". What's different about this theatre is that the entire Orchestra Floor has been transformed to a disco nightclub scene similar to Studio 54. That section became Standing Room Only with prices at a premium because you are the closest to the main stage with very close up views of all the actors and actresses. Personally, I don't prefer standing at a musical or concert. But the closest seats were side view seats just above the floor. With a Front Mezzanine and a Rear Mezzanine up in the risers. I was lucky to win a lottery ticket for Rear Mezzanine which wasn't the best view, but with multiple screens throughout the theater, you're able to see a close ups from here. If you're familiar with Lea Salonga, she made an appearance up until August 19, so I just missed her by one day. The concession stand and restrooms are on the 2nd floor and to get into the Mezzanine, you'd have to climb up to the 3rd floor. I don't recall seeing merchandise sold after the show was over, nor did I have an alcoholic beverage before showtime. Luckily I'm able to get to NYC pretty often that I hope to see this again with a closer seat and a better view of all the performers on stage!

Yelp
Words cannot fully express what an amazing performance this was. I was able to see the great Jeremy Jordon before his time with The Great Gatsby comes to an end and I was in complete awe. The incredible sets, the talent, the experience was everything that I could have ever dreamt it would be. I was in tears most of the show just at the sheer brilliance of every moment. Worth every penny!

Yelp
My very first Broadway musical, located in the Times Square area! So much to see just on one block and from where I'm standing I can see Times Square and so much more! Visiting this theatre was everything that I imagined. We arrived early and waited in the front. We pre-purchased our tickets, but they let people in 45 minutes prior to the show only. If you need to purchase tickets beforehand you're allowed to the window but would have to wait back outside. Right at 45 minutes prior to the show, the doors opened and we were lead to our seating area in the lobby. You will have to wait again because they don't let people in the actual theatre until 30 minutes prior to showing. When it was time, sat on one side of the mezzanine, in row T and could view everything very clearly. The theatre was very clean, full of character and charm. The lights were red to resemble the disco theme musical and the sound was fabulous. Our tickets were about $100 each and we were happy with our purchase. This musical was fabulous, the cast and crew did an amazing job! I loved the crowd interaction and the stage transition. I say everything was fabulous!

Yelp
Not sure if I'd been to this theater before but happy to be here. Location is perfect, just across the street of E train's 7th Ave stop. The admission processing is quick, easy and on time. Each floor has plenty of restroom stalls since I used different floor before and after the show. The theater decor and lighting are splendid, showing a classic NY vibes. The seat is roomy, loved it whenever there is a space in front of my legs for my pocketbook. The sound is audible as performances were greatly enjoyed. Last but not least, loved the proximity of our seats to Here Lies Love stage because of an incredibly stage design. Had an incredible view of the performers. The theater and play deserved the highest possible rating for this review.

Yelp
Came here to watch The Great Gatsby, theater is very quaint and beautiful! Quite a bit of legroom which I appreciated, and the seats were quite comfortable. Easy to access, conveniently right across from the subway and a bit off Broadway / Times Square craziness.
google avatar

Yelp
I visited for the musical Here Lies Love . Hard to tell what the theater is like for regular shows because this play was very unique with a dance floor and standing room tickets in addition to seating from a higher level looking down to the stages and dance floor. Staff was professional and friendly. The play was an interesting upbeat performance about a somewhat serious subject and story of Imelda Marcos.

Yelp
Opened in 1924, the theater was designed by Eugene De Rosa for Benjamin S. Moss, who originally operated the venue as a movie theater. It has approximately 1,763 seats across two levels. The Broadway Theatre is one of the few Broadway theaters that is physically on Broadway. The modern facade of the theater (which has its own address at 1681 Broadway) is part of the 1675 Broadway office building, that actually is built around and over the theatre, was completed in 1990. The bathroom lines, notoriously slow in older Broadway theatres, actually moved quite well here. And the bar lines moved rather quickly too. My only complaint was I found my mezzanine seat had very little leg room (I'm 6'3").
google avatar

Katie H.

Yelp
We saw the Great Gatsby - Remarkable talent from singing to props! I enjoyed the venue as it doesn't seem there is a bad seat, but don't be astounded by the beauty of the theatre bc I'd say it's subpar. I also wouldn't recommend buying drinks as they are $35 a pop & they give it to you in a weird coffee cup.. which I'm assuming it's to reduce spills as the seats do not have drink holders but it was just very odd. Overall, I'd still recommend going for the show!

Yelp
This is my third time going to this theatre. Every time that I went, it was a really different experience. Especially when they changed up the entire setup of the seating arrangements for the show, Here Lies Love. The platform moved around, and there were different stages set up for the performers as well. The audience can either sit floorside, stand floorside right by the performers and the stage, be front mezzanine, or be in the rear mezzanine. I entered the lottery and was able to get a rear mezzanine. I think each seating area has a different perspective and experience. There's no bad seat in the house.

Yelp
They robbed me . Most dishonest therefore I have ever been to . They sold a ticket to my neighbour for 90 dollars a minutes after they charged me 195.00 for the same ticket . Unfortunately I bought three tickets . I went to box office to ask for a price adjustment and they lied to me constantly . They are absolutely dishonest people as all the box office e people as well as manager lied about it . Be ware . I showed them all correct paperwork and grey said that the lady next to me who was only charged 90 sis not get it form them . The manager said that the lady who got the ticket for 90 - she brought it from TKTS. All blatant lies as I was able to prove to them that they sold it to the lady . They are horrible and could care less about the theater goer . They are evil

Yelp
Saw The Little Prince on a Tuesday night. The theater was half empty. The $69 tickets for Rear mezzanine, Row A seats 111 & 113 were a good deal for the seats. Better to watch aerial performances from the top, not orchestra. Seats in Front mezzanine, center, were the best spots in the theater, but were obviously expensive. Visit the box office to buy tickets without any useless fees that you have to pay if purchasing tickets online. The show was underwhelming. Not many spectacular moments, which I was expecting. Some scenes were touching (no spoilers!), while some were too drawn out. The ending was lovely--imbuing the audience with hope and optimism. Bring a jacket, the theater gets cold during the second act.

Yelp
I love this theater. I've seen several productions and love the space between seats and the location. the Great Gatsby was a wonderful production ( June 2024)

Yelp
Absolutely loved this place !! came to see lion king and it was 10/10 ! the cast , effects , orchestra etc was amazing ! worth every penny

Yelp
Come to see a show here is you want to pay full asking price to be treated rudely upon arrival. This is why there is a no refund policy.

Yelp
I've been to this theatre a few times and was lucky enough to see West Side Story this time! WSS has always been one of my fave movies and was really excited to see this modern version. Although I enjoyed this version, it may have been a tad bit too modern for me. I miss the 1950s costumes and vibe. Also, there is a giant screen in the back of the stage, which I thought was really innovative (at first), but then found it quite distracting. At times, I felt like I was watching a movie and not live theatre. I hear there will be a new WSS movie coming out in Dec 2020...hope I won't be disappointed! For me, it will be hard to beat the original 1957 film. The Broadway Theatre itself is quite grand and lovely! This is one of the bigger Broadway theatres and has a huge stage. It may be an overwhelming space for some productions but it was perfect for WSS. I was seated in Orchestra Right, and there was plenty of leg room. Ushers were pleasant, friendly and helpful. Beautiful theatre!

Yelp
Seriosuly a must when traveling to New York City. I had the best time seeing A Bronx Tale with my very Italian family. The best part of New York is the culture and the arts. I want to see the Lion King next!

Yelp
Broadway is great and when I'm in NYC, seeing any show becomes an obsession. I came here to see King Kong and the theater itself was very comfortable. The ushers seemed a little off in their attitudes (I've lived here.. it's not the "NY" charm I'm talking about here), so I'm knocking a point off because of that. It was seriously off-putting. While I loved the special effects, I wouldn't recommend King Kong itself. It seems that you either love it or hate it. I won't say I hated it, I'll just say I wasn't in love with it. They did allow pictures of King Kong during the curtain call which was neat. If you do go and see the show, just remember, you're going for the special effects. I warned ya!

Yelp
I love the theatre experience. It's been so long since I watched a New York broadway show.

Yelp
I attended this show on July 7 and it was the first time since my 10-year-old has been diagnosed with type one diabetes, we were discriminated against at a Broadway theater. The security team refused us of bringing juice and snacks into the theater because they had a strict no food policy unless you purchase it there. I tried to explain to them the situation and why it was important that she had these things and how the snacks that they offered were not appropriate for her, but they did not want to hear it and were very obnoxious and rude to us. They ended up putting the few little things that I brought for her on the floor and told us that we could leave the show and come outside to treat highs and lows, and then go back which would be ridiculous and not practical. They made my daughter feel like an outcast, and she's never felt that before. We always try to make her feel included and that her disability does not define her and unfortunately this situation made her feel much differently. I am writing this in hopes it never happens to someone else that's a Type 1 diabetic that enters that theater. It was a very upsetting situation for us, and as I stated before, the first time anyone has ever treated her like this usually we've had very positive reactions. I do not recommend this theater to anyone.

Yelp
We always love visiting this theatre, it is very comfortable and offers a wonderful venue for any broadway show. We were able to get right in as usual without having to stand out on the street for an extended period of time. We typically dress up for the theatre as it seems more appropriate to do so, unfortunately there is still a large population that does not. The show was great, unfortunately the family in the seats next to us added quite a distraction with the kids cell phone usage, bouncing around in the chairs and conversations with their mother during the show. We paid good money to see the show and did not appreciate that. We will return to this theatre in the future. Cheers!!

Yelp
Such A Magnificent Theatre. One of the very few grand dames whose entrance is on Broadway. Built back in 1924, striking is its architecture and opulent is its Italian Renaissance styled interior is this icon! In awe of the hugeness of the house and stage. Granted their orchestra rows of seats are very narrow, this theatre is perfect for big productions with fantastic sight lines and incredible acoustics! Presently, the theatre is hosting "Rocktopia", a fun journey of rock songs of the past century. Yet, it is with "Miss Saigon" and "Fiddler on the Roof" that I have the most fond memories with this theatre! CHEERS!

Yelp
A Dream come true after many years and what a way to make it happen with King Kong ! Broadway lived up to its reputation with its grandeur and exquisite ambience . The beautiful chandeliers and decor keeps you in awe. You walk in to the snack and drink counter on level 1 , flanked by beautiful flight of stairs on either side. One leading up to the mezzanine floor and the other down to the basement. The rest rooms are in the basement with a 2nd snack counter too. The snack counter had water. soda , wine , beer , hard liquor , Pringle and Nuts. I was looking forward to Popcorn but was disappointed as they don't sell it. They sell water and snacks inside the theatre pre show and during the interval We were on the mezzanine floor and the view was perfect. At the end of the show when the artists come close to end of the stage , especially King Kong , makes you feel it may have been worthwhile to splurge on the front row orchestra seats. The only negative that I can mention is the no cushion seating which was quite uncomfortable for a 2 hour show. If you plan to book online don't do it on the broadway website as they add a $39 service charge per ticket . Instead go to telecharge.com as they only levy a $5 service charge and also offer the option to buy prepay for a discounted parking garage ticket. Now let me cut to chase and talk about the show.... An exhilarating musical coupled with the perfect props , stunning performance by all artists making it a treat to watch. The highlight of the show was the life size King Kong and the artists managing his movements so effortlessly. The show overall was fast paced, never a dull moment, had the needed humor and comic timing which keeps you engrossed throughout the show. Kids had a blast watching every scene where King Kong appeared. His roar and facial expressions were was so realistic which makes you want more of him! There is something magical about Broadway and the only way to experience it is by being there! Pick your favorite show and book your tickets ...

Yelp
This is a lovely theater with a large stage, which may be the reason West Side Story is playing here. In a very innovative stage setting, the production is projected onto the stage during the actors' performances. This is very effective at times but can also be distracting, since the huge projections of the actors tend to overpower the small size of the actors (in comparison to their projected views). I absolutely loved West Side Story. The choreography is intense and new, the original songs remain beautifully unchanged. I scored a last minute ticket in center Orchestra J, a very good seat to be in, and much to my surprise, a friend happened to be ushering the day I went. What a happy coincidence. It was almost as if this former New Yorker had never left the city. Of course, I bought a tshirt to add to my collection, and happily hummed "Something's Coming" on my way out of the theatre. This was a wonderful highlight of my vacation back to my old home town.

Yelp
Yelp Miss Saigon Night! Saw a great show here in a beautiful theater. This place is huge! Plenty of seating and it was packed. Nicely restored and maintained. I felt the staff was helpful and friendly. Clean bathrooms and alcohol/snack bars on both upper and lower levels. From our vantage point the sight lines were ok, and the sound system was good but could have been brought up a bit louder. At certain times the volume felt a bit low. Could be because the place is huge and the acoustics get eaten up here. Oh, and as per most older theaters the seating is a bit tight and cramped in the mezzanine level. Seats were comfortable though. What's cool is that the bathrooms are on this level so we had easy access to them during intermission.

Yelp
Heterosexual, white male, married, older, from the midwest, self-employed... Broadway marketing execs are rolling their eyes and laughing. "NEXT!" No way this guy likes much on Broadway, skip on to the next group to target. But yea, yea, I may be from the wrong demographic but here to proclaim for all the world I'm a hopeless sucker for a good Broadway musical. There, I said it. "Hello, my name is Scott and I like Broadway musicals." Group response: "Hello, Scott." In town for a few days, had nothing scheduled on a Saturday but some food and drink exploration and over mid-morning coffee asked ourselves, "hey, why not catch a matinee in a few hours?" Night before we caught Book of Mormon. See, there's a market for a guy like me, and I have disposable income. 2-3 hours later we're privately howling at how GOOD King Kong was. The acting, dancing, the singing, the story line, the set design, the special effects, the music, the puppetry. This is ridiculously good. And the theater, well, it's a slice of Broadway history and I adore a place like this. Seats possibly a bit worn but comfortable, plenty of space, easy to find the toities between acts. Oh, and really liked the folks at the entrance when we were entering and gathering will call tickets. First rate. Someone should compliment them: I just did. Yep, we'd come here again at the drop of a hat, glad we did. Very highly recommended. P.S. I also like moonlight walks on the beach, holding hands, romantic movies, choral concerts and ice skating. In a city where it's easy to drop a lot of money on a wide variety of entertainment, this was money very well spent.

Yelp
Classic theatre on Broadway. We went to see King Kong, what a wonderful show. The production was wonderful. But this a review of the theatre. Old school New York theatre. Not a bad seat in the house. The seats are a little cramped but the seats were put in when people weren't so out of shape. Th ushers were friendly and on top of there jobs. I had a couple of jackasses who thought they could record the show they were asked nicely and discreetly to stop. This happened twice. People, please when the announcement is made, for no photos and recording during the show it is rude to the people around you ,don't be so selfish. There was an announcement before the start of the performance that you could snap photo and video during curtain call. Great experience though. Bravo.

Yelp
King Kong was an absolutely excellent show! We had seats on the left side of the orchestra and they offered great sightlines for the show. The stage looked great from our vantage point. The theatre itself is pretty nice in general. Sure the leg room is limited if you're very tall like one of my companions to see this show, but this is not exceptional for the New York theatre scene, in fact I think the spacing was better than for some of the other venues we visited on my most recent trip. The bathrooms were good and lines weren't bad when I visited them (I visited before and after the show), though they did involve going down stairs. I was pretty pleased in general with my theatre going experience here and was pretty pleased with the show.

Yelp
Grand old theatre with some steep steps. Not sure if there was an elevator, if there were, it was nicely hidden. Seats were comfortable considering its an old theatre. I sat in rear mezz and considering the location, I had a Pretty good vantage pt and the sound system/acoustics was pretty good too. Some of the old bdway theatre seats are as uncomfortable and cramped like some airline seats, but these were tolerable akin to jetblue seats.

Yelp
Went to watch King Kong and it was AMAZING!! But this isn't a review for shows, it's a review for the theatre, ha. For the most part had a great experience at the theatre itself, but for the price I paid for the tickets, I think the closeness between the rows of seats are ridiculous. Do ridiculous that it's actually kind of just comical. I'm only 5' 2" and my knees basically touched the seats in front of me. It's actually hard to even get in the row to your seat. If you are in the middle of your row, just make sure you use the bathroom before you sit down and don't drink anything during the show. I wanted a coffee because I went to the matinee and I was also freezing. Well you can only get coffee downstairs and you can NOT bring it to your seat because, well because it's a hot drink? I mean I get being cautious with hot stuff and with the seats so close together, maybe that's why they don't allow you hot drinks in the theatre, but I'm an adult and I spent $5 for a single serve cup of coffee, I think I should be allowed to bring it to my seat LOL. Staff is very, very friendly and theatre is clean. Luckily I came during the day and it wasn't crowded so I didn't have to worry being crammed like a sardine and had no one sitting on either side of me.

Yelp
Very beautiful decor and ambiance. I would suggest the front mezzanine seating for full stage view. The show: is amazing!! The puppeteers for Kong are amazing. The realism of his face is astonishing. The lead actresses voice is amazing!!!

Yelp
Every single employee was friendly and helpful which always makes for a nice day out. The venue is your quintessential NYC theatre, beautiful chandeliers, marbled staircases, old (but well cared for) red vintage carpet. We had rear mezzanine seats and as big as the theatre is still had a good view of the stage.

Yelp
I believe it was my first time here to see West Side Story. The overall space feels less cramped than the usual Broadway theater (still tight but not as tight as the others). I was impressed at how the ushers took their time to take you all the way to your seat instead of just gesturing. I was in the front rows which are a bit sunk below the stage and don't allow you to see the footwork, but good to see the expressions and up-close sweat and blood.

Yelp
Beautiful establishment...with an old New York feel. The seats were comfortable and it seemed that all views were pretty good as we walked around and explored the seating areaas. The bathrooms were clean and the staff were helpful and friendly. The location is perfect, on Broadway, if you want to grab a bite before or after your show. We loved it!

Yelp
The broadway theater is one of the iconic broadway theater's in the times square area. One of the larger theaters it can house one of the big production musicals as it has a large stage. You'll have orchestra seating and the upper balcony. Sight lines are great at any seat to view the stage and the acoustics is wonderful to hear a musical. They have ample areas in the basement level for a bar/merchandise area and bathrooms. You really feel the history of the theater as you see the wonderful large chanderlier in the main theater that wows. Great theater to watch a show in.

Yelp
THIS IS A MUST SEE!!! By far one of the best productions and stage performances I've seen on Broadway. Nothing amounts the the impact on King Kong. You can see and feel every emotion. The choreography is takes up the whole stage. And the best part about it, when Kong interacts with the audience. I was not expecting Kong to be as detailed and HUGE as he was !!!! Keep this on and going on Broadway!! Love it!!! I would most definitely see it again! Great for families with boys of any age!! At one point it feels like you're in a video game.
