This place is a gem. Lovely curated selection of high quality furniture, friendly staff, and smooth delivery. My first purchase was an 8’ round rug for my dining set, which is in the center of my little apartment. Absolutely gorgeous and worth the 3-month wait. I went back today for a portable lamp that caught my eye when I ordered the rug. I also got a new floor lamp to replace an old lamp that recently broke. So happy with these new additions! I’m looking forward to coming back and picking out new pieces as I upgrade my old furniture

My husband and I just purchased a couch from Brooklyn City Furniture, and we couldn’t be happier with the entire experience. From the moment we walked into the showroom, the staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and never pushy—just genuinely helpful. We found a beautiful, high-quality couch (play tower) that fits perfectly in our space, and the delivery process was seamless. The team was communicative and handled everything with care. Walked into BCF on Presidents day with no intention of buying, I was just looking for inspiration. But I noticed a couch I really liked and spoke to Agnes about it, she was incredibly informative and helpful and put ZERO pressure on, while still offering some opinions (and info about the sales that were about to end). John and Agnes both were wonderful throughout the sale process and even let me make the purchase without committing to a fabric as I still had to figure out a few more details. When my sister was in town a week later I showed her the couch at the store and we had a wonderful conversation (partly driven by them letting my sister's adorable dog in the store). John came by for the delivery just a couple weeks later, and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. They're a true local treasure with a beautiful collection of furniture.

My husband and I walked into Brooklyn City Furniture with the intention to browse, and ended up leaving with a beautiful, comfortable couch. The customer service was incredible. Agnes helped us design our sectional, focusing on our space concerns, and gave us zero pressure to buy. The delivery was easy and SO fast. We were lucky enough to receive our couch within a week, rather than waiting months like other stores. We'll definitely shop here again!

Randomly popped into the store before the holidays as we had been thinking of looking at some new couches and peering into the window of this small store it looked like it fit our aethetic. Little did we know we’d walk out of the store with exactly what we wanted in a new couch and pillows. For such a little store, they had a number of amazing options including one we had been looking high and low for a chance to actually sit before buying. Their service was incredible, not pushy, helping us navigate options and making the process easy (even with our two little kids running around the store). We traveled for the holidays and they scheduled the perfect delivery time for us (amazing how fast they got the product to us post-purchase) when we returned. They do their own delivery so a trusted person from their team took care of us (white glove setup and box removal). Loving our new couch!

"Brooklyn City Furniture" is the answer given when asked where I bought my beautiful dining room set, sideboard, sleeper sofa, dresser, rug, chair, etc. etc. When friends come over to our place, the first thing they say is that they love the sleek, modern designs. I'm not an interior designer at all.. This wouldn't be possible without Agnes's help. She listened carefully and made suggestions based on the criteria I had in mind. She was collaborative, informative and super flexible with my indecisiveness. John was patient, engaging and welcoming. I am so glad I found them. We live in the neighborhood and they went above and beyond to accommodate our crazy schedules and turn around times.

We walked into the showroom with minimal expectations, assuming we would come, sit and leave. Upon entering we started to chat with Jeremy, who was VERY patient and thorough in walking us through all the couch options. We saw 4 different couches and talked about a ton of the material options, throughout this the service and support we received was exceptional. Between that and the black friday deal, it made the purchase a no brainer. Jeremy was the perfect balance of sales-y, giving us his card when we asked if we could give him a ring once we'd settled on a material. Looking forward to our couch!

From the moment we walked in, we had a great experience. BCF has beautiful furniture and Agnes is amazingly helpful. Delivery could not have been smoother. We love our new sofa and would recommend BCF to anyone.

They are a throwback, a typical small footprint store jam packed with a well curated and eclectic mix of furniture and accessories. Still, you ask, "How are they better?" The owner of Brooklyn City Furniture is John, a casual guy who can be formal if required but hits his stride with laughter and ease, and he has a discerning eye too. He knows great art and he knows great furniture. John sources his inventory from stellar furniture makers such a Gus Modern and Foundry. Where in NYC can you go to a furniture store and the owner is there to help you? Find something you like and John might be able to sell it to you with ssshhh... our secret, a 15% discount. John isn't looking to rip you off. He sells great furniture at a great price. Wow, what a concept. Oh, it gets better. John's partner in crime, Agnes, knows all. She will help you with fabrics, pricing, and logistics. Ask John a question and Agnes hears every word. She'll even crack the whip when needed. It's a hoot to behold and worth the price of admission. Never has buying furniture been so much fun. At Brooklyn City Furniture it's John and Agnes. That's it. They are a perfect duo. One thing's for sure, you won't get this level of service at Crate & Barrel. Then came delivery day, of the beautiful Gus Modern Wallace 84" top-grain leather sofa. John and his very kind helper, Michael, showed up on the day and time they said they would. Since when does the store owner personally hand deliver their own goods? There was constant communication between John and I and he arrived in a gorgeous delivery truck... yes, it really is gorgeous. The sofa was triple bubble wrapped and taped. I was gobsmacked. My worries about the sofa being dropped on concrete or the leather being scraped on a wall, vanished. John and Michael wheeled the sofa up to my apartment, centered it along my living room wall, removed the bubble wrap and, voilà, my boring white living room turned into Versailles. I enjoyed John and Michael so much. Afterwards, we had a nice visit complete with the requisite selfies. Never was buying a piece of furniture this easy and painless. I've got a quality sofa at a great price and I made friends along the way. Stay tuned guys, I'm bringing you donuts this week so we can keep the party going. Five stars? Chh. On May 12th my daughter and I walked into Brooklyn City Furniture and not only fell in love with everything that was displayed, but also Agnes who was just amazing! I live in Colorado and we were closing on a condo for our daughter the next day and wanted to get it furnished ASAP. As you know, timeline for furniture purchase is very long, but Agnes worked with us and even held our furniture delivery for a few days so we could finish some painting before the furniture was delivered! We had our furniture delivered (white glove service!) by June 10th! We purchased a beautiful couch, bar stools, dining table and chairs. We have been so happy with the purchase and Agnes' customer service every step of the way. Thank you Brooklyn City Furniture! On a side note: I loved the service and furniture so much, I ended up purchasing a coffee table for my office in Denver , which is beautiful also!

I recently purchased a sofa from this store and only experienced excellent service. From the moment I strolled in and spoke w/ one of the 2 guys that run the store to delivery of my sofa, I only have positive comments to share. These 2 guys are hardworking, very attentive, and willing to go the extra mile to ensure customer satisfaction. I'll definitely be going back there for future purchases. Just got our second couch from here (in addition to many pillows!). It could not be easier. The couch came in only two weeks and was even better than we remembered. It rivals much more expensive ones that we saw, and we shopped around a lot before finding what we wanted right in our back yard. Thanks J. B. !

Customer service rocks here. They are so helpful and friendly and above all patient. I went back and forth on some ideas for the perfect sofa for my loft apartment and the staff was wonderful. They offered helpful pointers and guided me to making the best purchase possible for my taste and budget. The sofa looks amazing and I am very happy with my purchase.

We were looking everywhere for a couch for our new apartment. It's an open layout and nothing we saw "worked". We walked into City Furniture and found the perfect seating for our new place. It is unique, modern, and super comfy. Staff was amazing and they delivered it to my apartment in a timely, professional manner. Will definitely be purchasing more from them in the future.

The two guys who run the place are really good guys. We just bought a sleeper couch from them. They accidentally charged us a much lower price but were total gentlemen about it and honored their verbal price quote. They came to install the couch and I felt comfortable and safe with them in my home. I am going to go there again. Good range of products but small show room so ask for catalogs.

This place is great! My husband and I finally decided to redecorate our living room and we found so many amazing pieces here, we ended up getting a new sofa, tv cabinet, ottoman and a floor lamp. JB runs the shop and he is very easy and fun to deal with him, he wasn't pushy at all and he let us browse as long as we wanted, we spent a long time in the shop making decisions. He is very professional and he gave us a great deal on all the pieces! They were also super flexible on the delivery and even came twice to deliver (since one piece was arriving few days later) but they didn't mind coming twice and the second time was on a Saturday evening! Everything looks great in our place and the service was fantastic! We will definitely go back when we will need more furniture.

I love, love this store, modern furniture in REALLY reasonable prices. I was looking for a sofa for almost a year now but if you live in nyc its almost impossible to find good quality not spending a fortune! Not anymore! I found this store and I fell in love instantly. Sergio was so understanding and patient with me, explained every option i could've had. he wasn't pushy which i loved and gave me a space to think about it. Very professional approach. He also offered me a floor sample for a great, great discount! You can really negotiate everything with those guys. Thanks to them i had my sofa next day and as I'm writing this review I'm sitting on it. I will definitely come back for more!!! Finally i found the place where they will not rip you off. Okay, This place is easily the best place in Greenpoint to buy well-priced knock off modern furniture. If there is something you're looking for that isn't in the showroom they'll take the time to find it in their numerous catalogs to help you find it and order it for you. I'm only giving it 2 stars because in order to buy something there you have to ENDURE dealing with the two guys who run it. They talk WAAAAAY too much, they try WAAAAY to hard to be "cool with you" and pretty much chase my husband and I away every time we try to go by. After purchasing 2 couches, a table and 2 chairs, we just couldn't muster the energy to deal with these guys anymore. It's really a shame because they really are nice guys but they could have sold us thousands of more dollars worth of merchandise if it weren't for their mouths. PLEASE stop talking, leave people alone and just be helpful when help is needed! We'd love to come back but won't unless you guys leave (which is doubtful).

I bought a great quality memory foam mattress set by Sealy at City Furniture. I was in the market for a while, stopped in one day, got great advise, service and fast delivery to NJ! I sleep really well now. I highly recommend this place!

Shopping for furniture here is a great experience, the owners are very friendly and easy to work with. They have a great selection of high quality and great looking pieces. Also delivery is so fast; everything I ordered comes within days not weeks or months like other places.

Stay clear !!!!! unless you don't care about the fact that if what you buy comes with almost 2 months delay and in a wrong color and you cannot return it!!!!!!!! This is exactly our experience. We ordered an item from a catalogue. Almost 2 months later, the item arrived in a wrong color ! The store argued that there was absolutely nothing wrong with the piece and since we didn't keep the original package they couldn't accept it - by the way the restocking fee is 25%! We are taking it to small claims court since this is the biggest rip off place I've ever come across.
