17 Top Soups at Restaurants in NYC | Eater NY

"Some of the best versions austerely have only matzo balls and consomme, but this version ($14.50) treats the classic soup as a full meal. Sure, the matzoh ball itself is huge and misshapen, but there’s plenty of pulled chicken, while chopped carrot and celery abound in a healthy sort of way." - Eater Staff

Brooklyn Diner LaGuardia Review - LaGuardia Airport - New York - The Infatuation

"You can grab Brooklyn Diner’s iconic pastrami sandwiches and burgers at their LGA outpost, which has a large seating area conveniently located in one of Terminal B’s skyways that overlook the tarmac. Wait out a delay and start the vacation read you need to finish before it inevitably becomes an Apple+ series at one of the comfy booths. Or, multi-task scrolling and watching whatever game is on the TVs in between bites of fries." - Anne Cruz

Stopped in to grab some takeout to bring back to our hotel. I have a garlic allergy so I’m somewhat of a pain in the neck. I was directed to go to the bar to order. Leslie R. helped me out and was very kind. I told her what I was interested in and she went up to the kitchen to check with the chef if either option (chicken soup and chicken fingers) were safe for me. She came down and let me know both were safe so I ordered both. Yes, it’s 92* in July 🥵 but I am SO glad I ordered the soup. It is LOADED with tender chicken, celery, onions, carrots, and small noodles. I will definitely be visiting this place before we head home. I want to mention again how kind and welcoming Leslie was. She offered me to sit and a glass of water while I waited. I haven’t broken into the chicken fingers yet but they look delicious! Stop in…you won’t be disappointed!

🥳Fantastic Breakfast at USA Brooklyn Delicatessen Times Square😍 Had an amazing breakfast at USA Brooklyn Delicatessen in Times Square😊We ordered eggs over light with softly cooked bacon, a veggie egg white omelette, and fresh coffee — everything was absolutely delicious and made to perfection👏The eggs were fluffy, the bacon melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the omelette was packed with fresh ingredients❤️The coffee was rich and satisfying — exactly what you want to start the day in the Big 🍎 The atmosphere was casual and welcoming, and the staff were friendly and efficient. Highly recommend for a hearty, no-fuss breakfast near Times Square😘

Google
Great place near the Times Square. We just walked in without reservation and there were some empty spots. Dinery is cozy, not too loud. For the 1 slice of chocolate cake and 1 portion of omelet we paid $45 with tips. The prices are all bit higher but again it's the heart of Manhattan so..... The portion is not too big. In general recommend 👌

Google
Quality of eating perfect. Quality of service less than 0. In front of Europe, English is not my first language. The waitress kept trying to correct my language and accent the whole time. It felt very arrogant. This was the first restaurant I visited in the USA. There was a lot of confusion about tipping, which doesn’t feel natural to me. I wanted to leave 10%, and I suddenly felt a lot of hostility from the waitress. I also didn’t really understand why I wasn’t allowed to take the receipt with me. Apart from that, the food was actually of very high quality.

What a great experience! We're no stranger to great diners so it takes a lot to get me to write a review. The Brooklyn Diner hit the spot in so many respects. From the great atmosphere to the service... Our visit this morning was a breath of fresh air in a city that pushes everything too fast Our server Toniah, was fast and detail oriented. Our breakfast arrived hot, perfectly cooked, and served with skill. I had 3 eggs over medium with fries and homemade sausage (my typical order). They did not disappoint. It's a pity I'm not in town more often because I'd make this place a regular stop. Great with kids and the floor is run with speed so you're not waiting all day for a table. This place is tops.

It was our first dinner in NY just near our hotel and this is exactly what you need after a long flight ! Typical American food, including all day breakfast (my dream!). The prices are fine for the area, the food is delicious and generous, the service is fast and the design makes you feel like you are in an American movie. Special thanks to our waiter Cheikh for being so friendly and welcoming, his professionalism makes us want to come back. And we will! Thank you so much Cheikh!

I was there for a late night dinner with my two daughters last Friday night. The staff is cheerful, efficient and polite. The place, although little dark inside with the wood paneling, is very clean, no dust to be seen anywhere. The Caesar salad was outstanding and the guacamole tasted almost as good as homemade, it was the perfect midnight snack!

Google
With scaffolding over the entrance, the first impression, due to no fault of its own, is not impressive to the eye. But once inside this nice size diner, one realizes that the place is attractive (see my photos). UPDATED REVIEW: At one o'clock in the afternoon, I ordered from the area of the menu which says, " breakfast all day." I had three scrambled eggs, small cubed home fries, ham and challah bread. Jelly and Greenland salted butter came on the side with the order. They have a new chef whose home fries I did not care for. Instead of putting bread on a plate of its own, they put the bread on the plate with the eggs, thereby giving you a SMALL amount of home fries or its alternative French fries. The cost was, including tax, $24 + tip. It was the optional ham cost that brought the price to that level. They offer the eggs with an option to add Nova smoked salmon on the side, as was the ham. I had their coffee and enjoyed it. After leaving the above review about the eggs, I went back and had their oatmeal which was watery. It had a lot of fruit on it, but the preparation of the oatmeal, which should not be watery, was poor. My photos include the restaurant's framed image of the Brooklyn Dodger's Ebbets Field stadium and a flag landmark seen near the restaurant. I have included in my photos a number of different areas of the diner, including the bar where you can order from the menu being served at the tables.

Yelp
A Shining Star at Brooklyn Diner ! Thank You, Ash! My friend and I were visiting NYC on a business trip when we had the absolute pleasure of meeting Ash at Brooklyn Diner. From the moment he greeted us, his warmth and kindness set the tone for a truly delightful experience. Not only was he attentive and professional, but he also brought such genuine joy to our table with his engaging conversation and positive energy. In a city that never sleeps, it's rare to come across someone who makes you pause and simply enjoy the moment, and Ash did just that. He didn't just serve a meal; he made our day. His kindness, humor, and effortless charm made us feel like regulars, even though we were just passing through. Ash, we wish you all the success and happiness in the world, you truly deserve it! So sorry we couldn't go back on Tuesday, more meetings piled up for us! Thank you for your incredible service and for making our trip all the more memorable. Brooklyn Diner and this country is lucky to have you, and we hope to cross paths again someday! XOXO Panchali and Calina (The girls from LA )

Yelp
As a spot, in Times Square, to grab a bite and take a load off, Brooklyn Diner checks the boxes. They have an inviting atmosphere, a friendly and attentive staff, and a menu where anyone can find something. And on top of that, they have late hours. We stopped in for a quick bite while roaming around after a show and were pleased with our choice. Everyone in our four-some had a taste for a little something different and the menu treated us well. Personally, I had a turkey club and a strawberry milkshake and both were great and sizable! And tasty! My meal really hit the spot! Although our waiter switched just after drink orders, no idea why, we saw no curtailment of service or positive atmosphere at our table. He did a wonderful job of punctuality and attention. Will you be blown away at your visit here? No. But you won't be disappointed either. Go on, give them a shot.

Yelp
I came here for dinner. Brooklyn Diner USA is a modern diner with retro decor serves large portions of classic American dishes like hot dogs and chicken pot pie. Their chicken pot pie is their signature dish and sold out very quickly. The food I ordered all tasted delicious . This place does get very packed and busy. Friendly and attentive services. Because it gets really busy during peak hours, the food did take quite a while. But overall, everything was good and this is a very good spot for burgers! Ordered: Appetizer: Pigs in a Blanket $16.00 Entree: Smashed French Dip Burger $23.95 + Backyard Burger $24.95 Drink: Pineapple Mojito $16.00

Yelp
Late post: During our recent trip, we stumbled upon a delightful culinary gem nestled in the heart of Times Square. Intrigued, we decided to give it a try. My choice was the House Specialty: Chicken Pot Pie. What a revelation! The dish arrived boasting a flawlessly golden, flaky puff pastry crust, concealing a treasure trove of tender chicken, vibrant vegetables, and a rich, savory gravy that was simply unforgettable. The flavors were perfectly balanced. It's a shame they only bake a limited number daily, as this is a dish truly worth savoring. Be warned, though - the portions are incredibly generous; come hungry! We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking a memorable and delicious dining experience in the bustling atmosphere of Times Square.

Yelp
We went in to grab a quick bite and get out of the cold while we waited for the Harry Potter box office to open. We were blessed to have Ash (Ashraf) be our server. It was only two of us and we each had a muffin and coffee. Ash treated us like we're buying a steak dinners. His kindness shined through right from the beginning. I'm amazed by his ability to anticipate our needs without being annoying. You can tell he strives to offer a great experience. It honestly doesn't feel like you're in the middle of Times Square. We'll definitely be back

Yelp
My friend and I were faced with the seemingly impossible task of finding a nice spot to sit down for dinner (without a reservation) before heading to a show in Times Square. Thank goodness we stumbled upon this place!!! Ambiance is wonderful, it feels like a classic diner in all the best ways. Service might be among the best I've ever had, the host was very attentive without being intrusive and ensured that my friend and I had our menu questions answered and that the food ended up tasting good. And oh boy did that food taste good... I don't say this lightly, the Brooklyn Diner has the best chicken pot pie I've ever had in my entire life. And I've had my fair share of pot pies. The crust was amazing, crispy on the sides and fluffy on the top, HUGE chicken chunks inside (only order this if you're extremely hungry), and the sauce was perfect. I don't even know how to describe it, it was kind of orange-ish and just added the perfect flavor to the chicken and vegetables inside. My friend had the Gazpacho and Perfect Plate and was raving about both as well. So if you find yourself in Times Square in need of a sit-down spot on the fly, look no further!

Yelp
Right in the heart of hustle/bustle of Times Square. A seasoned waiter did a very good job. For lunch shared a large bowl of matzo ball soup and pastrami sandwich both tasted great. Soup won out -large matzo ball, lots of chicken. Sandwich tasted excellent, but for $28 didn't have much meat on it. Came with 2 slices of pickles & a very small bowl of coleslaw. Bread was great.

Yelp
Amazing food for a great price. Avocado toast with an arugula salad was delicious! Located near Times Square.

Yelp
Great place for breakfast. Biggest cookies ever!! Everyone was very nice and the place was clean and organized. Great experience.

Yelp
I'm so sad they took the chicken parm off of the menu. That was my favorite. I ordered the Alfredo this time and it was just okay. The chicken pot pie is huge and the best thing on the menu in my opinion. I hope they bring the chicken parm back. Average service. Restaurant was really clean and spacious. I will be back to try something else.

Yelp
As soon as we sat down, a cockroach crawled up the wall. We didn't make a big deal about it. After all we're in NYC. We braved through and ordered food anyways. Spaghetti w/meatballs, Caesar salad, tacos, and 2 milk shakes. The food was good, and was a nice break from all the commotion outside. I my was quiet and the service was good.

Yelp
Great breakfast spot. Kind of tight seating in the entrance area but the bar area is much spacious. The Pancakes had their own taste kind of like corn muffin flavor. Overall Great customer services.!!!

Yelp
I had the most unbelievably horrible time there today and it was all thanks to the "Host". I went there today with my wife right after exiting New York Comic Con expecting to have a good meal. The moment we walked into the diner, the "host" gave me a certain "look" and decided to stick both me and my wife all the way in a corner with very little room while there were empty seats right by the entrance which would have been much better. I ask if we can move to the seats right by the entrance and he agreed. We relocate to our new seats and our waiter was just great at first being very attentive and answering my questions about the menu. I ordered the Home Run Breakfast which is 1 Pancake (why the hell only one?), sausage, eggs, bacon and home fries. My wife ordered the Hot Dog. It seemed very busy so I expected the food to take a bit to come out to our table. The pancake was tough. Tough as in this pancake felt like it was sitting under a heat lamp or left on the griddle for too long because half of it was crispy (not a good thing at all). The eggs were flavorless, the bacon was very greasy and also flavorless, the home fries I did not have because I swapped them with my wife for her fries that came with her Hot Dog. The fries were actually pretty good and seasoned well. 15 minutes go by and our waiter passes by to check on us to see if everything is ok. I tell him no, not really. I informed him about the flavorless, tough food that was brought to me and he did the right thing by offering to replace my meal with anything on the menu which I respectfully declined because if they couldn't get simple breakfast food right I had no hope they would get anything else right except fries. This is where the absolute horrible time gets kicked up a notch... The "host" for some reason sees that the waiter and I are conversing about my meal and decides to step in and INSIST SEVERAL TIMES to get something else from the menu. So now I have a waiter on my right side telling me to get something else and now the "host" on my left side doing the same thing. I respectfully declined at least 8 times! 8 TIMES! I clearly stated that I wanted NOTHING MORE. I was going to finish up my fries and that would be the end of it. This is the part that really, REALLY pissed me off.... The "Host" decided to take my plate away with the food that I was still eating! I was still eating the French Fries and he LITERALLY took the plate away as if I was a child and said "I don't want you to eat this, I am going to take this plate away from you, please get something else from the menu." Normally, I would have flipped out at anyone who treats me like a child who cannot think for himself. I am a 42 year old man. The "host" had the audacity to treat me like this for no reason whatsoever. I was with my wife so I did not want to make a scene but the "host" decided to make a scene anyway because he also decided to talk over me at every possible chance he got getting louder and louder. That is when I gave up and stopped talking because the next thing out of my mouth was not going to be something nice. The "Host" then decides to ONCE again go against my wishes and had an order of fries sent to my table. I told the person who brought it out that I did not want the fries. It wasn't his fault at all. He had no idea what was going on so I cannot blame him. He was just as confused as everyone else around me who witnessed this whole ordeal go down. Coming to the end of this nightmare, my wife asked for the check and was informed by our waiter that there was no charge for either of our meals (I was not going to pay for my meal after what I had just been put through anyway). We left a tip on the table and were leaving the diner when the "host" who was standing by the exit was waiting for me to pass by so he could give me a super half-assed, insincere apology for what went down. I told him don't talk to me. He then proceeds to put his hands on me in a weird gesture of sympathy. I told him loudly not to touch me. I do not like strangers touching me. Who does? He then says "I was only trying to make things better". I inform him that you made everything worse the moment you decided to touch me. My wife and I walked out and I promise you I will never step foot in there again. If the manager or the owner feels like talking about what transpired today I am down to talk about it. I would advise anyone else to stay away from this place. Mediocre food, absolutely trashy service by the host's interference and a total break down of communication at every level. I only wish I had taken pictures or a video while this was all going down. 0/10 would never recommend.

Yelp
Stopped by to grab a quick breakfast and was shocked by the breakfast prices. Sure, it's NYC. Sure, it's near Time Square. But to charge $15 for eggs, toast, and 3 pieces of fried polenta (instead of home fries) is criminal. Plus an additional $6 for coffee (endless thankfully) and another $5 for 2 slices of bacon or ham. So you're looking at around $26 for a very basic breakfast, and there really aren't that many choices on the breakfast menu. By comparison, our local diners in Schenectady have amazing food, lots of choices, and would be about the same price for two people after tax and tip. Price complaints aside, the food was okay. The eggs were good, the polenta was yummy, but the bagel was 100% no Brooklyn bagel. It had great flavor, but was a little hard on the inside, and if you know good New York bagels, they are always chewy on the inside. The waiter was really sweet and nice. Brought me my own little carafe of decaf coffee, checked in on us regularly, and was very attentive. A good experience overall, minus the ridiculous NYC pricing.

Yelp
I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! We frequent New York often, and have walked past this place a dozen times, but this was our first time stopping in. Upon entering, we were warmly greeted and seated. The walled mirrors gave the illusion that the restaurant was larger than it really is, but this is the nicest diner you will probably ever encounter. The staff is extremely friendly and warm. With the upscale vibe of the space, you would almost expect the servers or hosts to be stuffy, but nothing of the sort. Ok, but we came to eat. THE FOOD IS EXCELLENT. First, the chicken pot pie is one of the most eye catching things I had ever seen. Not really a fan of chicken pot pie, but this one is unique. The crust is an experience all it's on. I will go back again and again for this dish. As good as the chicken pot pie is, the cheesecake blew me away. I like cheesecake. I search out cheesecake, but this is the best cheesecake I have ever had. My plan was to walk down the street for dessert, but I'm so glad we took the leap. The cheesecake is amazing.

Yelp
We made our annual visit to our favorite Times Square breakfast restaurant - and happy to report that the food and service were outstanding. We enjoyed the omelette, a mimosa, a spicy Bloody Mary, pancakes and the avocado toast - all very tasty! We were lucky enough to have one of the window booths - the people watching adds a lot to the experience! We had exceptional, friendly and prompt service from Yomaira. Thank you! We will be back!

Yelp
I loved the guacamole, but the burrito was alright. My mom had the fish tacos, which she said were average. The food is vastly overpriced, even for NYC. Staff was friendly!

Yelp
We had a great breakfast! Cute spot that looks like old New York! We will be back... we had the two egg breakfast with an everything bagel. Staff were great and some of the best coffee we had in NYC

Yelp
Food: 1/5 Our hotel warned us about going here, and we probably should have listened. Soo... we got to the restaurant at 10:00, and we didn't get a milkshake until 10:50. We came here after a nearby show on Broadway and got a spicy margarita, a side of fries, a side of bacon, and a chocolate milkshake. The bacon was not crispy or tasty. The fries and spicy Margarita were fine, but nothing to write home about. The milkshake, once it came out, was good. It's New York, so stuff is expensive, but all this came to a grand total of $47. It's worth the walk to get further away from Times Square and get a better bang for your buck. Service: 2/5 Our server was nice, and I know he was trying. We found out that 20 minutes after ordering, the milkshake machine wasn't even on, and we would need to keep waiting for the milkshake. The manager, also a nice guy, came up to check in and asked, "That's it?" when looking at my uneaten pieces of limp bacon. We told him what we thought of the food we got and about the wait for the milkshake. He offered to take off the milkshake and then looked over my shoulder as I tipped. Again, I think they were trying to be kind, but it's hard to be impressed with almost an hour of waiting for a milkshake. Atmosphere: 3/5 It's really close to Times Square, which I think is why it does so much business. It has a themed aesthetic, which is cute. It's tight quarters, but that's New York. I'm a little surprised this place has a 3.5/5 stars. I hope that means that they, in general, deliver better for other guests. I think this is the worst review on Yelp I've given, and I feel like it took a lot to warrant writing this up. Maybe one day they will have a chance to change my mind, but not on this trip.

Bondade C.

Yelp
Food was was mediocre. We walked by the restaurant because it was near our hotel. I didn't get a chance to take all of our food, but I wanted to make sure to get the huge pot pie that I couldn't finish. My son had the cheese burger with milkshake. Unfortunately, he took one sip of it and didn't like it. I tasted it and it didn't taste right. My husband got the steak that was advertised, the size should've been an appetizer for the small "bite size" pieces. Ridiculously expense for that small meal. The service was good. No matter how many times I told the waiter my son was a boy he kept referring to him as "her". Even when my son corrected him and said "I was born a boy, I'm a boy" lol. But can't really blame the waiter, my son is half Hawaiian and German, he does have a porcelain doll beautiful face

Yelp
Huge, and I mean, huge portions. We ordered the 2 egg, bacon, and pancake breakfast and the chicken pot pie. Both were delicious. Service was super fast since they get a lot of theater patrons. Nicer atmosphere than a typical diner.
google avatar

Peter K.

Yelp
Soggy avocado toast. Not so good potatoes. Classic breakfast can be easily screwed up.
google avatar

John P.

Yelp
Great looking place with nice staff. Unfortunately, I ordered a chicken taco and the size of chicken is kind of laughable. For $23 I found my meal neither fulfilling nor good tasting.

M S.

Yelp
I've had better corned beef and knishes but the staff were so friendly and I live that's it's not noisy and you can have a pleasant table side conversation. The French fries were awesome. Will definitely return

Alison S.

Yelp
Food is super fresh. Services was great. Quinoa salad is a must try! Free refills too.

Yelp
Though the prices we're not Diner prices, I have to say the chicken noodle soup is really good. Though they asked us if we had a reservation, they were able to seat us immediately. Very cool vibe and the ambience was definitely New York diner but upscale. Worth checking out.
google avatar

Alexander G.

Yelp
We walked past this diner a few times and made an effort to stop in. As many others have said - this is a great place, it's cozy, with tons of options for comfort food, but the prices are ridiculous. We were quickly seated, even though it was busy. They have a bar toward the back. Mirror walls make it seem much larger than it is. It sits just off Times Square, so it's a convenient location if you're feeling hungry and not sure where else to go. The menu offers a lot of choices; most things don't come with sides so you have to order separately. The food was delicious with big portions for our sandwiches. We enjoyed the ambience and fast service. If you're aware of the prices for what you're getting, it's worth stopping in for a meal.
google avatar

Avery D.

Yelp
I ordered the tuna melt. Pretty over priced for the quality of the food. I know it's Times Square so everything is expensive but I assumed a $22 sandwich would be a bit higher quality. The bread was just toasted white bread. The tuna was good. Overall it was a good sandwich. Nice restaurant and server. Had some lights up for Christmas.
google avatar

Jen C.

Yelp
This is the atmosphere I wanted my teen girls to experience in NYC. Great attentive wait staff, quintessential New York vibe and great food. It checked all the boxes. The only drawback is the pricing. I know it's NYC, but be prepared for the beverage costs just as much as food costs.
google avatar

Amanda K.

Yelp
I wasn't too impressed with this place. It started off bad because the ac was broken, but that's not their fault. Our server was fine but it didn't seem like she cared about us at all. I got the eggs Benedict with smoked ham and I thought it was pretty standard. I liked the side of dressed arugula they had on the side for it. What I didn't like was the home fries. They had good flavor but they were borderline soggy. Just a horrible texture that kept me from eating more than 2. My boyfriend got the Nutella waffle and it was fine. I didn't like the texture of the waffle itself, it was too dense, but when you put enough Nutella and bananas on top, you can't be mad about it. It also came with a side of whipped cream and another side of Nutella. I felt that the water glasses were a little dirty as well. This is a classic diner but I think there are better options.

Yelp
Great food. Ate here twice during our vacation. Items I really liked: pastrami sandwich, matzo ball soup for dinner and for breakfast their pastrami hash. Sooooo good. I would highly recommend making reservations for dinner. Breakfast was pretty open but we got there early- around 8:30-9am. Restaurant is very clean and the service was also exceptional. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Best place for breakfast! Omelet and coffee were perfect. Our waiter was Ash and he was amazing. Perfect balance of knowing what we needed before we needed it and our enjoying a beautiful breakfast. Go! You'll love it!!

Yelp
We had a lovely experience there this am! Big proportions and everyone in our family of 4 was happy. My tween noted: "Ash is the nicest waiter we've had in New York City." We had a lovely conversation and felt right at home.

Yelp
We stopped in NYC to catch a show and needed to get something quick to eat which would be good and fast. We stopped at this diner and we're quite pleased. I had the cheeseburger with a side of salad and my girlfriend had the chicken pot pie. My burger was cooked perfectly and hit the spot. The chicken pot pie was enormous and delicious. Great flavors fast service. We really enjoyed it.

Yelp
Fun and harmonic place to eat a great beacon burger and NY best Milkshake. Friendly staff and service was great!
google avatar

Bensy J.

Yelp
I really enjoyed their famous, all beef hot dog! I'm someone that enjoys an occasional hot dog but wow this one left an impression. Obviously its size makes it unique but the taste was also so delicious! I didn't even know this restaurant was famous for its hot dog until looking at the menu. What a great surprise! And as a bonus the staff was nice and attentive even though we were very close to Times Square. Highly recommend.

Mar K.

Yelp
The male receptionist was just plain rude and his attitude needs some improvement. He rushed us out of the place to wait outside (the sidewalk is their waiting area) and my child was almost hit by the revolving door while going outside. Not worth going there.

Yelp
Stopped by on the way to see Billy Joel at the Garden. Busy place but great servers, and despite the crowd, the ticket times were good. It is a tight seating arrangement, but everyone seemed to enjoy the meals. I did not order this but saw an order of the pot pie. It was huge and looked really good. I will come back with the rest of my family the next time we are in the area.

Yelp
Yum. That is how to describe the food. It was delicious and the portions are huge! The server was super friendly and helpful. Great place and we'll come back when in town again.

Yelp
I was pleasantly surprised from my visit to Brooklyn Diner. Initially, my colleague and I intended on eating at another spot, but the wait was atrocious. We walked by Brooklyn Diner and saw the empty tables. We were warmly greeted by the host and quickly seated. All the staff were very friendly. I ordered the Mexican Burrito Bowl and a Oreo Milkshake. The Burrito Bowl was really good! It comes with half an avocado, tasty chicken and chips to which was all very filling. The milkshake was good but not mind blowing. I think everything was great, except the price point. The food was relatively steep. Overall, good quality food and good experience. Worth dining here for a diner experience.

Yelp
I came here for a quick bite to eat. The inside of the diner was interesting, it felt like a 1960-1970 setting. Food here was alright. The chicken and waffles was ok? I suppose my stomach was bigger than what I saw with my eyes. The waffle was a rectangle shape cut in half with 1 piece of breaded fried chicken, the presentation could have been better, fries were over fried, it was brown, not golden. Their pastrami sandwich was okay, but then again I didn't try the more popular places in NYC. Service was good. This is a nice place to experience a vintage feeling diner. The milkshakes were alright, sweet, creamy and cold.

Yelp
The service was extremely friendly. The omelet was a little undercooked but everything else was good. The waffle was excellent but definitely a sweet treat:) the coffee was strong.

Yelp
It was rainy and all our party members were hungry. The food was super bland. The only thing that had taste was the hot dog. The pot pie was super bland and I wouldn't go there again just for the pot pie. The Mexican burrito bowl was flavorful as one of the members said. We also had the famous chicken sandwich which was ok. Still refer chick fil-a. The service could have been a little better and fill our cups a little more often. Overall just mediocre.

Yelp
My oatmeal was a soup. My partners breakfast was mid--one of those get you in--toss you food quick and flip your table for the next, meh. The place is kinda cute but the food isn't worth the decor. Staff (outside of cooks) seemed hard working and friendly

Yelp
The service was fast and on point. I stayed right next to this restaurant on time square. If you want your belly to be full for the day then go and stop in at this yummy place. Now it does fill up quick but it's well worth it. The food I had is pictured in my review and if that doesn't make your belly want to have a taste then I can't help you. The Huevos rancheros was hot and delicious. Now the plate offers a lot for what you pay. The tortillas that make the stack are just as delicious. So much food. First time I could not finish my whole breakfast: heck of you wanted to you could actually split that plate for two. They don't skimp on the food serving that's for sure.

Yelp
The food I got was amazing! I got the chicken and waffles and they may have been the best here that I've ever had. The service was great even though they did bring us someone else's order. The atmosphere is amazing and it makes you feel like the places is more expensive than it is. It was a little pricey, coming to about $23, but I think it was worth it.

Yelp
After a long day of site seeing on Christmas Day we were ready for grub and the bright shining facade of the Brooklyn diner just pulled us in. With a large group we always expect for longer waits and for Christmas Day in time square you wouldn't believe me when I said we only waited 20 mins!! Now when you think diner you expect chain smoking waitress and pit stained t shirt cooks but not here. This diner was up scale shirt and tie classy old school vibes! The food was stepped up as well! With the house special being a chicken pot pie I knew it was gonna be a good meal! The pot pie was massive!!! With large chicks of chicken, carrot, potato and the gravy with a pillowy soft top of pastry dough that is crave worthy!! The strawberry cheesecake was creamy and balanced not overly sweet and paired perfectly with a cup of coffee. Only downside is that I didn't order a manhattan while we were there because the classic vibes just called for it!

Yelp
So the three is not the food but the older male Waiter, Not the female waitress she was great. The pastrami hash was really good. The Hostess was welcoming with a great personality.
