Google
Nice place, very fresh food, not cheap, wide variety of healthy and healthy-ish food, which is pretty cool. They have full vegetarian options (meaty too). From my pictures you can grab a little all-around sense of it.

Google
I honestly love this place. Staple in the neighborhood. FERNANDO is absolutely amazing and always finds anything that I need in store. They have a welcoming staff, perfect BLT’s, fresh/delicious bagels and strong coffee.

Cedric van Oene

Google
Great customer service, very friendly. The juices and bagels are very flavorful and fresh, generous portions of Lox 🍣. Amazing value for money 🤑 Don’t know why this place isn’t more popular. Easy replacement for Bagel Point if you’re looking for a good one.

Gabby Zeagler

Google
This is our favorite bagel spot in Brooklyn if not in all of New York. The bagels are amazing and you can’t beat the price. We come here every Saturday morning for our usual ritual. We get a bacon, egg and cheese with home fries and hot sauce on a toasted poppy seed, and a sausage, egg and cheese with cream cheese on a toasted everything bagel. 10/10🥯♥️ Update: tried a whole wheat everything bagel with egg white, avocado, arugula, turkey and provolone. Felt like a healthier bagel and still so yummy!

John Lindberg

Google
Yeah man this place rocks. The drip coffee is genuinely GOOD and the dudes working are chill. They got a good burrito menu and they only cost 7 bucks too. They also have just like tons of snacks and healthy options and a smoothie stand happening in the back.

ابو

Google
I got a tuna sandwich and a mango smoothie both were fresh and delicious! The sandwich was tasty and satisfying, and the smoothie was refreshing. Great service too. I’ll definitely come back!”

Google
Huge thanks to everyone at this place! The food, juices, and especially the salads were amazing. Special shout-out to Mohammed at the register — super friendly and professional — and also to the delivery guy for the fast and polite service. Keep it up!

Google
Not only does Brooklyn Standard Deli excel in crafting mouthwatering sandwiches and deli classics, but they also shine in their warm hospitality. From the moment you step through the door, you're greeted with genuine smiles and a welcoming atmosphere. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure that every customer feels like family, providing attentive service and helpful recommendations. Whether you're a regular or a first-time visitor, you'll be treated with the same warmth and care, making each dining experience memorable. So, for a taste of New York's finest deli fare served with a side of hospitality, look no further than Brooklyn Standard Deli.

Yelp
The best time to come here is for breakfast. Their smoothies have great options you can customize to your liking. The Mexican burrito with eggs, refried beans, and avocado is filling and tasty. This is a reliable stop in the morning on the way to the train if you live nearby!

Yelp
I've lived in the area about 6 years and come here often and don't feel like they deserve all the hate! They have great prepared foods, I get their salsa's and chicken salad and so much other stuff all the time. Their BEC is also solid. I mean it's a corner store, it's not top of the line but still a solid deli and a lot of vegan and veggie options
google avatar

Yelp
Great food, but there have been problems with our order the last 5 times we've ordered. Yesterday the smoothie cup was broken, meaning we only got to have about half the smoothie, the rest was all over the bottom of the deli bag. Today, I ordered a biscuit with egg, cheese, and avocado. Avocado coat $2, when my sandwich showed up, no avo anywhere. Called the store, sat on hold for almost 5 min. Then they told me they won't refund me the $2. So disappointing because when the don't mess up their food is delicious. Guess I have to find a new breakfast place.

Yelp
I want to like this place but the food is below average at best. The sandwiches are okay and the smoothies I've gotten from here have been subpar.
google avatar

Mira S.

Yelp
I really enjoyed my guacamole breakfast burrito! They have a ton of vegetarian options ranging from sandwich's to burritos. Prices are super reasonable too
google avatar

Melissa S.

Yelp
Friendly staff, inexpensive food, and great selection! I didn't understand the bad reviews and figured I would give this place a shot anyway since it was on my route when in Brooklyn. They did not disappoint!
google avatar

Yelp
Ok a bagel went from $1.50 to $1.75 to $2 within 2 weeks... they charge $1.50 just to add butter Staff is rude. Not worth it at all
google avatar

Yelp
All of these bad reviews are from years ago. Brooklyn Standard has the best bagels in Greenpoint that make the best sandwiches. They're fluffy, boiled bagels that remind me of Jersey. You wouldn't expect how good the bagels are but they're definitely better than Bagel Point's. I like the juice bar too. I get a small #1 juice. It's like a kale, ginger, cucumber thing. I prefer the juice over the coffee. The coffee can be watery sometimes. Again, a 3 star review is very unfair for this place.
google avatar

Michael R.

Yelp
If you're going here - ONLY get a bagel and cream cheese or their smoothies. Those are great. Everything else we have gotten from here has been disgusting and made us sick. Fatty and undercooked bacon. Oily and raw potatoes. Burnt eggs.

David G.

Yelp
The best - great to order food - Great packaged food - great smoothies - fair prices. It's so great I love it. Not to mention a wonderful staff.
google avatar

Christina A.

Yelp
First time ordering from here and I will NEVER do so again. Ordered a smoothie and a bacon egg and cheese on a roll. The spot is around the corner from me. This is how the sandwich was delivered (pictured below) and no straw for my smoothie. I'll leave this place to the hipsters.

Bruno B.

Yelp
The sandwiches we got from here were pretty fresh considering it was the end of the day and the service was great; not a bad price but there's definitely better sandwiches available within walking distance

Barry B.

Yelp
Partner and I get lunch sandwiches here. We always find them very tasty. Would recommend.

Yelp
If looking for a fresh and delicious breakfast burrito then look no further than Brooklyn Standard on Nassau Ave. Located only a few blocks from McGolrick Park, the deli hosts a diverse array of breakfast options to satisfy the pickiest of taste buds. I ordered the Holy Guacamole Breakfast Burrito, which was loaded with scrambled egg, potatoes, pepper jack cheese, pinto bean spread, and guacamole. It was scrumptious and costs $7.50. Service was fast and friendly.
google avatar

Michael H.

Yelp
Very overpriced and not the best vegan food I've had before either :( I don't suggest this place. Save your money and go elsewhere

Yelp
I ordered two vegan cannoli's to bring to my Aunt's beach house. When I arrived at the beach I noticed they were never put in our take out bag. It cost me $9. And I showed up empty handed and was so embarrassed. I also asked for Ketchup for my two sandwiches and the woman at the counter forgot to put the Ketchup in. I had to ask her again and she rudely did it. But when I looked there were only TWO ketchup packets. It wasn't even enough to cover bother sandwiches. They make mistakes ALL the time and the women at the counter are often rude. My friend ordered a vegan Reuben and they gave her meat instead and she noticed when she was two-thirds done with the sandwich. She was repulsed and just sickened. She called and they told her they would refund her and they never did. This place needs to do better.
google avatar

Jessica P.

Yelp
Quick and easy bodega style ordering. Great veggie and vegan options too! Got the veggie burrito with veggie sausage.

Marc S.

Yelp
Fast, easy, fairly consistent. Good vegetarian options and open late. They aren't going to pat you on the head though.

Yess P.

Yelp
I used to come here very frequently because of their selections and accessibility. But after receiving sandwiches with HAIR in it, more than once... I was forced to not order from here again. After the first time I brought it to their attention, you would think they would start to wear hair nets to prevent it from happening again. Nope, that wasn't the case. I really hope they make some changes with this food safety issue.

Yelp
I live around the corner on Driggs. When I moved here, I ordered for pick up and Lylynn was super cool to me - so I only continued going here to talk her up (Amanda too!). They are the sweetest and were always the best part of my morning (pre-COVID) when I'd grab an iced coffee and Cali Vegan bagel on my way to the train. I have been out on the west coast for the summer and I can't wait to hit up BSD when I'm back in town next month! Side note: if you describe a neighborhood as full of aging, snobbish nobodies, maybe you should move instead of antagonize essential workers!
google avatar

Pablo G.

Yelp
Note to the deli workers. You don't cut cold cut style pastrami ( Boar's Head ) thick. This turns it into shoe leather. Also makes the sandwich inedible. I had to take the meat off my sandwich The Jewel. Turing my sandwich into a one slice Swiss cheese sub. You need to slice it super thin and then put it on the flat top. Now I need to find a place to eat lunch again today.

Emily I.

Yelp
This is my go-to sandwich place. Their vegan sandwhich es are so good! Oddly recommend the one with the potato salad and tofu (ask them to cut up the tofu in the sandwich though otherwise it's just one patty of tofu). Their gluten free bread is ok. Their multigrain with gluten is a lot better. Smoothies and juices are always really good and really fresh. Their banana oatmeal vegan cookie is really good! Love this business! Quick and easy, highly recommend.

Yelp
Let me start off by saying this review is LONG OVER DUE. I hate leaving bad reviews and always give the benefit of the doubt, but the last time I went here was the last time I allow this cashier to treat me so poorly. I've been going here since I moved to the neighborhood about 3 years ago. The ONLY reason I continue to go is because the smoothies are AMAZING and the people who make them are so sweet and polite. The sandwiches are a hit or miss, but pretty good. In general, things are over priced but thats what you get in that area. However, the two girls who work the cashier are literally the rudest people. One much more so than the other. Every time I go I am reminded of how insanely rude she is, which deters me from wanting to go there again. I leave wanting to boycott it. So, I stop going for weeks or months and end up going back because I need to grab something quick and like I said, the food and smoothies are pretty good and it's a block away. BUT each and every time I go I am reminded on just how rude these individuals are. Again, one more than the other, who is the reason I finally decided to write a review. Half the time she's busy talking to her friends while I'm waiting to pay. If I ask a question, THE RUDEST response. Sometimes I even say hello or have a good day to try to be the bigger person and no response, just attitude. It's disgusting that she feels so entitled to treat people this way. I'm literally shocked that her manager hasn't addressed it by now. Maybe she's close to the owner? I don't know, but I can't think of any other reason a manager would allow such behavior... and after reading some other reviews, I see it's not just me. You can get decent food almost anywhere in NYC, especially Brooklyn, the service has a big impact on how your customers feel about your establishment. This kind of customer service discourages people from going.

Yelp
My go to stop for BEC sammys!! The staff there is so nice and welcoming. Usually LyLynn is working when I go and she always has time to greet me and makes me feel really welcome, especially in these times. Working service here during the pandemic must be very stressful since the place is Usually almost packed but LyLynn is always shining and you can tell she's a hard worker!! I recommend you stop by there when she's working :)

Yelp
Barely filled bagel and roll. Was half an egg used? This place used to be great and now it's a consistent let down. Last time my boyfriend had raw bacon in his sandwich and my Lox bagel tasted & smelled like it was fresh out of a broken refrigerator. Won't be returning anymore.

Yelp
Was suggested to come here for their great vegan tofu Ruben sandwich. I placed my order in the store with the girl at the register and literally said VEGAN Ruben twice. Came back to pick it up 30min later again asking for the VEGAN Ruben I ordered. Got into my dark car and decided to have some on my way home. A few bites through it I was thinking this tasted weird but have never ordered this sandwich before and my friend raves about it so ate some more. When I got home I unwrapped what was left and legit there was ham and Turkey! Meat alternatives are so good now that it wasn't an odd thing to not be able to tell. I got instantly sick! Called the store and they just gave a simple sorry and money back. Will never trust them again!! Not cool!

Yelp
My go to spot for juices, smoothies sammys and salads! Love this spot and that' it's open late.

Yelp
I always walk by this place and finally gave it a shot . Meh .... got a cheese steak it's wasn't good .. roast beef was precut rubbery mess(you could taste that it was old ) , peppers and onions were under cooked . And barley any cheese.. I gave them 2 stars since the staff was really nice and the place looked fresh .. I would waste your money's here's ... went for a second try this morning . Biscuit , bacon ,egg and cheese Biscuit should of been toasted Bacon was as tough as beef jerky Egg was over cooked Cheese wasn't even melted I'd love to see this place make Better food . The lack of basic cooking skills is just sad. This was a simple sandwich. Waited an extra 5 minuets because of lack of communication from the front end .... dear owners . Get your self some friend front end staff and some one who can cook . A person that can tell you that your ways of prep work and cooking hasn't correct . I think the staff is afraid to say any thing :.( I hope this place gets better ...
google avatar

Heather C.

Yelp
Love this place! I have ordered delivery countless times and it's consistently delicious. I usually get scrambled eggs, turkey bacon, potatoes, stewed tomatoes and a gluten free bagel. It's the worst when you get eggs that were made on a dirty grill and thankfully that has never happened! Thanks for being awesome!
google avatar

Christopher W.

Yelp
People who work here are nice. Food is usually good quality, but the preparation lacks consistency and results in just an "ok" in my book. Speaking of being consistent, whoever cooks the potatoes on Wednesday mornings consistently undercooks them which is disappointing. If they were a little cheaper, or the food was a little better, they'd have an easy 4 stars from me.
google avatar

Tony B.

Yelp
I love the standard, but, why does the head cashier choose to not wear a mask? Every employee who works there (5-8 people) had one on. When I asked her why she didn't have one on she said, "because of this thing." (Referring to a plexi guard with an 18" x 12" hole in it). So she must be immune from Covid-19 and a respiratory pandemic that decimated 33,000 new yorkers. Good thing, considering she serves hundreds of people a day in Greenpoint.

K M.

Yelp
excellent and yummy sandwiches and healthy fresh salads! This is always our go to place for packing a picnic!
google avatar

Jocelyn W.

Yelp
I try to hit Bk standard on my way into work in the mornings so I can get some delicious smoothies, snacks, hangover cures and a nice chat with the ALWAYS LOVELY Lylynn or Amanda. Anyone writing a negative review on the internet about being treated poorly during a pandemic at a busy bodega needs to re-evaluate their lives and understand that everyone is just doing their best. If you can't take the heat, go somewhere else
google avatar

S C.

Yelp
Brooklyn Standard is the best. Everyone in the neighborhood goes there to get their morning coffee and breakfast sandwich. The best part about the Standard is Lylynn. I honestly feel like we all go there equally for the friendly hello as for the food/coffee. She's the best.

Tamta G.

Yelp
Last two times I went there I found hair in my food. Staff who is preparing the food does not wear any hair protective nets. Disgusting.
google avatar

Eby G.

Yelp
I moved to LA recently and one of the things I miss most is the Standard. We don't have anything comparable here...fairly priced, vegan/friendly sandwiches. And while both locations are great, I'd usually go out of my way to go to the Nassau location, because of the friendliest staff. Lylynn has some weird Rainman-like powers of remembering EVERYBODY'S name and orders. I've seen her put in orders for people before they even got to the counter while on the phone with another customer, simultaneously waving to other locals she sees waking by the window. This brings us back. I visited recently after being gone for 6 months and she still remembered what I got despite my absence. But back to the food...best gazpacho...wish it were year round. Keep it up guys! xoxo

Pamela Joy B.

Yelp
Solid bagels and sandwiches! A short walk to McGolrick Park and you can enjoy your yummy bagel outside on a nice day. They don't have espresso but I don't mind. They also have fresh juice and smoothies towards the back. Refreshing! Convenient, no fuss, yummy food! I hear the breakfast burritos are good as well. Will have to try that next time.

Emily G.

Yelp
Drastically reduced ingredients on sandwiches. I've tried several times in the last few weeks as I keep thinking things will change but they haven't. A bagel and cream cheese has the thinnest layer of cheese that it can't even be spread out the cover the bagel. A ham, egg, and cheese probably has 1/2 an egg, 1/2 slice ham and I can't even see the cheese. It's so thin you can't even taste it. Cutting costs is cutting this customer and I'd imagine many more.,,,
google avatar

Jessica G.

Yelp
My favorite deli for quick & healthy munchies! The jerked seitan sandwich & Cali bagel are bomb. Lylynn is usually working when i go in and she"s super sweet and on point!
google avatar

Ali B.

Yelp
This place has terrible customer service (except for the smoothie/juice guy). Based on the spillover of customers on the sidewalk everyday, I've tried it a few times and always left wondering what I did to make the cashier hate me so much. The food is very mediocre and over-priced. My final straw was when I went in on a hot day and noticed an overheated dog sitting outside without its owner. Another customer was asking the cashier if she knew whose dog it was and if he could bring it water. She REFUSED to give him a cup of water, saying he would have to pay for a bottle. I'm giving it 2 stars only because of the smiley smoothie guy. Everyone else there is the worst.

Kate W.

Yelp
Confused by the other lukewarm reviews but I've been here a few times now and their sandwiches are great, they've got good ass smoothies, and they have decent coffee served by nice people.
google avatar

LeNi E.

Yelp
Always on time, sandwiches always fire. Favorite is Portebello. Smoothies are good too!
google avatar

Kelsey R.

Yelp
Got the turkey avocado sandwich with no cheese. Pretty big size and reasonable cost ($8). Totally delicious and love the thicker sliced turkey. My tummy is happy

Yelp
Well I would walk 500 miles, and I would walk 500 more... (for vegan food) After yoga class, I am usually famished and extremely salt depleted, so I am always on the hunt for salt (it is like my crack). So, I trek over to this place and boy was I happy to see all the VEGAN options. I read some reviews and I guess I was in the mood to have some VEGAN potato salad. I rarely ever eat it anymore b/c of the mayo. It is a pretty decent VEGAN potato salad, with a bit of a kick to it. I also bought a VEGAN banana chocolate chip cookie. Pretty soft and gooey. If you're in Greenpoint and need a good VEGAN option, this place could work. I'll probably be back to try other VEGAN goodies including their banh mi and also the fake chicken salad.
google avatar

Courtney C.

Yelp
I never wanted to give you a bad review.... Before I moved here, I would come to BS in Greenpoint every time I visited. I was so impressed with your vegan selection and knowing I could order a vegan + GF Bahn Mi was a dream. I always called it in. I would order "A Vegan and Gluten Free Bahn Mi sandwich to go". I told everyone about this sandwich. I raved about it. Within about a year, I ordered this around 10 times. And then I moved here, right down the street. I was so excited to be able to eat these ALL THE TIME. So much that I came in, asked where you got the bread because it was SO good, and when one of your employees emailed me the info I was SHOCKED that this bread is not vegan as it contains egg. When someone orders a VEGAN sandwich, you NEED to tell them that the GF bread is NOT vegan. This is incredibly irresponsible and disappointing. I contacted you twice on your contact page with a long note about this and no one ever responded. I am shocked that for as many vegan items as you carry, you would be this irresponsible. Shame on you.

Xxam I.

Yelp
just got a bacon egg and cheese croissant and a coffee and it was delicious and affordable. will be going here again
google avatar

Victoria V.

Yelp
Before I moved from BK I would go to the standard everyday. To get a coffee - sure but also popping in and saying hi to the staff became ingrained in my everyday. In a city where everyday life can really beat you up and ware you down it was such a beautiful part of my life to have place where people knew my name. Now this is a busy joint, and there is a lot of stress working behind a counter like that so don't get it twisted if you aren't greeted with a smile and hug everyday morning --- this is new york and these are real people working... be kind, be chill. It just sandwich after all (but god I miss my scooped out pumpernickel w/ CC + Tempeh Bacon+ Tom + Ava + Cuc)
google avatar

JR S.

Yelp
This is essentially a bodega with delusions of grandeur. Pricey despite relatively basic deli fare masquerading as gourmet. If you're a vegan this might be a decent alternative, especially if the alternative is pigeon on a stick. The biggest issue I have is the staff: consistently unpleasant and periodically rude. The winos on Nassau are more pleasant, even when they're screaming obscenities in Polish at you. I've given up on this place.
google avatar

Haley G.

Yelp
Let me just preface this by saying that I have never written a Yelp review before, so this is a really special moment/ I can't believe I'm wasting my precious time. The only reason I go to The Standard is because it's right around the block from my apartment. The food is decent, yet overpriced (but hey, what isn't these days). The real problem is the staff. They are some of the rudest people I have ever encountered. ESPECIALLY the girl that works on Friday mornings. This chick is a real gem- literally one of the most miserable people in Brooklyn. I'm sorry to break it to you, but your JOB is to be pleasant and hospitable. Go work at the DMV if you want to treat people like shit. I walked in and walked out today because of her attitude problem and I'm vowing to never go back so I don't have to see her sour face again. It's a shame that this place hires such shitty employees. I'm sure there are plenty of happy people out there that would work here.
