Wow we absolutely LOVED this place! It has the most stunning scenery and the best 15km beach to walk on. The vibes are great, everyone is so friendly and we felt so safe We stayed in number 8, see pic below for the view!!! It's a comfortable clean self catering cottage. Highly recommend spending time here and will definitely return

Really loved staying here. It’s ‘rustic’ charm and the location made for a really relaxing few days. Everyone is so friendly. With a family feel to the restaurant and bar, it’s the ideal place to watch the wildlife (birds, monkeys, and dogs on ‘monkey watch’). Highly recommend.

Very nice and quiet campsite with simple but clean facilities. Perfectly nice staff and good quality food! The sea view from the bar is amazing! We will come back :)

Filthiest kitchen we have ever encountered. First, let us say the reception staff was very nice. We booked for the beach, and the Soup Kitchen visit - both were wonderful. Shocking. Mouse poop on the kitchen counters, the floor, and the bedroom window sills. Not a single dish nor piece of silverware was clean. The fridge had sticky dried on pools of liquid. All bad enough that we had to fully clean the whole kitchen before using. Overall, didn't look like one guest's mess, but layers of many years of not getting cleaned. Maybe this place was nice once, if so it's gone WAY downhill...As others have noted - we're not sure how this place gets such high ratings. Considering it cost 1500 rand/night ($90 USD), things should be on par with what we've found at every other stay for that price in ZA. No ceiling fan, no aircon. We were there for cooler summer days, but it was stiflingly uncomfortable - you can't open the windows due to the monkeys that are angling to steal any food. Reception dug up a fan for us, which helped as long as you didn't inspect how filthy it was. Thankfully the bath and bedsheets, although decrepit, were cleaner (although we did find mouse poop on the bed we didn't use). Was looking forward to a dip in the pool, but it was so murky you couldn't see the bottom. In general, a lot of deferred maintenance. We wanted to love it, but it was just sad... could be an amazing place...

Rooms and service were absolutely amazing. Wouldn’t recommend for a loud group though, the noise restrictions were a hinderance to the purpose of our weekend. There were no extra towels , blankets or iron in the rooms, we had to go to the reception to get those, which was a difficult because of the distance between our rooms and the reception.

A Truly Amazing Place Everything about our stay was wonderful — the breathtaking view, the kind and welcoming owners, the helpful staff, and the delicious food. We spent five unforgettable days here, and honestly, I could have stayed much longer. The view alone made every sunrise worth waking up for. It’s a fantastic spot for surfing, but even if you don’t surf, there’s no shortage of things to do. Just ask at the reception — they’ll happily help you find something you’ll enjoy. One highlight for me was horseback riding along the beach, which I can wholeheartedly recommend. I also visited a nearby soup kitchen, a truly moving and humbling experience. Of course, you can always just relax and enjoy the beautiful beach, too. I especially want to praise the food — absolutely amazing and constantly changing. Definitely go for the half board option; you’ll probably eat more than you should, but it’s just that good!

Buccaneers is a great place for locals an tourists, very inviting and gives a homey vibe wich makes it all the more reason to stay ,it's beautiful and well maintained area ,very inviting and welcoming place with lots to do and explore .

Great vibe, clean rooms, and great people running the show. All round a great experience. Can't wait to go back. The views of the water from the balconies blew my mind. Delicious food was just the cherry on top of the whole experience! Thanks guys. Well done.
