We took the car ferry over today and we had a lovely time walking on the beautiful beaches by the two trees. We also went up the stairs to a lookout. Definitely worth the trip.

Went on a cloudy day but would easily skip and explore other parts of Tassie. Apart from the neck lookout the drive and sites around isn’t anything too special. Took the first ferry at 7:30am( unscheduled running on peak season times being once filled up it goes) with 3 boats operating…2new big ones and 1 small old one(20+ cars ish). The cheese and oyster place were good but being the only real food places it was overcrowded and average compared to other high quality tassie places. Beaches were nice and some good walks/hikes to explore. No white wallaby’s or pink robins were spotted! Spent roughly 5hrs having explored the highlights apart from the very north part of the island. A mad rush once the ferry is unloaded being one main rd from the north to the south with evryone going to the same attractions listed on the map.

Great drive around, not many cafes but different places to try wines, whisky, cheeses and beers. The scenery would be beautiful if the weather was clearer. A bit rainy today. Lots of dirt roads so alot if the island was missed.

It was quite nice and we did tons of climbing around on the rocks. The whole experience was incredible. I would recommend.

Lovely place to visit. Good food and drink to be found but may be a bit expensive.. Great scenery.

Very scenic pleasurable day trip option from Hobart. A visit to the lighthouse and views of The Neck from the Truganini lookout were breathtaking. There are options to do trail walks, enjoy the beautiful beaches and many views of the sea. You can take your car on the ferry from Kettering Ferry terminal. Few food options on the island but there’s fresh fruit shop and a honey ice creamery that are both worth stopping for.

Bruny Island is such a special place there’s this calm you just can’t explain. It’s perfect for a day trip, though I’d love to go back in summer and spend more time on those amazing beaches. If you’re in Hobart, it’s definitely worth the visit. You can do it all in a day.
