Brown's Soul Food

We found this restaurant by Google search. We had never been there and thought we would eat inside. However, they cater more to carry out although there is spaces to eat. There were a lot of people in and out so we had a good inclination that the food would be good. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. The food portions were very generous and the prices were fair. I had the smothered turkey wings, mac & cheese and greens. Anytime you get mac & cheese right you get two thumbs up for me. Great job! I’m from Detroit and I will be back.

My family and I were on a mini vacation in Chicago a few days after Christmas. My hubs had a taste for Soul Food. We are born-and-raised southerners from Charleston, SC, so we know a thing or two about really good Soul Food. Let me begin by stating that the hospitality was on point. We were greeted with a smile and casual conversation prior to placing our order. I ordered the baked chicken with green beans and macaroni and cheese. I wanted to try the potato salad but was hesitant because, you know, it's potato salad and not everyone prepares it "the southern way." The owner gave it to me, and my oh my was it delicious! My hubs had fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, and greens. My daughter opted for candied yams, macaroni and cheese, and baked chicken. Needless to say, we were pleased with our meals. Everything is cooked to order, so be prepared for a wait. We will definitely visit Brown's Soul Food whenever we travel to Chicago again.

I ordered the fried chicken dinner with green beans and dressing. I also ordered Mac and yams. All were delicious and well seasoned. The staff is welcoming. It’s pickup order only. I’m from Fort Wayne, In and I will be eating here every time I visit !

A proud regular of this neighborhood establishment. R&B and soul music with greetings make the environment homey, staff is extremely friendly and every plate is made with love and care. Portions are large, restaurant is clean, and food never fails to satisfy. Chose to dine in this week, food was steaming up until my last bite. The owner is kind, caring, and hard working. Always a 1000/10 at Brown’s.

I had been seeing this place for a while and finally had the chance to stop, and I’m glad I did. Even though it was busy and my first time, MeMe made me feel so welcomed. She was patient and gave me samples of everything to try before buying without me even asking. Now tell me that ain’t exceptional customer service. Everyone behind the counter was pleasant, friendly, and welcoming too. The place was clean and inviting. My smothered pork chops, dressing, greens/cornbread, mac&cheese, sweet potatoes, potato's salad, n don’t forget the peach cobbler was FIRE🔥. The food was fresh, delicious and flavorful. They got them hands, I’m definitely returning and recommending this spot for some good ole home cooking just like Big Mamma made. Kindly, Shennette S

I enjoyed my food, and the service was outstanding. I ordered the fried catfish, accompanied by two sides: macaroni and cheese and yams. Everything was delicious. If I'm ever in the area again, I most definitely would stop by. My order was to-go; however, there was a person eating inside.

The customer service was great! establishment was clean. You also can dine in and they are only open on Sundays from 11am -7 pm. However the food is a no. We ordered two meals and house punch. baked chicken, dressing, and Mac and cheese. other meatloaf along with greens and sweet potatoes. Nothing had flavor nor taste to it.
