I recently stayed at Browns Central Hotel in Lisbon and it turned out to be an excellent choice for a city break.
Location (10/10):
You honestly couldn’t ask for a better base. The hotel is right in the heart of Baixa, within walking distance of Praça do Comércio, Rossio Square, and the Santa Justa Lift. Metro access is just steps away, which makes getting to and from the airport incredibly easy. Everything you need — restaurants, cafés, shops — is right outside the door.
Rooms & Comfort:
The rooms are stylish, modern, and cleverly designed. There’s a boutique feel with fun details like Marshall speakers and tablet-controlled lighting. The bed was very comfortable, and despite being in a central area, the room was surprisingly quiet at night. The bathroom was clean and well-equipped with good water pressure in the shower.
Atmosphere & Design:
The hotel has a trendy but relaxed vibe. The lobby and bar area feel welcoming, with a cool urban aesthetic that fits Lisbon perfectly. It feels more personal than a big chain hotel.
Service:
Staff were friendly, helpful, and professional. Check-in was smooth, and they were happy to offer local recommendations. English was spoken fluently, which made everything easy.
Food & Bar:
The breakfast was fresh and well presented, with a good mix of continental options. The bar downstairs has a lively atmosphere in the evenings and is a nice place for a drink before heading out.
Overall:
Browns Central Hotel is ideal if you want a stylish, centrally located hotel with character. It’s perfect for couples or solo travellers who want to explore Lisbon on foot and enjoy being in the middle of the action.
Would I stay again? Absolutely.
