Had a great breakfast experience at Brothers Breakfast & Lunch! My friend and I called our order in and only had about a 15-minute wait, which was perfect. I ordered the cinnamon swirl French toast combo and it was incredible—sweet, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. My friend got the coconut-crusted French toast combo, and he said it was the best French toast he’s had. The portions were generous, everything tasted fresh, and we left completely satisfied. Great service, great food, and definitely a spot I’d recommend to anyone in the area.

Great casual place for breakfast, brunch or lunch. Pork chops are excellent. They take 20 minutes but definitely worth the wait. Our server, Lilly, was fantastic. Overall, fair prices, good food and selection, large portions (enough for at least two meals) and excellent service. I've never not taken home food. My husband and I have been going there for years and its always been consistent. Highly recommend.

Great atmosphere, priced really well and we all brought food home and left full. The Morning Wrecker for reference. Could have used a touch of sweetness on the chicken, nothing a little bit of syrup couldn't take care of. Definitely coming back.

Ordered online with Uber eats. I HAD to choose cheese on my eggs for a dollar up charge. It was recommended with the pork chops. I never wanted cheese!!! I was forced to pick and buy cheese. To only get my cheese eggs like this. I just read the reply from the owner. The reply means a lot and Thank you so much for your acknowledgement. I would definitely love a re do order. Thanks for going above and beyond and helping me.

A family favorite. Always good food, and top-notch service. Fast service even on a busy Sunday mid-morning. Even if there is a wait, it's worth it. Favorites are home wrecker, steak skillet, iron man, brothers biscuits and gravy. Everything is always delicious, good quality and portions

The food came out quick maybe a little too quick because I had to send the hash brown back, they were barely cooked it took a while for my server to come back around and check on me so that I could address the issue properly maybe she was new and still needed a little bit of help but sometimes fast service isn't the best service is the food is undercooked. But the rest of the meal was amazing great flavor hot and juicy.

While visiting Merrillville, we stopped at Brothers Breakfast & Lunch and were seriously impressed. Our server was outstanding—friendly, fast, and on point with recommendations. The food was fantastic across the board, cooked perfectly and delivered hot, and the portions were huge enough to satisfy my huge appetite. Great value, great service, and a place we’d happily return to next time we’re in town.

Great place to have family breakfast or brunch! However it gets extremely crowded and congested which could be overwhelming. Food is amazing, services were great and the atmosphere was loud but family friendly. Also loved how they made Mickey Mouse pancakes for the kids and coloring a plus!

Excellent service, was seated quickly. The server was very friendly and the food was great! Best breakfast food in Merriville. I had the French toast combo with eggs and potatoes. Very filly with generous portion and lots of options on the menu.

Needed a local breakfast spot while heading to mammoth caves and discovered Brothers. The staff was friendly and a restaurant was clean. When we stopped, there were a large numbers of locals, as you could tell with the friendly interaction between servers and patrons. The food was flavorful and well prepared. I've been to numerous restaurants and they can never seem to properly toast an English muffin. I have to say that the staff at Brothers did it perfectly. Good color on both top and bottom. The only negative was the size of potatoes used on the skillet. They were huge and not properly proportioned to the rest of the ingredients. If they were smaller they could have been crispier, taking the dish to the next level. Overall, better experience than some of your national chain restaurants

Breakfast King of the Merriville area can't go wrong. Menu has many food options from kids to seniors. Coffee was fantastic has a bit of flavor to it like Hazelnut. The atmosphere was clean and mellow, restaurant traffic was a bit busy. The server i had "Abby" was the best she took my order, food came right away within 8 minutes or less. Abby kept assuring if i was ok at least 3 times and refilled my coffee. I would recommend this place definitely 5 stars it's worth the drive.

This is my second time going to this establishment. My first experience here was great. My server was a friend from high school and she took care of us. However, upon my second time going, we had a different server and I ordered waffles with whipped cream just like I did before. The first picture you see here is what the server did to my waffles. I'm not sure what inspired her to put whipped cream all over my waffles like this, but it was extremely rude. The manager was sitting in a table across from us, and I kindly ask the server if my waffle could be remade because I simply asked for whipped cream, not a funnel cake. The server went up to the manager, showed him my plate and he shook his head and caught an attitude with her. She came back to the table and asked me how did I want my waffles. It's not rocket science. I told her to put the whipped cream on the side because she clearly doesn't know how to apply whipped cream to a waffle. A few minutes later, they bring out a fresh waffle with whipped cream on the side. My friend sitting across from me ordered the chicken and waffles, and their meal was made correctly. However, this tedious process caused me to get the ick from this place. I will not be going back there again. I'm giving them one star because of how blatant and rude the manager & server was when it came to making my food correctly again. He did not come up to the table to apologize for the inconvenience. He just sat at the table and scrolled on his phone.

Came here on a Thursday late morning. It was packed. The French toast was huge & amazing. Scrambled eggs were good & I loved the potatoes that came with chopped onions & green peppers. Wheat toast was thick & perfect also. Prices are amazing for what you get. They recently remodeled, nicely done. Even the bathroom was remodeled & clean.

Since the manager told me I don't know the difference between scrambled eggs and sunny side up. Well here's proof you screwed up my order!!! You yelled at me and left me on hold!!! This is your fault for screwing up my order not mine. Beware of bad food and bad service!!!!

The turkey triple decker is my favorite! Also try the avocado toast with the scrambled eggs.

Poor service, plate thrown down, menu in face while pouring coffee that tastes like muddy water. Shows the respect they have for their cooks, I'm treated like I belong in the kitchen instead of being served. Different quality since father owned restaurant & others.

The split pea soup is DELICIOUS! The table tried the gyro rice bowl. It had good flavor and plenty of rice and meat. The gyro sandwich with a side of fries was good as well. I love fries so helping my grand baby eat his plate full of fries and real fried chicken tenders was GREAT and filling. The lemon rice soup was NOT a favorite at the table. The gourmet burger was cooked just right, hat tip to the chef, and well dressed with fresh lettuce tomato and onion. Lisa had great service and was helpful in our selections since this is a first time visit for us.

Amazing food for a great price. Manny the owner is always around checking on tables and helping in the kitchen. The staff is great and friendly. I have been coming for years and never left disappointed. It's our favorite breakfast spot!

Great food and the atmosphere is amazing. My server was Becky and she was friendly, considerate and very patient with me cause it was my first experience with Brothers restaurant. Nice size place; great for Groups or meetings with an excellent meal to match. The Hostess was Lovely and very Welcoming; I had the opportunity to speak with her while I was paying for my meal. I am So sorry that I can't remember her name but she was sweet as pie. Overall experience was Wonderful and they definitely give you more than enough to eat. So if you're in the mood for Breakfast, Lunch or Brunch this is the perfect spot.

Brothers is our go to breakfast spot we love this place everything is always fantastic when we go. The atmosphere is so welcoming and homey, the staff is always friendly and very helpful (Lily & Lisa are two of the sweetest and best waitresses we've ever had). The meals are very large and always taste amazing. For the amount of food you get the prices are very reasonable. It's always been busy when we've gone but I've never waited longer than 20 minutes which to me is not bad at all. I recommend the cinnamon swirl pancakes they are absolutely amazing and hit the spot every time!

This place is top notch. I've been told that the meat is brought in fresh. The service is good as well as the atmosphere. Everything I've had here has been very good. I highly recommend this place.

This place is disgusting. The service was mediocre at best. The tables are shoved on top of each other so you're constantly apologizing for bumping into people. The food was sooo bad. The farmhouse potatoes were hard and tasted raw. The onions and green peppers were also raw. The bacon left a greasy film on my mouth. Tasted like it had been sitting in a fridge and then reheated in the morning. The eggs were rubbery and cold as ice. The coffee tasted like the kind they give you at the hospital. I can't fathom how this place gets good reviews.

Met my daughter for breakfast at Brothers Breakfast and Lunch and I asked for no butter on my waffle and of COURSE it showed up with butter. I said "watch this" and tore a piece out of it. Flagged the waitress down and she said "Oh let me get you another one made". Guess how many times that same waffle with the piece torn out of it made it back to my table before I asked for the manager. If you guessed 3 times you won. And yes I spoke to the manager and owner, which were both wasted coversations. I didn't ask for anything to be comped. Paid for what I ate and left. I swear to God if you have food allergies, you are absolutely crazy to trust these people to listen to ANY special orders.

absolutely terrible customer service by management. I go to this place 3 to 4 times a week Monday through Friday and every time my order is never right and I'm told there's nothing that they can do or they won't fix it. Not sure who the manager is on duty in the mornings especially today.7/11/2025 but they need better. Customer service training and I was hung up on when I called to complain about my food. Awesome little spot for breakfast or lunch. The people are awesome and the food so good. We've had a skillet and the country fried steak. Today we had the Brothers Waffles and the Avocado Toast. The coffee is always good. Did I mention that I love the people? They do have a lot for parking.

One of my favorite spots for breakfast when I'm visiting Merrillville, Indiana! I ordered the Californian omelette with hash browns and pancakes. Everything was served hot and fresh and our waitress kept the coffee coming. I would definitely recommend and look forward to trying more menu options.

Pretty nice breakfast and brunch place with a pretty big menu. I'd say the highlight of our breakfast was definitely the service. Our waitress was prompt and attentive and did a great job overall. But, my wife and I ordered the chicken fried steak and it wasn't very good. It had an odd flavor and we couldn't say if it was the gravy or the steak. But, the eggs and hash browns were pretty good. I'll give them another shot. They were pretty busy so maybe it was just an off night.

The breakfast meal was decent. The most of the front desk attendants were kind and nice. I'll try them again in them future.

I will never eat at this place again I been coming here for years and today was my last me and my wife ordered over 30 some dollars of breakfast the manager was very rude and smart on the phone after I told her my food was not right she got very prideful telling me nothing she can do the this is not the first time but we said let's just try it again ....Lord was we wrong explain that we had no jelly or anything in the bag it was just she very bad attitude on the phone about my orders ..please if she is the morning manager this place will be losing a lot of good faithful ppl ...her name was Sarah...and if she does not change her attitude about the way she talk and treat ppl she will have this place going down .

Excellent rating because excellent service. I got the chicken and waffles and the chicken was fresh and not some mass produced chicken patty. Our waitress was nice enough to offer separate billing and was attentive and patient while we looked over the menu. I would go back for sure!

A great spot for brunch. We were immediately seated. Great ambiance. I would describe it as having a touch of the country farmhouse decor. Our server was amazingly attentive and helpful especially when I couldn't decide between two dishes. She suggested the homestead skillet as it was one of the specials. I was not disappointed! It included homestyle potatoes, tomatoes, onion, bacon, cheese, avocado, and topped with three poached eggs! On the side where some of the most flaky, buttery biscuits I have had. My friend decided on the chunky monkey pancakes (bananas and chocolate) with a side of bacon. Everything was delicious and so reasonably priced!! And I am a sucker for a good cup of coffee. Exactly what I got. Overall, definitely the place to come for breakfast! Just that type of diner feel with a touch of home cooking that you need.

Everything went well!!! The food is DELICIOUS and the waiters are AWESOME!!! Even tho it's crowded most of the time you don't have to wait long to be seated.

October 2021 - We have been looking forward to eating here for some time. The wait time was minimal considering it was a busy Saturday morning. I had a ham and cheese omelette with hash browns and wheat toast. My wife had eggs, bacon, hash browns, and toast. The food was outstanding and the portions were generous. The service was very good and was typical of a nice diner. We look forward to our next visit. I was interested to learn that these people also own two "Round The Clock" locations.

Today, was a first experience at Brothers Breakfast and Lunch. 1. It was crowded but not too long of a wait to be seated. I was acknowledged when I came through the door. 2. While seating at the table, the waitress walk by me 3x before she asked me what I wanted to drink, YET, the white couple behind me and the white family to the right of me, she thank them for the wait and ASKED them would they like coffee and water. 3. She came to take my order then stated she will be right back, as I was in the middle of speaking. 4. When my food was brought out it was luke warm (I was not sending back). Also I ordered French toast and I have to have diet syrup and she just brought me syrup without asking what kind I would like. 5. I kindly ask for my ticket and box to go. 6. My order was $20.33 because she charged me al la cart for everything, she could have told me if wowuld be cheaper if i add eggs (Fresh toast, hashbrown, bacon is what i ordered). 7. I did leave a $5 tip for the lousy waitress, HOWEVER, this outer towner will not be returning. Thanks Karen/Sandra for this horrible experience. Hopefully, you will take your staff through some diversity training but I doubt it. This was the old Round the Clock and they were good. #lostNEWcustomer. Most restaurants will have two registers to keep customers from waiting.

Didn't receive one of our ordered items, though we were charged for it on the bill. When we spoke with the manager about this, the manager actually accused the customer of lying. What? First time trying out this spot, and WONT BE BACK! Many better options for breakfast and lunch in Merrillville, so pass this spot and head to a better restaurant. Do yourself a favor and avoid this headache and non-edible food.

A friend and I went here on a whim. It is a lunch and bfast place. We got there an hour before closing which was 4pm. It was a diner like atmosphere which was nice. The menu was expansive. I decide on breakfast as the pancakes that kept passing by our table looked good. Settling on the banana pecan pancakes was a tough decision but I pulled the trigger! They were light and had a caramel drizzle - so tasty. The link sausage was cooked the way I like it, well done. My friend had the plain waffle and it was gone by the time I looked up. Patrons were far apart, masks were worn by staff and cleaning between customers was happening. The bathroom was clean as well.

I enjoy my time eating here. The staff was nice the food portions were good. The price wasn't bad. I like the set up of the decor.

After hearing friends rave about Brothers, I hopped on a flight from North Carolina to see what all the fuss was about. Let me tell you, this place lives up to the hype! Their breakfast and brunch are beyond comparison, with food that's a jaw-dropping 12/10 and portions that could feed an army. If breakfast is your jam and you're ready to eat like a king, Brother's is your culinary kingdom.

Really great breakfast options, seated quickly, and the coffee was actually good. Only giving it 4/5 stars because our waitress did forget a few things that we had to ask or remind her about, but other than that it was great.

me and my family come to brothers quite often because the food is delicious but recently we been getting the same server her name is Wendy who I think is racist and has a sucky attitude towards our family. when it come to serving other table she is so sweet and bring them more coffee and when she come back to serve us she doesn't say much is very rude.

I'm genuinely glad that others have had good experiences here, but unfortunately, that was not how my breakfast went. I was in the area visiting my family over the holidays, and I met three of my friends for breakfast here. We all got water and a couple of the guys ordered coffee. After a bit, we ordered our meals. I chose the butcher's skillet, which came with four or five different meats, eggs, and cheese over a bed of fried potatoes--basically heaven in my mind. Once the food was brought, and I took a bite of my meal, I was slightly crestfallen. The bowl had the aforementioned ingredients, but essentially no seasoning to bring it together. I mean that there was not even salt or pepper to add a little flavor. It was incredibly bland. Also, the cheese was hardly melty, which I think was a combination of the dish being not quite hot enough and the cheese being added right before being delivered to the table. At this point, I was pretty down on this place already. But then one of the other guys at the table found an eggshell in his meal. He brushed it off, but that is a cardinal sin in my mind. If you're a breakfast place, you can't be letting that happen. Even still, I understand mistakes happen. We continued talking and eating, and two of the guys said they really enjoyed their food, so I'm glad about that. But about five minutes later, I too bit into an eggshell. At this point I was very displeased. 50% of our plates came with eggshells at a breakfast restaurant. Not great. The only reason I didn't give a 1-star review is because our waitress was very good. She was polite, prompt, and helpful the entire time, even joking with us a little bit. We talked at our table for probably an hour after finishing our meals, but she told us to let her know if we needed anything, and still came back for coffee and water refills a couple times. Usually there's a huge drop-off of service when I stay to talk after the meal, but not with our server. We had great service, but eggshells and bland food make it so I don't plan on returning.

I have been visiting this place for years as Johnies. I was surprised to see it had changed. The menu and decor are all brand new. The food is still very good and service was excellent. Almost didn't come though when I didn't see the usual sign from US 30. Coffee is hot and fresh. The new owners are trying to get upscale and for a breakfast / lunch venue in Merrillville I think they have achieved it. I'll be back

Pretty good food and great service. I got their Steelworkers Omelet, which was really filling. Tried the coffee and it wasn't to our liking. They give you lots of food, by wife and son split a meal, and the place is well maintained. We appreciate the Yelpers who came before and opened our eyes to this diner.
