A Vintage Sailboat Ferries Groceries From Hudson to Brooklyn

"A Brooklyn marina that received a large, transatlantic sail-freight delivery of wine and chocolate, serving as an example of how maritime arrivals can be integrated into urban waterfront spaces and public life." - Aliza Abarbanel

Very nice marina with unparalleled views of Manhattan. The docks and security are excellent, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Beautiful historic Brooklyn Heights is steps away. You'll be happy you stopped here!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ to the team with assists in and out of the marina, Dean, Steven and Morgan. The marina is in a nice area with walking trails and parks. However, the reason for the 3 star review is the lack of any amenities at this marina. No showers, laundry or bathrooms. The shore power doesn’t work in all slips. While attempts were made to fix the situation, we ended up plugging in across the dock. The wi-fi is intermittent at best, most of the time no internet connection. Very bouncy most of the day and night due to high traffic on the river. Pricey for the lack of amenities.

We stayed for about a week for the 4th of July. Sam, the dock manager, is so friendly and helpful. He is always there and works really hard. The location is excellent, with the city as a backdrop and Brooklyn as your neighborhood. The security gate to the docks is at the pier park area which is a hub of activity. Walking, running trails, soccer fields on the pier, ice cream shop, play grounds, green spaces for picnicking yoga, etc. The office is a bit of a walk, past the playground and across the street, about 5 mins from the dock. Estuary is a great restaurant right next to the office and Ebb and Flow is their coffee/pastry shop. There is a market opening soon which will make it perfect for walking distance provisions!!! The Brooklyn neighborhood promenade is excellent for walking and there are many restaurants, dog groomers, pet stores, veterinarians and other needs close by.

Good location for visiting NYC by boat. Great walking and public transit options nearby, and getting around by bicycle is not bad. During the day the many ferries in the East River produce substantial surge in the marina; you'll want to be careful with how you rig your docklines. It settles down in the evening when the ferries stop running, so sleeping is not disturbed by surge. There's not much in the way of facilities; the (few) bathrooms are a fair walk away, through the security gate, and you have to find laundry elsewhere. The dockmaster and other staff are friendly and helpful. The view of Manhattan is terrific.

Negative Experience Due to Inappropriate Treatment and Procedure During my last visit to this marina, I arrived dehydrated and was grateful to receive water and assistance from several kind younger employees. Unfortunately, my overall experience took a very negative turn when an older staff member wrongly assumed I did not belong there. He escorted me to the office and, without listening to my explanations or properly verifying the situation, prevented me from leaving until I could correctly spell the name of my boat or until someone came to get me. Being detained in a room with 2 men and one woman made me feel unsafe and vulnerable. Detaining a person against their will is unacceptable under any circumstance. Staff should be trained to handle situations with good judgment, respect, and common sense. Especially when it involves the health and well-being of a visitor. While the marina has a convenient location, the lack of training in basic human rights and customer service means I cannot recommend it.

If you own a boat and live in ny area, this is a must visit place. The view will make up for lack of amenities - Informative and professional staff is a big plus!

Great views, if you are fortunate enough to park your boat there.
