The 37 Best Things to Do in New York City

"When the Brooklyn Bridge was constructed in 1883—extending 1,595 feet across the East River, connecting lower Manhattan to Brooklyn Heights—it was the longest suspension bridge in the world. Now, it’s a historic staple of the New York City skyline, transporting commuter car traffic underneath and touristic foot traffic above. Standing before arches and rectangles with city skyscrapers rising in the distance, will at once inspire a sense of grandiosity and slightness." - Melissa Liebling-Goldberg, Alex Erdekian

The greenery next to the iconic Brooklyn Bridge is lovely. The park has everything to enjoy the nice weather, including gorgeous scenery, great picnic spots, food, and a park. It is a good idea to come alone or with friends.

Fantastic park with great views of the bridges and lower Manhattan. Plenty activities if you walk south to the piers and easy to jump on Ferries to northern Brooklyn and Manhattan's financial district.

😎 I visited Brooklyn Bridge Park Pier 1 last Sunday, and it was a fantastic experience! I drove there and was pleasantly surprised to find easy and free parking, which made the trip even better. The weather was perfect—clear skies, cool breeze, and a beautiful view of the Manhattan skyline. The park was clean and had a great atmosphere, perfect for a walk or just sitting and enjoying the scenery. Highly recommend this spot for a relaxing weekend outing! Definitely planning to visit again.

It is a wonderful place to view the city. We walked the bridge at night, and it was a beautiful view of the city at night with all the lights. It's definitely a must do experience while in NYC. Fun for all ages. We ended our walk with ice cream at Van Leeuwen Ice Cream.

One of my most favorite photos that I've ever taken was from this Pier towards lower Manhattan on a sunset. I cannot express how happy I was to get those shots. If you're coming to Manhattan to New York or Manhattan, I highly suggest to get a sunset shot from this vantage point. You will not regret it

Yelp
There are many great spots to take photos of the New York City skyline, and one of my favorites is Old Pier 1 in Brooklyn Bridge Park. If you cross the bridge and don't take some time to explore the Brooklyn side, you are missing! The area is so gorgeous, and charming, with spectacular views of Manhattan - and the bridge. It is a site to behold. One of the classic spots of this area, Pier 1 offers panoramic views of lower Manhattan, besides space for relaxing, playgrounds, and public arts. Whether you're taking a leisurely stroll, sinking into a good book, or looking out at the harbor, this outstanding open space provides scenery to spare. Fulton Ferry Landing and the Empire-Fulton Ferry State Park are incredible and provide inspiring views of Manhattan and the bridges; Pier 1 takes those views several steps further. When standing on Pier 1, you can't help but feel closer to Manhattan, with crystal clear views of the Statue of Liberty and vistas that allow you to gaze at Manhattan and Brooklyn in a new light. Pier 1 has two large lawns, a playground, and a waterfront promenade. It is lined with benches, viewing steps (made from stones salvaged from the Roosevelt Island Bridge), and acres of trees and plants.
