Its nice and small, across the stree from the beach. Enough parking! Coffee shop right infront of the park, the only thing I didnt like was that bugs or something kept biting me,never saw one but def felt the bites around my body,it was annoying

Google
Small but clean, relaxing. Lifeguards are amazing, my son got caught in a rip current while boogie boarding and was pushed into some rocks & had to be rescued :-/ I did get a parking ticket for my large suv not fitting (was over the back red line maybe 2 inches but that’s the city who are ridiculous not this park)

I just discovered this place a few weeks ago and now it’s one of my favorites! The only thing is that if you want to go in the water, it’s all rocks. Not jagged rocks, but smooth rocks. The sand area is small in comparison to regular, miles long beaches. But it’s plenty big enough for those of us who just want to lay in the sun. And there’s a little cafe (?) right across the street, but they close at 2pm! And there’s parking is FANTASTIC.

Google
Awesome little park. Across the street from the beach Has a bathroom and Cafe in the park as well. There is also a footpath that takes you to PCH. There are bike racks to lock bikes to and a decent sized parking lot.

Google
It’s a unique park due to the location, facilities, and patrons. There’s a decent playground, full basketball court, public restroom, just across Buccaneer beach (a small beach) surrounded by expensive residence and I bet also vacation rental, the patrons of the park to me were quite interesting (in good and bad ways). There’s a cafe right at the park, how unique is that? Not everyday you get a park with a cafe.

This is a great park, we had our Wedding Reception Part 1 at the Park under the gazebo. Our wedding was on the beach and we had food and cake with those that attended the wedding. We then did a concert/reception after that at The Jumping Turtle Bar and Grill. The beach and park were perfect that day.

Google
Smaller park with nice little path, tiny bathroom stalls, great large open grassy area. If you walk to the back left side there is another path under the bridge and all of the way around the back side of the RV park! What a nice surprise!!! And you do have clear cross walk if you want to go over to see the beach after getting a bite to eat. Pretty cool beach side park that is very dog friendly!!! Some tables&benches. With a playground as well for the kids&basket ball as well.

Google
We love Buccaneer Park!! I've been visiting this park for over 20 years. Play at the park with the kids and then go to the beach. I absolutely love love love the little Cafe that's there too! Eat, swim, play! Great place for dogs to run and your kids too! Thisnis one of my favorite places!

Yelp
This is a cute little park, right by the beach in Oceanside. We were happy to find a small parking lot on site, which removed the stress of finding street parking. TBH, there's not a ton to do here. But, the ocean view is great, and there's stuff for the kids to climb. As far as parks go, this one does the job.

Yelp
The only thing I didn't like was the homeless people under the bridge. The playground is nice and close to the beach too. It was ok just not good with the homeless there either.

Yelp
It's a nice spot by the beach. A nice playground for the kids. Open grass area for kids to run around and play sports. There is the cafe right there as well as bathrooms. The parking lot makes parking easy as well.

Yelp
Great spot to sit and watch the waves and surfers! It's rocky so it's not very crowded which is nice. Right next to tower 11 of S. Pacific Ave. Up and down Pacific Ave is really good beaches in Oceanside. This spot is right next to Buccaneer Cafe. I haven't tried it yet, but I will soon!

Yelp
Great spot to prop up a charcoal grill and have a picnic. Parking is limited so get here early.

Yelp
Eh. I haven't had the best experiences here. I love coming here to socialize and BBQ with friends but the surroundings are pretty shady. And by shady I mean loud obnoxious people who yell, cuss, get wasted, and brawl with one another not taking into consideration that there are families trying to enjoy themselves. Homeless people hang out here too- they take naps under the trees smack dab in the middle of your events. Kinda odd. Especially with children running around, it's just not the place to be. There's a huge playground for kids to play on and a little walk up food shack and public bathrooms. The beach is right across the street for easy access. Don't bother parking here in the lot- it's small so the trick is to sit and wait until someone decides to leave.

Yelp
Buccaneer Park is one of my favorite parks in Oceanside! You can't beat the location either since the beach is right across the street. It's nice to hold any beach day events at a park since it's less of a mess because sometimes bbq-ing on the sand gets a little crazy. Parking is a little tough but if you're lucky, it all works out in your favor. There's also a nice updated playground for kids of any age! A couple downsides are there are no outlets-so if you plan on bringing crock pots or anything that needs to be plugged in, don't. Make sure you're all charged up beforehand. And, the bathrooms! They need to be maintained a little more to say the least... So, if you're planning on having a beach day/BBQ Buccaneer park is your best bet since you're just steps away from the water!!!

Yelp
Great place to spend the day. I went here on a Monday at the end of August and parking was not an issue. Weekends, holidays and summer break is when you will have a hard time finding a parking spot in the lot. There is a large grass area with trees that provide a lot of shade. There is a small basketball court. Play area for children. Picnic benches are under a large covering and you will have to come early to reserve this spot. There are about 4 tables here and they are all very close together. It's probably best to bring your own BBQ here. There is a bathroom and small cafe that is open in the mornings only. Beach is right across the street. There were a school of transients hanging out here on the day I was here with my daughter. Their bikes were everywhere. Some were sleeping under blankets while others were smoking and hydrating. Luckily they stayed away from the play area. I have had been to many BBQ and birthday parties here and I will definitely be back. Surf is good at the beach here too.

Yelp
"The Buc" continues to improve. Several homes around the park have been redone and they just trimmed all of the 50+ Palm trees again. Really makes it look tight and right. South OSide is really going through a renaissance and it is very cool to see!

Yelp
One of the kiddos favorite parks!! This park has a lot to offer. Plenty of parking but It will get full on weekends during the summer. There are bathrooms and showers as the beach is across the street , they are not the cleanest but will do. The cafe is open from early morning to 1pm offering coffee and small breakfast and brunch items. Now for the park . This park has two playground sets one for the younger kids and one for the older. My kids love the rock wall and all the cargo netting you can climb on. Separating the playground and the duck wash out is a big Grassy area that is normally full of people playing ball. The dick wash out is fun for the kids you can bring bread and feed the ducks. There is also a small paved nature trail you can walk up there are signs with information about the native plants and wildlife. The rain tracks also run along the back side of the park and about every 30-45 min the coaster or Amtrak rolls on by. Overall this is a great park because it offers more than just a playground and my kids love it!

Yelp
We recently stayed at the RV park on the other side of the tracks and walked along the waterway. The ducks were out and happily accepted the popcorn my daughter offered. The ground squirrels were a little obnoxious but they look very well fed. The park is awesome, complete with a ropes course for kids, a large and small play structure and a swing set. The giant field was nice but there were a couple people hanging around sleeping under the trees. Overall, one of the nicer parks in Oceanside. The walking distance to the beach is amazing and very convenient. My review does not account for parking as we didn't drive... but all things considered it was great and definitely on my list to return!

Yelp
I surf here every day and have a pretty good idea of wether or not you should go here. For surfing , it's pretty good with a nice left breaking to the north west and some rights breaking south. I wouldn't suggest surfing right out in front because there's a nice little sewage outlet that dumps right into the ocean! The park itself is a haven for homeless people. The basketball court area is usually pretty sketchy with some thug druggy guys hanging around. The bathrooms aren't taken care of and are absolutely disgusting, but that's pretty normal for beach bathrooms in California. For kids and birthday parties and such, there's a couple nice overhangs with big pick-a-nick tables that usually aren't claimed. The playground is awesome and huge. It's very clean and always has kids crawling all over it having loads of fun. There's a safer section for younger kids and a more wild section for the older ones. This area of the park is very safe and kid friendly but don't let your kid wander off because on the opposite end is a homeless highway that goes along the sewer. The sewer doesn't smell too bad and is actually sort of pretty with birds and plants but I would just suggest staying away from it. South half of park:10/10 and kid friendly North half of park: 2/10 very sketchy and stinky

Yelp
There was a meetup here for my run group didn't stay long and had to park outside the park because it closes. I really don't have much of an opinion other than its within running distance from the pier. Wouldn't go out of my way to go to .. Pretty much only return if someone wanted to meet me there which I don't know why they would

Yelp
It's a great playground location with ocean views and shaded picnic bench area. Downside : many homeless people and sketchy basketball area. Bathrooms are always dirty and without water or soap! Cafe nearby opens for only a few hours a day.

Yelp
Overall a pretty decent place for my kids. Works went you can't afford one of the big parks.

Yelp
Buccaneer Park along with other areas on the beach has improved since the city of Oceanside has worked to clean its image. Any coastal community will have its share of troublemakers. The kids playground is new well maintained. Oceanside police makes rounds to monitor the park especially during the tourist season. And contrary to what I was told, kids don't die in Buccaneer Park!
