Absolutely incredible place with breathtaking views of Manhattan, the bridges, and the Statue of Liberty. Perfect spot to relax, take photos, or just enjoy the cityscape. Highly recommended for locals and visitors alike!

This is the place with the best view in New York. When the sunset and it gets night, it's just beautiful. In my personal opinion, it's the best place in the world, If you're a tourist, you should spend an evening there.

We passed by this expansive court with solid netting around the playing field. The surrounding views of Manhattan by the waterside with the boats are serene. The statue of Liberty is a bit far away, but stands out visibly

Whether you're a local or tourist, you've got to visit this park and walk the trail along the water. Seriously some of the best views of the Manhattan skyline!! There are plenty of benches too if you want to take a seat and enjoy the view/take a break. There are open soccer fields & basketball courts for the public to enjoy as well.

Not to be confused with the Broken Bridge Perk, which is when a toll bridge becomes free to everyone because it's in danger of collapse. This is the amazing park and pier next to the Brooklyn Bridge on the Brooklyn side, and you get such a spectacular view of the amazing skyline of the downtown financial Manhattan from here, and one of the best views in the whole city. Of course as you know if you drive by the Riverwalk, there's not many views that compare to this. It's pretty gorgeous. And of course there are soccer fields here and that just makes it even more amazing.

I was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. I come by every view years I'm up here until November 7th and have some time to kill until this evening so I decided to come to the Brooklyn piers. Very nice quiet (away from traffic). I'm disabled, they have free parking available. Nicely manicured place there is construction but it's very quiet for a Thursday afternoon at 3pm.

There is absolutely nothing more exhilarating than embarrassing yourself on the soccer field with water all around you, and the downtown Manhattan skyline as a backdrop. I am absolutely grateful that, thanks to NYC Footy,* I can spend my Sunday afternoons coughing and wheezing and trying not to vomit on the gorgeous turf. Evidently, this pier is only going to get better when the concession stands open for the summer. I can only imagine how wonderful it will be to get something delicious to eat before I stumble -- a broken, exhausted man -- past the lovely little dog park on the way to one of the bars on Atlantic where I will drown my sorrows of athletic incompetence in alcohol. Warmer weather has finally hit NYC and this is the first time I've been to this park. Now, there isn't a lot of shade but on a nice Saturday afternoon that's not too hot, this is the perfect place for a barbecue. It's right off the water, so when the breeze passes by, it hits you quietly nicely. There are multipurpose fields and grills. Really the whole 9. Such a dope spot. I will return.

Adjacent to Brooklyn's Pier 6 (duh), Pier 5 was once a defunct slab of concrete jutting out into the water. After several months of construction, they did a beautiful job transforming the space into an all-purpose turf field lined for both soccer and lacrosse with stunning views of downtown Manhattan. Next to Pier 5 is an equally new picnic area with a handful of fixed charcoal grills. I can't wait until our summer Brooklyn beach volleyball league (games at the adjacent Pier 6) kicks off so we can have a team BBQ one night beforehand! By itself, Pier 5 is a beautiful addition to the Brooklyn waterfront, but add in the park amenities at Pier 6, Bark Hot Dogs' tasty food and drinks, and the nearby bars and concessions, and you've got the makings of some awesome summer nights!

A huge soccer field with incredible views of Manhattan, I think I'd be forever distracted! If you're looking for a league, I highly recommend trying to find something at Pier 5! Bring your own water but be careful of your intake--bathroom situations might not be ideal for you! If you're looking for an activity while visiting, Super Soccer Stars in a kid friendly soccer program that is fantastic! And if you don't want to be involved in the game, it's still worth it to take a stop here, the views of the city are incredible, plus you'll see boats and helicopters visiting the Statue of Liberty, which can also be seen from this pier! This was probably one of the most photogenic places I stopped at during a recent trip to Brooklyn/NYC, if you're looking to capture some great shots, this should be your stop!

Time of Day: Midday Parking: There's parking?! lol We walked from the subway. Establishment & Experience: I love it! Partially because Brooklyn is home and mainly because it is nice to see all the different families and friends there for birthdays and other celebratory get-togethers. It was truly relaxing.

Old review still stands, as does my poor soccer play, but I had to downgrade the park a star due to the bathroom situation, or lack thereof. A few years into playing here the fact that there's no dedicated restroom, porta or otherwise, for this entire pier is a bit absurd. To use the facilities, you need to walk over to the next pier, where there is one toilet, one urinal. There are roughly 3-400 people that roll through here minimum every weeknight. You can do the math. Since there aren't many local biz within a 10 min walk, get your business done before you come out to the park.

After I posted my following overall review for the Brooklyn Bridge Park I realized that Yelp segments the park into piers 6, 5 and 2. Piers 6 and 5 are adjacent to each other. I experienced all of the piers. I decided to post this overall review to each of the piers. If you visit one pier I suggest you visit all of them, since they are so close to each other. I recommend starting at Pier 6. Piers 5 and 2 are my favorites, but, be sure to have lunch by the Brooklyn Bridge. I recently met my brothers, sister and brother-in law at Brooklyn Bridge Park on a beautiful Saturday for lunch. I grew up in Park Slope on 11th street so I have many fond memories of Brooklyn. I arrived here by Pier 5 first before noon so I was lucky enough to find metered street parking for only $6 for up to a maximum of 3 hours. As it was this was more than enough time for us to walk the park and have lunch up by the Brooklyn Bridge. I was able to return within the 3 hour time limit with minutes to spare. I latter realized I was lucky to get this parking spot, because I subsequently noticed many people driving around or waiting for the next available parking spot. When the rest of my family arrived after noon they both had to park their cars in the Quik Park parking garage for about $25. They complained about the lack of public parking in this beautiful park. There seems to be space for more public parking so let's hope that will happen so more people can enjoy this park on the East River. We walked down to Pier 6 to start our stroll up along the numerical piers 6 through 2. Pier 6 has a place to eat. Pier 5 also completed adjacent to a field for sports followed by an outdoor picnic area for families. As we walked along the river the magnificent lower Manhattan skyline was my enjoyment. Pier 2 had a long line for Kayakers. The view of the Brooklyn Bridge at this point was impressive. Many of the piers are completed, but, construction is also visible as we walked to and from the Brooklyn Bridge for lunch. Check out my pics of the park, piers and the Brooklyn Bridge.

This is amazing addition to Brooklyn waterfront. Brooklyn Bridge park is first major park built in NYC in almost 135 years. Sustainable and recycled materials and construction elements make this park truly unique. From old bridge boulders to salvaged warehouse wood, to "green" roof on some of the structures and recycled traces. Featuring multiple sports fields, beautiful walking pier with magnificent panorama of the city, as well as several food stands, Pier 5 is my favorite spot to stop and enjoy the waterfront views. There are lots of benches to sit and relax. Many special events held here - there is always something interesting to see!

Awesome to walk around on at night. It has that million dollar view of Manhattan at the end. The water is always so calming.

I spent some time at Pier 5 while seeking out Smorgasburg recently and I loved it. There isn't a ton of covered seating (and on a July afternoon that can be a big deal) but it's beautiful area with some fantastic views. This is a lovely place to spend some time. Bring a picnic or just find a seat and hang out for a while.

Surprisingly clean and quiet for NYC/Brooklyn. The best view of downtown Manhattan you will ever see. Just roll up and down pier 2 to our 5 for great photo ops.

My favorite park in Brooklyn, the view, the water, the greens, the playgrounds and of course Smorgasburg.

Every time I come to Brooklyn Bridge Park, I am so thankful to live here. Pier 5 is accessible via walking south down through Brooklyn Bridge Park, or walking west on Joralemon Street until you hit the water. There are soccer fields that are lit through the evening, basketball courts, a mini pop up pool and beach, walking/biking paths, and an Ample Hills Creamery. Smorgasburg is here on Sundays which is a must do for any visitors to Brooklyn or any self described foodie. I'm on Pier 5 for the picnic tables and grills, where friends can gather, enjoy the view, and barbecue outside for a slice of summer bliss. Bring your own charcoal and lighters and make sure you scrub the grill clean! People are neighborly here, offering to share meals and help you take your pictures. The views of lower Manhattan are magical no matter the time of day.

I personally think that the best view of NYC must include the Brooklyn bridge in it. This place is both beautiful and historic. Set by the water, enjoy beauty, and relax, there is enough traffic and concrete outside this park. Few problems: do not bring your car. It can be impossible to find decent parking spot. There is historical building there, that have been standing deserted for long time now. It is a beautiful building, and I don't know why the city of Nee York do anything about it. The cool (some will say scary) bridge that use to connect the neighborhood to the park is closed, I guess it became too dangerous.

Amaaaazing area with tons of picnic tables and bbq grills. The view is unbeatable and in the Fall, you can avoid the crazy crowds that herd here during the Summer. Ended up staying out here for more than 4 hours with a group of friends on a Saturday. We brought picnic goods and had a great ol time. Watch out for the wind though... I got myself a little wind burnt. Bathrooms are a quick stroll down the waterfront at Fornino pizza. Ample Hills ice cream is also just down the way.

Love the park. So much fun activity to do and such a great view of the city. It is relaxing and nice to be here and good all year around. I wish they had more restrooms. That is the only reason I do not give a five star.

I'm coming to live in Queens next month, which is september I play soccer a lot, thats my main thing, i'm gonna be a soccer player one day! I was just wondering if i could make any friends earlier so that we'd already know each other when I'm there, I'm 14 btw..

Beautiful place to play soccer and get some ample hills ice cream. I would say probably one of the most unique soccer field to play on in the world. Where else could you play soccer and have that view of lower manhattan? Can be a bit overcrowded but definitely worth the trip.

Brooklyn Bridge Park is awesome! With exercise events and fun playgrounds, it is full of things to do. There is a soccer field, a place to kayak, an ice cream stand, a bathroom, and even a soccer field. I hear there is even a spot to barbecue with picnic tables, but you have to supply the charcoal and meat to grill. It is great to check out the sunset at the evening.

This is an amazing place to go take a walk. The view is beautiful especially during night time. The soccer field is so big and you get to see handsome men playing on the field lol. The location is good as well, with restaurants close by. Parking around here is hard. But it's totally worth it!

I love all parts of Brooklyn Bridge Park and Pier Five this year had Photoville, which made it more fun. Views here are magnificent, proximity is good to Atlantic Avenue where you can pick up a good lunch and bring to this park, or you can just use the concession stand here. There are picnic tables, with umbrellas(hooray) and public bathrooms and a field area for those who play team sports. A great spot to visit if you want to relax and rejuvenate after the hustle and bustle of Cobble Hill and Atlantic Avenue.

Came here for smorgasburg and it was amazinggggg.. There are so many different food venders and variety that everyone can find something they enjoy. It's a bit crowded and not many places to sit and enjoy your meal. Still more than worth the visit. Great view, atmosphere and food.

Its clean, spacious, comfy and serene. Not really what you expect when you think of Brooklyn huh? lol I like grabbing lunch anywhere nearby and finding a table or bench which are both in abundance and just enjoying the gorgeous view of the city. Best place I know of to just unwind and escape the constant hustle and bustle.

Aside from Smorgasburg on some days, Pier 5 boasts an awesome address -- "& the water" -- plus the newer portion, complete with fields and other rec areas.

This is a must-see destination in the downtown-Brooklyn-Brooklyn-Heights area. It looks like an ongoing project that will never stop transforming in the next few years. I'd like to try to show up on weekdays to see the difference for each season. I've been here so often because of a weekend part-time gig that I've been doing in the area for over 3 years now. I like to try kayaking here when I get the chance. The whole place is really pretty and pleasing to explore around in the city, to say the least. Most people who show up here are whites, asians, and not that many number of blacks (at least during weekends). I have to say this as I don't notice something similar in parks in the borough where I live (Staten Island). I wish the park administrators would have more locations for bathrooms, though.

Hopefully I'll come back to this park this summer. I only came here once so I need to explore this park.

Who doesn't love this park..! Stunning view of Manhattan..u can seat there and enjoy the view or u can BBQ in the summer.. This park is li.ked with the other parks in that area..it's basically a part of a humongous park in Brooklyn dumbo..! If u walk a lil u will find a nice ice cream store and if u walk furthermore u will see a huge line infront of the world's one of the most famous pizza store..! There is something for everyone..! It's a sanctuary to me..

Playing soccer in any park is fun. But when you play soccer (and winning at the game) with the view of the Manhattan skyline, it's fucking awesome.

I love the fact that they have built soccer fields right on the water with stunning views of Manhattan. This is definitely a great park, I could see myself hanging out all day and just enjoying the weather.

I visited the park on my trip to Brooklyn from Ohio. Finding it was an adventure all onto itself, and the weather was dismal. Keeping this in mind and out of my feelings toward the park itself, I'd have to say it was a really nice place. There were plenty of playing fields and picnic tables. I could definitely see having a great time here, bringing some cook-out equipment, and enjoying the view and a beautiful, sunny day. Everyone there would agree, because despite the weather, it was totally packed with families and large groups.

This review is for the BBQ area at Pier 5. Having a public BBQ area by the waterfront is a great idea, it is how people behave here that really upsets me. The rules of the BBQ area says first come, first served. How it should be interpreted is that people showing up first with the whole party AND the food should be served first, not some guy taking up a whole table and two or three grills for two hours waiting for his family or friends to come, wasting the resources while other people coming fully prepared have to be turned away. On the day we were there trying to find a grill, only about half of the grills were being used, the other half were marked with some charcoal or a roll of foil indicating the grills are taken in the foreseeable future. Just like making a reservation at a restaurant, people are expected to show up with their whole party, or else they will not be seated. Somehow this common sense doesn't work at Pier 5, which has pretty much ruined this place for me. I'll be making suggestions to the Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy in hope for attaching some strings to the "first come, first served" rule. Until then, I probably won't be coming to Pier 5 for the BBQ again.
