A wonderful place, but if you want to gain the full experience you MUST purchase tickets online ahead of time. While we enjoyed our visit we were only able to walk around the outside since all the interior options were booked. There's also several options to choose from regarding which sites you can visit and length of stay. Suggest going to the website and review all options to avoid disappointment. Although we didn't go inside, the exterior experience was great value. Just note, they get you in and out pretty quick. They are all guided tours, you cannot just walk in and take your time. Important to know while there's some parking spaces near the site entrance, you must purchase tickets at the main welcome centre. Everyone will be brought in by bus and then you walk up to the site. If you just show up and park near the entrance, they will turn you away. Very last comment, the welcome centre has a terrific display to walk through and learn more about the area and the people who lived there. Well worth taking 30 minutes to walk through and read the information before you visit the site. Some terrific images on display and replicas of items found there. If you are hungry they have a reasonable cafe. It won't be the best food you have ever tasted, but it does the job and isn't unreasonably priced.

This was such an amazing experience! I highly highly recommend booking tickets in advance and getting there early! I arrived a little late and they kindly arranged me in the next tour so I really appreciated that. There was ample free parking! The visitor center is handicap accessible but keep in mind the tour itself will involve muddy uneven ground. The guides were very knowledgeable!

What an amazing trip and worth every penny. It's not too expensive and I'd recommend more than anything that you experience the inside of Newgrange tomb. The tour guides are very good and taking the time to walk through the visitors centre before going around on the bus to see Knowth and Newgrange is a must. The visitors centre has excellent facilities, café etc. I have been going here since I was young and I'll certainly go again. Everyone I have ever taken here is amazed at this place. Thank you to all of the guides and workers that make it and keep it so special.

Wonderful place to visit. You do have to book ahead on the website you cannot just turn up. But well worth it. Guides were awesome and the shuttle service works great. Cafe and shop expensive. Visitor centre really good and informative

I would highly encourage purchase of both Knowth and New Grange with Passage Tomb Entry. Knowth is large in scope with many carved kerf stones. New Grange is dramatic and going into the passage tomb with the demonstration lighting of the tomb is very impressive and moving. Some mighty astronomy was done in the day. Worth the time money and effort! Buy ahead online!

We did the 2 passage tombs and entry into Newgrange. It was a great tour. The visitors centre has a lot to see. The staff are all fantastic and welcoming. There are some delicious salads and cakes on offer in the restaurant, so I would recommend having a treat. The guides are so full of knowledge about these fantastic passage tombs that are OLDER than the pyramids in Egypt!!!!! Learn about how the whole area was shaped and lived 5000 years ago. If you like the ancient world this is a must-see. It is a UNESCO-protected site. The window box on Newgrange allows the sun on the winter solstice to travel up and light the inner chamber in Newgrange. Our ancestors must have had all sorts of advanced knowledge of the stars and seasons. This place is wheelchair friendly for most parts. There are toilets near both sites. I am not sure small children will understand some.if it, but they will love the visitors centre and going into Newgrange itself is a great experience. If you are claustrophobic and also for wheelchair users or restricted mobility, there is a replica of the tomb in the visitors centre so everyone can experience Newgrange and its mysteries.

Fantastic old passage tombs, a must see! Get there early! There’s lots to see at the visitor centre so allow some time for that. It’s a short walk from the visitor centre to where the bus loads. When you know what time your bus leaves get there early so you could get onto the bus first and get a good seat and get off the bus first so you see more! The bus tour is a couple of hours with the bus that takes you from the visitor centre to the both sites and back, I had a lovely sunny day. The bus stops at Knowth first with a walking guided tour around the outside of Knowth, there are many smaller hill tombs to see the outside of. The guide was very informative stick close to the guide and you will hear lots of good information and ask your questions while waiting for the crowd to catch up. You can’t go in Knowth but you can climb to the very top of it with the fantastic view of the area! Then the bus takes you to Newgrange. Here you could go inside with the guide, 15 people inside at a time, 30 people on a bus. Stay close to the guide and in the front of the line then you can go into Newgrange in the first group which gives you more time outside to walk around after the inside tour. Unfortunately, you can’t take pictures inside the tomb not allowed. I stuck close to the guide so I was first inside the tomb, something special about that to me! It’s a long passage to get inside and you have to stoop down the whole way. Inside I waited so I was the last out of the tomb. That’s my technique after taking many tours of different sites.😃

MUST SEE when visiting Ireland! Prebook tickets online due to limited availability. The full tour starts in the visitor's center where a multisensory experience will begin your journey. There is also a cafe for a bite to eat before or after your full tour. Next you'll be shuttled by a comfortable bus to the first site called Knowth where you'll learn the history and significance of passage tombs. You can experience the exterior carvings and climb to the top, however, interior access is prohibited. Next, you'll get in another bus to Newgrange where you will learn more and be allowed access to the interior passage! There's so much more to experience than I can put in a review. GO SEE FOR YOURSELF!
