I visited BSL Clinic while in Bangkok for business and had an excellent experience that genuinely stood out for its professionalism and standard of care. From the outset, communication was clear and thorough. Pricing, treatment options, and timing were explained transparently over email ahead of my appointment, which I personally found very professional and reassuring. On arrival, the staff were attentive, calm, and well organised. I had a doctor-led consultation (with no additional consultation fee, which is very different from London clinics), and the doctor took the time to understand my background, skin type, and concerns. I have very fair Celtic skin, with longstanding facial redness and sensitivity, and I had done extensive research before attending. Rather than recommending aggressive treatments, the approach was conservative and exactly aligned with what I felt was appropriate — vascular laser (long-pulse Nd:YAG and IPL) to reduce background redness on my face and chest. The treatment itself was extremely well managed, with cooling gel and ice packs throughout. Pain was minimal, downtime has been very manageable, and early results are already visible. I also underwent fractional laser (Fraxel-type) treatment for body scars. I was initially concerned about cost, as pricing is per area, and I expected my scarring might require 10–20 areas. I was very clear about my upper limit. I was genuinely impressed by the clinic’s honesty — after careful assessment, they advised that my scarring amounted to only 4 areas, significantly less than expected. This level of transparency was extremely reassuring. Topical anaesthetic and cooling were used for the fractional laser, and I felt virtually nothing during treatment. Immediate post-treatment appearance was excellent, with no burning, blistering, or adverse effects. Each step was explained clearly, and I always knew what was happening and why. While BSL may be more expensive than some Bangkok clinics, the treatments were doctor-administered, which is not always the case elsewhere. Compared with London, doctor-led laser treatment of this calibre would be significantly more expensive. Given my skin type and the fact we are treating the face and visible areas, expert medical judgement was absolutely worth it. I was offered skincare products but felt no pressure to purchase. I declined most as I already have an established routine and only took key aftercare items. Overall, I was extremely impressed — clinically, professionally, and ethically. Clear communication, honest pricing, excellent medical care, minimal downtime, and early results that already look very promising. I would confidently recommend BSL Clinic, particularly for patients who value doctor-led, conservative, evidence-based laser treatments. Needed some clarifications from my travel insurance company, wrote in specifically with the requirements needed, got a smart-alec reply from the customer service and no updates after that, lapsing my travel insurance claim. Wont be returning since this is the kind of post service that I be getting.

Very professional and a better experience than in Australia. I had freckles and sun spots treated with Picowave laser at the BSL clinic. Very happy with the results. I had previously had pico laser & IPL done in Australia. The differences? The treatment is done by a medical doctor at BSL instead of a technician in Australia. They applied topical anaesthetic prior to the treatment and used a cooling airflow during the treatment- I felt no pain. In Australia I had to ask for cooling air and was not offered the topical anaesthetic. The aftercare was excellent too. I was sent home with various potions and clear instructions on how to use them - even the bottles were numbered. Immediately after the treatment my freckles and sunspots darkened - it did look like I had a horrible disease for a few days. After a week they had mostly flaked off. After 10 days they were all gone. One treatment gets rid of about 80% of the pigmentation. It was about $A1000, which is double what I paid for pico laser in Australia, but the experience and outcomes were better.

I attended BSL Clinic for a consultation and ultimately decided not to pursue treatment. My experience raised several concerns that I feel are important for others to be aware of. 1. Strong emphasis on upselling before seeing the doctor Before meeting the doctor, a member of the reception team spent a significant amount of time showing me multiple treatment options and explaining different combinations they recommend. This created an early impression that the clinic places a heavy emphasis on upselling, even before a medical assessment has been completed. The same staff member then stayed in the consultation room during the medical examination. 2. Consultation felt scripted toward multi-treatment packages The doctor examined my skin with a bright light and magnifying instrument. This part was thorough, and several issues were identified, including sunspots, uneven tone, redness, and mild seborrheic keratoses. Each issue was linked to a different modality, and the receptionist nodded along, giving the impression that this is a routine pitch designed to steer patients toward multiple combined treatments. The recommended package included PicoWay, PicoToning and Fraxel, along with a separate laser for the keratoses. A discounted price for taking all treatments together was offered. After doing my own research, I learned that combining these modalities is quite aggressive and carries higher downtime and risk of post-treatment pigment issues. It did not feel like a conservative or risk-managed approach. I was also given information about Rejuran injections for the under-eye area, despite this having no relevance to the concerns I came in for (sunspots and uneven tone), which further reinforced the impression of routine upselling. 3. Major discrepancy in the number of lesions to be treated During my first consultation, I was told that up to 10 CO₂ laser shots would be required for the seborrheic keratoses, and I was quoted a price accordingly. When I returned to start treatment, the receptionist informed me—before I saw the doctor—that the number had increased to 40 shots. I requested to see the doctor again. She examined my skin and marked around 40 spots. However, on close inspection, most of these markings did not correspond to any visible lesion. This sudden increase raised questions about consistency and transparency in assessment and pricing. 4. Additional pressure to add Fraxel on the day of treatment On the day of the scheduled procedure, I was once again encouraged to add Fraxel laser, which contributed further to my discomfort about aggressive upselling. 5. Concerns about review practices Although the clinic appears to have many positive reviews, I noticed one review mentioning that complimentary products were provided in exchange for five-star feedback. I asked about this directly, and the receptionist confirmed that this does occur. This practice made it difficult for me to trust the reliability of publicly posted reviews. 6. Decision not to proceed While the doctor appeared competent, the overall experience felt commercially driven rather than patient-centred. The combination of aggressive upselling, inconsistency in treatment assessment, and confirmation of incentivised reviews led me to decide not to undergo treatment at this clinic. If you are looking for a conservative, risk-managed approach without pressure to commit to multiple procedures, you may want to consider other options.

Serious Safety Concern – Lack of Oculus Shield Use During Eyelid Procedure: I wanted to do laser on the eyelids but they do not practice using oculus shield to protect my eyes. This is a critical safety measure that should never be overlooked, especially in procedures involving close contact with the delicate eye area, laser devices, or any tools that carry a risk of injury or accidental exposure to the eyeball. I do not understand this when the staff assured me that the doctor is very professional and no injury has happened before. I am willing to spend money towards the fraxel dual service for my eyelids but I am disappointed with the lack of professionalism and commitment to safety. In my country when I did laser on my lids, shields are always used. It really goes without saying. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and used as an opportunity to improve. No patient should ever have to worry about their eye health due to preventable negligence.
