We spent three nights in mid-August and this place charmed our socks off. The Bryggan is not your typical hotel; read on for details to make check-in easier (see photos). Online reservation sites showed no vacancies on our dates for the types of rooms we wanted. I called the hotel and learned that two of these rooms were indeed available, one was reserved for us. Upon arrival it is possible to briefly leave your car standing out front while checking in. There is no reception desk; check-in is at the café/bistrot. The cashier provided an envelope containing the room key and wifi info. I asked about their free parking, she filled out a form to display in the car. The lot we used is on Lidenvägen, at the end of the street. It is clearly marked. Lidenvägen is behind the Coop grocery store, a great place for food and supplies. We stopped there for some snacks after parking. The lot is an easy 10-minute walk from the hotel. |Other reviews describe that there are different types of rooms in different parts of the building. Our superior room (#11) was spacious, clean, and quiet. It was bright, with a view of the rock face and part of the harbor. The large bathroom had a Jacuzzi tub, but it wasn’t working. Plenty of hot water with good pressure in the shower stall. The sink area had ample space for toiletries. A washer and dryer are provided; we didn’t use them. Two comfortable leather chairs for relaxing. The bed is huge; we found it very comfortable and slept well. There was no full-length mirror in the room, important for us as we were there for a wedding. My wife requested one, it was delivered and worked out well. We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. Dinner at the café was quite tasty and reasonable for a waterfront establishment. (I recommend the Skagen fish & chips, my wife loved the fish soup.) Many gather outside the café and neighboring restaurant to watch the sunset, it can get crowded on nice evenings. The self-service breakfast was good, offered in the cozy café with a water view. Mostly breads, meats, yogurt and cheeses but hot scrambled eggs and bacon were available. The coffee was excellent. Weather permitting you can have breakfast outside on the waterfront. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return one day.

Came to Fjällbacka late August, so a bit off-season, nevertheless the older staff lady in the restaurant seemed stressed and came across as rather rude having no patience for nobody. Maybe she had a bad day.|Our lunch was delicious though, we had one of the best meals of the summer here. We ordered three different things, and portions were huge and flavourful. Thumbs up.

Stayed two nights at Bryggan and were pleased to receive a free upgrade to a room with a sitting area so can’t comment on the other rooms other that to say that only one room has a sea view despite the hotel being right on the marina. No hotel car parking (except for across town) but I think that’s the case for everywhere in Fjallbacka. Breakfast was basic but tasty.

There are 2 hotels with same names. So please be sure which one are you booking. This one is facing the sea but the other one I heard is more popular. I didn’t like the rooms to be honest. Very average rooms. The entrance from behind the hotel with the stairs gave a very guest house feeling. We didn’t even get the room towards the view side, so it was so boring view from this room. Overall I got guest house feeling. The suite on the floor should have a very good feeling

Just had lunch here. The Vegan Burger very good. After just having burgers and falafel as options to eat in a roadtrip, this vegan Burger was The Best, even with vegan cheese, vegan mayo and doble Patty. I had as well a vegan carrot cake, very tasty todo AND good portion. They warned about Time for food and It was un a third of The expected, very good service, but It was very crowded and hard to get a place to sit.

Stopped in for pizza and a beer. Good fries. Pizza was crusty but ok flavor. The birds were all over the empty tables grabbing snacks.

Best room on our 2 week trip. Nice and spacious. Stayed in one of the side buildings and loved it. Travelled with dog and as a really nice gesture there was not only a water and food bowl in the room but also some dog treats. The location is amazing just close to everything.|Can only recommend this hotel and will definitely be back.|The breakfast is ok but the view from the breakfast room amazing

Stopped for a coffee and light lunch. View and atmosphere was amazing. Food - not so much. Croissants were several days old and we had to wait 45 min for pizza.
