Bruno's Country Club

This is a must stop for anyone passing through the area! Not only is it a historical stop, it's a fun filled bar and restaurant with good food and friendly service. My wife and I have been coming here for years if only to enjoy their homemade ravioli and of course, a tasty picon punch. I should note, the place can get quite crowded on a weekend evening but I think it just adds to the atmosphere.

Great place to stop before the Black Rock Desert. Pretty good food and very friendly service. Rustic interior. Two surprises. First was the amount of dust blowing in the wind. It looked like a Morrocan sirocco. Second was that there was a cigarette vending machine near the restroom. All in all Bruno's is a lot of fun. Really enjoyed the Philly cheese steak. Splurge the $1 extra for the onion rings. The wife loved the grilled bacon, turkey, Swiss cheese on sourdough.

There's a lot of history here. It's all over the walls in pictures and news articles. This has been a place for locals for a long time with a rich history of events significant to the area. I regret not taking more pics other than my food and the phone booth outside. There's a lot of neat stuff that went on, so I'm giving myself a pass. In the end - The food is great and the people are awesome, a great experience!!!

On the edge of the Black Rock Desert, about 90 m from any other civilization, lies the unique town of Gerlach. We stopped for lunch at Bruno's, where the obvious "regulars" ate. I had a mushroom burger & my husband had a cheeseburger, but we could've had ravioli freshly made that morning, not to mention roast beef that was on the menu! The towns people were quirky and welcoming and the whole experience was fantastic! Thanks!

An absolute joy and an institution. Great food. Great drinks. Great people. Just an all around damn good time.

This is a very unique and interesting restaurant! Gerlach is where the world land speed record was set and there are some great pictures hanging. For lunch I had the Gerlach Griller sandwich and it was excellent! All the lunches were huge portions so go in hungry!

After a long drive through some beautiful country you come upon a town and you need to stop at the place where they say you can get some famous raviolis! There isn't much here but there's always someone to welcome you at Bruno's and offer you a drink and some food. Lots of things sounded great on the menu, but we were told you have to try the ravioli so that's what we did. We ordered a large size and added an extra salad and it was plenty to fill both of us up. I was happy to find out that the ravioli were filled with meat Since we were looking for something hearty and not too heavy. The meat sauce was flavorful and the service was spot on. We arrived right as the breakfast rush was leaving and then a few locals came in as we were there but it was a quiet Sunday midday here in Gerlach. Stop in for some good food and a smile if you coming on through!

Stayed in Gerlach for 5 days and ate here every day. Never got tired of it. Beer is ice cold and bargained priced. Good selection of brews too.if you only eat one meal here you definitely gotta have the homemade ravioli. It's really tasty. The chicken fingers are primo! Team breakfast on our last day-8 out of 10 people ordered the haystack. Truly a monumental way to start the day. Didn't try the steak so no feedback on that. The only me I didn't care for was the tacos. I left hungry after that dish. Should have ordered a side with it.

Bruno's is great. we eat there as often as we can on our way north out 34. The food and service are good. Bruno was quite a character, I think he would be happy with the direction Bruno's Country Club is headed.

I wanted to love it so much. Native Nevadan and longtime burner so I've always wanted to stop by. On my way up to Massacre Rim I got my chance. In short... Coffee good. People: Awesome. Room: Forensics Files. Good conversations and passable desert cuisine in the country club. I can't say much about the hotel, I got in late, but the apartment side is borderline scary. Many stains, some sort of liquid in a puddle. A bed that made you think a malevolent spirit was going to hold you down in the middle of the night. I slept on the couch, but someone came knocking at 2am and didn't stop until I yelled at them. Spacious and reasonably priced, I'll give you that. Free ghost with purchase of a stay.

If you travel across this great state, you'll likely know about this hidden gem. Pecan's, breakfast, lunch or dinner is always on the the list when we stop at this place before you continue your travels. See you in 2024!

Bruno's is really great. There's nothing like a plate of homemade raviolis and a fresh salad after a couple days out on the playa. All of the food looked good, the raviolis are delicious and the salad was fresh and crispy. They're super welcoming and friendly, invited our dogs in and gave them water while we waited for our food. If you're ever anywhere in the area, Bruno's is something to look forward to!

Finally made a day trip to Gerlach and eat at Bruno's. Of course I had the homemade beef ravioli and they were delicious. They are as large as meatballs, cover with a rich and meaty sauce and lots of shredded Parmesan cheese. The young lady serving was excellent, very friendly and kept busy all the time. Do not be in a hurry, it takes around 20 minutes to prepare the raviolis, it's worth the wait. My salad was very fresh, chilled and topped with plenty of dressing. Inside was very warm on this cold snowy day. It's a fun day trip from Reno, I enjoy the back roads of Northern Nevada lots to see and eat.

It's Gerlach! You can't ask for much and I'm not that picky. The food was ok, drinks affordable, and the hotel gave me that warm fuzzy feeling of losing my virginity to a large truck driver named Dale. All in all, not bad. Stop in and get some food and a drink. Just don't stay there!

On a windy and sand storm desert afternoon, we stopped into Bruno's country club for lunch. Large place with a bar serving American food and breakfast. My hubby ordered the cheeseburger with no complaints. I went with the fish and chips. My fish was overly fried with a hard shell. I broke it open and just ate the inside. Decent food when you don't have many choices in the desert. The server was nice.

What an amazing find in the middle of a desert! If your wondering about where to eat, and you enjoy meat, this food is delicious. We are on a bus tour to Fly Ranch and have about 25 people in our group. Our group was offered a vegetarian lasagna option that is not on the menu. It was really good! I'm told the meat lasagna on the menu is loaded with all meat and no cheese! Hard to imagine lasagna without cheese, but if you love meat I'm guessing it's heaven. Bruno is apparently famous for his homemade ravioli. It is STUFFED FULL of a meatball sized meat filling. Everyone enjoyed it. Check the menu...They serve breakfast all day. That allows for some vegetarian options along with salads. AND I'm told they will accommodate food allergies as much as possible. If your hungry anywhere nearby, this food is nice to find!!! Stopped in at Bruno's for a drink and lunch. While I've never ventured in there before I have always known it was there as he is, err, was famous for his raviolis snd 'owning' the town; always had been a No NV legend. Glad I stopped in and had the raviolis as they were so delicious and the size of them was an eye opener! Husband had a Bruno Burger w/ham ( Los of ham) and a good sized patty w/green chilies and onions ($10) snd of course fries! Ravioli was $15 for large portion snd half a loaf of buttery garlic bread We could not finish our meal so leftovers for dinner! Valerie the bartenders was a fun gal to chat with as was another local. We will return! Place was VERY clean and bright w/no cigarette smell.

Had the Gerlach Griller, turkey with Swiss and bacon on grilled sourdough. Quality ingredients, generous portions, grilled perfectly. Fresh Kettle chips on the side which were a yummy treat. My husband had a burger and he said it was delicious (and it did look good) with the fried okra, which he also enjoyed. The server/bartender (I completely forget her name ) was really friendly and helpful. I'd definitely stop here again the next time we come back to through to The Playa.

After our visit to fly ranch geyser we were at a conundrum to find a place to nosh on. There was not much to choose from here in Gerlach. This was clearly hands down the best place around. The New York steak, chicken fried steak and pork chops were not bad. Other delights offered here were the fish and chips, fried cheese grits, fried chicken wings and okra. The specialty here was the ravioli but I found the pasta to be too rustic and thick. The breakfast burrito here was absolutely the biggest I have seen. Overall some found the place to be much better than expected whilst others were less than happy. An unexpected benefit was the wifi service here.

Amazing food all around. I drove up from Reno, just to eat. Everything on the menu is well priced and delicious. The drinks are proper boozy and the portions are beautiful.

After 120 miles of parched desert, brunos is right there after getting back on asphalt. A BLT, beer, gallon of club soda, and all is well.

Bruno's is a must stop if you want a great meal and a cocktail before you continue on your journey. Had the legendary raviolis and they lived up to the hype for sure. A super nice local couple sitting next to us had the special open face beef sandwich they looked amazing. Friendly folks, both local and from afar. Don't pass up Bruno's!

It's been a year since we've been there and yet here I am posting a review. That should tell you something. I've been meaning to do it...busy...no excuse... Fair warning, if you stay in their "motel" (mine workers dorm I think), beds are hard and rooms are spartan. Very clean. Cheap. Luxury is not why you're here. Hell, if you're even considering visiting Gerlach, luxury is not on your list. Restaurant was a blast. NY Steak dinner about $13. Sure, 8 oz steak, but how much do you really need. Fine deal. Best deal was Lacy, "The Mayor of Gerlach". More on that later. Coffee the next morning, next door at the Miner's Club. OK, not the only time I've been in a bar at 06:00, but the first time in decades. Same Lacy... same clothes! My kind of woman! Took the Fly Geyser tour. Do that. Back to Bruno's for lunch after. Had the full order of "Road Kill" ravioli. "Hey Bruno, what's for lunch? I don't know, what did I run over this morning?" Sort of a running joke in the place. (I think it's chicken.) Took half of it home. Great stuff. Lacy was in her Kentucky Derby attire. What a hoot. I'll go back just for giggles after I retire.

Always stop here while going through Gerlach. Good food and good people. Take great care of us every time we are there!

It may not look like it from the run down exterior, but Bruno's is a tourist trap. And pretty much a dump. The only repeat business they get are the parched, burned out DPW staff and people with no where else to go passing thru to the playa. The food is hit or miss, as I had a flashback to 10 years ago stopping here while at the Black Rock Rendezvous, and asking the server about Bruno's "famous" raviolis. "What kind of meat are they?", "I dunno", was her reply. Yikes. We came thru for the opening weekend for sage grouse, and pretty much the only people in there were hunters. The huge, newer looking sign outside said $10 buffet breakfast/lunch/dinner, includes salad bar and ice cream. Well, none of those things actually exist. The server was combative, rude, and insisted they had been cleaned out by the Burners. Um, a month ago? This place is on their main road...but somehow, they've been unable to replenish the salad, ice cream, buffet items or otherwise from Labor Day weekend? That's flat out false advertising! The service is lousy. Our food was okay, but we never received ranch or the extra plate we ask for, and our glasses were never refilled. Heck, she never even came back to our table, period! One person from our party had to go to the bar to get the check! So if "mystery meat" served up with a side of attitude is your thing, then you'll like Bruno's! The other 51 weeks of the year, non-Burners will be better off hunting elsewhere for a meal!

While visiting fly geyser, decided to swing by to get a snack. Ordered fried chicken with fries, breakfast sandwich and all meat omelet. Although it's a bit pricy in the small town, but it's delicious. The server/cashier is attentive as well even though the place looks busy when we were ordering food.

Who knew way out here in the middle of nowhere we would find such a delicious restaurant and great place to stay. The nicest people work here and I highly recommend Bruno's!!

We just received word that Giovanni "Bruno" Selmi passed away at age 94. The station staff was polite and calm. It took about an hour - so we spent our time in Bruno's Country Club and bought a tank of gas to compensate for the inexpensive service! On the spot car repair with a restaurant that has everything including decent burgers and WiFi Internet - most cities are missing this - and here it is in little Gerlach. Many people have great stories of him helping struggling families with housing and opening the gas station off hours when you needed it.

A local favorite. A must stop if you're hungry in Gerlach. Take a minute to read the interesting poem by the women's restroom. Our table ordered: - Fried Okra - Fish and Chips - Homemade Chips - Short stack of pancakes - Side of avocado - Hash browns - 2 eggs - Bacon - Bacon and Cheese Omelette - Mozzarella sticks - Vegetarian chili - Garden Salad There isn't a grocery store within 100 miles of Gerlach, so you won't find fresh fruits and vegetables on the menu. This is a fried food haven and sure to hit the spot after a long day of hiking in the elements. Awesome dune buggies and bikes parked out front.

We took a drive out to Gerlach, NV today and had a burger and kettle chips at Bruno's country club.... The food, service and staff were absolutely amazing. Very small town but the nicest, friendliest people you could meet.Bessie (with no "T") is the best!

For a last stop in the middle of nowhere before Burning Man? Not bad. The whole place was being served by this really really sweet lady. She was basically running all the tables & must've been crazy busy, but she always gives totally friendly and had time to give a warm smile and get whatever you needed. Total cost was $17 for 2 breakfast dishes. Not bad, gravy was thick and went well with the breading on the steak. The has was soft with well-crisped edges, though the soft part was a little soggy & oily. * Egg, hash, & toast - 3.5 stars I got the wheat toast, which was nice & grainy, but the bread was a little hard/old. The sunny side up egg came out good and worked well on the toast. The hash - same as above.

This place is a must-stop when in the Black Rock Desert. It was busy on the Saturday afternoon we drove through Gerlach, but the service was on-point nonetheless. I had fish and chips with the BEST tartar sauce I've ever had, like ever-ever. I wish I knew what made it so good, I really couldn't put my finger on it. Definitely made in-house, and the fried fish pieces were excellent as well. The hubby had a steak sando on soft French roll, with the hottest horseradish (added by himself) that's either of us have laid tastebuds on. Our only minor complaint was the fries, they were lukewarm and mediocre. But we were not that bummed because the rest of our food was decadent and filling, we certainly didn't to stuff ourselves with fries as well. The atmosphere is a mashup of bar/diner/VFW hall, rustic and cool.

If you have ever been to Bruno's but not in the last year you will be surprised the next time you go. What used to be a dimly lit, smoky bar has been transformed into a lighter, brighter space with a new bar and the food is now served in the new bar area. We stopped in on our way back from camping over father's day and even though I was starving I do not think that had anything to do with my enjoyment of the food. That is to say that my beef sandwich (recommended by the pleasant waitress/bartender) was delicious. Fries were crispy and hot. They had a nice selection of cold beer to wash it all down with. The place has not lost its charm but I am very happy with the updates. Don't pass this place up if you find yourself out near the playa.

The best place in town to get breakfast lunch and dinner! As a matter of fact we got all three of these meals this weekend. The service was good and everyone was so friendly. Bacon and eggs was solid. Burger was tasty and came with hot fresh fries. Ribs and salad was satisfying after a long day of exploring the country side. Of course I'll be back

Bruno's is a must if you are visiting Gerlach. Not only is it the only place in town, but the food is awesome and the price is right. Sometimes the locals are a little abrasive, and make fun of what you choose to eat/drink, but that's just part of the fun. Try Bruno's Famous Ravioli. Giant raviolis stuffed with meat and cheese, these things are crazy good. Whether you are hunting, camping, or burning -- Bruno's is the place to stop for some quality food and drink.

Bruno's is the only restaurant for 50 miles in one direction, and infinity in the other. There is the bar, which is a typical western bar with a long, full bar, a few chairs to sit in by the wall, jukebox, and bathrooms. Next door (through the doorway if you're already inside) is the restaurant. Bruno is a nice old guy from Italy. The place also serves stuff like burgers and fries, etc., as well as a few Italian dishes as Bruno is definitely from the Old Country Most yelpers will probably end up near this place on their way to/from Burning Man, and I recommend you stay away from this place during that time. Why? Because most of the Burning Man crowd goes in, uses the bathroom sink as a shower, and leaves. They probably aren't too happy to see you. On the other hand, any other time of the year it is a fun place to go in for food or a few bottles. The guy behind the bar is usually pretty friendly, the drinks are good, and they are cheap. I think I picked up a around of macro beers (not sure if they have anything BUT macro beers) for 10 people for a 20 with tip. Whatever it was, it was a steal by SF standards.

A little slice of heaven while I am out working in empire we sneak over here as often as possible. The breakfast is great and I love sitting at the bar. I was stoned and ate the entire western burger sitting next to some nice police officers one day. Great service and good food every time.

There are several things that can and will immediately grab my interest based solely on a key word. For example: Booze. Ribeye. Boobies. Historical Novels. I know, I sound so wholesome and shit. But mention any of these words and most assuredly, you will have my undivided attention. So my friend says "Wanna go on a Ranger-ride to Northern Washoe on Friday? I know you work, but it is always fun". Key word here is "Ranger-ride". (Sue me for my made up compound word). When my friends go on these expeditions we have a blast. We have a handful of Rangers, filled with coolers of snacks and Coors Lights. Going out and becoming one with nature is one of the why I love living here. And yes, I take time off work for the weirdest reasons. We always stop at Bruno's as is the only bar around these neck of the woods, and have become acquainted with the owner and the others who work here. It is an annual ritiual that they host a chuckar feed/golf scramble, proceeds go to a good cause, but some people can get rowdy here. I have ran away from a fist fight on some Gerlach trips.

Service was horrible. We had a group of 6 and re waitress brought out waters 1 at a time over a 15 minute period. Order a dinner meal with a salad and when my dinner came a friend asked me about my salad and the waitress asked me "did you want a salad" after I said yes she was more annoyed than she already was. Food was ok nothing special.

We split a full size ravioli, with two side salads - it was perfect!! Full bar, 1 beer on tap (bud light) - but a nice selection of canned/bottled beer. The place was hopping on a Friday afternoon at 1pm - but service was friendly and quick. Not a lot of food options here and Bruno's is doing a good job! We'll be back!!

My family and I went on a day road trip to Gerlach. I am a teacher in the WCSD, and out of curiosity wanted to see the northernmost school in Washoe's district. We saw the school and, despite our bringing peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for the kids, the adults in the party needed something more. Nothing really looked like it was open, but we saw a few people leave a building called Bruno's, so my wife ventured in (she is more adventurous than I, I freely admit). Anyway, fear not, the saloon is a great place (they sell Pepsi - which, to me, is the mark of a great restaurateur), the workers are friendly, and, frankly, we will be going back (at great gas expense) to get another grilled pepperjack, chile and roast beef sandwich!

Really nice people and great food. I had a very good steak dinner (too much food) and nice breakfast (country fried steak). Can not say enough about the great service.

I pass this every year on my way to/from Burning Man, and though it seems to have quite a bit of hipster cred, I'm always towing 5,000 pounds of dusty shit and don't want to/have time to stop. So when I found myself in this remote corner of Nevada in the off season, I figured I should finally check it out. Ambiance is GREAT -- rural diner chic, all linoleum, wood paneling and careworn waitress. Restroom is clean, and menu is fairly extensive. But I found the food lacking, for the price. My sis had the ribeye, which she said was OK. It came with some green beans and mashed potatoes, around $17. I had the "World Famous" ravioli...which I can't recommend. You get a LOT of ravioli with meat sauce ( and a salad) for about $16, but the meat filling tasted really weird, like Soylent Green -- they probably grind up bothersome wayward hippies who stray from the playa. Mmmm, cheeseburner and fries! I might come here again sometime, but it would be for something meatless, like pie.

The sign on the motel should be a warning... "Motel Guests, Please Check In with the Bartender at Bruno's Country Club" NOTE TO THE WISE, AND WEAK STOMACHED - IF YOU WANT TO STAY THE NIGHT IN THE MOTEL, DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT DO IT! My room was clearly filthy and not cleaned. I'll spare you the details, but I slept in my clothes on top of the covers, using an old shirt as an extra pillow case. Now I work around some pretty gross things, but this was the worst place I've ever stayed. Camp in your truck. The food was so-so, and quite expensive. The service is kind of iffy. The only reason it gets one star is the sheer fact that it is the ONLY place in a 50+ mile radius, let alone the only one where you can get food, gas, and a motel room.

I first went to Burning Man in 2013 and after meeting some new friends and traveling off the Playa together (after 10 hours in exodus) we came to Bruno's and decided to stop for a bite. The place was filled with dusty desert travelers post burn all looking to get a feed before continuing on their journey back to Reno or wherever their next stop would be. I unexpectedly ran into other people there I had met on the Playa. After all that to randomly run into them was when I realized that the thing I'd been hearing about all week truly did exist - The Magic of the Playa. We had a good feed and a good chat with our friends before saying goodbye and see you next year Two years later here I am going in for my third burn. And if it wasn't for Bruno's and a great bartender named Cameron I just might not be making it out there again. I made it all the way to the gates when I realized I'd left my ticket in my hotel room in Reno. Had to turn around and have my friends drop me off in Gerlach while I waited for another friend to drive up from Reno and pick me up. The search for another ticket ensued. And about an hour before my friend arrived to collect me Cameron asked a guy sitting three seats down from me if he was going to Burning Man and if he knew of an extra ticket. BOOM!!! Bruno's is magic and the Playa provides!!! I would recommend anyone going through Gerlach to stop in at Bruno's.

It's a classic Old West bar and cafe and the only place for miles around. As they say, this isn't the Middle of Nowhere, but you can see the Middle of Nowhere from there. It's on the Transcontinental Railway, so the trains come through at all hours. We stopped in many times on the way to camping at High Rock Canyon and the Black Rock desert, one of the most spectacularly beautiful spots in Nevada. No one's usually around the remote countryside here, which means you have pretty much complete freedom, but you're on your own, too. Bruno's isn't the Four Seasons and doesn't pretend to be. It's good basic food, which means eggs and pancakes for breakfast, burgers for lunch and you have to go raviolis with red sauce for dinner -- don't pass them up. The motel is probably one star, but the showers are hot and probably the last ones you'll see for a few days. Bring in any valuables with you to your room, most people are just passing through. My two young daughters love Bruno, he'd treat them to a Shirley Temple at the bar every time we came through town -- where else can kids feel freedom these days? Leave Mom home, this is a great place for kids and Dads. The bar is the motel office. If you're arriving late, call ahead (no cell service on the way out there past Fernley) and Bruno will leave you a key, you can pay in the AM. As the coffee mugs say it's "Where the Pavement Ends and the West Begins".

Wow!!! Amazing food! I never ever clear my plate but I ate everything and now I'm miserable but it was soooooooo good I couldn't stop!! Will definitely be back!

I didn't eat here. I didn't even stop in for a proper drink. My only reason for even going in here is because there is no liquor store in Empire or Gerlach and so Bruno's doubles as a packaged liquor store. Just walk in, tell him what you want a bottle of, and let the price gouging begin. I didn't try to negotiate, after all, I would like to stay on good terms with the only bar in town. They get a solid 4 Ninja stars for being a cool stop in a very quirky town, and I'll throw in another Ninja star for being the only stop in a very quirky town.

Looking for one last adventure before calling my summer trip to Nevada good, the parents brought me up to a remote town just south of the Burning Man site. Boy was this remote but had a certain charm to it that the locals seemed to be drawn to. Gerlach is one of those towns that is owned by a cute Italian man who pretty much put his stakes down and tried to help the town thrive. One of his many businesses is of course the town saloon or "Country Club" which grew on me after finding out it's a great place to get a good hearty meal whether you're heading to Burning Man or heading back toward Fernley (the other gateway to Burning Man). Grab a good burger, fries and smiles as you fill up your tank. You won't be sorry and I'd love to go back but perhaps in the Fall?

The food here is actually really good for being out in the middle of nowhere. You must try the ravioli, superb. The club sandwiches are massive as well. The service people are also all quality individuals. The rooms on the other hand... yikes. Terrible little shit hole in room 9. The TV dated back to the stone ages and the beds were straight out of a hospital psych ward. There wasn't even a PHONE in the room, yet it cost $42.00 with tax. Good grief. One star hotel in that regard. Just go camp out on the playa.

Motel: Bed was lumpy and the blinds on the window were only half there. Also, no air conditioning control in room and you can hear every time someone walks down the hall. Very dorm room like. However, my room was very clean. And, since it's the only game in town, it was much better than sleeping in my car. Now the cafe is a different story. Really good food can be found here. Kenny, one of the waitstaff is quite a cutup and funny. I love when he's there. He's fun to watch when he's wound up. I pretty much don't go through Gerlach without stopping for a meal at Bruno's. I've never been disappointed with anything I've had here, any time of day. And the service has always been good.

I've eaten here a few times over the years before returning home from camping in the Black Rock mountains. I've always been with a group and everyone has enjoyed the food and service. That's why I keep returning. Whoever is back there in the kitchen cares about what they are doing, and it shows.

I've been a fan of Bruno's Country Club for over a decade! I've been going to Bruno's since I was seven years old. It was always the first stop when I went camping with my family out in the Black Rock Desert. The food has always been great, especially considering that there isn't another running toilet within a 100 mile radius. Gerlach isn't the middle of nowhere, but you can see the middle of nowhere from there. If you can appreciate natural beauty in a quiet, desolate, and fossilized area, Gerlach is for you. There's also a lot of natural history involving Western settlers that you should check out if you're there. Be sure to go out of your way and meet Bruno (the owner). He's an amazing, kind, and awesome guy. Growing up, he was a grandfather figure to my sister and me. Bruno's holds a lot of amazing childhood memories, from learning how to drive a car (at ten years of age-thanks Dad!) to Bruno letting my sister and me sit at the bar and drink Shirley Temples before heading over to the dining area for some of his famous ravioli. I even painted a ceramic purple skull for him, which he put at the back of the bar (I don't know if it's still there, its been a while). The transcontinental railroad passes through the town (that's how Gerlach exists), so expect an early wakeup call, or prevent this by packing some earplugs. Besides the occasional rattling and beeping of the odd train passing, it's an exceptionally quiet and peaceful place. I would highly recommend seeking out Bruno's Country Club, having a couple of drinks, and meeting the amazing people that work there. Just remember, "you're in the country, son".

A pretty laid back American diner type place. It was attached to a casino bar so the smell of cigarette smoke was ever present on the way to the bathroom which was located near the back of the bar. The service wasn't bad and in fact our waitress didn't even work there but was just helping out because she was a friend of Kenny the owner. We had a huge group and they served us some average food, average coffee for what seemed like nothing. They even brought us extra food and said not to worry bout it. We had a pretty awesome time, the food wasn't amazing but the service was great and I'd def recommend coming back again.
