Very happy with my experience today at Brooklyn Running Co. From the moment I walked in the door to when I completed my purchase and left. Greeted warmly upon entering. Miquel was specifically helpful. I'm not new to running, but he showed me a few options and assisted me with my decision without adding any pressure. Would highly recommend these guys!

I’m so glad I finally stopped putting off getting fitted for running shoes and visited Brooklyn Running Company. Willa assisted me in-store and was incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and helpful, taking the time to assess to my needs even though the store was busy. I didn’t once feel rushed or intimidated into purchasing more than I came in for, I left feeling really happy with my purchase and genuinely grateful for how easy and enjoyable Willa made the entire experience.

I had a great experience getting fitted for new running shoes at the Brooklyn Running Company! Ky was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. She took the time to listen to my running history and past injuries before doing a full assessment of my running form. Her expertise was evident as she recommended shoes specifically for my foot anatomy and running pattern. She was very patient, answered all my questions, and her sizing advice was perfect. I left confident that I had the best possible shoe for my needs. Highly recommend!

My partner and I had the best experience choosing some new sneakers today! We felt a little lost about what sneakers would fit our life style best and Brigid helped us out SO much. I bought running shoes from Maura (I think that’s how it’s spelled) today and I went for a run right after. Literally best run I’ve ever had. The shoes are amazing and she was so helpful throughout the whole progress, I never would’ve picked out the shoes I ended up buying but I’m so glad I did! The attention to detail was really so helpful and everyone there was so nice and friendly.

So happy this place is here! Got referred from a friend. The manager connected me with Ryan who is amazing! He observed how I walked/ran and gave me several options of running shoes! They really know the products and I felt in good hands. Really happy with my new New Balances. Thanks so much will be back highly recommend!

The staff is extremely knowledgable, patient, and friendly. The associate that helped me find a pair of shoes was able to identify imbalances and asymmetries between my legs/feet just from observing me jog back and forth in the store a few times. They actually made me try on a few more pair of shoes and let me walk around the store for quite a while, even after I was ready to just settle on a pair that I thought were okay, just to help me find the perfect pair. They do not try to nickel and dime you or upsell things you don’t need. They actually suggested that for a casual runner like myself, an expensive pair of shoes was not necessary and recommended a more appropriate pair. Very satisfied with their recommendation. Have been running in them a few weeks now and running has been much more enjoyable. A visit is totally worth it, even if it is a trek.

Kate was absolutely incredible - so knowledgeable, kind, and patient. She listened to my running history and offered her genuine thoughts and recommendations. She watched as I ran on the treadmill with each shoe, and was so attentive. I left feeling confident and heard; I’ve never been to a running store with such knowledgeable and experienced employees. If you're a plus-sizer thinking about starting your running journey, let me tell you: Brooklyn Running Co. is where it's at! I stumbled upon this gem by accident (on my way to grab food, naturally), and it was divine intervention. From the moment I walked in, the staff was incredibly welcoming, and their "Beginners are our specialty" sign outside had me feeling like this was the place for me. The associate who helped me was so knowledgeable, she didn't just hand me a pair of shoes--she analyzed how I walk to make sure I got the perfect fit. Spoiler: I walked out with a pair of men's New Balances because my wide-but-not-too-wide feet needed something special.

Been a while since I had been here to shop for running gear. With four marathons under my belt on 2023 and Boston coming up in April '24 I've worn out all my running shoes and need a new pair for training. As usual, staff here is very helpful and really know their stuff. Picked up some gels and other items needed for winter runs. Always a good shopping experience here.

I do not visit this store much at all. Usually 1-2 times a year. They have all your running needs: sneakers, fuel, clothing. They seem to have a bit of staff who know what they are talking about so that is always a plus. The space here is cool. Not too big but not too small. They have two locations within Brooklyn.

I've purchased shoes from Brooklyn Running in the past. I was in the prospect heights location with my son. Salesperson Pedro helped us. I have never ever had such a non helpful salesperson ever! I explained that my son needed a stability shoe w a wide toe box because he still growing and is starting to develop bunions. Pedro at no point offered to feel or check the fit of the shoes he was trying on. I asked Pedro sacral times to check and make sure that the shoes were a good for my son. Pedro simply told us that, "he should just get whatever shoe he liked". I totally wish we had another salesperson help us. What made me crazy was that the other sales person (older man) was helping a customer by feeling the toe of the shoes their customer was trying on and kneeling down to look at their gait while they walked up and down the length of the shop. Pedro never got up off the bench or even looked at my son when he walked the 10 ft around the bench where we were. Mind you my son is very shy and was feeling backward when I asked Pedro for input or help. To make matters worse and awkward when we went to pay (I paid cash) I had nearly exact money to pay but was a penny short. I asked Pedro if he could spot me the penny. I found an additional quarter which he took from me and didn't give me back the change. The other cashier who was next to him rolled his eyes at him when he saw this awkward exchange. We only tried on 3 pairs of shoes mind you and we were very polite until the end. Please try to train and hire people who give a s**t about helping people.

I had this lady named Ella who was super helpful. She analyzed my foot, and was super patient and knowledgeable based on the tests that she made me perform for her. I would go there again but I ended up buying three pairs of shoes because I enjoyed their service so much and I'm not from the area so it will be a while before I go back.

Great experience this weekend when Gabe helped me at the Park Slope store- really informative, chill, the kind of guy that ensures repeat business.

This place is great! I have been having some issues with jogging and foot pain for a little while now. Nothing that required me going to a podiatrist, but rather getting sneakers that were best suited for me. BRC has a really good selection of sneakers and brands, like, Nike, ASICS, and Saucony to name a few. They also carry things like apparel and accessories. Their staff is pleasant and well informed on getting you headed in the right direction. The woman helping me knew what my issue was the moment I strutted down the "walkway" with my socks on. She quickly brought out 3 options for me to try and I could immediately feel a difference. I was on my way to buying the sneaker intended for the arch support i desperately needed. I even had the opportunity to jump on their treadmill to try out the incline and a light jog in the kicks I was thinking of getting. This really helped me on making my decision! I'll be back for sure.

An absolute time warp to the Williamsburg of almost 15 years ago, where nothing works and businesses survive on vibes, I guess. Thought I did everything right considering I was just ordering a color/brand of shoes I couldn't find elsewhere and just wanted to pick it up, be in and out in 5 minutes. It really threw a wrench in their script which was not selling things and more about running as a personality trait. Took a solid 10 to ring me up (despite placing the order ONLINE) and another 10 to get a receipt (went thru 3 sales associates who were ping-ponging around and not commmnicating with one another). Honestly, unless you want some F-you service or want to talk to someone about your new runner cosplay outfit, just order the stinkin shoes for delivery the old fashioned way.

Wow! I cannot express how happy I am that I came to this location and got the perfect shoes! Fahim was incredibly kind and patient and helped me with my pronation issues. Everyone at the store was sooo nice! It was such a night and day experience after having had an awful experience at Fleet Feet. I am so glad I came here and will recommend this place to everyone!

Came in for a new pair of shoes, Sawyer hooked it up with evaluating my feet/arch/gait, then pulled a few options and kept checking in to see what I thought/if I had any questions. Got me involved in the process which felt good!!! Ended up with some ASICS that will be great for training and the upcoming half marathon. Got some running accessories too and gels, the whole crew giving input, loved it!!!

I came here to purchases running shoes as my mission is to train to run the Steven Siller Tunnel to Towers run in the fall. About 10 years ago I was plagued by a sciatic nerve issue that I eventually overcame. I can run the distance on a treadmill although running in concrete and the effects of the pounding on concrete will be a challenge not to re-injure my back. What I loved about this place was there story. The owner Matt was a champion runner, gives back and is involved with the community and employees a diverse staff that are active runners. Their website spotlights and has a bio on all their employees. It also spotlights people in the community. It is a beautiful store with a wide selection of brands. Their salespeople are well trained and experts in their craft. They will talk to you asking qualifying questions,watch you walk, run and measure your feet so they can offer the best options. I was assisted by Kaitlin who was AWESOME! She gave me several options to try and they have about a 40 Ft running strip on the floor that you can run in to get an idea of the feel of the sneaker. I choose the Hooka One One Bindi 6. They are available in several different colors although they only had black on the store. I was able to order them and get them in about a week. They were by far the most comfortable, well cushioned and lightweight sneakers I have owned. The prices are equal to or cheaper than Amazon and it's worth the trip to Williamsburg. The store also has a great selection of running gear, and running accessories. I can also say that the staff are worlds more knowledgeable than your average sneaker or sports store chain. I would highly recommend them and will be back to see them again.

My tried and true running doctors for years. BRC is terribly obsessed with you as soon as you walk in the door. They foam over a good shoe and are equipped with nerdy shoe knowledge. In 2018 coming through with new running vibes, they sold me a Pegasus that I hated at first (not broken in)... then learned to love. 0 pressure, the choice was mine, and their return policy kept me at ease as a newbie. Six years later, they haven't disappointed. Great community shop (literally doing things within their communities as well). Here's to your longevity and continued success.

I walked into the store looking for some assistance. I left feeling stupid and laughed at. I will not be back.

I am not a runner and have generally been an online shoe shopper for the past 10-15 years (yes, I know), but after developing a number of foot issues in the past two years (shocker), I finally saw a podiatrist who recommended that I visit Brooklyn Running Company for a consultation and to purchase proper, high-quality athletic shoes that provide more arch/metatarsal support. I went to the Williamsburg location this past Saturday and was really impressed with the level of detailed information and guidance I received from the gentleman who assisted me. I wish I could recall his name--he was amazing (this would've been around 5:00-5:30 pm). He was very knowledgeable and took the time to gain insight into my foot conditions so he could provide solid suggestions, and I ended up with perhaps the most comfortable kicks I've ever owned (Hoka Gaviota 4). It was a really great experience overall, and I will definitely come back to this store even though I will probably never be a runner....or maybe I will be someday. :)

Hands down 5 stars. Worth 10. And I'm from LA where we take our sneaker stores pretty seriously. So while visiting family here, I was surprised I couldn't find a store in NYC or NJ that seemed like what I was used to, where they watch you walk and fit you with the right sneaker with expertise. Let's just say, I will now be buying all my sneakers in Brooklyn! I have a bunch of foot problems and I emailed the website to see if they thought they could find a shoe for me since I'm in no way an actual runner. Matt wrote me back a very friendly and informative email, gave me advice on good times to come, and told him to give a heads up when I was coming so they'd be able to give me lots of attention. Which they did, times a zillion. Here's where I should mention that I brought along my skeptical mother who does a million miles on the treadmill every day, my dad who would was wearing old sneakers that were ripping (he laughed and said it's ventilation) and my up for anything high schooler nephew. The teenager went first and had never been to a store like this, they usually go to Foot Locker like a lot of families, but he is athletic so it was good he went and they found a pair of Nikes that was perfect (and met my mother's style litmus test). One down. Next was my dad. He never thought anything was wrong with his old sneakers until they put him into a new pair of Brooks. It's been 2 weeks and he has not stopped raving about how much more comfortable he is in these shoes. He had been planning to get new Superfeet insoles and does not even need them with these super cushioned super comfortable Brooks. My turn. Thankfully I had given them advance notice about the various foot problems I have including a painful recovery from foot surgery after a bad break. I had always found Ascis to be the best for me but sure enough, Brooks was the ticket for me too... so much so that I snagged a second pair in another color. And I left my perfectly good Hoka One's in their donation bin, because there was no reason for me to walk around in shoes that don't fit me right. And then... my mom. Her first criteria in sneakers was the color. Yes, the color. I think at this point the entire staff was involved in helping her find a sneaker she would agree to that actually fit her properly. And hallelujah they did the impossible. We walked out with big bags of sneakers and big smiles. Will DEFINITELY be back.

Great running store! Found the most comfortable pairs of running shoes I've ever owned there.

Brooklyn Running Company is an independently owned running specialty store with two locations in Williamsburg and Park Slope. I visited the Williamsburg one and it was a bit difficult to find street parking since it was the weekend. When I entered I was immediately greeted by their staff asking how they could help. They have a pretty decent selection in store and you can also shop online as well. The sales associate that helped me was Kaitlyn and she was so knowledgeable. After watching me walk and bend down she noticed that I overpronate and recommended a few pairs of stability running shoes. I was between the Hoka Arahi 5 and New Balance Vongo V5s, and Kaitlyn recommended the New Balances since I preferred shoes that had more structure. I ultimately settled on the New Balances and I absolutely love them. TLDR: Shop local and support this running store! Their friendly staff will make sure you leave with a pair that you love.

I am not a runner. I played sports when I was in my teens but after a untreated injury I haven't been able to flat out run in over 20 years. I gained a lot of weight and finally found bicycling. I biked off over 100 pounds but my original injury has compounded and left my left leg and foot useless. With such a difference in bearable weight between my left leg and my right, finding shoes has always been a problem. I've easily spent over a grand on shoes I thought would help, but ended up hurting more and I only wore a hand full of times. I recently found a brilliant doctor that has done wonders for my foot pain. After surgery my foot size increased from 11.5 to almost 13 because my toes along with the ball of my foot was straightened and repositioned. Since surgery I've had 4/5 pairs of shoes trying to find the perfect shape/size for my new foot. Making sure the toe area is mesh for movement all the way to how much pressure my toes received from the degree the shoe sat on flat surfaces. A lot of factors go into my shoe purchases. And the main struggle is staying away from "dad" shoes. I finished lunch at Caracas and decided to walk to the Running Club to see if they might have something. A very nice, tall, blonde sales lady commented on my Atlanta Braves jersey and we briefly spoke about both being born in 83. I looked around for a while but couldn't really find anything new that I thought would help. I decided to at least make the trip worth it and ask her if she couldn't help me find something that would work.....given the fact that she looked like she was ready to run 100 miles, without stopping, at a moments notice. I quickly explained my problem and she said she had a few shoes that might help.....that also didn't look like "dad" shoes. She came back with four chooses. When she handed me the first pair a close friend commented that the shoe actually looked like my foot(flat as a board). When I put it on it was like wearing shoes for the first time. When my foot slid in and I placed it on the ground it felt perfect. Along with my brilliant doctor(Steven Sheskier MD) and the expert help from the Running Club my feet have been100% pain free for the first time in almost 20 years. THANK YOU!!!

She helped determine the right dimensions for my shoe and was very insightful on what would be best for my feet. 10/10 would recommend to stop by if you want to get the 'right' running shoes for your feet.

Excellent. That should be all to say. But I'll elaborate... I cannot be more grateful for their service and selections - they are example how every store should be. Long story short - few month back I bought sneakers online from other source, without trying them on. Shame on me - despite glorious reviews, brand name & high price tag, they were most terrible running shoes on face of the planet. Tired of spasms, pain and discomfort, I called few stores for advice... Brooklyn Running company came thru with shining colors - not only they listened and knew what they talking about, they checked on sizes in inventory and answered all my questions. I drove to the store same day, and after trying on few different brands, walked out with pair of 860s that fit like a glove. Light, comfortable, dream to run in. Thank you, Brooklyn Running company - I can run again, and feel good running.

Isadora spent a ton of time with me to understand my situation/needs and even stayed a half hour past the end of her shift to make sure I found the right shoes! At the end of the day everyone is selling the same gear. Brooklyn Running Company separates itself with a personal touch on the service side of things. Will definitely return when it is time for a new pair of shoes.

Absolutely essential! I can't think of anywhere else we can get this level of indepth advice, insight and help for choosing running shoes and supplies. Thoughtful and easygoing staff help navigate the nuances of picking the right shoe, with detailed breakdowns of each shoe model's pros and cons. Zero judgement or attitude, and a willingness to educate anyone with questions.

This is a great store with great, personalized service. Special shout-out to Justin for his active listening, careful fitting and good advice that led me to purchase a pair of Brooks Adrenalines. I wear a 2E width and it's usually impossible to find in chain stores, but Brooklyn Running offered me a choice of 3 different brands. The Adrenalines fit like a glove, are light as a feather and give me great lateral support, as well as allowing me to use my orthotics. Thanks!

Hands down the best shoe buying experience of my entire life! Walked in and was greeted by Sergio. I was in search of a comfortable pair of running shoes and believe me when I say I ain't easy due to my ultra sensitive feet. To put it bluntly, Sergio was extraordinary and exhibited the patience of a saint. Ever so accommodating, he measured my feet, made adjustments to the sneaker where necessary asked all the right questions, and knew that I needed wider, not longer shoes. Due to Sergio's graciousness and professionalism, I knew I would walk out with a great pair of running shoes and I did. Never experienced such great service and this was definitely worth the 40 minute car ride to Williamsburg. I'm a customer for life. Highly recommend Brooklyn Running Company and thank you Sergio!

I got fitted for my first real pair of running shoes here back in 2018, and they served me very well but have seen their final day. Went back here today to get a new pair and to also get my husband checked out for new ones as well. Kate helped us out and was absolutely masterful in her ability to immediately ascertain details about what would serve us best. She never tries to upsell, but rather presents multiple options that she thinks will work and lets you determine for yourself. We both left with new pairs of shoes that fit our needs perfectly. No matter what your fitness or experience level, Kate treats you with respect. I can't recommend her enough!

Visited BRC for the first time this weekend for a fitting. I have recurring running injuries and had just bought several different pairs of running shoes off ebay that were not working for me so I wanted an expert opinion. Justin helped me and I was SO impressed by the customer experience. He really took the time to listen to my background and ask relevant follow-ups to help find a solution that would work. He watched me do a few exercises, walk, and run on a treadmill. Really knowledgeable, thoughtful, and attentive. I never felt rushed at all, we probably spent a full hour trying on different shoes and talking through options. I felt really safe there covid-wise as well. They have enough space for to spread out and staff was good about keeping masks on. It wasn't crowded at all while I was there so I can't speak to how they handle whether it gets busier. It ended up being a pricey visit, but not more than other running stores, and in my case I cared more about lessening/preventing future injury than the price point. I imagine if sticking to a certain budget is your priority you should just be very clear on that from the beginning so that they can keep that in mind. Love the shoes so far and will definitely be back!!

BRC was awesome. Isadora(I hope Ive gotten that right) was fantastic at assisting me in getting my shoes for the NYC Marathon. She was patient, professional and knowlegeable, and also a very nice person. The atmosphere is very positive and welcoming. I will definately give them my business for my future running purchases and I suggest anyone reading this does also.

I'm not a runner, but I did turn to Brooklyn Running Co. because I live nearby and I wanted to support an independent business. Also, the reviews were insanely good so I had to check them out in person. They are very attentive and dog-friendly. We brought our pup in with us as we were getting new shoes for exercising, and they were personable and kind. They do a pretty thorough walking assessment, watching your gait and how your feet hit the ground. You can talk to them to tell them what you're looking for as they measure your feet. For myself, I have wide feet, and I tend to value comfort over everything else, and wanted a stabilizing shoe. I did not have much to choose from, but they did have at least three options to choose-- I tried all three and picked the one that felt the most comfortable. For those who aren't as discerning as me, it may take longer. (For instance, my partner took around 30-40 minutes longer than I did to try on shoes because he didn't really know what he wanted/was looking for, and kept trying to decide between a couple options.) They were very patient and friendly, and asked us if we needed anything else. They have water available, as well as dog treats for your doggy friends. I will be coming here again to spare no budget as the service here is unparalleled! Thank you!

This was the best shoe shopping experience I have ever had and if you're even thinking about coming here, stop thinking, and just go! From the minute you walk in you can tell that the workers are so sincere and awesome. They truly want you to have the best experience and want to make sure you leave with the best product for you. They will have you take off your shoes, walk around, maybe even do some calisthenics but it's all in an effort to see what shoe type will best suit your needs. They even go as far as to ask you specific questions about why you're buying the shoes (I.e. training for an event, how often you run and distance, casual wear, etc.) Based off these things they will bring you 3-4 pairs of shoes to try on. I was in and out super quickly but I definitely did not get the vibe of them trying to push a sale and get me out of the door. I think I could've stayed all day and they would've been happy to help me. The interior is set up in a way that is pleasing to the eyes and very open. They do have a lot of products other than shoes but the space is not jam packed, which is nice. If you are looking for a nice pair of shoes, skip the chain sporting goods store and come to the Brooklyn Running Company. You will not regret this decision!

I appreciate so much how the person I dealt with, Justin, was so helpful, kind, and knowledgable. I had an old injury, I needed to use these clunky new orthotics, and yet he knew all about the bones in the foot, handled my orthotics for me, de-stressing the entire experience, and we found a new pair of running sneakers (to replace my disintegrating pair I had purchased there a year ago) in, like, no time at all. Super impressed. Exactly what you want a store like this to be. Very grateful they are in my neighborhood. Cannot recommend enough.

I have been doing some research for some ON running shoes and visited the store to try on a pair. When I requested my size of the shoes the sales person helping me immediately went "ew. Why??" It made the experience pretty off putting after that. They brought me shoes that they found to be better than the brand I was looking for and I never got to try the shoes I wanted originally. It felt pretty bad over all and wish that I had started talking to the girl that welcomed me into the store in the first place..

I came here after my knees started to hurt from running in my $20 Payless-bought sneakers. I'm trying to run my first 5K in April and knew I needed much better shoes than I had. I found the store after searching for "running shoes nyc" on Google. They had great reviews on Yelp and I was convinced. It's a Sunday today. I came in at around 1pm and there were quite a few people. I approached one of the employees of the store and she said she'd come get me in a few, she was just finishing up with a customer. I looked around the place. They sell really good stuff, and the store was very clean. After a few minutes Emily approached me and we were ready to get started. She had me remove my shoes and step on a foot measuring device. Then she had me walk back and forth and do some one foot squats. Then she came back and recommended a few shoes. Let me tell you, each one of them fit like a glove. I've never had shoes that fit my feet better than the ones she recommended. She was ready to answer any questions I had and even recommended some apps I could use to help me train for the 5K in April. She also showed me some socks that felt like clouds on my feet! I ended up getting the shoes and the socks. This place has some of the best hospitality in New York I've experienced so far. I recommend this shop for your running shoes/socks/activewear needs, and for some genuine running advice. They are so enthusiastic about newbies and are ready to help in any way they can. Highly recommend this place as the people are super helpful and knowledgeable. I've been to jackRabbit in park slope and the staff and selection does not even compare. Lexi helped me with my purchase starting off with a gate analysis and a couple of other things. We probably went through about 6 pairs of sneakers each with thoughtful recommendations before finding the right one that I liked. She also offered great tips for my half marathon training. For those that are starting off running like me this is a great place to go.

After visiting Jack Rabbit in Park Slope for my first pair running shoes I left lost and disappointed, the little bit of advice the staff offers is very generic, nothing that improves your running knowledge, keeps you safe or makes you feel confident that you are buying the right pair of shoes. Looking on line I found Brooklyn Running Company, so I made my way there with my running partner yesterday and I had one of the best customer experiences ever. The best words that describes the store owners are happy, passionate, ultra experienced, comfortable and dedicated to helping you find the best shoe for your foot. They have a great return policy and so it really is a win win experience right down to the fact that they put your information into the system for future discounts, and to store your receipt for possible returns. I have multiple issue with my feet and I felt so confident that I was going to get the right pair of shoes. My running partner wears orthotics and they were equally as knowledgeable with his particular needs. For anyone that loves to run, you know how we love to talk about it well that need gets met too, they share local events or talk about what they do when they coach or run themselves. Honestly I never thought I could walk out of a store and feel as good as I did. I never even looked at the price of my sneakers now that I think about it. Thank you Brooklyn Running Company....

I saw this shop in passing on my way to dinner. Decided to pop my head in on my way home and I am sure glad I did. It was the most amazingly friendly and knowledgeable shopping experience I've ever had. I had the pleasure of being helped by Kate and she did know her stuff when it comes to running, shoes, and even notice how my right leg is shorter then my left (only doctors have pointed this out in the past.) The store has a great product selection and great layout. They even have a little running spot where Kate studied my running style. I will definitely be coming here again. Thanks Kate!

My new favorite spot to get running shoes after JackRabbit turned into a disaster. It's a bit out of the way for me but everyone here is super helpful - they measure your feet, look at the way you walk, and are very patient with helping you find a shoe that fits just the way you want. Bonus, one of their staff (Emmy) is a physical therapist, so you can come in with all your questions about whatever issues you have while running (arch pain! knee pain! bursitis!) and she'll help you find the right shoe or orthotics. They also have an in store treadmill where you can try out your shoes and assess how they fit before you commit. Their selection in store is a bit small, but they can order directly from Brooks or whichever other brand you want and it'll get to you in a few business days. I ordered the Brooks Ghost 11 from them even though it was available on Brooks' website and could probably get to me faster if I did direct. However, Brooklyn Running is a really good, customer oriented local business, so even if you can get the same thing on Zappos or whatever other website, I think it's 100% worth it to support local whenever possible.

I do not write many reviews as you can see but I did feel compelled to write one about the Brooklyn Running company. The service and attention to customer needs here is unparalleled. I just started running long distances and was experiencing pains in my arch. I went to BK Run Co and Will asked me questions took measurements and picked out a running shoe for me that solved my issues. It was as if I went to see a doctor. Since then I've had no issues or pain. These guys really know their craft. If you run even a little bit run do not walk to the Brooklyn Running Company. It is for your health !

This place deserves all of their five star reviews and more! Extremely welcoming staff, very patient with someone who has been running for a long time but never was professionally fitted for running shoes before. No sales pressure at all (previous experiences I've had with running stores have felt like buying a used car!). Most importantly, based on analyzing how I walk and run, they recommended a pair of running shoes that were absolutely perfect for me. I trained for the NYC Marathon this year and was having ankle & knee pain. I went in after one of my training runs to see if I needed any kind of brace for my knee and/or ankle. Their amazing staff went through a few things with me and told me the issue wasn't with my body but with my shoes - I even asked if I should buy the braces just in case and they said "honestly do not waste your money." Honestly I would have bought them if they said yes, but they were honest and lead me to the right decision. I tried on a few pairs of shoes and after finding the right one - they made me run on the treadmill and triple check everything was ok. I even asked about a few products I had read about that might be good for runners - again they were completely honest and gave me real answers on if the products worked or would be worth my time. Running on my new shoes (which were a great price by the way) were AMAZING. I couldn't even believe I had put up with my old shoes for that long. I will tell you right now. I would NOT Have finished the marathon if I had run in my old shoes. THANK YOU Brooklyn Running - you'll be my #1 store from now on!

New customer leaving a review from my experience two days ago. It was AWESOME! Very helpful and knowledgeable staff that's willing to educate you as you make your selection. I learned about overpronation and what shoes works best for me. Loved the location and the interior aesthetic. They have a strip of Asphalt, as well as a Treadmill so that you can literally test out your sneakers before you purchase them, which I think is super clever. They also have accessories to accompany any purchase so that you leave in full confidence with running gear for your next race. They are a bit pricey, but the experience was worth it! Thank you!

I found this place just from a pretty cursory Google search looking for a place that could set me up with legit running sneakers. I've been running maybe 9 miles a week, nothing serious, but enough that my previous sneakers weren't cutting it anymore. I wanted to come here because I read that the staff here was super knowledgeable, helpful and would check out your gait to see how you run and I wasn't disappointed in the least. Kate was awesome and took to my questions like a doctor with a patient with a common problem. I told her my particular concerns and showed her my worn sneakers and she knew instantly which kicks to grab. I came here on a Sunday afternoon, so it wasn't crowded, but there were a few more customers than sales help, but Kate was able to ping around to make sure everyone was taken care of. I feel super comfortable in my new sneakers and they didn't come close to breaking the bank like I thought they might. Totally recommend.

Alice is the BEST!!! I've been running my entire life and I never knew the importance of having a great shoe. Alice had me do a few exercises and explained to me what she was looking for and how that impacted the shoes that would be best for me. That experience was so insightful and she found the perfect shoes for me! She was so nice and welcoming, answered all of my questions, and made me feel like I was the only customer in the store. Having moved here from Colorado, I was gravely afraid of not finding a running store with knowledgeable folks. I started off with another company and had a horrible experience (see yelp comments). Thankfully, that experience led me to BRC. I love their expertise and the trust they've garnered from many running clubs. Kate is the best! Don't waste your time with that other disorganized company. Spend your hard earned good money here.
