A Nature Lover's Guide to Oregon

"With so much to see and do in Oregon, it’s still amazing to find a location that few people know about. No Name Lake is such a place. The colorful lake is nestled within a stretch of mountains. When the snow melts on Broken Top Mountain and its surrounding peaks, the water pools to form this picture-perfect natural wonder. During the spring to summer months, when the lake is not frozen, it exudes a beautiful turquoise color that sparkles in the sunlight and makes it stick out from the rest of the landscape. Moreover, even during the peak of summer, you’ll be able to catch a glimpse of the snow and ice perched at the summit of Broken Top. The lake’s striking color isn’t the only reason to trek to this spot. Here, you’ll also be greeted with spectacular views of the steep valleys and mountains Oregon has to offer, as well as its lush and dense forests. Additional bonuses are the fact that dogs are allowed (though your canine hiking partners must be leashed). You can also camp along the shore of the lake—as long as you clean up after yourself and leave no trace of your presence—ensuring you’ll spend the night surrounded by nature’s beauty." - ATLAS_OBSCURA

One of the most beautiful backing spots in Oregon hands down. Enjoyed the steady incline on the trail. Camping next to the river was pleasant and loved being able to easily filter water. Broken Top and the overlook was stunning! The blue glacial water and views of the three sisters, Jefferson, and all the way to Mount Hood!

🤩 This trail isn't easy for hike. But when I arrived to top i really happy.

Great mountain with great views and a super cool approach with a lake and a ridge. Not terribly technical to summit, but need to be comfortable with scrambling over loose rock.

Awe inspiring...enough said. You have to go to No Name Lake. 13 mile hike from Todd Lake or 4 mile hike from the parking lot accessed through the road at the end of Todd Lake’s parking lot.

Absolutely exhausting, but awesome hike!! Takes about an hour and a half to get there but the view is breathtaking!! Well worth it ☺️

A slow climb up from Green Lakes on a climbers trail but a rewarding scramble to the summit, and not too hard, if you go around the left side and follow the obvious chutes to the top.

You absolutely must not pass by this hike - one of those places where you get rewarded at the top. There are two ways to go about getting up here. Long way and short way. The long way is most of the year where you park at the bottom and have about from what i understand a few good hours (4-6) to get to the top. The other way is during mid summer when a road opens up and this is not a road any car can get through. Make sure you car is in good condition with great tires and suspension because its all off road. You must have a good height off the ground or the bottom of your car will get cracked or worse. I drove through with an F-150 (not lifted) and was ok. Just go slow. Its about 10-15 minutes on that offroad going about 5-7mph. to get to the second base trailhead. You will get to an area with surprisingly an outhouse and some signs (when you see a first set of signs however go left and keep going.). Some sprinters were off to the side in the distance camping out along the way so if your doing the same its a great spot (just pack up everything when you leave - leave no trace).

Fantastic hiking and camping spot. Only 30ish spots and the park rangers are out in full force enforcing that rule!
