The hotel would not allow me to cancel my booking the day before my stay despite it being on the deadline for cancelling and having a valid reason. I even asked to rebook for another date which was declined without reason. Awful customer service

affordable, easy last minute housing (24/7 check-in) and very comfortable and modern rooms, situated less than 100m from the train station. Perfect when German trains are on strike!

Absolutely poor customer service, did not want to accommodate my request to change the booking date due to unforeseen circumstances.. They were rude and were not interested in hearing my valid reason for needing to do change the dates. Absolutely awful service.

Rooms were alright but little bit narrow yet clean enough. Location was good close to train station walking distance to city center. There are no reception at hotel but there is a self check in machine which is easy to use but only card to pay no cash. There are free wifi. At room free basel card were preapered and ready to use which is amazing to have, duration of staying it is free to use the public transportation and some discounts. At entrance there are free coffee and tea. At day everything is fine but at night location is becoming low life profile. Other guest were really loud and walls are really thin. We didn't feel safe. If you are not with family and looking for place to just for sleeping and nothing more you may choose it otherwise nor recommending.

Near the station, realy good location, close to everything. Self check in was not working, but there were a lady who can help us. For a 1-3day stay it is good. Free coffe near the entrance. Only the breakfast what I missed.

If you need a nice quiet comfortable room just across from the main railway station, then this is a place worth considering. They make a selling point of the automated check-in and it works very well, if you just follow the instructions. I had pre-booked which might have made things easier. My room was clean comfortable and the shower and wi-fi worked well. It is what you would expect for a 2 or 3 star hotel. The lift has two doors, the plastic card to get in and out worked well, once I had got a hand on how to swipe it. Breakfast options are what you might expect and the quality is good, but it is all self-service and remember to look in the cupboards below eye-level for jam, butter, cheese eggs etc. Any grumbles? Well the floor of my shower could do with re-surfacing. Most of the British TV channels weren't working, but BBC World and CNN were. (I was following the Brexit votes in parliament at the time.) In the morning you can hear a few gurgles from the plumbing as people get up and have a shower, etc. The bus to and from the airport is just in front of the station, so for those like me with an early/late flight it is ideal (Cost 6.10 CH Frs.) Overall it is unremarkable, but of a good standard if you are just staying for a few nights.

It‘s very well located, just a minute from the train station. The self-checkin system is a bit creepy, but works well. my room was in the first floor with a view on a wall. this was completely okay, however, there was a disgusting smell of sweat in the whole room, also the blankets smelled like this. for the price, I‘d absolutely not recommend it and never go there again.

This place is overpriced and definitely doesn't deserve 3 stars. The electronic check-in, supposed to be efficient, asks for your data again. Then no clear indication for our room. But above all, everything is so small! Impossible to fit 2 people in the lift, so now imagine with voluminous luggage late at night coming from a lo long journey ... No space in the bathroom and for the suitcases in the room... Comfort was average. So it would probably be more suited for party people that need to be close to the station. So in summary, instead of the name "b_smart" let's call it "be_dumb" !
