Got the chopped cheese with fries and it was AMAZING. I’ve been wanting to try a chopped cheese for SO long, and this was the perfect first experience. We stopped here while driving back to Chicago from a ski trip, and this sandwich genuinely brought me back to life and powered me through the rest of the drive 😭 My friends got the Italian subs and the Michigan sub and absolutely loved those too. The food was fresh & super good. The woman working (I think the owner) was incredibly sweet and personable. She even remembered regular customers’ names, which was so wholesome. If I’m ever in Grand Rapids again, I will absolutely be back. Came for the chopped cheese, but the amazing customer service will keep me coming back for life. If I was local, I’d be a regular 100%. Our third time coming here and it’s just as delicious every time! Today we split the chopped cheese and italian subs, their two most popular, and a side of fries. While both were great, we can totally understand why the chopped cheese is the fan favorite. 10/10 always recommend, and the owner is so hands-on and fantastic. Can’t wait to come back :)

One of the best bagel sandwiches we've ever had! Besides the absolutely great and fresh taste of the bagels, they grill the bagels, which takes it to a whole new level! We had 2 Jersey Boy sandwiches (sausage, eggs, and cheese). One with parmeson garlic bagel with cream cheese and one with everything bagel, plain. Had a great conversation with the owner, who was super friendly! Unbelievably good...just go there!

The food that I had (chopped cheese and fries) were absolutely delicious! It was all made fresh and super flavorful. The customer service was also amazing! 10/10 experience and I will definitely be back!

The Bodega has quickly become one of my go to lunch destinations in Grand Rapids. I have tried the New Yorker, the Chopped Cheese, the Italian, and the Bacon, Egg, and Cheese, and every single one has been outstanding. The quality is consistent, the flavors are bold, and you can tell real care goes into every sandwich. At this point the toughest part of my visit is choosing what to order because there are no wrong choices! The Bodega delivers every time and has easily earned its spot as one of my favorite places to eat in the city.

I’ve been craving a delicious Italian sub for a couple decades now and I’m happy my craving was met at Brooklyn Bodega! The sub was fresh and delicious. The bread was perfect! Thankful to have this yummy sub option close to home. I’ve eaten here twice so far and it didn’t disappoint! I highly recommend trying this place out! It’s a take-out place only and I was able to find paid street parking easily.

We were looking for a good sandwich for lunch and tried out this place for the first time and enjoyed our experience! There was someone who greeted us right away and handed us some laminated menus. There was not a lot of seating so it felt like more of a takeout spot. I ordered the Hot Bacon & Cheese with a side of fries! Let me tell you this lasted me three meals! It was so tasty and good even later on in the day. The fries were crispy and good! Would definitely come back for a bagel and their breakfast sometime!

I had a delicious Bacon egg and cheese breakfast bagel! I picked pork bacon as my meat and a garlic parmesan bagel. I also ordered a 16oz coffee. The coffee was full and steaming hot when I went to pick it up, and the lady behind the counter kindly gave me a tip about calling ahead to order next time instead of ordering pickup through the door dash app as it would save me 30%! When ordering through the app, the prices are a bit higher than in store because they also have to pay doordash a fee, so I'm sharing her guidance with everyone else just as an FYI! My breakfast bagel was so yummy! The bagel was steaming hot, and they were generous with the fillings.

I honestly don't frequent this area of downtown that much but had some spare time before a class recently so I stopped in to Brooklyn Bodega for a light bite. The menu includes breakfast items and sandwiches/wraps made to order. This is pretty much a takeout only spot, they have a few stools and a bar rail but I'd recommend taking your food to go. I ordered the Jersey Boy (sausage, egg, and cheese) on an asiago bagel as I had heard their bagels were really good. I am honestly not the world's biggest bagel fan, especially when it comes to breakfast sandwiches, but I really liked this bagel sandwich. The bagel was cheesy flavored and soft to bite. The egg was so fluffy and steaming hot, yet not overcooked at all. A classic breakfast staple, so well done. I'd love to come back for a sub for lunch. They are only open til 3 most days so be sure to add it to your list of lunch spots.

First of all, the owner was so kind and friendly. I was happy to patron this place because of the welcoming environment, the tips and tricks for building a delicious bagel sandwich that hit the spot before work. For $10 I got a Asiago bagel with egg, cheese, onion and tomato with some cream cheese. It hit the spot. Service was quick. They have a cash discount. I appreciate the friendly environment and can do attitude. I hope this place is successful!

The chopped cheese is the best I've had in the area so far. The banana peppers are a really good touch. The service here is great. The breakfast sandwiches also slap too. Highly recommend

These are some of the best bagels I've ever had. They were fluffy, crunchy and not too thick to overwhelm the rest of the sandwich. My husband and I got a sausage, egg and cheese sandwiches that hit the spot and were somehow juicy for breakfast sandwich? I don't know how they did it but so yummy, would recommend!!

I got there right when it opened and honestly it took them a while to get me my bagel but it was definitely worth it. I ordered the Jersey Boy on an Asiago bagel, added the jalapeño cream cheese.. it was amazing. I will have to go back and get that again!

I am a bread girl and I LOVED the bread on this sub! It was perfectly toasted on the inside and soft and fluffy on the outside. The portion was huge as you can see in this photo, I was so full from just half of this sub but couldn't resist and ate the whole thing. The service was quick and friendly. I'll definitely be back to try some more items!

Was in town over the weekend djing a wedding. Some friends of mine from New York who were also in town came to eat lunch and mannnnn the food was so great. I ordered the Brooklyn Boy sandwich (ham egg + cheese) and I got it on a honey oat bagel. We also split the chopped cheese, which, I was thinking about all day. Got to meet the owner and his super nice family who made the sandwiches. I had to drive back on Sunday and was sad that I couldn't get a chopped cheese to go on the way back to Chicago. I'm posting this on a Tuesday and I'm still thinking about the Chopped Cheese from Saturday. It's only a three hour drive, I might just drive back up for the day to get a couple. Please go support this black owned small business. I promise it's worth it.

This was one of the best sandwiches I ever put in my mouth. I came back to yelp to look and see what I ordered previously, because I plan on traveling to GR next week and wanted to be reminded. I'm sad that I never reviewed the actual spot. Service was nice- if youre from from NY you know the kind of service. Meat was fresh, sandwich was delicious, wait a tad bit long, bit it was worth the wait.

Great addition to the corner of Jefferson and Fulton! The owners instantly greeted me and walked me through their menu and made some suggestions. I opted for the Jersey Boy breakfast sandwich which is sausage, egg, and cheese on any bagel I pick, so I went with an everything bagel. The owner mentioned I could make it a combo to include a drink and potatoes, which I did! Everything was made fresh right in front of me and within 5min, I was walking out with a delicious breakfast. The portions were large/fair for the price and they had a ton of drinks to pick from. I wish they had some juice options for breakfast but I still found something I liked. I'm excited to have another option nearby and to try some of their other options. They sell their breakfast menu all day as well! Give these guys a shot.

I was introduced to this gem by some good friends. They use quality ingredients, boars head meat and have a good general vibe. You definitely get your moneys worth. I ate my sandwich twice and was fully satisfied, even with the leftovers. Highly recommend and will be back!

We love breakfast sandwiches and there are not a ton of places with unique and super delicious ones in town. The downtown location is tough for us to get to unfortunately but we finally made it for take out on a Sunday morning. Everything was ready on time. I had a breakfast sandwich with bacon, egg, and cheese. It was so good! The bagel was awesome and it was cheesey and gooey. The potatoes were also excellent. I hope to make it down here more often!

I love this place. If you want a "baconeggadcheesespkonarol".... they get you. The chopped cheese is a legitimate taste from NYC. My personal favorite is that it's easily two meals worth of food. Boarshead meats, cooked fresh on a flat top to order. Located right off of Fulton with good street parking, I would be in trouble if they were open 24/7 like their their namesake. Owners and staff make you smile and appreciate your business.

Good lord, that's yummy! My partner and I both got the Egg and Peppers on the everything bagel, and added cheese. We had been looking for our bagel spot, and had tried everyone else. We finally found it here, and boy were we missing out! The staff were ultra friendly, and got our sandwiches out hot and fast. The ambiance truly did remind me of some of the bagel shops we've been to in New York. We will absolutely be back as regulars. Yummy yummy yummy! Put that bagel in ma tummy!

Really happy to have this close to my office! Love to see Michigan favorites Vernon's and Better Made potato chips in stock - but the sandwich was the star of my meal. Perfectly made, delicious, and a bonus was the service was amazing. Such a friendly place, I will be back for sure to check out their breakfast sandwiches!

East Coast/I-95 people: the bread is on point and the fries are fire. You know what that means. Everyone else: On the east coast anywhere north of DC a sandwich shop is judged by its bread. It's meat and cheese quality better be on point or you're def. Not gonna make it. Well it's boars head here, so enough said. But the bread is what sets apart a crappy shop and a good shop. They have good bread. If you want to see what people out East are talking about when they talk about the bread at a deli or sandwich shop, come here. I spoke to the woman who owns the shop next door, first thing she said was "oh the bread!" And I knew I was in for a real treat. The heroes/hoagies were straight gold. Come try the best the city has to offer and a true out East sandwich. Obv the bagels are good too.

My wife and I went for breakfast and got the Brooklyn Boy and Jersey Boy sandwiches. We couldn't have enjoyed them more. Chatted with the owner for a few minutes and she was super nice. Will definitely be back.

Super nice people work here! But the bagels are not good. Super puffy and fluffy, you'd be run out of NY if you tried to sell these there. No scallion cream cheese on the menu. I should've known something was up when the bagels weren't displayed in the wire baskets. The lady took them out of a big plastic tub out of view. The set up of the shop is very sparse and most of the cold cases are empty. I have to say the Everything topping was absolutely delicious. The actual bagel needs a lot of work.

Food was so good every time I have come in. Service is great and quick, easy in and out in 10-15 minutes. Was so good that I have eaten lunch here 4 times in the last two weeks. I have had the chicken tender sub with fries (dank), chop cheese (dank), grilled cheese with bacon & breakfast potatoes (super dank), Parmesan garlic bagel (delicious), and the cheesecake cones are sooooo good, only had the cookies and cream one of those. Also the bread they use for the subs is so soft and amazing. Only took a picture of the tender sub. Needless to say I will be back.

Friendly owners and staff working when I stopped on a Tuesday morning when they first opened. Great location and super yummy breakfast bagel sandwiches. The Jersey boy has sausage, egg, and cheese - I ordered with an everything bagel and added jalapeño cheddar cream cheese. It was just right! Hot & delicious :) Go support a small, local lunch and breakfast spot. Also appeared to have a deli case selling Boarshead meat! Yum!!

Ask for the chopped cheese burger(not on menu). It's an absolutely mouthwatering take on the classic NYC deli classic, the chopped cheese. Get it with everything on it. Perfect sandwich bread. Such an incredible place! Came here for work a few months back and stumbled upon this absolute GEM. Been thinking about this sandwich and the fries (best I've had) and the extremely kind faces behind the deli counter ever since. Couldn't wait to come back!

This place is spotless. I ordered a Italian hero. It was fresh and there was plenty of meat. It was definitely enough for 2 people. The lady behind the counter was super nice and my order came out pretty fast. There was an elderly woman in there cleaning and she was doing a great job.

The outside is small and there isn't room to sit and eat, but the food is fabulous. Top quality ingredients made carefully and to perfection. We had a corned beef sub and a turkey bagel and fries. With each bite we were exclaiming how good it was. The place is very clean and the staff is friendly, helpful and engaging. This is a gem you won't want to miss!

I heard so many good things about this place, how big the sandwiches are, how people are flocking to this place. The service was good, but my sandwich didn't have any meat on it. I had all bread. I ordered the corned beef for $20.00, should have ordered what everyone suggested the chopped cheese , but that wasn't what I wanted. For the price and what I got, I think I will pass on trying this place again.

The bagels were on the softer side, but the perfect texture for a sandwich in my opinion. The potatoes were crispy and well seasoned. The staff were friendly too! Will definitely be back.
