9 Best New Hotels in Copenhagen, Denmark - AFAR

"The latest property from a sustainability-focused Danish hotel group, situated near Islands Brygge metro and the harborfront; the 212-room hotel pairs a Nordic-meets-Bali aesthetic with eco-conscious operations such as recycled linens and highly water-efficient showers, and it features an on-site pool and an organic restaurant. Its location places guests within easy reach of popular swimming spots and the Michelin-starred restaurant Alouette." - Lyndsey Matthews

We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. Everything was clean, cozy, and comfortable. The hotel is located outside the city center, which actually makes it a peaceful and relaxing place to stay — away from the noise and crowds. We were traveling without a car, so I can’t comment on parking, but the rooms with balconies are a highlight. Ours faced the inner courtyard and pool, which was lovely. The beds were very comfortable, and the free self-service bar on the floor was a really nice touch. The only downside was that smoking is allowed on the balconies. As non-smokers, the smell of cigarette smoke coming into the room — especially at night and early in the morning — was unpleasant. Other than that, everything was great. We would definitely stay here again!

My stay at the Bryggen Guldsmeden Hotel was a mix of very positive experiences and one notable drawback. First, the positive aspects. The room was impeccably clean and comfortable, which is always the most important thing for me. The hotel's pools were also fantastic—nice and warm, perfect for a relaxing dip after a day of exploring. What truly stood out, though, was the staff. Every single person I interacted with was incredibly friendly and helpful, making me feel genuinely welcome throughout my stay. The only real issue for me was the hotel's location. While it wasn't a dealbreaker, it's not the most convenient spot for getting to the city's main attractions. If you're looking for a hotel right in the middle of all the action, this might not be the best fit. However you can take the metro to the city center. The metro station is 5 minutes walk. Overall, if you prioritize cleanliness, great amenities, and outstanding service over a central location, I would highly recommend the Bryggen Guldsmeden Hotel.

Hotel is lovely and convenient for the Metro. Would have loved to have used the pool area but it was always full of kids. Not the oasis it promotes. Bar service could be improved upon as slow and often I had to go hunting for someone to take drinks order. There is no air-conditioning and so be prepared for hot nights in rooms.

Charming hotel with great amenities and service. You have the pool/spa option which just makes staying there more special. A small lounge on each floor lends itself to cozy gatherings. Wonderful outside space with a DJ spinning tunes most nights. I would definitely stay there again!

We stayed as a weekend refreshment for one night. Since the hotel locates in residential area, it was very calm environment and we had relaxing weekend with small spa. Might be not so convenient without a car, and local parking was kind of expensive for two days. Staffs are young and very helpful, kiosk bar at the floor we could get snacks and drinks which was quite nice, and everything in the hotel was organic/bio. And it applies for what they serve at the bar. All liquor they have was bio. The room we stayed was quite dark as it faced to the street. Better to stay the room face to the garden. A lot of amenities in the room, however the bathroom was too small and I couldn’t wear my makeup there as no space to put my cosmetic bag. And we wondered room some stuff was missing in our room such as a bag for Spa, only one pair of tooth brush etc. And no extra towels for Spa, which I feel not sanitized as same towels I placed in the sauna can be used after taking shower in the room. Anyway, we were happy with our stay at this unique concept hotel. Thank you for hosting us.

Liked the stay here, rooms comfy and peaceful and a nice layout and interior to the place. Pool is a bonus but it’s fairly small and lots of kids so I didn’t really try it much. Sauna is nice, steam room smells like damp. The floors to the sauna quickly get damp and muddy with lots of peoples feet and the loungers went quickly when it’s popular. Love the little coffee and snack area on each level to help yourself to. But if the extras, I only really wanted to use the sauna.

The hotel had a lovely and atmospheric feel, and the room was clean and tidy. However, the lack of air conditioning made our stay uncomfortable during hot days. The room became extremely warm and it was difficult to relax or sleep because of the heat.||The outdoor pool was a nice bonus, but unfortunately we chose not to use it. Many guests were only dipping their feet or sitting around the pool enjoying drinks, which made it less appealing for actual swimming or cooling off. It would be great if the pool area was reserved more for swimming rather than socializing with drinks.||Overall, the hotel had charm and potential, but the heat and the pool situation affected the overall experience.

Fantastic hotel. Close to Island Brygge metro. Very easy to get to and from the airport as metros run 24/7.|We had a great room. Lots of thoughtful small touches in the room and communal areas. Lived up to its Eco friendly billing. |We had a lovely dinner there and would recommend the restaurant. There are several other places to eat nearby. |The staff were lovely, very professional and friendly. |The outdoor area is perfect for reading a book in the sunshine whilst enjoying a drink from the bar. |My husband ranks it equal second of the many places we have stayed and above one of the amazing hotels in the Raffles chain, high praise indeed. |Looking forward to staying here or another hotel in the Guldsmeden chain next time we visit. Please open one in the UK.
