Despite this, I had a wonderful time celebrating a birthday there, which speaks to the restaurant's potential for social gatherings. I would recommend Buba Beach Seafood Restaurant more for a fun night out with friends than a family dinner, as the atmosphere seems better suited for a more casual, adult-oriented experience.

Located right on the sand in Mount Lavinia, it offers beautiful sunset views and a peaceful ocean breeze—perfect for an evening out with friends or a casual date. The seafood is fresh and well-prepared—especially the grilled prawns and seafood rice. The menu has a good variety, and portions are generous. The hot butter cuttlefish is a must-try! Service is friendly. The setting is simple and rustic, with outdoor seating right on the beach—so don’t be surprised if you’re dining barefoot in the sand. It’s not fine dining, but the atmosphere and flavours make up for it. A great place to relax, unwind, and enjoy good food by the sea.

The location of this place is absolutely amazing. The service was also great and can not be faulted. There is also a huge selection of food to choose from, which is great. The reason I am only giving this place a 3star is we ordered the seafood platter which was not cheap. The second it came out, it was swarmed with a large amount of flies to the point it became inedible. It really ruined the experience. My suggestion here is staff are aware of the situation and advise guests to sit in certain places or put out relevant candles that keep flies away. The candles you used clearly do not work. It's a shame as this venue could have easily been a 5 star

I recently visited Buba Beach Seafood Restaurant and had a wonderful experience. I chose to sit outside, near the sea, which offered a breathtaking view. The restaurant also has an indoor seating area, but I preferred to enjoy my meal with the stunning sea view. I ordered the hot batter calamari and a grilled crab. The calamari was delicious, and the crab was good too, although it would have been better if they provided tools to help break the crab shell, as it was a bit challenging at times. Overall, the food was delicious, and the view was the highlight of my visit. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking to enjoy great seafood with a fantastic sea view.

Ate a fantastic leisurely lunch there with family. Very rustic, the view and breeze is fantastic. Their sea food platter is a must and large enough easily for 4 to 5 adults, there are about 5 medium sized lobsters in there. Service was slow but you got to expect that at such shacks. Beer was expensive by Sri Lankan standards and learnt later that they allow BYOB so they get full marks from me.

This place is really nice with an amazing sea view! The food and bites are very reasonably priced, and it’s a great place to relax. Highly recommended!

I think this is the best beach in both colombo and mount lavinia. It’s the only clean beach where you can’t see any trash. Free sunbeds if you order food/drinks. Very nice place with lots of trees

Environment is fantastic and overall clean. Food is acceptable at the price. Service is not great but ok.
