Bryn Coed Guest House

My brother and i stayed in August 2024 for three nights and had a great time; friendly seeming hosts, nice room, good price and a filling breakfast. We returned this year in August for an extra night as we had been suitably impressed 12 months previously. The hosts even switched our room and dates after a sudden family bereavement. Very helpful.|| How sad we were when on our second night the hosts asked us to "be as quiet as possible" because of the other hotel guests. My brother and i are both professionals (teacher and a nurse) and not given to "being noisy" and never had been at the guest house. This comment was unfounded, confusing, inappropriate and actually offended. Were the other guests similarly asked to be quiet because of my brother and myself? I'm guessing not. ||The hostess the next day then forgot to replenish our milk because "she had been busy." We were paying customers. Was this really acceptable? Our towels remained unchanged also and became increasingly wet. ||On our last day the hostess asked us not to let our bath overflow because we had allegedly caused a leak through her study ceiling. We explained we hadn't had a single bath. This comment was ignored and the hostess continued to ask me not to let the bath overflow. Utterly perplexed i offered to pay for any damages but was declined. This final, unfair confrontation spoiled our last day and we couldn't wait to leave in truth. After such a promising stay last year, my brother and i will not be returning to Bryn Coed Guest House ever. As the saying goes; "you're only as good as your last record." We've been put off for life!

The room was small, cold and not clean. There were bits on the floor, used tissue on floor by bed, cobwebs hanging off the ceiling. The bathroom was not clei. Sink had what looked like tea stains, toilet needed a good descale and bleach. I didn't sleep in the bed as didn't want to look at the sheets as the duvet was marked. Not matching pillow cases. The pillows were old and flat. The dust on mirror and picture frames had been there a long time. I'm allergic to dust and I spent most of the night sneezing. No milk in room to have a cup of tea. The shower was in need of a re grout as some missing and also had mould growing. On the positive side the host was very pleasant and and breakfast was ok but I only had cereal and toast. I did manage to get milk with my tea. Would definitely not stay there again. £70 per night was definitely way too much.

Arrived early, parking on street outside. Able to book in and take keys, no problem. Hosts Diane and Chris are lovely, and very helpful. Room 3 large bed, tea coffee biscuits etc, tv and chair. Bed comfy, room warm, ensuite clean & bright not a lot of room but serviceable with plenty of hot water. Hot breakfast very nice and cooked as requested I.e crispy bacon, flipped eggs etc. Choice of cereals and drinks. Liked that the breakfast room also served as a bar in the evening to meet other guests and have an evening drink. Ten minute walk to the shops and the lovely Colwyn Bay beach and half an hour walk to Rhos on Sea along the sand. Food and ice cream establishments along the way. All in all a very relaxing stay.

Had a lovely stay at Byrn Coed Guest House for 3 nights, Dianne was a fabulous host and all of our needs were catered for, she was very helpful. Highly recommend this place

I enjoyed a very nice stay at Bryn Coed guest house. The family who run it were extremely friendly and couldn't do enough for me. The room had everything I needed and the location was perfect. Breakfast was the highlight as I enjoyed fresh salmon and scrambled eggs. I will be returning when I'm working in the area 😊

Very friendly Proprietors, made us feel very welcome. Nicely cooked breakfast and asked us if we needed extra milk in our rooms and gave us more which was nice. I'm gluten free and Diane offered to get some bread for me to accommodate me which was lovely. The person I was supporting on holiday loved this place and really liked the proprietors who were so friendly and warm. It made his stay a memorable one. He loved the fish tanks and having his little chats and they gave him lots of time which was so nice. We will be co.ing back, no doubt :)

This is my second time staying here and I absolutely love it. It most definitely feels like home and the hosts, Chris & Diane, are so friendly and welcoming. Anything you need, just ask and they'll be happy to help. ||The rooms are so cosy and very clean. The bed was comfortable and although I'm a light sleeper, I can honestly I slept very well. ||Their little garden is so colourful and neat with shrubs, planters and pots full of fragrant flowers. The dining area has a small but well presented bar which is very reasonably priced. We particularly liked sitting and chatting here with a nightcap....or three!||Breakfast is fabulous and really sets you up for the day. There's a huge selection on the menu, which you fill in every day for the next day. I love tinned tomatoes on toast, which isn't on the menu but Diane was happy to make this for me on a couple of occasions. It was my husband's birthday whilst we were here this time and Diane went to the trouble of getting him a birthday card....what a lovely thing to do. ||Situated at around a 10 minute walk from the railway station, Bryn Coed Guest House is a great base for all of the nearby touristy towns. Llandudno, Caernarfon and Conwy were a must for us. There are also more hidden gems to explore nearby, such as pretty villages with beautiful views of the bays and mountains...just talk to the locals. It's also around a 10 minute walk to the beach at Colwyn Bay. I love the promenade walk to Rhos-on-Sea and back, which we did most days.||To sum up, you'll arrive at this cute little guest house as strangers, but you'll be going home as friends. No wonder they have many repeat guests....we'll be back, that's for sure.

Lovely family and cozy rooms in a semi-detached house. Bed was comfortable, room was clean and they left me tea and biscuits. Staff was very accommodating and friendly, breakfast was good. I would love to thank them for their hospitality. Highly recommended for travellers to North Wales. Good location in a walkable town, close to shops and the town hall. Photos taken of the town.
