Bryggen Guldsmeden Hotel

We absolutely loved our time at the Bryggen Guldsmeden! We went for our honeymoon after getting married in Copenhagen a few days earlier. The room was comfortable and well thought out. The heated floor of the bathroom was absolute perfection! We loved the little kiosk with the complimentary coffee, drinks and snacks. We also had dinner at the restaurant and couldn't compliment the chef more. It was one of the most delicious meals we've ever had. The staff at the hotel we're very kind, happy and helpful. Even though the temperatures were mostly below 0, we enjoyed the heated pool and spa. We would come out rejuvenated every day after spending some time swimming and in the sauna. The one thing that would've improved our stay were blackout blinds. We struggled a bit with sleep because of this. Otherwise, no.complaints. Thanks to everyone for a wonderful honeymoon.

We had a great time here during a birthday trip to Copenhagen. We loved our room. Despite being the smaller size the decor was cool and the beds were comfy. There was a TV but we couldn’t manage to connect our Netflix or devices so that would have been disappointing if we hadn’t brought an iPad to watch movies. Our floor was also quite quiet when we went in Jan. The sauna and pool was an amazing amenity to have on site as well as the robes and slippers and fresh towels. We used it every day. In summer the courtyard would be amazing to have a drink and relax in. Breakfast is always good at the Guldsmeden hotels - this one didn’t disappoint. Lots of variety and not too busy so never went without anything. Only note is that I had to pay extra for my partner’s breakfast as the room deal I booked only covered 1 person? This wasn’t made obvious when booking. Service was great - Sofie on front desk answered a lot of questions for us and made a good restaurant recommendation for us. Thank you ☺️ Location was fine - really near a metro station and Hart bakery which was great!

We spent 4 nights at Bryggen Guldsmeden this January and were very satisfied. The over all ambience was fantastic, the furnishings with great attention to detail, just to feel good. And really all the staff were so friendly and courteous. The breakfast buffet was also super tasty and even as a vegetarian I got my money's worth. Of course it was also very pleasant to be able to heat up in the sauna in the cold January. The only thing we missed was a heated relaxation room where you could have relaxed a little between sauna sessions. There was also a lack of lighting in our room. Especially in January, it would have been good to be able to keep the room a little brighter. But all in all, we were very satisfied and would love to come back.

Very nice hotel in a quiet neighborhood. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. One suggestion for improvement: clearer rules for sauna etiquette. I noticed some guests climbing onto benches with slippers, which isn’t ideal, and the use of rubber slippers in the sauna may not be the healthiest practice. Providing guidance on proper sauna use would enhance the experience for all visitors. Overall, a great place to stay and explore the city.

Stayed here for a night, this place is definitely very different from other places in terms of decor and it was refreshing. I loved their commitment towards sustainability, bathrooms are equipped with shower system that can recycle water reducing the water consumption. Best part was that it shows how much water was saved 😊. Service was great, Staff was polite and accommodating. Breakfast was standard. I couldn’t enjoy heated pool and sauna, so cannot comment on that part.

I loved every bit of my stay. Most stunning backyard. Absolutely lovely rooms with a balcony. Nice and helpful staff and the breakfast is just amazing. Walking distance to the city and just 6-7 minutes from the Metro. This hotel is a gem. Will return over and over again.

A case of style over substance for me, especially at the price point The good bits - Lobby and restaurant area is nicely done out and comfortable. Ate dinner which was okay. Great steak but naff apple desert, especially compared to ones i'd eaten in other places. The breakfast was of a very high quality, can't fault that. Staff and service on the whole very good. Rooms are nicely decorated but a little small. I like the idea of recycling water for the showers but it had a slight sewer waft which wasn't great. No tea or coffee machine in the room, you have to use a "kiosk" on your floor which also has drinks and snacks. Nice idea but nothing got refilled after being raided by kids and to be honest, I'd rather be able to make drinks in my room than stumble out in the morning in a robe to make them in a hallway. No milk or anything stocked up so just black tea or coffee. Fine for me but not my partner. Some freebies in the room like slippers which fall apart pretty quickly so not very "eco-concious" Pool is nice but the sauna/steam rooms smelled pretty bad. Normally places use a scent of some sort so it doesn't just smell of sweaty people! Wouldn't recommend for the price point sadly.

The Good: The hotel offered decent services and had a polite and accommodating staff. They were friendly and responsive to our needs, which made our stay more comfortable. The amenities were functional, and the overall vibe of the hotel was welcoming. The Bad: Unfortunately, the cleanliness was a major letdown. In our room, there were coffee stains that weren’t ours—likely left by the cleaning staff, which made us question the attention to detail. The hallways had popcorn on the floor that remained there for days, with the exact same pieces noticeable over time. Worst of all, the gym had spider webs, which was completely unacceptable and gave the impression that cleaning was not a priority. While the service and staff were commendable, the lack of proper cleaning seriously needs improvement.
