Tucked away in a cheap mall, BSL Clinic is not hard to find on the ground floor. However, that may be the best thing about this clinic.
From the very first message I sent them to make an appointment based on a specific request, they were already hard selling an overpriced procedure (1.5x market rate despite their poor location) without concern for my needs or medical history.
Even if you have made an appointment way in advance, they will make you wait for over an hour just to see the doctor. They are also extremely unprofessional in handling the paperwork, failing to request for proper identification prior to procedure.
In my case, I was told that the doctor was still in midst of a procedure. When he finally emerged from the back, it was with a female doctor or nurse who was giggling and disheveled, walking tipsily on barefoot while holding her hair up to prevent her messy ponytail from further unraveling.
He then unabashedly continued with his gleeful demeanor from whatever that just happened behind the closed doors that he emerged from, as he went on to address my issues as though my time wasted on waiting for him to finish meant nothing at all. He continued to go into great lengths to prescribe and explain procedures that I was already familiar with, while referring to a 3D model of my face on the computer screen that grossly exaggerated even the pore size and skin texture to an unrealistic extent, obviously designed to terrorize unsuspecting patients into feeling even worse than they already do about their medical issues so that they will pay more for procedures they don’t need.
Offended by the doctor’s lack of professionalism in his bedside manners and his disregard for my time wasted waiting outside for over an hour, I didn’t have confidence in anything that he was saying. Especially when he said that he could perform the procedures so quickly that no anesthesias would be required whatsoever. Having undergone similar treatments before, I was horrified by his outlandish claims.
Fortunately, I was running out of time and had to excuse myself from the ordeal. The doctor’s face immediately changed from one that was formerly smiling and gloating, to a stern and menacing stare, when I told him I had to go and for his staff to send me the price quotes on his recommended treatments so that I can make a follow up appointment for them.
While his front desk staff are all dressed professionally and extremely polite, they failed to follow up with any communication whatsoever. It also seemed like the front desk staff to medical staff ratio was grossly outnumbered. If they had spent more on hiring more clinical staff, they might not have to make patients wait hours just for a simple procedure.
Overall, the unprofessional behavior and poor time management that BSL Clinic displayed from the first point of contact to in person interaction convinced me never to return, and to warn others who may be unaware of their business tactics. If you’re not willing to pay 1.5 to 3 times the market rate for procedures you don’t need and don’t respond well to their attempts to erode your self esteem along the way, you will not make a good customer for BSL. Don’t waste your time and effort here.
