My first solo night stay and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience here!||All the staff were lovely and made me feel very welcome. I booked this place on the day of travel at a very reasonable price, and they were still accommodating enough to give me a later check out time with no extra charge.||The guy on the night shift was an absolute legend and chatted to me for a while when I got back from a night out, he immediately made me feel at ease.||No complaints with the room itself either (king room). It was a decent size and very clean despite having mixed reviews. Comfortable/soft bed, plenty of storage and a full length mirror. ||The location is right in the heart of the bars, restaurants and shops, but secluded enough to provide privacy. I was out for majority of the night so I can’t comment on the noise, but the courtyard seems to separate the street from the place very well to drown some of this out. I felt very safe with separate keys for the gate, the reception and my room. ||If I wanted to be nitpicky, the shower pressure wasn’t amazing and there was no hand soap in the room, but this wasn’t an issue as I’d brought my own. The room was very warm and they provide a small fan for this. I can imagine on the hotter days this would be uncomfortable as there is limited airflow. I fell asleep with the windows closed and fan off, so it was a little stuffy when I woke up.||Overall though my stay at Brooks really surprised me, I feel like this is a hidden gem. It was exactly what I needed and I wouldn’t hesitate to book again.

Overall it's a great place and slightly quirky (it's Bristol!). The location is great but you have to be careful about noise. I asked for a quiet room but was given 17 which is directly over a pub terrace which stays busy until 2 am. Not so much of a problem in winter if you keep the windows closed, but if you need them open in summer, it's very noisy, also again at about 5:30 when deliveries etc start up

This guesthouse is a brilliant find. Its location is fantastic for exploring the City and the array of bars and restaurants nearby not to mention the street food in St Nicholas Market. |The rooms are very shabby chic and we were lucky enough to stay in one of the 4 airstream rockets on the rooftop very unique experience. |Kyle the hotel manager was so lovely and nothing was too much trouble for him.|The breakfast was amazing with a cook to order menu and a variety of options.|Would highly recommend

What a disappointing experience. The staff are very good & helpful. So this is no criticism of them but the design & management of the business. The staff allowed us to park our motorcycle within the courtyard which was a massive plus point. However to get to the accommodation was a nightmare due to pedestrian zones etc.|The room is SO SMALL we could hardly move around. The sink is a "cloakroom" item that you cannot use for shaving. The fact that it was partially blocked did not help. The toilet is next to the heated towel rail that you burn your leg on when going to the toilet. I'm a porker so a 44" waist is not good when trying to get into the shower. Door handles falling off, window handles falling off, pillows without any substance at all and it was TIGHT round the bed.|Breakfast was good, not great. Honesty bar good, hygiene good. We checked out early. I would have loved to give a good review in particular considering the location and staff but they need to WAKE UP! As your sleeping on the job.

Nice area nice reception staff. So hot and stuffy once you pass reception.. route to room was extremely claustrophobic. Absolutely baking in room no aircon but found a small fan and asked for another. No vent working or window in bathroom (illegal) awful ‘free toiletries and tea and coffee very poor quality.. avoided breakfast, we ate at the Bristolian which was delicious. Poor value for money.. met a few very unhappy guests so I wasn’t the only one!

AvOID AVOiD AVOID!!!!!! A shame to be posting this review, as I never complain about but this was awful. Arrived with my husband early afternoon we both checked into the room and it smelt really bad the only way to describe the smell was like cat pee. We went to reception and complained in fairness the gentleman on reception couldn't apologise enough and gave us another room. Arriving to the new room it still smelt damp but we could live with it as we realised it was as good as we was going to get. After doing our day we arrived back around 8pm to get an early night as still recovering from knee surgery I can't do much walking. As the evening went on obviously customers was starting to come back we could hear arguments from rooms below so not to be a problem we turned the tv up it wasnt loud just enough to drown out downstairs must of falling asleep at some point. Around 4am we was knocked up by the hotel night porter to be told to turn the tv down and started having a go about snoring when trying to explain why the tv was turned up to start with he didn't care. Just dismissed us And he left. So we didn't sleep after that went downstairs to get drinks to try and apologise and sat in court yard In the court yard u could hear people having sex we was shocked as they had the nurve to moan about a tv being loud and snoring yet rooms and guests arguing and hearing couple having sex really loudly didn't seem to be a problem. Maybe u can book at this place by the hr as the night porter didn't really seem bothered. Trying to complain about our experience to management we got an e.mail back saying they didn't really care and we should of complained at the time. We did but got dismissed. We sat outside for the remaining of the night and as soon as we could get our car from parking area that doesn't open till 6:30am we left we tried to leave sooner but the car park refused to let anyone in. Management simply don't care and some staff members need to get some people skills. Save your money and book elsewhere. A good day ruined by this hotel don't make our mistake. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!!!!!!

A lovely quaint B&B in the heart of Bristol. Very pleasant staff and efficient . All amenities catered for . In the centre of an interesting market area but no noise was heard in the night. Plenty of tea and coffee in the room. It was nice talking to Josh who was working but still spent time with us and told us about the place . It was amazing to see that he also cooked all the breakfasts in the morning. All served like clockwork in a light and airy room by attentive staff. Car parking was off site but not far away. And you can leave baggage before check in time. Would go again.

Pros: Outstanding location. Amazing kind caring and proactive staff. Nice breakfast - feee if you book directly. Nice public spaces to relax, sit and meet people. Negative: The room was rediculously loud until 4am with the windows open. With windows closed it was tolerable but the issue is the room was so hot, like a sauna, even tho heating in the room was off. This was the only negative but really it made sleeping very challenging due to noise and heat.

Yelp
This was a super cute place to stay in Bristol...which was also one of our favorite spots on our UK trip. The rooms were probably the most nicely decorated of anywhere I stayed in the UK on this trip. There is a small kitchen downstairs where you can pay for breakfast. The staff are very friendly. I think the best part was definitely the extremely convenient location. The gated entrance to the hotel basically drops right off at st nicholas market...an outdoor hallway basically with permanent food stands. We ate here all 3 days in Bristol and the food is super delicious and affordable.
