Brown's Soul Food

The customer service was great! establishment was clean. You also can dine in and they are only open on Sundays from 11am -7 pm. However the food is a no. We ordered two meals and house punch. baked chicken, dressing, and Mac and cheese. other meatloaf along with greens and sweet potatoes. Nothing had flavor nor taste to it.

My mom and I stopped in today after church. She got smothered turkey wings with string beans and dressing. Everything looked so good, bur all I tasted was her dressing. It was as good as it looked. I was in fish fry kind of mood so I had fried catfish with meat spaghetti, potato salad, and an additional side of greens. You get two filets and they are big, very meaty, well seasoned, with a light breading that gets perfectly crispy. The spaghetti has just enough sauce, the potato salad had eggs in it(as good potato salad always should), and the greens were flavorful with a kick. I got banana pudding, too, but haven't eaten much of it yet. From what I can tell, it's light on the bananas and heavy on the cookies, just how I like it! While we did take our food to go, there is plenty of seating available and the set-up is really nice. The staff is sweet as pie! Absolutely stellar experience from start to finish! Beef short ribs and fried chicken were both good. The Mac and cheese didn't taste good at all but surprisingly the dressing was on point. Only place with edible dressing. My sister says the catfish was bomb. Gravy was lacking taste. I like the place overall.

This restaurant is a hidden jewel! My husband and I were visiting Chicago and were looking for a good soul food spot and came across this jewel. From the chicken wings, mac and cheese, smothered pork chops, collard greens, yams and catfish plates. When I tell you everything was DELICIOUS!!! Omg I cannot leave out the banana pudding!! I can’t wait until my next visit because I will be returning. Everyone was so nice!! This jewel is only open on Sundays. Kelly

This food gives me body chills- it’s so GOOOD!!!!! I love trying soul food spots and this place has definitely won me over. The girlies there were all very nice and welcoming . Warm environment and fast service! Chicken 10/10 Mac 10/10 Yams 10/10 I can keep going! Definitely coming back!

So today I found this soul food place, I just want to say my one disappointment is that it only opens once a week on Sunday's, but I tried almost everything they had, I tried their meatloaf which is the best meatloaf I've had in this area, their baked chicken falls off the bone perfectly cooked, their candied yams nice and sweet, I mean everything was perfection. Loved the family atmosphere feel in their kitchen. And the banna cream was very well done, the peach cobbler was nice and hot and very good. Thank you Brown's soul food.

Great Soul Food and awesome service. The fried catfish and pot roast is so good. The restaurant is so clean and run by all family members. Mac and Cheese is creamy and good. Top it off with some Banana Pudding!!

No complaints but be prepared to wait as they are only open one day. So they usually have a line. Call ahead if you and get there early as they will sell out of something. But I enjoyed everything I tasted. And they are a very friendly crew. Will return.
