Amazing castle experience, where you can use almost all the rooms and furniture! We booked a room at the last minute, so we could stay in this beautiful castle only for one day. The room was simple but clean. And we spent most of our time at the drawing room. Hotel staff kind and friendly. Breakfast fresh and delicious.

A beautifully renovated castle. The rooms felt authentic but modern enough to be comfortable in. They were even dog friendly and our Westie was allowed to stay with us. Great nature walks around the castle and the grounds have been kept up well. Do make sure to visit the little museum. It has an amazing amount of bronze age spear head collections.

Beautiful old castle with an interesting history, today operated as a hotel and restaurant. We only visited for a stroll and a look inside their very extensive collection of stone age flint tools. Worth a visit.

Had a lovely afternoon at this beautiful place with great garden. Such a relaxing place. We had great lunch with great service and foods then we explore the mansion before we head to one of the cosy mansion room for our desserts and coffee surrounded by history. Highly recommended for a nice relaxing lunch and I can imagine would be lovely to stay for couple nights on a summer if you want a recharge too. Here some photos I took.

If you are looking for a beautiful, peaceful hotel in a "castle", with amazing food, service, ambience... you have come to right place. Far from the madding crowd, this is Danish charm and hospitality at it´s best. The Family room is large, warm, beds comfortable, and quiet. The restaurant serves impeccable seasonal food both for dinner (yes, it's pricey...but worth it!) and breakfasts. The garden and grounds are a delight to walk around (bring wellies!) and the castle/manor house is a perfect place to relax and take in the history of the building, where guests can sit in huge sofas, enjoying tea and coffee by the fireplace! Wifi is a little shaky, but this is the kind of place you almost want to be offline, gather your thoughts, and just relax in stress-free comfort! Gift shop sells their fine jams and confiture, and staff are there always attentive and giving advice on places to go. We stayed two nights, and wish we could have stayed more! We ate dinner on the first night, but chose to eat locally on the second night (There are many places to eat in Svendborg and in driving distance). Will definitely return! A perfect place to have a family break, or stay with friends.

It’s simply an amazing place. Great and modernised elegant rooms (and bathrooms), while at the same time, the hotel is basically a museum, with centuries of history, and open for guests. The atmosphere is historic and nice - and the price is affordable. And it’s on a main road. Will come back for sure.

Definitely worth a visit . Restaurant and hotel reported to be excellent. Although I went in to have a look at the rear of the castle where the castle owner has a fantastic collection of flint arrowheads , stone axes, whale bones and an Elk skeleton . Now why wouldn't you go have a look.

Yelp
My favorite destination, ever. The staff-team makes this place warm and inviting. Built in 1621, it has a long & storied history. Surrounded by a mote which flows off into a stream, the setting is gorgeous. Dinner each evening is an event. The duck last night was the best I've tasted. I have to say, Natasha's initial welcome, coffee by the fireplace, was very special. Her relaxed formality was wonderfully charming and set the tone for our stay here.
