I've been to Brooklyn Nails & Spa and have gotten some impeccable work here done on my nails by Julie. She is usually my go to person and takes very good care of me and my other two friends who I always come here with. I really hope she is available sometime this week so I can have my nails fixed by her.
Yesterday, I came here with my roommates and sadly, the experience was simply not up to par. Firstly, my first friend who came for a gel fill waited in the chair for almost an hour before someone was able to take her. I have gotten !!!very!!! intricate gel nails here done by Julie and with every finger having a different design, she charges me 65$. This time, my friend got two nails with designs and still got charged the 65$? You're telling me that a regular gel manicure is 35$ and you were able to charge her an additional 15$ per design? That isn't okay. Secondly, while 3 of us were getting pedicures, my roommate's massage chair was not working properly. This is fine, but she wasn't comped for her experience whatsoever, not even 5$. In addition, the lady taking care of her chipped her nail polish and when my roommate called it out the woman simply replied "Yeah, it's broken!" I'm glad she also realized LOL but she didn't even bother fixing it for her. Then, she proceeded to charged her 40$!!!! for a regular pedicure when the prices on the wall are much lower. Thirdly, my other roommate who was getting a gel pedicure had them cut way too short and didn't even bother sitting down for a manicure because she was so upset with the outcome of her pedicure. Thankfully, my pedicure went okay, but my gel manicure was done by someone who seems like they were getting trained. I understand that training is part of learning, but if I'm paying money for a service I would rather have the trainee shadow than actually work on my nails. This proved to be a poor experience again when I woke up this morning and my gel nails have all types of bubbles in them and my cuticles just look like a big hot mess. I then spent 10 minutes at the cash register going back and forth about the pricing of the gel manicure + regular pedicure, which very clearly states 60$ not on just one wall, but two. They were trying to charge me 65$ and only after calling it out like 5 different times was I finally offered the 60$ price. I am so upset by my experience here and felt so upset because my roommates did not have a good experience and in all honesty, neither did I. I will be coming back one more time for Julie to fix my nails before a dinner I have on Friday and unless she is available, I don't think I have interest in coming here again. I am so incredibly disappointed and wish I could give my experience a 5 star rating, but I simply can't. I really didn't want to have to post this review and I think the 3 stars I'm giving here are very generous, but as a very loyal and happy customer I hope that a manager or a supervisor can reach out and offer some form of compensation because yesterday's experience did not live up to the amazing time I've always had with Julie at Brooklyn Nails & Spa and I really hope it doesn't happen again. :(
