Great stay here . Rooms are comfortable and clean . Right in city centre with a bar right next door . Reception staff are always super friendly and I always enjoy my stay here . This is usually one of the cheaper rooms in Glasgow and I appreciate this as it’s such a fabulous hotel and I stay almost everytime I’m in Glasgow visiting

Wouldn’t stay here again in comparison to other budget hotels in the city for this time of year. Location is good, rooms are in serious need of an upgrade which I believe is in the process but our room hadnt been done yet. Bar downstairs has the music vibrating through your room so if you’re looking for an early night don’t expect one. Beds are comfy, shower good and bathroom clean

Really easy check in, helpful front of house desk, clean rooms. The temperature of the room was good. So many hotels have freezing aircon. This hotel was really comfy, a lovely hard bed, decent shower and bath. Toiletries were quite nice. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here. We will definitely stay here again.

Arrived for a 3 night sight seeing trip for my friends birthday. We are two mature ladies. Paid in full and was told they needed a £50 deposit returnable on departing. |Walked in to room and it was roasting. Had to ask for a fan. No where to hand your clothes. And no mirror in room. Only in bathroom. |Returned on first night after 10pm to be met with very loud awful music coming from Amsterdam bar below. Had to suffer this every night till midnight. On departing we said about the music, and room facilities to be told. Oh sorry you didn’t enjoy your stay. Now wait here while I check your room for your deposit return. Unbelievable. Never been treated like that ever. |The only good thing about this place was the location . Would not recommend or set foot in again.!

I've been a regular guest at the Brunswick Hotel for the past year on my work travels, and each visit consistently exceeds my expectations. Having travelled to Glasgow weekly for 2 years, I have tried every possible form of accommodation, including hotels and AirBnB's, and the Brunswick is, in my opinion, the best place to stay if you want to find the optimal balance between comfort, affordability and centrality of location. The rooms, including the standard rooms, are generously spacious for the price, with roomy en suites and luxurious showers. The rooms are impeccably clean, the beds are comfy and included are several really useful amenities: a desk, hairdryer, iron, and tea/coffee making facilities. Further, the staff go out of their way to make guests feel welcome and have numerous times extended me real kindness; this atmosphere seems a consequence of the hotel being a family-owned business. The staff's attentiveness and the overall ambiance of the Brunswick Hotel make it an ideal choice for anyone looking for comfort, luxury, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere in Glasgow. I highly recommend it to both business travellers and tourists, and would have given it more stars if I could.

Unusual decor with numerous chandeliers lending to a charming ambience. Both outside area and inside are enjoyable. Good cocktails. Food was truly delicious, flavourful and unique. Enjoyed the tomato starter and potato bread with garlic butter. The lamb main was very good. Service good.

Disappointed to be honest. A notice on the wall on arrival asked for patience while they underwent refurbishment. First we'd heard of it and I'm sure it'll be lovely when it's done! There was NO wardrobe or hooks to hang anything and staff were unable to offer hangers or any other solution despite both of us having being caught in rain of biblical proportions. Clothes were on the floor as the small table was taken up with kettle and tea tray. |The noise from the bar below, and reflected from other rooms through the brick enclosed "shaft" outside the window was loud and we didn't need the detail we could hear!!! The bar did close at midnight but there was activity all night! |Room was clean and newly decorated and bed was comfy, but it was very small.

Yelp
al fresco drinkies! Not the cheapest place for a continental beer al fresco, but the location, especially when the sun is shining and there's free entertainment provided on the Commonwealth Games stage, is pretty much perfect. We had the best seat in the house for the price of a pint! The Brunswick's bar was full of happy diners, so a return visit to sample the menu is in order.

Yelp
Nice little bar ... BUT ... the toilets are deliberately confusing. They are simply NOT clearly marked. My wife is always reluctant to use them - in case she opens the wrong door - and all our friends feel the same. The bar staff AND management know very well about this - but simply refuse to do anything about it. They obviously feel it is "quirky" and part of its charm ...IT'S NOT! The problem could be resolved with cheap men/women stickers - under a pound each - but to no avail. The management policy is very radical for most Glasgow pubs - ignore complaints and see if you can chase customers away! Your doing a fantastic job so far!

Yelp
Terrible place to stay. Put a room right above the club and our walls and bed were vibrating. They changed our room the next night and the showers didn't work. Pretty sure this place is not up to code for the city.

Yelp
The Brunswick is easy to spot if you're in Merchant City on foot; just look for the bright yellow cafe chairs on the sidewalk. Our room was not worth 85 GBP: it was much too small for two giant beds. There was no chair, no place to put our suitcases, the heat was stifling, our window only opened a few inches and faced a brick wall. The shower curtain caused a flood: it was the kind of uselessly thin fabric that lets water soak right through it and blows inwards and sticks to you while you shower. To be fair, I booked our room with only a few days' notice, so I expect all the nicer rooms were already taken. Thankfully there was a powerful (but noisy) electric fan which we ran constantly, and the friendly desk staff gave us a couple of whiskey vouchers for the cafe. The cafe was a sexy joint. We nommed wickedly on whiskey, cheesy string fries, and sticky toffee pudding with ice cream (if I ever find myself on Death Row, I'm making that my last meal) I would definitely stay at the Brunswick again if I could book in advance and get a nicer room.

Yelp
Okay, I love totally hip hotels...and this is definitely that! Black walled stairwells with round cutout windows overlooking the lobby, red carpet, electric blue rails etc. The rooms were spacious enough, and the beds were comfy. I'm especially love hotel rooms with bath-tubs, so they earned points for that; only it had that musky, wet smell - so I wasn't able to enjoy it. I'm a sucker for a hotel that provides teas and coffee in the room, so they get another point for that. They also provided a large high-powered fan, which was great because I was sharing the room with my brother...and the side of the room with his bed smelled like boy (BO, dirty socks) I loved the complimentary breakfast that they serve in their restaurant/bar. Everything from meats and cheeses to cereals, fruits and good coffee. The location could not have been any better. We were right downtown and walking distance to everything!! The downside was the noise. The walls weren't so thin that you could hear your anyone in the neighboring rooms, but there was a music festival going on outside our hotel and some very mediocre (at best) bands played all day and into the late evening. Not the hotels fault. However; After sightseeing all day, I wanted to relax in our room and watch the Olympics before bed, but when the live music finally stopped, the hotel restaurant/bar turned into a nightclub and blasted heir music until midnight (Friday) and 1am (Saturday) night. That made it hard to hear our TV. It also made it hard to sleep and had me on edge, wondering at what time the music would finally shut off. Yes, I wore earplugs, but they only dimmed the music and not the thumping of the bass. We were on the 2nd floor, so I'm thinking had we been on the 4th or 5th, it would have been quieter. Unfortunately, the hotel was booked solid so we couldn't switch rooms. I liked this hotel, but if I went back, would demand a room on a higher floor.

Yelp
If you're kicking about the Merchant City and it's a nice afternoon/eve, the Brunswick should be on your list of places to go. It's very stylised inside - in a kind of 'I want that bar for my kitchen' sort of way. Outside there's maybe 10 tables with chairs which catches the sun and helps make the Merchamt City one of the best places to go and relax. I've not been for a gig or food. Yet. But I will be soon :)

Yelp
More or less a perfect example of what the Merchant City should be, but doesn't always pull off, The Brunswick is one of the few places that manages to be exceptionally fashionable without looking or feeling like it's trying to, and while I've never actually stayed here, the bar comes highly recommended, and brings in the right mix of bohos and young professionals that an area needs to be officially classified as "up and coming". Downstairs is an excellent venue for gigs and leftfield club nights too. Well worth a look even for locals.

Yelp
Perfect for mid week beers, with mellow funky tunes and a casual hipster crowd. The bar's well stocked, wether it's beers, wine or cocktails you're after this place will quench your thirst. It's a compact space with portraits of 80's pop n rock legends on the walls, there's also a few seats outside (handy for the smokers).

Yelp
My brother and his friends had come to Glasgow for a weekend break and after some extensive research they decided that the best place to stay was the Brunswick. When they stayed I visited them and I was really impressed with the quality of their room. They also said that their breakfast was tasty and served with healthy portions. We had a few drinks in the bar on the Saturday and we all left speaking highly of the place. Infact, I've since been back on a number of occasions and enjoyed a drink just as much. As you would expect from a Merchant City Hotel/Bar the drinks are not cheap but I felt that the warm atmosphere more than made up for the extra 50p on the glasses. I have also been to some of the underground gigs they have in the basement and I would highly recommend that you stop by and enjoy some of the cities left-field tunes in an exciting, quirky basement venue.

Yelp
Ooooh this hotel is so cool it almost disgusts me! The Brunswick Hotel is achingly contemporary and is housed in the architectural wonder that is the primavera building on a Victorian street surrounded by historical buildings. There are 18 rooms at the hotel all decked out in a simple, modern European style and making use of bold colour schemes. Rooms start at a "compact double" for £50 per room per night (rather than per person which is great!) right up to the collosal 3 bedroom apartment. The apartment is stunning with lots of open space, wooden flooring, glass coffee tables, ultra cool seating and a mezzanine level. I work for a ladies fashion retailer and we recently used the apartment at the Brunswick for a fashion shoot and the light, airy space made for some stunning shots. The cafe/bar at the hotel is called Brutti Ma Buoni, which means ugly but good in Italian. The food served has a Mediterranean flavour and the menu is pretty extensive so you won't struggle to find something which takes your fancy. The cafe itself is bright, airy and contemporary with glass tables and suede and leather seating. The basement bar is known as the Basura Blanca and at weekends it is always packed and has some fantastic DJs playing. In fact every May the hotel is fully booked with bands and DJs who come to play across all six floors of the hotel at the Brunswicks "Get A Room" event. There is nothing quite like it else where in Glasgow or even Scotland! Whether you are local to Glasgow or a visitor looking for an uber cool place to stay you HAVE to check out the Brunswick.

Yelp
The Brunswick is one of my fav gay friendly pubs in Glasgow. Really mixed crowd with sexy bar staff. The Cava is a lethal bargain. Great food(Hendricks gin is cheap as chips and the chips are no bad either). Make sure you get there early or else you are gonna be standing like a spare part in the corner. Oh one more thing, if you need a pee......by the time you find the loo you would have already wet yourself.

Yelp
Spent 2 nights at the Brunswick this week when up for a concert in Glasgow. Very nice hotel in the nice Merchant City area. We only booked a 'compact' room and they certainly are small. In fact the smallest bathroom I've seen in a hotel - but - was more than suitable for my needs for the two days and they do have bigger rooms - including a very exciting sounding penthouse! Staff were all really friendly and helpful. They also have an adjoining bar which again was really nice. Would definitely stay again (just in a bigger room!)

Yelp
Please avoid this hotel if you want to spend your money in an honest establishment. They withheld a security deposit, then produced a SECOND set of terms and conditions to justify their actions. Their staff then came up with several untrue stories, none of them matching. Trading standards agreed that their actions were illegal, but seem to be an ineffectual organisation when it comes to getting justice in these situations. This is probably why dishonest hotels like The Brunswick are rife in the UK and keep getting away with stunts like these. Again, AVOID this disgrace of a place. If you want to risk it, I strongly recommend NOT handing over a deposit and asking for the terms and conditions not publicly advertised and withheld by the hotel (the word document with extra T's & C's typed on to the end! Not joking unfortunately!) Disgusting experience from beginning to end. I will be very careful in the future (the only good thing to come out of this experience).
