9 Best New Hotels in Copenhagen, Denmark - AFAR

"The latest property from a sustainability-focused Danish hotel group, situated near Islands Brygge metro and the harborfront; the 212-room hotel pairs a Nordic-meets-Bali aesthetic with eco-conscious operations such as recycled linens and highly water-efficient showers, and it features an on-site pool and an organic restaurant. Its location places guests within easy reach of popular swimming spots and the Michelin-starred restaurant Alouette." - Lyndsey Matthews

I stayed at Bryggen Guldsmeden Hotel for four days and had a very pleasant experience overall. The room was clean and comfortable, and the hotel’s facilities — especially the sauna and pool — were really nice and relaxing. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with anything I needed. The breakfast was good and fresh, although I would have appreciated a bit more variety. The location was also great, close to the metro and easy to reach different parts of the city. Overall, a lovely stay — I would definitely recommend it and consider coming back

This place is really comfortable with great amenities. It’s close to the bus stop, so getting public transport is easy. The staff was welcoming, and the room was clean, cozy, and comfortable. They even offer early check-in, which was very convenient. We especially enjoyed the pool and spa. Overall, it was a wonderful stay and definitely worth it!

Great place if you like grounded, well thought through-boutique like experiences. Breakfast is perfectly thought through, high quality and healthy. Gym is good looking, and good amount of equipment with opportunities for yoga. Rooms are spacious and cozy with a "medidative" feel. All furniture are high quality and good textiles. The spa has everything you need and the pool as well. I highly recommend this hotel

A serious surprise. Very cozy atmosphere. The hotel has a rustic and nature-friendly feel, and all of this has been elegantly highlighted. Clean and tidy. Good location from where we could get to all places of interest either on foot or by bicycle. Breakfast was very high quality and delicious. The shampoos, conditioners, creams and oils in the rooms were very pleasant and good. All the staff were very helpful. We have traveled a lot and this is definitely one of our TOP 3 hotels. We will definitely go back here.|PS! And very good cocktails in bar :)

This hotel was a great find and we had a really lovely stay there recently. ||It was in a god spot - conveniently located and easy to get to, whilst being just outside of the city centre which I always prefer for a better sleep. There were bus stops, a metro station and a ferry stop all just a few minutes walk away. ||The entrance, libbey and bar area had a great vibe and staff were friendly and attentive. ||Our room was comfortable and cozy with some quirky features - which included a window style opening into the bathroom - we weren’t too sure about that feature but it gave some entertainment. The room included robes which we could use for heading to the spa/pool area but also kiosk. ||The kiosk was fabulous and we enjoyed the treats that were available - and there was a good range of snacks and drinks. The only criticism I would have is that the hot drinks available were inconsistent with only one or different teas available which would change when topped up and were often different on different floors. Some days I could find a black tea (my preference) like earl grey but other days all our floor had was fruit or green tea. ||The pool and spa facilities were nice and a good size, the steps into the pool didn’t feel the most secure and took a minute to get comfortable on but once used to them it was fine. ||Really enjoyed our stay here! Would recommend and wouldn’t hesitate to use the brand again

Stayed here during our trip in Copenhague. The hotel is beautiful, well kept and clean. We appreciated that it was dog-friendly and located close to a large Park. Location-wise it is close to the city but the parking situation is a bit tricky and can be very costly so we would recommend other travellers to obtain information before going on the trip.

This review may be boosted as they upgraded us to a suite at no extra cost ... and the room was extraordinary. From check-in to check out the staff was friendly and efficient. It is a short walk from the Copenhagen metro, and a lovely walk up the Harborside into town if you enjoy strolling (our preference). The only downside is that Restaurant choices nearby are limited; this is no problem if you enjoy their restaurant (reservations not mandatory but recommended as they have one of the few specialty restaurants in the area) or take the metro a few stops into central Copenhagen. When we come back, we'd plan to stay here.

We stayed here recently with our dog and really appreciated that the hotel is dog-friendly. The reception staff were welcoming, and the garden service was friendly — we enjoyed having fries and a beer outside. Unfortunately, the overall experience did not meet expectations for the price category. Cleanliness was lacking: on arrival there were breadcrumbs in the room, and the lounge cushion was dusty. The room was never properly cleaned during our stay — only the wet bath rug was replaced and the bin emptied. The bathroom floor mat quickly became soaking wet due to water leaking from the shower. The facilities were disappointing for this price range: no minibar or fridge in the room to cool down some water, no mugs and no kettle or coffee maker. The shared coffee machine and fridge on the floor were messy and they only had paper cups and the fridge contained only sweet soft drinks, no water (only on the first day). Noise was an issue, especially from the inner garden in the evenings and from other rooms at night. The bed quality was very poor: the slatted frame had been collapsed (we had to rearrange the wooden parts), the mattress offered little support, and we slept badly as a result. (Ironically the hotel advertises a “pillow menu” while failing to provide proper beds.) In short: friendly staff and dog-friendly atmosphere, but major improvements are needed in cleanliness, facilities, and comfort.
