Delicious food and great service! The food was excellent with generous portion sizes. The hot butter cuttlefish was absolutely good. The flavor of the pepper beef was great too, though the texture was tough and chewy that day. Service was friendly. While the beach near the restaurant is currently eroded (not the restaurant’s fault), it’s expected to recover by February with the season. Prices are slightly higher compared to nearby places, but the taste and overall experience definitely make it worthwhile.

The dishes were tasty and the portion sizes were generous. The hot butter cuttlefish stood out in particular. The staff were warm and welcoming, and service was pleasant throughout. At the moment, the property is undergoing renovations. There were times when drilling was happening and dust carried by the wind became a bit uncomfortable while dining. In addition, despite the wide variety shown on the menu, several items were unavailable when we asked, which was a little disappointing. The beachfront is presently experiencing seasonal erosion, a natural situation unrelated to the restaurant, and is expected to improve in due course. The quality of the food and the friendly service of the staff who served us still make it worth a visit.

BuBa Beach Restaurant in Bentota offers a relaxed beachfront dining experience with delicious seafood and Sri Lankan specialties. The Sri Lankan curry dishes were flavorful and authentic, with fresh ingredients and balanced spices. Service was friendly and welcoming. The casual vibe makes it ideal for families and couples alike. A lovely place to enjoy Bentota’s coastal charm.

It's a nice an scenic place in Mount Lavinia but I cannot recommend it. They don't serve beer, but a group of guys at the next table drink whisky from the bottle. The good was the worst experience I had in a long time. They served more than I actually ordered and in the end I had to pay 6.000 Rs for some mediocre rice and seafood that wasn't fresh. Stay away from that place.

The location of this place is absolutely amazing. The service was also great and can not be faulted. There is also a huge selection of food to choose from, which is great. The reason I am only giving this place a 3star is we ordered the seafood platter which was not cheap. The second it came out, it was swarmed with a large amount of flies to the point it became inedible. It really ruined the experience. My suggestion here is staff are aware of the situation and advise guests to sit in certain places or put out relevant candles that keep flies away. The candles you used clearly do not work. It's a shame as this venue could have easily been a 5 star

While the atmosphere is pleasant, the food quality didn't quite match the price point, leaving me feeling it wasn't the best value. Despite this, I had a wonderful time celebrating a birthday there, which speaks to the restaurant's potential for social gatherings. I would recommend Buba Beach Seafood Restaurant more for a fun night out with friends than a family dinner, as the atmosphere seems better suited for a more casual, adult-oriented experience.

I recently visited Buba Beach Seafood Restaurant and had a wonderful experience. I chose to sit outside, near the sea, which offered a breathtaking view. The restaurant also has an indoor seating area, but I preferred to enjoy my meal with the stunning sea view. I ordered the hot batter calamari and a grilled crab. The calamari was delicious, and the crab was good too, although it would have been better if they provided tools to help break the crab shell, as it was a bit challenging at times. Overall, the food was delicious, and the view was the highlight of my visit. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking to enjoy great seafood with a fantastic sea view.

Nice place to relax, 30min south from Colombo by train. I used the way from the railway station Mount Lavinia to the beach do to the hotel Dehiwala near by.
