Google
had an amazing experience at BSKT Café! The vibe is super chilled, perfect for a beachside brunch or a relaxed coffee catch-up. You can really tell they care about healthy eating – the menu is full of nutritious options, but everything still tastes incredible. it was packed with flavour, and the portion size was just right. Their smoothies and coffee were also spot on – super fresh and full of energy. The service was friendly even though it was quite busy, and the food came out pretty fast. What I really love is the location. just a short walk from the beach, and they have plenty of outdoor seating that’s dog-friendly too. It’s also a great spot if you’re into plant-based or gluten-free food. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a healthy, tasty meal in a relaxing atmosphere. Will definitely be back!

Google
BSKT cafe is one of my go-to brekky spots. The food is always fresh and the portion sizes are perfect. I love the avocado on toast with a side of halloumi – it never disappoints. I’ve also had the breakfast burgers and brekky salads before, and they’re just as good. The staff are lovely, the location right on the beach is such a bonus, and the coffee always hits the spot – especially with a sunrise view.

Google
A consistently delicious Gold Coast classic. When I come to the GC, I often stay around Mermaid and walk the beach to arrive here for coffee and breakfast before starting the day. The service is friendly, efficient and beachy, the coffee is rich, smooth and well crafted. ⏰ They open at 5am. Ideal for us morning folk and of course for surfers. 🍳Breakfast is always savoury for me and the food here is filled with fresh ripe vegetable sides to enjoy next to eggs and sourdough. Other things on the menu are sure to make people happy, this is just my favourite way to start the day. Real butter gets the extra stars 🌟 🚘 There’s street parking but it’s so nice to arrive via the beach 🌸

Google
Service: 10 Food: 10 Speed: 10 Absolutely flawless from start to finish. Everything was on point—friendly staff, delicious food, and super quick service. 10s across the board. Couldn’t ask for a better breakfast spot.

Google
We had an excellent experience here. The food is top quality and beautifully presented. The service was prompt and efficient even though it was busy. It was a little noisy but that is understandable considering the number of people. Thoroughly recommend this place.

Google
The café has a relaxed, beachy vibe, and it’s a great spot to chill or catch up with friends. Drinks came out quickly and the staff were friendly too.

Google
Food was really tasty and great portion sizes. The place was absolutely heaving but the girls were really nice and still spent time chatting to you.

Google
The staff at this cafe are a delight! They provide the most lovely customer service, the coffee wait is like 30sec (maybe 1min but the fastest I’ve ever seen). They are the heart and soul of this business (plus great food!). We’ve stayed nearby for a week holiday and enjoyed our cafe visits. Highly recommend!

Yelp
The shrimp taco was delicious and filling although a little pricey. Mimosa was not that great tbh. If a fly drops in your drink, the restaurant will not replace it, as they stated they are not liable for nature.

Yelp
The place is GOOD!!! This was our Local while holidaying at the Coast and truth be told no where else was better. The cafe is in the corner and easy to spot - there is on street parking with a few off street bays. The Cafe is dog friendly outside seating - we had our Labrador and she was very happy - getting attention from staff and customers. It's walk up, COVID sign in and you' lol be seated. The waiter staff will give you a tablet and this has menu and you order from the tablet for the table - I got it first try so it's easy. Menu has lots of Gluten free and Vegan options. The coffee hit the mark every time - it was excellent. Service was efficient and friendly - the waitresses checked in on us to make sure all was well. Food was very good - good serves and excellently prepared. We kept on coming back ! Note it does get crowded at peak times.

Yelp
I am apparently feeling the holiday spirit, because even though the service I got was awfully slow (I think they were training new staff), I enjoyed this cafe. It's close enough to the beach to get a healthy breeze at the outdoor tables. The menu is typical of trendy Australian brunch places, and even though I was a bit late (after waiting) to order the time-limited breakfast item I wanted, the consolation prize was a bowl of fruit and cocowhip, a coconut-based cream that several places in this area have adopted and which is delicious. There were certainly other things that looked appealing. The chai I got on the side advertised nine spices and tasted like it, though it did need a tad of whatever brown sugar they had at the table. It was fairly crowded even on a midweek day. I could see why, and I could see returning.

Yelp
Aesthetics, yes! I really, really loved the vibe of this place. Super chill, kinda hipstery, very Aussie modern. I made mental notes of the decor for my own personal use at home, lol! Menu was pretty good, and I like the fact that it was very Vegan/Vegetarian friendly. That was literally half the menu! We ordered: ++ Navajo Native Breakfast - Very filling, the flavors blended together so well! And I ate every bite! ++ Bushman's Breakfast - My husband said he enjoyed his breakfast ++ Flat White (duh!) - I think this was probably theeeee best Flat White I've ever had in my life, so yes, it was good. ++ African Mango Smoothie - Refreshing (both because it was a new flavor in my mouth, and 'cause it was simply refreshing) & delicious The staff was very friendly, and was very attentive. Street parking was not too bad, and it's located literally a block from the beach. So enjoy a nice brunch, and head to the beach for a walk. Yelp 2017 Challenge: 24/25

Yelp
I read that BSKT was a laptop friendly cafe and chose the cafe solely for this reason. The fact that they had great reviews was an added bonus. I was disappointed to discover that upon ordering a coffee (which was average at best) that the wifi did not work. Upon informing a staff member I was told that there was nothing that could be done. I did suggest that perhaps she could try restarting the modem in which she straight out refused. A complete waste of my time, the staff were rude and the coffee was average. The location is lovely though.

Yelp
Love this place! BSKT is great for a healthy little weekend (or any day, if you're like me) brunch. To no one's surprise, I ordered the BSKT Healthy Benny and it was phenomenal. Would definitely go back if I still lived in Gold Coast.

Yelp
Food is beautifully thought out and caters for people with intolerances, though I was told they don't do 'substitutes' when I asked for no creamy sauce on my fish. That was a bit weird given the concept of the place. A great place for groups or friends eating with vegan, vegetarians and normal carnivores. The menu is pretty awesome and hard to choose from - there's so much good stuff! I think it's a great place but I was disappointed with the service, which was indifferent and unhelpful at times. It wasn't busy but no one came to ask us if we needed or wanted anything, and when I asked for the ingredients for certain items their answers were clumsy. We're giving it another go for lunch though!

Yelp
This is one of my favorite cafes I ate at my entire time I was abroad in Australia. I came here based on the recommendation in the lonely planet, and I also took their food recommendation and I haven't regretted it any day since. They recommended the goat cheese quesadilla and wow, but I'll go into that in a bit. Let's break it all down: 1. Atmosphere/location: when you first try to find the place, it's in the middle of a neighborhood and you get skeptical. But it's one block away from the beach, and you can even see it from the back outdoor seating, so it makes sense now. The atmosphere is a pretty cliche Australian outdoor cafe, it has potted plants and wooden tables and wooden bars. It's got plenty of seating, but fills up particularly fast on weekends for brunch. They do allow outdoor seating with dogs. 2. Service: This is the one part that gives me a bad vibe. The servers are not polite and are not attentive. There were so many times over the multiple meals I had here where I could not find a waiter or get their attention, and would either have to ask another waiter for assistance or go up to the desk and ask to be served. Sour note in my mouth when service does not pay attention to customers, I even had to ask two waiters for a menu before even when I knew what I wanted. Then I could find them to order my meal. 3. Food: This is where this place shines. They focus on gluten free, paleo, superfoods that provide healthy, filling, and satisfying meals. As I mentioned, I get the goat cheese quesadilla and this is the best quesadilla I've ever had in my life. It's spectacularly different than any quesadilla one could have. The waiter last time recommended I get grilled chicken on the side and put it in them, so if I end up going once more ill do that, but idk if I'll be able to. Their smoothies are delicious, but not thick like I'd hope (American smoothies are ice/yogurt based so they're thicker) but these were still good: banana cinnamon is great. Everything on the menu sounds awesome and every time I go I contemplate trying new things and exploring the menu. If you're lucky enough to do that, definitely abuse that you have that opportunity. Overview: Food is awesome, location is surprisingly well thought out, but service is disappointing. Definitely one of my favorite places to go.

Yelp
Trotted here en route to the beach. Green goji salad was tasty and light - definitely healthy! Crispy king prawn with chili and aioli wasn't what I was expecting though :/ Batter was tasteless and not crispy. Coffee was lovely. Wanted an acai bowl but they didn't have and was conned into trying their maqui? infused coco whip (something like frozen yoghurt) but I didn't like it. BSKT cafe, why u no serve acai bowls? :(

Yelp
On a visit to the Gold Coast this place was on my hit list of cafes to try out. I was surprisingly impressed even going in with high expectations. On a sunny Sunday afternoon, went for lunch with some friends half expecting it to be super busy and we would have to wait but got seated with a table straight away. The staff were friendly and helpful when asking questions about the menu. All for of us were impressed with our choices. I got the Pad Thia with chicken and oh boy was it delish. Fresh, not too heavy, filling and the flavours in the sauce were incredible, perfectly balanced. I also had the bounty smoothie yummmmmy!! Prices all reasonable for the meals. I would definitely be back next time I'm in town. I usually take pictures to share but this time I was too excited and hungry I forgot and devoured it before I'd remembered. You'll just have to go see and taste for yourself.

Yelp
Had a weekend down the coast and this restaurant was walking distance, so naturally had to come and get some morning coffees. Love the fact that they have a take away window just for coffee. Makes the whole experience quicker! Both days the coffee was great, except I'm use to it a little stronger. Had an extra coffee shot put into my large flat white and it was amazing! Keen to try the food as it look delicious, fresh and not your usual bacon and eggs

Yelp
Great little spot and lovely healthy food with a menu that would suit every pallet even the non healthy ones. Though don't make the same mistake as my partner and expect the burger to taste like a greasy juicy fat burger as you will be disappointed. I had the fish tacos which where lovely but the highlight was what my friends had the 12hr sticky pork. Yum yum. Great little place to take kids as they have a massive little enclosed playpen.

Yelp
Best coffee on the Gold Coast! The food is a great price and the place has a cozy atmosphere, friendly staff and great food and coffee this is an amazing little food establishment worth to visit. We ordered the beef burger and also vegetarian meals, all tasted amazing.

Yelp
Famous faces front BSKT Cafe, Gold Coast BY SHARKING FOR CHIPS AND DRINKS The Gold Coast has no understanding of AFL - it's rugby league through-and-through with a smattering of rugby union to top it all off. To me this is normal as I didn't grow up with any idea of AFL either, and the big names that drew me and many others into BSKT Café are well-known to this (almost) single-code community. The coast's league team is the Gold Coast Titans and this café is owned by Greg Bird (Titans co-captain), Nate Myles and Mat Rogers (both Titans teammates). Obviously a place that three current top-flight players decide to open together isn't going to take the no-holds-barred grease feast (Huxtaburger) route. Instead they have taken what they have learnt from their team's nutritionists, coaches and health instructors, and have introduced their healthy lifestyles to their many fans. They have decided to open a healthy-living style café - which incorporates some yoga and pilates classes that run upstairs above the café. Weirdly - it's not about the coffee, Melbourne peeps. Instead, their focus is on the menu and having in-house specialists who have taken up residency - such as Ciane Brewster, a resident artist who is currently hand-drawing the art on the walls and will be holding gallery exhibitions in the café. BSKT also has resident yoga and pilates instructors, and their classes were being phtotographed by every lycra-wearing female that walked past. The room is not in anyway like a Melbourne café. It's more a blend of spacious café and restaurant. The fact that there was liberal alcohol flowing from 12noon leads me to think that these guys better start opening during the evening - as the menu (other than the few breakfast dishes) can be served in exactly the same style in the evening without anyone raising an eyebrow. Not sure how the booze fits into the healty-eating ethos, but I'm not complaining. The menu is split into Breakfast and Smaller and Larger dishes. I never thought I would say this about the Gold Coast, but the menu design was a breath of fresh air. Out with the 'let's do it cause everyone else is doing it' smashed avocado and 'eggs done all the same way with a different sauce to varying degrees of success'. Instead dishes actually got you thinking - antioxidant fruits, super berry acao pancakes, Navajo native breakfast, squid and soba noodle salad and organic super grain breads. That, my friends, is what I call interesting. We got in for lunch after giving an overpriced food market a wide berth ordered a coffee which, for a place that had no interest of claiming any sort of single origin or small batch roast, really hit the mark compared to the majority of rubbish lining the coast. I went in for the 18hr Sticky Pork. The best sticky pork in my mind comes from Chin Chin, so I had it on a high pedestal. Saying that most Coasters haven't been there so have nothing to compare it to. Warning to wary meat eaters, this is quite a heavy pork dish but the balance of chilli vinegar, cherry tomatoes, shredded raw vegetables and sour herb salad helped. But I did find a lack of the crispy pork I was promised. The Grey Nurse (sorry mum, but I have to give you a relevant name) decided on the Indian-style lamb curry. I loved the presentation of this dish and how the kitchen has tried to set themselves apart with the inclusion of Australian brown rice. The yoghurt riata and lean lamb rubbed in BSKT's very own specialty spices leant a simultaneous warmth and cooling to the palette that had the Nurse beaming. The café had only been open for a week, but they have found their feet and have an appreciative clientle. If you are living there or plan to travel to the coast - put BSKT Cafe high on the list - or risk being labelled a BSKT case. P.S. If you are flying in or out of the GC airport (Coolangatta) I have your lunch and dinner spot lined up. Justin Lane does pizzas. But they do them better than anywhere else on the coast and in their own unpretentious style. They have one of the best bars for you to perch at and are worth seeking out - I reckon it's a much better option than Bread + Butter down in Kirra, which I have heard is full of sun-damaged old people trying to relive their youth. So add Justin Lane to your itinerary, too. Follow @Shark4ChipDrink

Yelp
Wonderful concept, unfortunately our server was stoned or daft, and my food was boring and bland. I really wanted the blueberry pancakes, and as this was midday, the server informed me that they no longer serve pancakes after 11:30am. I found this annoying, since nowhere does it state this on the menu, and one of the lunch items comes with (savoury) pancakes, and as we were leaving, we saw a guy eating scrambled eggs. What the deuce?!! I settled on the warm quinoa salad, even though that wasn't anywhere near where my heart was! For some reason, the server placed everyone's order but my own. Everyone was done their meal before my salad made an appearance. Lame-o. After we enquired where the heck my meal was, she had to ask me what it was I ordered, as she clearly has a 10 second memory, and probably the munchies. Heck, maybe she ate my salad?!! It was bland and boring anyways, and definitely not a stand alone dish. It would be a fab accompaniment, but I'd hate to eat a full bowl of it. It could use some ginger or chilli or seasoning, or better yet, all of the above. So definitely 2 strikes, maybe more. Worth another shot, and like I said, I love the concept, but the execution was poor.

Yelp
Great menu, it was so hard to decide what I wanted, everything looked good! I ended up going for the fish tacos, they were nice and light but probably a bit too pricey. My friend had the duck curry which was awesome!

Yelp
BSKT is a great cafe, offering a large variety of meals with a focus on healthy and clean eating. Which is a bit strange because they also sell alcohol, but, yay! It's all about balance. I had the sublime salmon aburi, a delicious juice and a coco whip - it all made my taste buds happy. The service was friendly and the vibe was cool and beachy, not your average GC place. Can't wait to get back there for breakfast, the menu looks amazing.

Yelp

Yelp
Hipster Healthy, little over priced but nice food. Food came out real quick. Young waitress nice to your face but attitude once left table

Yelp
If you're into "superfoods" (let's not start on the question science to support even more questionable claims) then this is a great place to stop in for breakfast. We attended on a Sunday morning at prime time (9ish) and the place was packed. Yet the service was fast and polite - we were probably in and out in under 30 mins for four people. Pricing is a bit on the high side and the ingredients can be a bit wanky (just give me toast, not super toast) but overall enjoyable. A side of avocado ($4) will get you half an avocado. It's really only losing a star for the coffee, it was fine but not not "good".

Yelp
I got the pancakes and they were totally awesome. I bet that I will have dreams about them. Too bad this place is on the other side of the world...I would totally go back to try everything on the menu.

Yelp
BSKT came up on Google as one of the closest breakfast places to our accomodation. When we arrived I was dismayed at how busy it looked (Im from Melbourne where the one hour wait for brunch is the norm / bane of my existence) but to my surprise we were seated and served straight away. The food was delicious and we were all very satisfied but I have to say, the service was so, so lovely. Maybe I'm just too used to Melbourne hipster bullsh*t but it's a breath of fresh air to be treated so well.

Yelp
Good feed and good coffee. Bit too busy for a casual country lad. Definatley more chill places in the locality a little further from beach.

Yelp
What a brilliant restaurant and what a menu! I had no idea that healthy could taste so sophisticated. We went with a group of 7 that included 2 coeliacs and the menu was supportive for all of us. The wine list was short sharp and perfect. The atmosphere was funky easy and fun with relaxed and efficient service. I has the vegan paleo zucchini pasta with kale and basil pesto. Fantastic what a wonderful meal. The waitperson suggested a side of chicken and it was perfect. Booking on the weekend is a must.

Yelp
Super pretentious Smoothies are undrinkable Food is below par Coffee can be excellent at times

Yelp
I love this place, the protein smoothie was delicious and I really enjoyed the half seared Tuna, Id never see Tuna presented that way before and it was delicious! WOOOOOOHOOOOOO

Yelp
Very nice food, but quite pricy. Coffee also very acceptable. Plus beach views are possible... but difficult to get!
google avatar

Matthew S.

Yelp
We were told this place was a bit pretentious with all the fashionable kale and quinoa references scattered through the menu. It does have a fixation on this and coconut (CocaWhip, anyone?), but the food is yummy and the staff are friendly despite being particularly busy on this day. They bring their A game to the coffee making, which is always a priority in my book, but they also care about their food. They have it setup as a cocktail place at night, but we didn't visit for this. Being so close to the beach (millionaires row nearby), there are lots of beautiful sights so it's great for watching the world go by.

Yelp
Awesome spot on the beach with great dairy free and gluten free offerings but also regular hearty breaky as well. Good service and nice atmosphere. Coming from Los Angeles this is a great find for me.
google avatar

Yelp
I know everyone raves about this place, I don't see it!! It's pretty expensive & sooooo annoying when they won't swap things on a dish, instead will take it off but charge you extra for anything you add! Great location, I will give them that! Inside was very squishy with 4 of us barely able to fit our plates on the table!
google avatar

Yelp
Love this place, such a different vibe for breakfast, I am in love with the eggs bene with kaleinaise... Not sure if that's how you spell it...

Yelp
Just ordered a soy flat white looking over runners and surfers on Albatros avenue. Great gluten free and dairy free options. Brilliant location and nice staff.

Yelp
Service was very poor, way over booked.food and drink came out very slow and was not the best taste..I couldn't finish mine..

Bole A.

Yelp
Had a brunch here yesterday. We had pretty high expectations after reading reviews and admiring their Instagram. Sadly we were a little underwhelmed. We LOVED the concept of "delivering delicious justice" and the menu had numerous options for vegetarians, vegans, paleo, gluten and dairy free diets. Sadly, what we ordered on this day, just didn't delivery deliciousness. I ordered the veggie plate and it was a bit boring. There was little to no seasoning (lucky there was salt and pepper on the table for my avo). I was sold on this dish as it has mushrooms, but they were the worst part of the dish. They were dry and shrivelled. I know this their deal it healthy, but a dash of EVOO or even a healthy squeeze of lemon would have helped with the mushroom and the whole dish. The service was kinda bland too. We caught ourselves doing "reverse customer service" to the staff. Maybe our expectations were too high...

Yelp
Best sticky pork ever! Definitely lots of other amazing meals ! I live 2 hours away and we drove there last night for the third time in 10 months because of how good it is! Great service with knowledgable staff, definitely recommended wide range of unique drinks aswell!

Yelp
Staff are friendly, the have warmers if your in the shade. Great organic food and a lovely place to bring the kids. There is an outdoor play area they loved.

Yelp
Great food, a little on the costly side though. Customer service was a little slack when I went their but overall experience was good.

Yelp
I wish I could take this place with me everywhere I travel. In our 4 days of visiting the Gold Coast we had breakfast twice here and lunch once. The best part about this place is they serve healthy food that tastes great. I live in San Diego so I know what Mexican food should taste like. Their fish tacos reminded me of baja style fish tacos and I loved them! The flat white was amazing too!
