"Broccos’s claim to fame is that Picasso once stayed here! It’s a compact place, overlooking a park, and has plenty of style and individuality, albeit set by a roundabout. Bedrooms have a chic modern feel courtesy of light colour schemes, quality furnishings and great attention to detail." - Tablet Hotels

We stayed in night jars nest earlier this month with my wife and 2 children. On arrival we recieved a very warm welcome. The receptionist helped us with our bags and cots were provided for the kids. The staff were incredibly friendly and personable- nothing was too much of an ask! The room was spotless, comfortable and stylish. We also loved the complimentary cakes and fresh milk provided.||Our family met us for lunch the following day. I had the fillet steak and my wife had the cod loin.||The fillet steak was so beautifully cooked and tender and the celeriac puree complimented it beautifully. It was one of the best steaks that I've ever had!||My wife's cod loin was also cooked perfectly, the fish was soft and flaky and the skin was perfectly crispy. Also the children recieved free icecream! ||The entire experience was just flawless made all the better when I had the opportunity to talk to chef in French! The quality of the food, the service and the care shown to us by the staff made our stay here a truly special experience. ||Thank you so much to all the staff. We can't wait to stay again!

Very comfortable room with many stylish touches. Loved the large bath, lovely high quality toiletries and the fresh milk and cookies especially. |Staff were friendly and helpful, especially the night porter who was very patient and kind when I kept forgetting the door code.|The breakfast was tasty, just what we wanted.|The location was great for us. We were visiting family in Sheffield.|The staff were helpful with parking. The car park is very small but they gave us permits for street parking when necessary.

I had a couple of breakfast meetings here with clients and the service, food and overall experience were excellent. A special mention must go to Holly H who provided exceptional service and created a very positive experience. Would definitely recommend.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel in September 2024 and raised a complaint about our poor experience caused by their failure to regulate their car park and aweful wifi signal. Our complaint raised in september, which to this date (8 months later), has still not been acknowledged or responded to by the directors of this business, despite chasing on various occasions. The Manager Harry provided a response to our complaint which failed to appreciate the inconvenience caused to us and offered no part refund or offer of good will for the stress their poor management caused. This hotel does not take the experience of customers seriously and has an atrocious record of dealing with complaints. I would not recommend this place and if I could give a 0 star, I would. On the day we were due to check-out they had poor regulation of customer parking, they had an unstaffed reception which delayed our onwards travel, resulting in me being late for a work commitment. Yet, my wife was waiting at least 10 mins at reception to check-out of the room which contributed to making her late for her work commitment at 11:00am. We were informed there was only one receptionist who would be with us to allow us to check-out soon, yet still waited at least 10-minutes to check-out which is completely unacceptable. This delay adversely impacted our plans for the day, in particular, it made us late for work meeting at 11 which made her look very unprofessional and caused her stress; We then were delayed by the hotel for a further 15 minutes to depart after we had checked out from the customer car parking area because the hotel staff allowed a BT contractor to park in front of parking spaces and the accessway leading to the customer parking area, which meant that no guests could leave as the road was blocked. The hotel also allowed a customer to park on the access in front of the BT contractor who we had to wait for before we could leave. We were told by a hotel staff that the hotel was aware that the customer was parked here because they were having breakfast with the hotel! This is extremely poor as the hotel was clearly aware that the BT contractor was at their hotel to fix the Wi-fi and were aware that the guests who had blocked the car park for a considerable amount of time were having breakfast, therefore the hotel staff failed to ask these people (or insist) that these persons move their vehicles immediately to a suitable car park (or overflow) to clear the access for other guests. This 15-minute delay made us late for a work appointment for 11am and caused her considerable distress. Parking in the access was not permitted as there is no parking spaces outlined and this would obviously block the access, causing inconvenience to hotel guests who had parked legitimately. We also consider this was a health and safety risk to us by being blocked in should a fire have occurred. Wi-Fi signal was extremely poor and couldn't connect - we tried to connect to the free Wi-fi during our stay for a business call on MS Teams, but the signal was so poor my wife had to apologise to those present and re-arrange. A hotel with a proposed 4* star standard sould not have such issues with this. Also, we were extremely disappointed that the Wi-Fi issues were not communicated to guests before or during their stay. Only at the point of check-out when my wife mentioned this to reception, the receptionist explained that the hotel were in the process of switching Wi-Fi and had issues with it so this is why the BT contractor was there. Do not stay here as they simply care about profit over customer service and experience.

We stayed in Owl's Burrow the first weekend in January. Nothing was too much trouble, I preordered a bottle of wine for the room and it was ready and waiting, The check in was easy and the service was always incredible. The bar was very well stocked and the seating area in reception was lovely to sit and have a drink. 24 hour bar so we returned after a meal to have more drinks with the night porter, who was lovely and made our evening! |The breakfast is absolutely fantastic, I would recommend it to anyone! Best scrambled eggs I've had! |The room was really clean and everything was there you could ever need. Fresh milk, cold water, great toiletries. Room was a good temperature and a fan was provided. Bed was extremely comfortable and I had a great sleep. Good parking facilities too. ||We will be back!

I stayed for 1 night here with my sister. A really good experience. Great hotel, loved our room, comfy beds. Delicious welcome brownies. It was good to have fresh milk in the fridge outside our room. Whilst the swing chair was comfortable once I got in, getting in was a challenge! Needs a back stop! Small plates and dinner were tasty and homemade. Service was friendly and welcoming - thank you Teagan; and Harry. I'd definitely stay here again.

The food was nice but I found the cost really high. This place has got great reviews and I feel bad writing one but the portions were so small and the taste was just OK.||Sometimes a person and an eatery just don't get along even though both are nice

What a delight. Beautifully appointed room - we stayed in Woodpecker - and spotless. The service was outstanding. Thank you Teagan but also the chef & other staff we interacted with. Loved the small plates of food. Tasty & homemade. There was good window glazing - we didn’t notice being on a main road. Loved the chocolates in our room. Comfy bed, pillows and linen. I will be back. Thank you.
