Very pleasant restaurant. Great food and service and reasonably priced. Friendly and helpful staff.

Delicious food, friendly customer service, but the latte taste surprisingly bad, the barista has to learn the milk-steaming skill properly.

A quiet place to stop and have lunch. Can't go wrong with the chicken parmigiana which comes with chips and a fresh salad.

We attended a trivia night that was $80 per person, for a drink, 3 courses and coffee. We were assured vegans could be catered for. We couldn’t then believe how ridiculously bad our food was. Our main was a plate of plain flavourless couscous, with boiled broccoli And rocket, and a plain dressing. I wouldn’t have been impressed if an 8 year old made it. 5 minutes on google and you could see that vegan food doesn’t have to be boring like this. We didn’t think it could get any worse, but to our dismay dessert was a bowl of plain stewed apple and a few blueberries on top. It tasted like baby food. Others had cake or apple crumble with icecream; things that are easily made vegan! At the end, no coffee was even offered to us which was pretty poor. Overall felt totally ripped off. In addition the service was terrible, waitresses stunk of cigarettes, were wanting to take away cups just as you had put them down and started clearing plates before everyone had finished eating. Don’t usually leave bad reviews but felt that it would be beneficial knowledge to help the company improve. vegans/ vegetarians are becoming more common and you are losing a lot of business by not catering for them properly

Disappointed to arrive right on 2pm, not get served for 5 minutes, and then be told sorry but the kitchen closes at 2pm. There was still a big crowd in too. A bit of flexibility would be appreciated. I've been here before, and will go back again due to the dog-friendly environment, but maybe not as a first choice...

Had lunch last Friday with my wife, three children and my parents in law. Food, very nice and well portioned for a very reasonable price. Staff were excellent, with jokes and smiles all around. Great spot to stop.

We went to the Brookfield Shed for lunch today as we were down in Margate. We did not have a booking, and asked if we could have a table for 4. The restaurant was mostly empty at this stage, but the waitress checked the bookings and said it wasn't a problem. We were promptly served our drinks and given time to read the menu. That is where the good service stopped. We waited more than 20 minutes for a waitress, as did another table, so me and a lady from that table went to look for someone to serve us. At this stage there were only THREE tables in the whole place occupied. We found a waitress making coffee and let her know that we were ready to order. Two other waitresses could be seen cleaning up in the kitchen during this period. Our order was then taken and the food came. The food was tasty and reasonably priced. My sons had the lamb shanks and my partner and I shared a seafood board. The waitresses left the dirty cups on the tables while we ordered, despite delivering another cup of coffee to the table. I had to ask for them to be taken away. Anyway, when we went to pay we were asked if we were happy with the meal. I said the food was very good, but the service had not been good. This is where things turned ugly. I got a lecture about how we should book first - huh? The restaurant was pretty empty the while time we were there. Then I was given a heap of excuses about how they had 70 people booked in for lunch (had they gone before we arrived?) and they were too busy. Perhaps they shouldn't have seated us then?? Then the lady taking my money started to give me a spiel about how much work she had to do BEFORE serving us and the other table. I told her I wasn't interested in hearing the excuses. If a restaurant seeks feedback, then they should be expected to take honest feedback. Customers don't want the defensiveness and rudeness from the staff. My other comment relates to the ambiance - it is basic there. It is just an ok pleasant place to eat - nothing special. WE WILL NEVER GO BACK or recommend this place.

Ordered on Uber Eats and received the best "home cooked" and generous serves of pasta and chicken schnitzels we could have asked for! Thank you so very much! Will definately be ordering again and try to work through the whole menu over the coming months :-)

Tucked right off the highway as you head into Margate, this multipurpose restaurant/art gallery/produce market/etc is the Brookfield Estate. I came on the day there was a small Makers Market, with small stalls with all manners of handmade Knick-Knacks, trinkets and knit items. A nice little way to finish after my meal. Speaking of my meal, I came Brunchtime, without a reservation and after a little shuffling of the tables and scanning of the reservation list, they were able to squeeze me and the GF in. Winning! The service wasn't great, took quite awhile for a server to come take our order, despite there being several wait staff on, and a fairly empty restaurant. We had a very slightly more complicated than usual coffee order - a decaf latte in a mug; and a cappuccino with a side of cold milk in cup. We got neither of those. The coffee we were delivered tasted stale, and there was a crust of chocolate powder on "cappuccino" - which was more like a latte. So much in fact, it got caught in my beard and up my nose! Despite the coffee letdown, the food was great! Usual breakfast/brunch cafe food, nicely presented and a few surprises and left-of-field options- although I'm not a vegetarian, I ordered the Haloumi & Mushrooms (Mushaloomi!) and was it ever great. The kitchen is semi open, you can see the chefs working away through a small window, taking pinches of micro herbs along the way. Come for some food - maybe skip the coffee!
