San Francisco’s Best Places to Eat and Drink During the Super Bowl

"Is Pier 39’s Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., a chain restaurant named after a problematic character from a problematic movie, a place this website would recommend on any other day of the year? Unlikely. But on Super Bowl Sunday, Bubba Gump’s is offering an all-day happy hour that includes $3.50 well drinks, margaritas, and bloody marys. Besides, at halftime, you can go check out Pier 39’s sea lions." - Eve Batey

A truly memorable experience at Bubba Gump Shrimp — amazing food, top-notch service, and unbeatable views! We had such a great time dining here. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed warmly by Claire, who absolutely nailed it with her service. She seated us at a dream table — right next to the window with a gorgeous view of the bay, Alcatraz, and even the Golden Gate Bridge in the distance. It was the kind of setting that makes you stop and soak in the moment. Claire was friendly, attentive, and on point the entire time — one of the best servers we’ve had in a long time! We ordered three different plates and shared everything so we could try a bit of everything: 🦀 Crab and Shrimp Boil – A flavorful Southern-style seafood feast packed with perfectly cooked shrimp and crab legs, along with juicy sausage, corn on the cob, and red potatoes. Everything was seasoned perfectly and came out piping hot. Every bite felt like comfort food done right. 🐟 Forrest’s Seafood Feast – This platter had a little bit of everything — crispy fried shrimp, golden hush puppies, flaky fried fish, seasoned fries, and creamy coleslaw. The textures were spot on, and each bite had a nice balance of crunch and flavor. The hush puppies were surprisingly delicious — slightly sweet and perfectly fried. 🍤 Shrimp Heaven – My brother ordered this one, and it really lived up to its name! The plate came with three styles of shrimp: light and crispy tempura shrimp, sweet and crunchy coconut shrimp, and classic golden fried shrimp. It was a shrimp lover’s dream, and each style had its own unique taste and texture. He enjoyed every single bite! The service was consistently excellent. Claire made sure we were taken care of without being overbearing. The food came out quickly, and the entire staff seemed to be working in sync, creating a really pleasant dining environment. We left full, satisfied, and already talking about coming back. Between the beautiful setting, delicious food, and incredible service, this place is definitely worth visiting. Highly recommend — 5 stars all the way!

Google
Well... it feels like you step into the movie when you go in this place from names, to pictures to little quotes all over the place... be ready for a good stroll down the memory lane with this one (well unless you have never seen Forest Gump .. then well.. go see it i guess!) The place on top of all the fun Forest things, has also an amazing view of the water and at sun down when cities light up, it is an amazing view to watch, the place is huge, and staff are super fast and helpful so waits have not been crazy at all the few times we've been there. Food : good Menu Diversity : fairly diverse mostly sea food Atmosphere : hands down epic ( for movie fans :D ) Access : we have always driven and parked in the garage, but it is super walkable and accisble through any form of transportation, People : nice cleanness : clean

Google
Celebrated my daughter’s birthday here, and if was so much fun! The food, atmosphere and service were great. As a bonus, we an amazing view of Alcatraz. Have been going for years and will definitely return. Will say, if you don’t like loud environments and different languages/cultures around you, you might want to skip it… lastly, I recommend the pink lemonade (alcoholic). Delish!!!

Google
I loved this place. Exquisite food, excellent service. The shrimp and crab rolls were our favorite. A little pricey, but worth it. I would definitely go back if I lived in San Francisco. We'll have to go back when we visit this city again. We left with a good taste in our mouths. The views are also phenomenal.

Google
Bubba Gump Shrimp is a whole vibe — perfect for anyone looking to stop by for a quick bite like Forrest’s Seafood Feast or the Jumbo Shrimper’s Net Catch, both of which I highly recommend. Don’t skip the calamari either — it’s a great starter! For fans of Forrest Gump, this place is more than just a restaurant — it’s an emotion. A must-visit spot if you're heading to Pier 39!

Always pick Bubba for my lunch or dinner if I’m near the Pier. It’s such a fun environment, staff, and the location ocean views are a plus. The food is phenomenal, they never change the menu and the food is literally so good. Love me bubba gump shrimp. 10/10

Google
Our waiter, Chris, was great!! We had the BEST view of Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge! All of our food, and drinks were delicious (some even came with a cute souvenir glass for a decent price).

Google
We requested to be seated next to the windows because we wanted to see the birds, and we did. The host and our server (charles) had been very friendly. We had a reservation via opentable so we didn’t have to wait after checking in. Food is great and I love the “of course we have scampi”. I’ll order it again when I come back, as well as their amazing garlic bread.

Yelp
Great food and a lot of great history. Bubba Gumps is a great place to eat with friends and family. Bubba Gumps is also in a nice area on Pier 39 with a lot of fun/great attractions to do with friends and family. The service is always great. There is sometimes a long wait, but it's worth it. The food is bustin and delicious. God bless you all and this business.

Yelp
Decided to give this place a fair shot the other day and honestly I didn't think it was that bad. Food was mid at best but everything else was exceptional. Great staff, view and decor. Wait time was about 30-40 minutes in the late afternoon. Didn't feel long since there's a lot to look at along the walls and also the gift shop just across. Highlight was seeing the Lt. Dan confetti meme on the TVs playing the movie. Ordered 4 dishes in which only 2 I thought was worth it. The not so good options were the appetizer sampler and the shrimp boil. Appetizer sampler had a few different things but just way too little of it. Went half & half with the shrimp boil. Though it tasted great it was just a miss when it's not sauced up in a bag like at any other cajun boil restaurants. For the mains all 3 of us ordered the exact same dish lol. The "I'm stuffed shrimp". Five big shrimps with a dollop of crab stuffing, lobster sauce and monterey jack cheese. Hit the spot and I was for sure stuffed by the end of it. To top everything off we got the Strawberry Shortcake for dessert. Shortcake was warm, soft and was superb with the ice cream. Could you get better food at the same price elsewhere? Absolutely. Do those restaurants cater to your nostalgia of a beloved classic 90s movie? Probably not. If you're a fan of the movie and haven't been, I'd recommend to go one time for the one time.

Yelp
Not a great experience for my family of 4..... The service was ok, the food was mediocre (especially for the price). If you expect people to pay $25-$30 for a meal, then the food should be worth $25-$30. The fish and chips were slimy and the reading was falling off of it. The fries were cold and had almost no flavor. It was fun for us to say that we have now eaten at a bubba gumps but we will not be returning

Yelp
Is this place trendy? Well, I guess so if you love the movie...it evokes the ambiance of a traditional American eatery from the New England area. The best thing about this place are the amaze balls view of the Bay! Sheltered from the blistering winds of Pier 39, you can enjoy some decent standard fare seafood based on shrimp mostly. Nothing fancy. Is it romantic? Meh. I suppose it could be if you are on a date. They have a range of seating arrangements that can cater to a couple as well as bigger booths for families and groups of friends. Lastly the servers and staff are kind and typical on a Thursday lunch service when it wasn't too busy. So if you have friends in town or you're tourist coming to the Wharf to sightsee, stop by this place for some reasonably priced food that more than pays for itself in the visuals.

Yelp
My mamma always said, " Life is like a box of chocolates - you never know what you're gonna get" Bubba Gump Shrimp is an awesome ode to the movie Forest Gump. It's cool how you get your waiters attention by flipping the cards on the table to say "Run Forest Run" or "Stop Forest Stop." The staff come by and do movie trivia :) If you can get a window seat, DO IT! You'll have a beautiful view of the bay, Alcatraz, and the ships in the harbor. The food is good. It's basic seafood so for the price, I gave it 4 stars. I like the coconut shrimp with that dipping sauce! :P The wait can be a while on weekends, but the weekdays are much better. This is a great place to take a family. Run to bubba Gumps!

Yelp
We were seated right away when we got there. The service was great and all of the servers were very attentive. The food was not all that great. I felt like it was pretty pricey for what portions you received. The calamari had more friend sweet pepper or bell peppers than calamari. I guess they add that in to make it look like you get a big portion? The Cajun combo was okay but the crab legs didn't have much meat. The view is nice of where we were seated. I just wish the the food was better.

Yelp
This is one of the popular destinations in Pier 39 and for good reason. The dining room has no bad seats as all face the SF Bay with views of the Golden Gate Bridge & Alcatraz. On a clear day as our visit, it made the experience great! The shriimp & crab sandwich was delish. Both were fresh & sweet with no other ingredients but a little mayo. This plus the sampler were the perfect lunch for two. Service was friendly & attentive. Serveral servers checked in on us through our meal. It was a great & relaxing meal

Yelp
Fun touristy location in Pier39 with a beautiful view of the bay. We were seated after a 20min wait at a table with a great view of Alcatraz. Fun decor inside. Food was good and inexpensive for seafood. Service was a bit slow and our waiter was pretty much missing most of the time. We had to flag down others to ask for things or refills on our drinks.

Yelp
My brother and my sister in law had lunch here last Saturday. We ordered the Crab & Shrimp Rolls, the Shrimp Mac & Cheese, the Forrest Seafood Feast, the Shrimper's Net Catch and the Caramel Pecan Butter Cake for dessert. All the food we had was just delicious! We especially liked the Crab & Shrimp Rolls because they were made with real crab and not imitation crab. I hadn't had real crab in a very long time and those rolls were a real treat for us! The fried fish in the Forrest Seafood Feast was so good! Our server Alexis was very helpful and treated us very well. We also got to know James the very friendly manager. The view of San Francisco Bay from the very large windows was just great. I was so amazed at all of the wonderful "Forrest Gump" movie memorabilia decorations all throughout the restaurant. It almost made me want to watch the movie all over again!

Yelp
Maker's Mark Salmon: The best flavor salmon I ever had. I believe the side sauce is the same thing that's coated in the salmon. It's sweet and tangy, definitely a familiar taste in Asian cuisine. I give it 4/5 stars because it was a bit too cooked so the texture wasn't buttery, more so falling off in chunks. AND the broccoli, way too overcooked, it almost tasted old and was falling apart. Service is great, very fast and attentive. The sign is really cool, flip the red card over and it means you need help, blue means you don't need help. You can validate your parking if eating here and the vibe is very boat themed.

Yelp
I was visiting the pier 39 and saw that they had a bubba gum shrimp restaurant. The service was ok you have to flip the signs to stop Forrest stop for them to come to you but sometimes the servers don't notice. The food was okay too most of the items were shrimp and the Cajun sauce is okay. Overall a good restaurant to try once.

Yelp
Been going to this place for a while everytime I visit Sf, coz why not because food was great. But today was totally different. Food was totally different ordered fish and chips, calamari, mahi mahi and clam chowder. Clam chowder was ok, mahi mahi was good but the calamari was all fried peppers and tomatoes and the few calamari was hard and some are just crumbs. The fish was overcooked, hard and dry the chips have no taste and also I see that the servings were too little this time compared before but the price went up. The service was okay we waited over an hour today because it's holiday and that is given.

Yelp
Our food was made fast even though the whole restaurant was packed , the food was flavorful ! our server wasn't the best but she did stop a few times to make sure everything was good , we had a table right next to the window and it was a beautiful view i will definitely be going back !

Yelp
5/10! So, me and my closet friends visited San Francisco and thought we'd give Bubba Gump Shrimp a go since we were in the mood for seafood and hadn't been there before. The food was alright, nothing special, and the prices were a bit steep. I mean, I get it, it's by the ocean and all, but still. The service was good though, our server was super friendly. The Coke we ordered was kinda flat, not like the fizzy ones you get at In-N-Out or McDonald's. All in all, it was okay, but I wouldn't suggest it to anyone visiting from out of town.
google avatar

Yuria G.

Yelp
The view of the ocean is so beautiful!! The staff is friendly and the restaurant is always busy. I ordered Jambalaya and the shrimp was tender and delicious. After the meal, we got a glass at a souvenir shop. We had a good time there.

Joy T.

Yelp
Whenever we are at pier 39, we eat here and we were always seated by the window or at least facing it. First time we were seated at the back even though there was a seat available by the window. Hope next time they can seat at us at our usual window place. Still food is good
google avatar

Angelica R.

Yelp
I received a text saying to visit host and I go up and go where it says stop forest stop and the employee tells me to go back to the host and basically doesn't want to seat/serve us and proceeds to speak badly about my family and I in Spanish and tells the other worker to tell us to move because we're in the way. I'm confused bc we were told to go to her section and meanwhile I'm Mexican and can understand. I am disgusted by the way I was treated here and won't be back.

Yelp
Bubba gump was probably the last choice i was making on the wharf but it turned out to be the best ! Service was super great , seafood boil was great even for 2 it was a great amount for 1 order. Added 1pound of shrimp to the boil and was so much food ! The ceviche was good and fresh . Was a great time at bubba gump ! Highly advise to come here

Yelp
First timer here! Funny thing is I've always seen the Bubba Gump Restaurant and I've never realized that it was an official Forrest Gump (movie) restaurant reference! lol. Walking in there are sooo many decorations and quotes that channel the forever classic movie Forrest Gump! I found the decorations to be so interesting and fun! They even have the official Forrest Gump movie playing on multiple TVs throughout the restaurant and funny movies references all over the place like the classic "Run Forrest, run!" lol. I was super excited to check this place out seeing as it is located on Pier 39 in San Francisco and SF always has really great seafood options! When we arrived we were greeted by a smiling host and given a few minute wait to be seated. While we waited, my boyfriend and I took a look around at all of the interesting and intricate decorations in the restaurant. It's definitely a pretty fun/funny theme for sure. When we were seated I noticed that even the menus items and drinks were ALL Forrest Gump movie references, which we found amusing. lol. We spotted two really awesome looking tiki drinks called the Tiki Rider and the Tiki Lagoon. We ordered those to start, as well as the Baja Ceviche w/chips appetizer. When our drinks arrived sadly.. they did not look like the photos at all.. lol. They did not have the same color as the photos nor did they have the pretty fresh fruit garnishes on top. This was a bit disappointing.. but the drinks themselves were pretty yummy! &The BEST part is that the Tiki drinks we ordered come with your own complimentary personal Bubba Gump Tiki glasses to take home after your meal, which I think is a super cool deal! :) The Baja Ceviche appetizer was pretty good but the chips were kinda stale and did not have seasoning nor salt on them.. I was super hungry so I didn't ask for new chips. Also after mixing the chips with the ceviche it wasn't so bad after all. (Just the chips alone were bad.. lol.) For the main course we ordered the Jumbalaya and the Forrest Surf and Turf Ribeye with French fries and white rice. My bf really loved his Jumbalaya and said the rice was super tasty and delicious. I enjoyed my Forrest Surf and Turf entree, however I did feel the shrimp needed more seasoning and they were a bit overcooked aka rough for shrimp texture. The ribeye was cooked well and juicy! I enjoyed my fries with ketchup and used the ketchup to add flavor to the semi-plain shrimp while sounds odd but helped a lot. lol. This restaurant has a really lovely view of the San Francisco Bay and we enjoyed watching the boats and birds fly by during our meal. Our server (forgot his name but a guy with a dark beard) was super helpful and provided great customer service! If I could rate this restaurant entirely on their staff and customer service?? I would give it a solid FIVE STARS because the staff here is honestly so friendly and helpful. However the food quality and pricing really doesn't match up enough in my opinion for 5 nor 4 stars. The food is definitely okay! Maybe even "good" enough but they definitely need to season their shrimp more and having chips that aren't stale would've been more ideal. Anyway! It could still be worth a try! If you prefer more plain food items as opposed food that is seasoned for extra taste? This could be the place for you. The service and the views are honestly both great! When we completed our meal, our server gave us a ticket to pick up our free Bubba Gump Tiki glasses at the gift shop across from the restaurant. If you love the Forrest Gump movie, definitely check out the gift shop! It has so many super fun and cool items to purchase.

Yelp
Average food, very chain restaurant type food. They accommodated our gluten allergy well using a separate fryer for our fries. However they brought the wrong fries the first time, so be careful and ask multiple times. The server was courteous and took care of our multiple needs.

Yelp
We came here after watching a street show on Pier 39, which was just below this restaurant. Sometimes we come here when we're doing the tourist thing, and the wait is so long, we say forget about it. But this time, there was only a 10 minute wait. Once we were seated, I gotta say, the best thing about this restaurant is those bay views, they were awesome, can you say great ambiance?? I ordered the macaroni and cheese with shrimp, it was really good but really small. But the service was very quick and friendly. I've been to Bubba Gump Shrimp in Hawaii, Vegas, and here in SF. And i gotta say, the consistency in these restaurants is unmatched!! Always a good experience here!!

Yelp
I hate to give establishments less than 3 stars, but when I feel they deserve it, well, not much I can do other than let you know my opinion. To put it plain and simply, the food and service was horrible, compared to before COVID. I get the COVID excuse, but some of these big establishments need to get over themselves. My wife and I have been going to these establishments for over 24 years. We first visited Bubba Gump on our honeymoon in Maui, HW. It was fantastic, and held so many precious memories for my wife and I. We received 3 complementary mugs/glasses because of the drinks we ordered, which was a really nice thing. We've been collecting them ever since, in the all the places we visit where there is a Bubba Gump. Now, just as a caveat, I am not a big fan of this place, as I feel it is a major commercialization outfit, but my wife loved the place, especially when they carried the occidental fish. Well, in our last visit to the San Fran establishment, we were unfortunately introduced to the post COVID cost cutting Bubba Gump. The service was sloppy... waited 20 minutes for my drink, the appetizers where half of what they used to be, when my drink arrived it was full of sugar and maybe half a shot of liquor, unlike the menu stated 4 liquors. We ordered two drinks. One came with the blue shaker glass, and the other came with a nice tiki drink glass. My wife ordered it, as it was new and reminded us of our first time at Bubba Gump in Maui back in 1999. She loved the glass and was so happy to get it, even though, I drank it all. Unfortunately, we didn't pay attention the hostess up front who loaded our glasses. She loaded a blue shaker and a Pilsner glass, which was wrong, but from the conversation I heard prior to them giving my glass, the manager said that there were no more tiki glasses and to just give me the pint. It would have been nice if they told me that. Anyways, this is probably the last time we will visit the Bubba Gump in San Fran, as it was a total disappointment this time.

Yelp
Run Forrest Run!!! To Bubba Gump Shrimp! Across the country or right here at the world famous Fisherman's Wharf Pier 39, they have fried shrimp, battered shrimp, ceviche'd shrimp, grilled shrimp, sauteed shrimp, and more! Kitch personified, right off the wharf with a view of the Pacific, it's fresh from the sea. Wish the fish had more flavor, the fries too. Fun family spot.

Sam S.

Yelp
this was rancid the food being served to us was unaceptable and grotesque. do not come here, food was raw hair was in food. forest gump would be dissapionted.

Yelp
Initially, the service was lacking, but Zack manager turned things around. His excellent service and ability to change our perception of the experience were undeniable. Zack is a floor manager and is on top of his game.

Rose P.

Yelp
Watered down drinks , the mixed drinks are horrible , the food was not great or even ok , our waiter was really sweet ! I used to love this place because they have the best view!! I was extremely disappointed !

Yelp
Went here on a whelm and decided I wanted to taste seafood well hubby liked his but the crab could have been better must have been pre frozen, wouldn't come out the shell but shrimp was amazing drinks were good

Yelp
This was my second visit in the past ten years. My wife, daughter, and I ate here on a Wednesday afternoon. The vibe inside was crowded yet chill, and we didn't have to wait. We were seated at a table directly overlooking the ocean with a great view of Alcatraz. (The windows were very clean!) Our waitress served us promptly and was friendly. I ordered the I'm Stuffed Shrimp. Delicious! My 6-yo daughter had the mini corn dogs, which she enjoyed, and wanted to keep the cardboard boat her meal came in; I asked the waitress if she could bring us a fresh boat to take home, and she brought two. Good food, great views, and friendly service all around!

Yelp
Excellent food. I had the crab bag, side of bowl of clam chowder, and a kids pizza was plenty for 3. The Bloody Mary had too much olive juice. The service was okay. We came on a week day with no wait and the place was empty. But table service was kinda slow. One server for too many tables. Great views.
google avatar

Franklin F.

Yelp
Mixed review here. Shrimp Ceviche - Odd, unexpected flavor. Not citrusy like it should be. Too much tomato flavor. Not a fan! Clam chowder - Wonderful! Yum! Forrest Seafood Feast- Feast? Where? I sure didn't get it on my plate! 4 overcooked shrimp, 1 piece of fish, 2 nasty hushpuppies Service was okay.
google avatar

Gigi B.

Yelp
The service was great and the food was good. The portions were pretty large: the large windows facing the water are great. We got to enjoy the sun while we had our dinner.

David T.

Yelp
Great ambience, food was okay doesn't stand out too much but great overall. Favorite part was the view of the bay

Kendrick S.

Yelp
The I ate here was inadequate. When I the food arrived it was cold and felt like it was being left out. The fish was completely inedible and the calamari was subpar and brittle. The "chips" were soggy and cold but the clam chowder wasn't too bad.

Yelp
Weekend trip to SF and a walk through the Pier led us at Bubba Gump's. Boy are we so happy that we found this gem of a restaurant. After another restaurant that we enjoyed very much whenever we came to the pier closed down, we were hoping we would find something that had a variety menu and wouldn't disappoint with quality of food. I guess Bubba Gump's restaurant is going to be our go to spot now. Btw don't be fooled by the beautiful color of this pink lemonade, it had a good amount of alcohol. Service: The crowd outside almost kept us from stopping by. However, wait time was approximately 20 minutes. Staff seem cheerful and happy to be there. Our server (I wish I remembered her name) was so awesome. Ambiance: The atmosphere of this restaurant is fast paced but it's still steady enough to make you feel like you can relax and enjoy your time and meal there. Also, you can't go wrong with the view at the Pier.

Yelp
Great place for fans of "Forrest Gump." The entire restaurant is themed after the movie. There are photos of the movie and quotes on the tables. The food is themed after the movie too. They play the movie on a loop on various screens in the restaurant. This place can have a long waiting list depending on the time of day. It's a good idea to make a reservation.

Yelp
This is to management, and specifically the waitress Adina--- Came here, we were a party of 3. Food and service was alright, and the bill came. You must think we're stupid out of state tourists to be pullin this type of joke. Bill of $88, we paid $90 in cash. Waited 10 minutes for our receipt and change, we were planning to leave the tip on the table before leaving---As Is CusTomaRy Had to flag down the waitress who ARGUED about giving back our change, regardless if it was only a dollar. I don't care if it's a dollar, why would you refuse to give back change? She said that if she were to give us our money back, then SHE would have to pay OUR gratuity out of HER own pocket to pay the bussers and the cooks or whatever she said. FIRST OF ALL---- In no way is that legal for an establishment to require their workers to have to pay for OTHER workers. I understand "splitting tips", but if a waitress is having to pay "tip" out of their own pocket to pay for the other employees, someone call the department of labor. SECOND OF ALL---- after she begrudgingly gave us the dollar back, had the nerve and tone in her voice to say "It's customary 18%" ... UM ok?? I can read? And I live an hour from here, yeah I'm pretty used to tipping 18-20% . But the question is, do YOU understand what "customary" means? Cause it sure doesn't mean "keep the change without asking"! LASTLY, we were going to leave a cash tip 15%, not 18% because besides the "hello" and "what can I get you"---- we weren't really serviced. HOWEVER, between that interaction, B.S explanation, the principle of not even bothering to give back change and the condescending way of acting like we don't know shxt about tipping culture, we left $4. Like THANK YOU for the service, but as someone who has worked in the service industry for years, I know how this works and this experience was downright wrong. BUT IF WE PAID BY CARD, would we still have gotten this BS interaction? Cause if we used a credit card instead, Adina wouldn't even KNOW what we tip until after the fact. If we paid by card and she saw we didn't put out 18%, would she go to the computer and charge us 18% AFTER leaving the restaurant and without our knowledge? I'm trying to figure out what way her whole argument even makes any sense. Adina, learn what customary means and don't automatically keep people's change. We wanted to leave you with $0 but I guess that moneys going to the bussers and cooks anyways, right. Management, if that's ACTUALLY your policy then re-evaluate. I understand auto-gratuity for large groups, but we were literally 3 people. Genuinely so annoyed. Give people back their change and let them tip you however. It's honestly annoying that you would even think we'd leave a $1 tip. Be effin for real. My advice to other guests: PAY BY CARD otherwise just don't even expect your change back. Whether it's $1 or $5 or $10. Apparently they'll just pocket it and not even give you a receipt after unless you hound them.

Yelp
Louisiana shrimp or the Cajun shrimp are fantastic. The sauces are all phenomenal. Service is great and unique. You call the server with a sign. Callbacks to the movie everywhere and a great view of the bay make for great atmosphere.

Yelp
If you're coming here you HAVE to get the Shrimp New Orleans, no excuses!!! The sauce is just *chef's kiss* perfection. Seriously, one of the best shrimp dishes I've ever had because of the sauce. And the accompanying bread and rice make it that much better, as you can really incorporate the sauce into the bread and rice. You will not want to share this dish because it's so good, so get your own!

Yelp
Finally got a chance to try this place out. I must say, I was not impressed with the high pricing and flavor of the food. I chose Shrimper's Heaven: Fried Shrimp, Coconut Shrimp, Tempura Shrimp, Fries, Cocktail Sauce, Cajun Marmalade, Tempura Sauce. The flavor was bland and the batter was just ok. Glad I got a side of clam chowder, which tasted better. The server(s) were very nice and hospitable. The view was great as well, we could see the cruise ships passing by.

Yelp
Love the view of the bay, Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge from the restaurant. Definitely paying for the ambiance and Forrest Gump experience. Food was ok but portion size smaller for paying almost 25$ a plate.

I chose the Crab And Shrimp Boil: it comes with ingredients listed below Snow Crab, Shrimp, Andouille Sausage, Corn on the Cob, Red Potatoes $37.99 Garlic (2170 cal.) Cajun (2170 cal.) My partner chose : Shrimper's Net Catch Peel 'n' Eat Shrimp steamed in Beer. $15.99 1/2 lb. Garlic (680 cal.) 1 lb. Garlic $28.99 My son chose: chicken tenders and fries that came with a cute mini cardboard boat as a plate .

Yelp
Shrimp is cold and needs seasoning. The meat isn't tender and hard. The fries are tasteless and undercooked. Not the best experience.

Yelp
Came in for lunch and was welcomed and seated away. Very nice hostess. Server was also very nice. Wonderful view from our seat. I had Forest's feast it was very good. Every thing tasted good l. Loved the shrimp, fish's no hush puppies. The coleslaw could have used a little more seasoning but nothing a little salt and pepper couldn't fix. My son had the grilled chicken sandwich and was happy with it. Server was very attentive. I will definitely come back

Yelp
So, Pier 39 is very touristy, but the menu at Bubba Gump and the quality of the food is consistent. Mark, our server, was jovial, helpful, and fast. Our daycation was fun and we really enjoyed our meal here.

Yelp
Pier 39 restaurant. The Forest Gump restaurant was cute and had much of the memorabilia from the movie. There were televisions playing portions of the movie also. We all got the clam chowder which was good (mine is better lol) in a bread bowl. It was creamy and there were quite a few clams. The tables by the windows were nice but a little to close to the next one making for a tight fit.

Yelp
Our food was so delicious! Actually it has been at every visit but when we went this past weekend it really stood out to us and was very satisfying. Great presentation, food temperature and flavor! Love Bubba Gumps! Service was and has always been great as well! Only took off one star because my key lime pie wasn't very good this time. I should have sent it back. First few bites were okay but the rest of the slice was just a thick wedge, not creamy and the crust wasn't the greatest.

Yelp
I have been here multiple times in the past. But the time in between visits seems to cloud my judgement. My daughter really wanted to eat here because she has a vague memory of last time we ate here and she recently discovered the movie forest gump. I didn't want to go but eventually succumbed to the overwhelming opposition from the family. And as I thought I remembered mediocrity lives at Bubba Gumps. It's basically Applebee's on the water. I had three kinds of shrimp all average. Everyone in my group was not excited about what they ordered. The clam chowder was decent, we all had a cup. And the service was good, especially how crowded it was. Ambiance was great as any restaurant that sits on San Francisco Bay would be. I give it a solid 2.5ish. And if it were up to me with all the other amazing restaurants in this are I will not be back.

Yelp
Gosh, I feel so bad for giving this place a 1 star because I do absolutely love the Anaheim location. I know that they're so busy because this is a huge tourist location, but they had way more than enough employees the day I went. Me and my friends totally didn't ask for much, but the waitress seemed incredibly annoyed with us and completely skipped our table on purpose many times. We just asked for more water and some sauce.... and we got completely shunned for it. Don't even get me started on the absolutely disgusting and abhorrent bathroom... I would avoid this place and just get a bowl of chowder at the chowder hut or somewhere else.

So much knowledge on the walls. Definitely a must try if you're a Taurus switch my kids are.
