Brussels Expo

The Brussels Exhibition Centre or Brussels Expo, located on the Heysel Plateau, Laeken, Brussels, is an event complex. The twelve halls in there are used for National / International trade fairs & exhibitions etc. It has a covered space of 12,40,000 sq ft. The construction initially had 5 halls when it started in 1935, built for the Brussels International Exposition, celebrating the Belgian independence centenary. In 1958, additional buildings were constructed for the 1958 Brussels World's Fair and the Atomium was also erected nearby. The Palais 11 was built in 1977, the Palais 12 during 1989 & the Auditorium in 1993. In recent years, some of the existing halls were renovated and modernised. The venue has twelve main halls and several other exhibition areas, as well as twelve conference rooms. The main conference hall ie the Auditorium 2000, offers almost 2,000 seats, while the Palais 12 is a large indoor arena that hosts concerts, has up to 15,000 seats. The parking areas have room for 12,000 cars. The Centenary Palace, 541 ft × 295 ft, designed by Joseph Van Neck in Art Deco style, was the most ornamental of all and is one of the remaining buildings of the 1935 World's Fair, which had the world's largest reinforced concrete frame too. During Expo 58, its façade was hidden behind a 66 ft temporary mask covered with 94 bronze stars and a copper dove. Currently, it is still being used for trade fairs, as well as concerts. Since this building is located right opposite the Atomium, its existence could not have missed my keen eye, during my visit in 2024.

Attending the Brussels Auto Show was an unforgettable experience. What made it even more special was sharing this moment thanks to an invitation from my former colleagues. Walking through the show reminded me how passion, innovation, and hard work come together to create something extraordinary. It wasn’t just about admiring beautiful machines—it was about seeing what’s possible when ambition meets smart work and forward thinking. I left the auto show inspired, motivated, and more determined than ever to keep pushing myself to grow, improve, and aim higher. Visited the expo for the recent motor show. The venue is very big much bigger than the convention centres in the UK. The floor plan was well organised and their were kiosks with maps on the various halls. Food was also well catered for with multiple food outlets. There were also lots of toilets in different locations. Hopefully the motor show will return to expo in 2027.

Nice area, good navigation, variety of meals and drinks available. Good care about visitors. Would be happy to come again...

Visited the fair and ate at the restaurant Brasserie 58 inside the fair area. Really good food and friendly staff. The manager was really rude and argued with us when we wanted to split our bill. I hope the staff can find a better place to work at or that they change the management.

I went to the Brussel Auto Show, and it was amazing. There were loads of cars, motorcycles, F1 cars, even a plane and stands to buy something. It was really big and I absolutely loved it there. The staff was also very friendly and willing to answer any questions

I found it pretty average and a bit overrated. It is far from most things and not very practical to reach. Nice to see once, but I would not go back. Worth it only if you are already nearby or curious.

This Expo was built from anywhere 1830s to 1920s and the buildings show the actual date on the side so you can be all kinds of impressed right from the start - and we were. Amazing Art Deco facades and wonderful showcase for a variety of exhibitions ranging from cars to art. We visited for BRAFA - Brussels Antiques & Fine Arts Fair. The setup was spacious, decorative, lovely. The fair itself was amazing Easy to get to. Right off the 6 Metro line for 2.50€ and across the street from Atomium. At least 2 huge parking lots we saw & there may be more so lots of options to visit at your leisure Can't go wrong to visit the Expo for any event

I was here for the annual Brussels Auto Show. I have actually been here many times over the years for many different events. Of course if you plan to drive anywhere, especially in a city, it's always nice to know that there is a place to park. Well, the Expo has a really big parking lot, so no worries there. It's free too! Well, I think they charge to park when you park for a Belgium national soccer game but for the expos, I believe it's always free. If you're on public transportation, you can take the Metro from downtown Brussels. The expo is actually in the north of the city, close to the Atomium, so you may as well kill two birds with one stone. The place is massive - as you would expect of any good expo hall. They have some food vendors around and some other small eateries upstairs. They always seem to be very busy, so don't come hungry and use that standing in line time to enjoy whatever it is you've gone there for.
