We are in Amsterdam for a short holiday ,went to this place for the first time to have a quick coffee and to rest for walking in town The place is cute , old design , basic furniture no decoration but you just look at the bakery and know how classy and authentic this place is despite being in 2025 they are not following any trend and have their own style and class I had decaf americano coffee with citrus cake dusted icing sugar on top that was soooo delicious and just like home made My friend had Millie feuille and was a big piece and very nice . They actually had too many options to pick from all freshly made and healthy Place have a seating area but on a top level so few steps up , Staff were young and friendly and super kind. Place was super busy and people were queuing to grab a drink/food

I recently visited this charming bakery, and it’s truly a gem for breakfast lovers! They offer a delightful range of European-style pastries, breads, and sweets, all of which are absolutely delicious. The cappuccinos and lattes are perfectly crafted, complementing the food beautifully. What makes this place special is that everything is baked fresh downstairs by the skilled baker and served straight from the oven. The quality is outstanding, with every bite bursting with flavor. Highly recommend for a cozy, top-notch breakfast experience!

We had one of the most delicious breakfasts we’ve ever tasted. The croissants were perfection. The granola was delicious. 10 stars!! The whole atmosphere was just lovely cosy vibes, will definitely come again.

At Brother Neimeijer, you can watch the artisan at work baking in the basement. And it truly shows in the breads. The cheese baguette was quite a delight. Opting for the mature cheese as recommended by the friendly waitress, the sharpness of the cheese paired wonderfully with the crunch of the freshly baked baguette. The sandwich was served with a simple, fresh side salad and tangy wholegrain mustard that added a delicious zest to the meal. The staff running the bakery were excellent, attentive and friendly, making sure the dining experience was pleasant throughout. All in, it was a simple but exceptionally delicious bite at a charming bakery known for its dedication to quality and customer service. Worth a revisit to try the other pastries.

The food was truly excellent – fresh, delicious, and clearly made with care. Unfortunately, the cleanliness could have been better. The dishes, cutlery, and table weren’t very clean, and everything was wiped down with an old, worn-out cloth. That’s a shame, as it took away from an otherwise very positive experience.

I visited a few times a couple years ago and just stopped in again for a baguette which was delicious. A nice crunchy crust and soft, chewy inside. Next time I will give their loaf a try. The staff was very nice. She added extra butter and jam for my takeaway. That’s all for now.

We went there for breakfast and both had a baguette (one with cheese, other with cheese and ham). The baguette had a nice crust, cheese made a nice contrast. Service was amazing and prices where very fair.

Google
Nice little place in a rather messy touristy street. Tasty bread & related stuff. Good coffee. Nice cakes. Quiet and pleasant. Sort of Starbucks but authentic, efficient, much better and nicer. Actually, not like Starbucks at all (apart from tourists flowing in now and then).

Yelp
Solid smaller pastries. Had the pain au chocolat which was small but had an adequate amount of chocolate inside. Had the apple tart also which was flavorful and not too sweet. Definitely no artificial flavors or added sugars like in America. Cappuccino was average and on the smaller side. Overall, good place to get breakfast or pastries if you are in the area. Baker is downstairs.

Yelp
This was walking distance from our hotel at Kimpton de Witt.  It is a French bakery with fresh goodies everyday.  We came here for breakfast one morning and ended up coming back the next couple days just to grab a pastry to go. I got a plate of four petit pains with jam and butter, a slice of farmer's cheese, Gruyère and free-range Sandaniele ham, a croissant, coffee, and juice for about 12 euros. We would come back for the freshly made Pan aux Raisins.  It is made from the same croissant dough with added pastry cream and raisins. It was so delicious! My hip is growing sideways just thinking about it but it's so good!

Yelp
Yummy apple croissants and many other choices. The lemon tart was amazing. Coffee and espresso was everything Starbucks tries to be and fails at getting to. A wonderful start to our day in Amsterdam.

Yelp
The pastries are smaller, but they have so much flavor and they are crispy. I'd rather have one of these per year than unlimited ones from Costco. The jam is great too. It's kid friendly and the baker is downstairs so you can see her making break and pastries. We are definitely coming back this week

Yelp
this is what I couldn't put into plans because I wouldn't really know unless I arrived and tried it out for myself. Exquisite perfectly balanced as a sweet bread or pastry. Nothing gaudy about it imagine notes of eating something really well made.

Yelp
Tiny bakery with a solid charcuterie option to settle down with after traipsing around the tourist pack. Sold, warm, both crunchy and squeezy bread to slather in fig spread and munch out your "I have to go back to work soon, yuck" woes. Definitely stop in and sit up in the back so you can people watch AND have a conversation.

Yelp
Great fresh croissants. Go early because they sell out. I also got their brie sandwich to go and it was really good. Cute little bakery that gets packed quick.

Yelp
Definitely recommend a stop here! The salad and bread was perfect after going out the night before. The waiter was quick to wipe down a table for us, and took our drink order right away. He came back in a few minutes with our coffee and took our food order. The salad was amazing, loved the big slices of chèvre along with the fig balsamic dressing and toasted walnuts. I would have loved to spend a couple hours there and have another coffee, people watch and enjoyed a pastry or two! I ended up buying a fruit tartlette and a small "choux a la creme" for our train ride to Paris. Pay at the cash register. Great service!

Yelp
We were staying close by and came in for brunch. We got here early, but the upstairs seating area filled up quickly. When you walk in, you can check the pastry display and see how things look - Their viennoiserie looked pretty good, but the cannele looked less appealing. You can also see downstairs to where they're doing the baking. For coffee, they have milk alternatives. Their cafe au lait was pretty good. - Baguette with Dutch farm cheese (mature) : bread was fresh, and the boerenkaas was great with mustard - Saint Joseph: with vanilla cream - good flavor - Financier: we tried both the almond and the hazelnut Service was fairly quick. Pay at the counter when you're done. Cards accepted.

Yelp
Amazing pastries and coffee! Very nice wait staff and great environment. Highly recommend.

Yelp
This place is a must visit in Amsterdam. the wait staff was great and while the menu is limited what they make they make well. My wife and I ended up there 3 times for breakfast on our trip. They actually make all of their break on site and it smells amazing in there. Also I would recommend picking up some macarons as well.

Yelp
Today my sister and I went to this place to have lunch. It was nice because it was an early lunch so the breakfast card was still available (until 12) but the lunch menu was available as well (starts at 11). We were lucky because it wasn't very busy and the were a few good spots left in the lunchroom. I decided to go with a scone with crème fraiche and jam, and brioche with jam, together a cappuccino. It took the waitress a longgg while to take our order. She was totally ignoring us, since she helped other people and cleaned all the tables. I had to call her in the end, very annoying. She even sounded irritated when I did this. okayyy, not a good start. The food and drinks arrived quickly though and were really good. I really like my scone! nomnom. I already decided not to get to irritated so my time here wasn't ruined so I quite enjoyed the lunch. The place also looks nice and has a beautiful and high ceiling. When I went to the counter to pay and I asked if we could pay separately, this seemed to be a huge problem..??? So I just paid and gave no tip. This kind of staff really dissapoints me. Ignoring and makes such problems out of nothing, why??? Don't you like the fact that you work in such a lovely bakery???? Totally lame. I did really like their stuff and the things I did not try also looked great so I will be back, for take-away or maybe give the lunchroom another try. We will see how that goes...

Yelp
A great find (thanks, Yelp) when I was on a work day trip to Amsterdam. I stopped here on a rainy day, only to find this warm, cosy and friendly bakery. I checked my emails whilst enjoying an amazing latte with a rhubarb tart. Props to the owner for suggesting the tart when I was umming and aaahing. It was absolutely fantastic. I would recommend trying it (it doesn't look all that special, but IT IS!) I like the decor here, it's simple but spacious (a rarity for cafes in Amsterdam which are normally beyond cosy). I like that you can see into the bakery downstairs and see what's happening there. I will hunt this place out again to try out the proper meal offerings next time I'm in town.

Yelp
Nice place with good bread. I went there twice. First time with a friend where the place was mostly empty. At this time it's open space and overview was a pleasure. at the second visit the place was marginally filled but even this amount of people made the room fill with noise and the once pleasant place was somewhat spoiled.

Yelp
The best pain au chocolate I've ever had. A spacious and welcoming place. Don't forget to check out the gorgeous restored ceiling.

Yelp
Not much to say about this bakery. Had sandwiches with the outsourced Portuguese sardine pâté (delicious) and the bread from this shop was fresh and tasted fantastic. Also ordered the mocha latte. Loved that they used a richer dark chocolate as it did not sweeten the drink more than a touch.

Yelp
Incredible find just around the block from our hotel...thanks again Yelp! Absolutely delicious croissants, bread, jam, fresh squeezed OJ and coffee! All the while we had a show with the bakers doing work and the aroma was incredible. The petit dejuner extra (w fresh fruit) was outstanding...we'll be back tomorrow!

Yelp
A great breakfast or brunch place in an improbable location. Well, the street is definitely NOT one of the charming ones in Amsterdam but, between a tired souvenir shop and a seedy casino place here is your bread, croissants and breakfast food!!! They offer of course coffee and juice, ham, cheeses... all top quality and all organic. Quite a big shop with quite some tables on 1 and half floor, one big lofty place. Of course you can just stop by to buy their great bread!!! Yumm!!! My breakfast menu came with several different seeds flavors, butter, jam, ham, cheeses an croissant plus coffee and orange juice. PERFECT!!! This is served until 12.00 They provide also a good menu for lunch, sandwiches and all you need with them. Will stop by again for sure :)

Yelp
To all tourists who enter Amsterdam at the Amsterdam central station: go drink a coffee @ Gebroeders Niemeijer! It's one of the nicest places to drink a coffee and eat something small during the day in this area. The interior is simple and fresh and they prepare all the bread, bread rolls, croissants, cakes themselves. It is a little expensive (welcome in Amsterdam..) but it's worth it. Located between tourist- and coffee shops this a perfect 'normal' place to hang out! ;-)

Yelp
This is a very cute bakery in the heart of downtown Amsterdam. My husband and I came here for breakfast. It was very busy! We ordered 2 lattes and 2 pastries as they have bakery in shop! The latte was delicious - I had the chocolate one and they used dark chocolate for it! But sadly the pastries were so so tiny! I finished each one in two bites. Despite their great taste, I had higher expectations for their size. My order came to about 10 euros but sadly I was still hungry when I left. Maybe if I had ordered some of their freshly baked bread I would have left happier but sadly that was not the case.

Yelp
It always amazes me how many gems are to be found in tourist alley. This French oriented bakery is definitely one of them. I for one am totally hooked on their walnut-fig bread but they have tons of other delicious pastries and bread. Take some of the gold home or to your hotel, go for lunch or go for breakfast....doesn't matter: just go :-)

Yelp
Famous famous famous and for good reason. A simple croissant will prove their worth especially in a city where most places make their pastries from the freezer.

Yelp
We are staying around the corner from this wonderful locally owned bakery. Everything is made from scratch, the fragrance is intoxicating, and you can watch the bakers working on the lower floor of the café. The only reason why we are not giving this bakery five stars is that we are not as impressed with the coffee as we are with the baked goods. The croissants are super yummy, so is the brioche, and the tiny chocolate croissants are delightful too.

Yelp
Still my favorite breakfast bakery in amsterdam. Almost went there for breakfast every weekend fot the last months. Also if you are a little bit late for official breakfast, like we are very often, you can order a great big collection of cheese and sausages. And by the way: the hot chocolate here is undefeated. One of the best i ever drunk.

Yelp
Stopped in on our way to the train station for a delicious and simple French breakfast. So good! The croissant was brilliant, the orange juice fresh pressed, and the cafe au lait so mouthwateringly good after a week of espresso
google avatar

Yelp
I enjoy both the items on the menu (amazing salads, soups, and of course, the most delicious bread) AND the sweets you can buy to take home. My favorite so far has been these chocolate cookies with sea salt. Amazing!

Yelp
One of the best bakeries in Central Amsterdam. Their breakfasts are expensive but worth it. Service okay but not terribly professional (better than average for Amsterdam, but that is not a very high bar to clear). Beautiful shop with a terrific early Art Deco ceiling.

Yelp
The french bakery (Ambachtelijke Franse Bakkerij) of the brothers (Gebr.) Niemeijer features a very nice selection of french bakery in a cosy setting, slightly off the beaten touristy tracks.
