Buccanos

We had a great day at Buccanos last week. We arrived at about 10 and were able to get 2nd row loungers that still had a clear view of the water and also had nice thatched canopies. The snorkeling from the beach is good with a variety of fish, but it's not as good as destination coral reef snorkeling, so have reasonable expectations. The place is very clean with a calm and relaxed atmosphere and all the employees were friendly--it was exactly what we were looking for. The pool looked nice, but we didn't take advantage of it because we were enjoying the ocean and lounging. Our drinks were really good. The nachos and tacos my son and I ordered arrived fairly cold, but the others in our party said their food was quite good. The price is very reasonable, especially considering that the amount of admission is credited back to you for food and beverage purchases. Everyone in our party enjoyed the day and we will definitely return if we're on Cozumel again.

We finally made it to Buccanos at Night and it did not disappoint! The presentation was spot on and the flavors absolutely delicious. The wait staff was friendly and efficient. Safe to say we will be back when we visit Cozumel again next year! Be sure to make reservations and plan on being there during sunset.

We had such a great time at Buccanos! The drinks were great, the vibe was relaxed and fun, and it was the perfect place to just hang out by the water. The shore snorkeling was amazing too, lots to see right off the beach. However, it was pretty windy and the current was very strong. The shore snorkeling was better at skyreef. It wasn't too terribly crowded during a busy cruise day.

Very chic place, super White Lotus vibes. Suggest coming here in the evening for a romantic dinner. Also, arrive a little early to secure a table overlooking the ocean and reserve before hand. Food and drink selection was very sophisticated in terms of presentation; food was cooked and tasted beyond expectation. And yes, the price tier is much higher than your average restaurant. Worth it. Sadly, due to Americans tipping every time, the wait staff was far too pushy on tips with us. Obviously, we did not tip. Management could pay them more considering the amount of money they askfor food and drink. If anyone should be tipped, it should be the cooks... On a bitter note, while my partner and I were exiting on the ground floor, one of the waiters ran down the stairs and asked, ' Hey guys, did you leave a tip for me ? ' Quite sad our night had to end in such a way after enjoying a beautiful dinner over looking the ocean… Management, pay your waiters more.

Spent the day here on February 4th. Got there right at 10am via taxi and paid 400 pesos per person, which goes towards your food and drink there as a credit. Since we were early we got loungers front row by the ocean. We stayed for about 6.5 hours (the full day) and did so much snorkelling and relaxing by the beach. There were TONS of fish right off the shore and lots of variety, including barracudas. For lunch my partner and I shared the crispy chicken sandwich. It came with fries for $350 pesos. It was plenty of food for 2 people and very tasty. (Watch out for the seagulls!!) Over the course of the day my partner and I got 3 frozen cocktails ($200 peso each) and 1 beer (maybe $70 or 90 pesos). To be fair we are not big drinkers, so this was enough for us with our own bottled water we brought. Service was super friendly, but was sometimes hard to locate a staff member to place an order. Overall it was a bit over $1200 pesos with a tip for both of us, which we found was great value for 6.5 hours of relaxing under palm trees to the sound of waves, and snorkelling to my heart’s content. Will be back again for another day before my vacation is over!

Perfect little getaway spot on Cozumel! We got there right at opening and grabbed some chairs. Wait staff was very friendly and helpful. Very few people compared to other beachfront places. Also pretty good snorkeling for those interested.

One of the best restaurant on the Island and certainly the best beach club. The entrance is 400 pesos BUT you get the same amount of credit for eating and drinking. Its very fair. The snorkling is so amazing and the small beach is sandy.

It is 20 minutes away from the port. The beach is nice but considerably small. Food is okay. Mostly seafood options. It is nice place to spend the whole day.

A wonderful option for food, beach, snorkel. We default here for our day in Cozumel after coffee at Coz Coffee and before shopping at Chedraui and Soriana. We are at Buccano's on the north end. The fee is $20USD per person for use of all facilities. But that is a credit applied to any food or beverage purchases. We like the lunch here. Massage is $95USD per hour. Beach and pool on premises.

This is always a must stop when we visit Cozumel! Food is always outstanding. A little out of our way when we stay, but well worth the drive to that part of the island. Staff are nice. Reservations recommended.

Good food and great atmosphere, we didn't have a reservation but they were able to seat us, had the crispy shrimp skewers, calamari, lobster raviolis and tenderloin. All in all pretty good!

I've been in Cozumel for 3 weeks now, been to many places but this is my favorite spot hands down! They make the best jalapeño margarita, yummy food, great service and love the location. We even came to the beach club and rented a cabana, love the beautiful beach here, and where the cabanas are secluded from the main area and more private. I'd love to come back here one more time before I leave the island...

Food is good, beach is clean! The staff is friendly and attentive. I believe when we went in March 2024 it was $50 a person, however it goes towards your food. The staff tried to up charge us on a few items so just make sure to check your receipt. Pretty fun for snorkeling!

The best place to come and visit when in Cozumel. Awesome food in the day and awesome atmosphere at night. When in town take time to visit, eat, snorkel, swim and ASK for Luis at the restaurant. Best person to deal with.

Came here for dinner. The place itself is beautiful and the view is stunning. Truly a beautiful spot to have a meal. I ordered the coconut shrimp (4/5), crispy calamari (4/5) and the key lime pie dessert (4.5/5). The sauces were quite nice (although I wish they had a bit more kick). One of the highlights honestly was the starter bread - it was so delicious and buttery I kept going back for more. This place is certainly on the pricier side relative to other restaurants on the island but it's a good place for a nice group meal or date. The staff was very nice as well.

Had a not so great experience yesterday in Honduras and @buccanos has made up for it all!! Cab driver tried to tell me it was private and I was frustrated with all of my research being in vain!! But no... I called and the lady said they are available until It is at capacity so come on! You pay $20 pp to get in and then that goes towards food & drinks. Which are absolutely amazing! There is snorkeling gear for rent, a pool and plenty of lounge chairs to park it in paradise. The pineapple ginger Mojito was fantastic and so was the Local Euphoria, vodka based drink, margaritas were good too but the star was definitely the guacamole & pico Served with corn and plantain chips - JUsT WOW! The "Avacados from Mexico" song is all I could think of - that's why it's soooo good!! lol! Then we got a burger to share and it was yummy! We Also saw the fish and chips be served lots and it looked amazing too! Such good food y'all! What a refreshing day and a great place and experience! Definitely Worth the money, which was not bank breaking but reasonable - We will be back for sure !!!!!!! Thanks buccanos for a great day!!!

(Last visited 12/17/2021.) It's our last night in Cozumel and we wanna go out with a bang! So we did some Yelp'ing, found this place and freaking walked 35 minutes from Cozumel Center to get to it. Lol. We could've Uber'ed, but we needed the exercise. Now I'll tell you why Buccanos was so amazing AND worth the walk. Atmosphere/Appearance: So Buccanos is a beach club. You come here during the day to chill out by the crystal clear water, hang out in the pool, relax on the beach, dine and just get away. The restaurant is woven so cleverly into the club. It's an enormous place with so many places to chill, hang with friends, enjoy intimate time with a loved one or just escape from the busyness of life. There's an outdoor pool, beach access, fire pits, an upper deck to dine under the stars and just so much here! This place was so elegant, especially at night. So chic, fancy and it just made me feel good being here. Service: Our server was amazing as expected. We had everything that we needed and without wait! Food: So we started off with some Xcatic Martinis! I can't remember what was in it and as I check the online menu it's no longer there, but it was decently sweet, lil' spicy, fruity and tropical tasting. With our drinks came these complimentary FREAKING DELICIOUS cheesy Parmesan biscuits. OMG they were fluffy, soft, warm, gooey and practically perfect. They come in this cute lil' tray of 3 with the "B" initial on it. We asked for extra and it wasn't a big deal. Next up was the Buccanos Suchi Roll. This too is no longer on their online menu, but I know it involved salmon and a bit of spice. It was succulent, soft, tender, savory, a smidge spicy, but very well balanced. Lastly, I had the Chef's Risotto. It's a blend of squid, octopus, shrimp and mussels. It was deliciously creamy and temperature hot. The calamari and octopus throw the texture off for me. It also had a strange after taste, but very good. I'd get it with only shrimp next time. Value: If you've read everything I just typed, then you should know this place ain't gonna be cheap. Lol. It's a beach-club that's a total lounge at night. My martini was only $8.00, the sushi was $12.00 and my risotto was $23.00. Things were cheaper than I had predicted and I loved that. You can definitely come here to splurge. In conclusion, I NEED to come here again whenever I'm in Cozumel again. I loved everything about this place. I'd love to come here during the day and watch the place transform once the sun sets.

My husband made reservations for us at Buccanos for dinner on our last night in Cozumel. The place was beautiful. Downstairs, you'll find the beach club that operates during the day, and upstairs is the restaurant that is available only for dinner. Inside the restaurant, lounge music played in the background, but at a medium noise level - a perfect compromise for the young and old. Beautiful artwork by local artists decorated the whole place, and in the bathroom, positive, self love messages filled the walls. As we scanned the menus, we noticed the wine selection was small, but well thought out. Since we rarely see Mexican wine, we decided to go with the 2017 Amado IV, which turned out to be quite a tasty red blend. The cocktails also looked very tempting and were very reasonably priced. For our appetizer, my husband and I shared the crunchy calamari. The pieces were nice big cuts and were delicious. The two sauces that came with the dish also complemented the calamari nicely. For our entrees, we shared the seafood skewer and catch of the day, which was a mahi mahi. Both were delicious and the portions huge. I highly recommend the seafood skewer - the lobster, octopus and fish were all grilled to perfection. The dish also came with lots of spinach which I loved. Throughout dinner, the staff checked on us several times and refilled our wines and waters. The owner also stopped by to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. Even though we were stuffed from dinner, we shared the banana crème brulee with a side of banana ice cream for dessert. The crème brulee was delicious, but the ice cream tasted a little too artificial for me and did not taste like banana. Aside from the banana ice cream, everything was perfect. I totally see why Buccanos is the best restaurant in Cozumel. The food, the drinks, the ambiance. This was the best dinner we had in Cozumel. The beach club also looked like a blast. If we had more time in Cozumel, we would have loved to check it out.

We're back and decided to visit Buccano's hoping the service would be better. It's not. It's somehow gotten worse. I've been trying to flag down a waiter on the beach for the last half hour. We love the food, drinks and ambiance but the service is terrible. To the point where we're talking about leaving and going elsewhere. I doubt we'll be returning this trip. It's unfortunate because this was our favorite place but the lack of service ruins the entire experience.

Amazing! From service, location and food...all were perfect! I have celiac and they were able to accommodate most of the menu for gf. Sit outside and enjoy the ocean. Waiters are attentive but not pushy- perfect night!

The views are Buccanos are absolutely breathtaking. You won't be disappointed in the beach area. We brought floats and floated around in the ocean for a while, so relaxing! The pool area is nice, but if you go on Sunday there can be a good bit of children. The food is a little pricy, but not terrible. Everything I've tried has been delicious. I recommend the lobster nachos. I was a bit skeptical reading that they're served with plantain chips, but trust me, they are phenomenal! I'll say that the service here is not very good. The wait staff is not attentive at all. I had to hunt down my own menu while I was on the beach. Not the service you'd expect somewhere as nice as Buccanos.

Beautiful spot right on the white Sandy Beach and aqua waters. The food is delicious the best octopus, tacos and creative dishes on the island. Awesome cocktails too. People are super nice. Cannot recommend it highly enough.

Our server was fantastic! He was so sweet and attentive. The tacos were tasty. The water was beautiful.

My wife and I had such a wonderful experience at Buccanos at night that we decided to come back to enjoy the beach club! Just like the restaurant, this didn't disappoint! The club was very busy, which was not surprising because it was a beautiful day. I was impressed with how clean and well kept to the places, especially with the kind of crowd it pulls. We managed to get a poolside table, which was perfect for the day. They have a well maintained pool, and also a nice beach for those who prefer that. The food and drinks were equally as good as their nighttime restaurant, and I was particularly impressed with this mango frozen drink they have; it's delicious! My whole family had a bunch of different foods, and it all looked good. I had the chicken quesadillas which were wonderful. They also had a really great band play during the afternoon. It was an American rock and pop cover band, and they did a fabulous job! I was very impressed by the entertainment. Just like the restaurant, their staff was wonderful and professional. With the amount of people they had to serve, I thought they were quick and efficient. They certainly take a lot of pride at this establishment. Overall, the whole Buccanos experience is wonderful, and I certainly be back the next time I'm on the island.

Hands down one of the best beach club experiences we had during our stay. Pedro was a top notch server! He made sure we had every comfort and was super attentive. The food was some of the most sabroso we had during our time in Cozumel. My daughter was on the hunt for lobster and she said it was the best she's ever had and she's had Mastro's in Newport Beach. This place has great amenities too, palapas to use, dining tables a beautiful snorkeling location and a pool! We will be back!!

Absolutely gorgeous spot! Great place to spend the day... hang out into the evening ending with a special/Dell dinner.

The go to place for clean fun, great food/drinks and wonderful atmosphere. Snorkel equipment, chairs and umbrellas included in entrance fee. No sales people on the beach. The pool has a shallow area to rest and relax in. Bathrooms are spotless. Food is delicious!

I've dined here three times over my last two visits to Cozumel. Lovely environment, good but not excellent cuisine. Environment makes it worth the cost.

It was cele's birthday, so of course we had to have a formal night out. Buccanos was a home run! We sat on the second floor waterfront balcony at sunset, and the views could not be beat. The drinks were muy delicioso, and my friends raved about their sea food selections. My steak was over cooked, which I won't hold against them as a coastal seafood restaurant. The goat cheese crème brûlée was an adventure, and not the good kind. Overall, we had a blast and would definitely return. Thank you!!

Really fun - we got there midday and got probably the two last chairs available. Cocktails were good - we had even more fun when we saw someone else order tequila shots and got some for ourselves. Lobster nachos were delicious. It started raining and thankfully we had an umbrella that we brought (to protect the lobster nachos!). Our server knew another couple was leaving and told us to get their umbrella. Fantastic service the whole day. Swimming in the ocean was better for more like cooling off than snorkeling or anything. The pool was nice, a few kids swimming. Didn't try it out but with the rain we didn't need to cool off too many times. Really fun day but I'd suggest getting there earlier to take advantage. I will say Nachi Cocum was a better beach, though.

Awesome place to spend your day at the beach, especially if you aren't already staying at a beach resort. There's a minimal food & beverage fee but well worth it. The location, service, food & drink are all top notch! Amenities include umbrellas, lounge chairs, very clean restrooms, sun and shade spots near the beach and the pool. Located a short drive or taxi ride from downtown Cozumel north of the airport on the island's west coast.

Great place to enjoy beach all afternoon! Pay $20 pp up front & receive that amount toward food & beverage. Palapa, beach chairs, pool & beach to access water. We planned to snorkel all day but realized the current is very strong. Lots of fish in close to shore though. The food is really delicious. I had coconut prawns & my hubby had lobster nachos w/ plantains. This beach club is very nice, more low key compared to Paradise beach in a good way. Highly recommend!

Ambiance is fantastic but best to make a early reservation for sunset dinner. Service is wonderful. Very attentive, and if English is your first language no problem. The food is fantastic. I really enjoy their appetizers. There are a couple items on the menu I personally wouldn't recommend. But for the most part, it is all delicious. It's a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. Especially if the sunset is in full bloom. Outside seating is nice.

Hidden treasure of a beach club. You purchase a day pass which then goes towards your order of food and drinks. Slow service but the food was EXCELLENT- we had the buffalo cauliflower, tuna tostada, and tuna in aguachile. The tuna in aguachile has been my favorite thing I've eaten in Mexico so far- phenomenal dish. No seaweed on their beach and the beachside drink service was timely and delicious. I didn't want to leave Buccanos!

Best restaurant on the island. Completely unexpected how good it was. The rooftop setting is great and the food is even better.

absolutely amazing as always. we come to Coz once a year for the past 5 yrs and our family has been going for much longer than that. the food and atmosphere and customer service is next-level. but, it's getting quite QUITE crowded - so if you want a good seat by the water/with an umbrella - GET THERE AND WAIT IN UR CAR before they open. we went during the day and love the lobster mac, lobster burger, ceviche, nachos, shrimp pizza, the Mystic frozen coconut drink is delicious.

Absolutely stunning! Wonderful service and delicious food! Perfect sunset spot too. When In Cozumel you simply must make a reservation and splurge. I had lobster with ravioli and it was delicious! I actually recommend making a day of it, come during the day for the beach club. The best beach and beach Lounge service.

We went here in a group for lunch and the service was great! It can get a bit busy when the cruise ship groups come, but it wasn't bad while here for lunch. I had coconut shrimp multiple times on the island, but I have to say these had the best coconut flavor. The fish and chips where also delicious!

Beautiful place to visit in Cozumel.. clean and great view of the ocean. The staff are very friendly.. The food was great and drinks were great.. price is a little high. But with the blue ocean scenery I think it's well worth it.. Recommend to visit when you are in Cozumel.. not too crowded...

Great food slow service. Started at the beach club fof apps. Black shrimp tempura and breaded cheese squares - excellent. Service very slow. 20 minutes waiting and had ask for service. Asked for water 4 times finally had to get it from the bar. No checkback.

Great food, views and service. Enjoyed the cauliflower appetizer and lobster Ravioli. Highly recommended.

The food was great and the owner/ curator of the menu goes table to table to guide - you can tell she really wants to ensure each person has a wonderful experience. We were drawn there for the stunning views of the sunset and they did not disappoint. The food and drinks were an added bonus and everything was delicious.

First and last place to hang in Cozumel if you're not at a full service resort. Get there early for prime beech chairs with thatched umbrellas. Fish tacos are frickin awesome and the spicy margaritas do not disappoint. Service is fast and friendly... servers were there before I realized my beer was almost empty. The property is expansive and offers privacy if you want it, hammocks and great access to the water off the beach or pier. Mediocre snorkeling, but nice to look around. The pool is a great alternative to the salt water if that's your thing and the bathrooms are clean, and well appointed. Dining area offers a nice array if you'd rather eat at a table...I prefer my plate on my beach chair and that isn't a problem here. They'll bring your food wherever you decide to plant yourself. Came straight here my first day and spent my last few hours before heading to the ferry. Fave spot on this side of the island.

Probably the best meal and experience on the island. Loved Guido's and Pancho's but this is a step above. Amazing appetizers (shrimp, Oaxaca fried cheese (be sure to use the sauce), and sexy sushi roll. In our group Filet, special of Queen Snapper, burgers, lobster and the lobster ravioli (extra good) were all hits. Stayed just up the road for a week but didn't get here until the end and wish we had discovered it earlier.

Awesome food, fantastic beach club and a great value. We've been here for dinner and loved it but a day spent at the club is even better.

OMG... That was our thought We have been to Cozumel many times for a number of years Been pretty much everywhere worth to be seen This year, my wife booked and AB&B and an experience with Mario Everything was awesome on the experience ride north-south-east-west on the island, there are very nice spots like Playa San Martin, Punta Sur & Chen Rio. At the end of the tour, we ended on this whimsical place -hidden gem, if you will- Buccanos It is a super nice atmosphere - at least for a couple on it's late 40s but we also saw younger couples, single folks and even some kids... all having a great time! We fell in love with this place to spend the day to eat, drink, swim/snorkel in these small blue beaches with lots of fish curious at you. Also had a very nice Tequila tasting and then things started to get blurry - in a nice way The staff is REALLY NICE AND ATTENTIVE We came back a few times and will do again ... cannot wait Enjoy!

We met a friend here. Paid a cover - friendly enough. Was here a while. Ordered over 100 in food and drink. Wanted to snorkel for 15 mins."Johnny" said ok. Wait here. 10 bucks. I'm like "fine". Different guy cones up 5-8 mins later. You the lady fir snorkel? Takes my 10. I'm like it's supposed to be 2. He says ok but still grabs money and runs off. I run after yelling after. He ignores. We walk hall to desk to complain. They say we made mistake. We wait. Then guy shies up 5-10 mins later. Now he won't give us snorkel. Gives us crap. Says we got him in trouble w boss He wants double now to rent snorkel. The boss not even any nicer. I tried tone plenty n misunderstanding. Nothing. People super rude. Place totally nit good enough for this. Want a hung. Save money. Save mental health: Go to Hawaii!!.

So good. We went for drinks and deserts. Probably the best cocktail menu on the island. We had the brownie and key lime pie parfait which was off the charts!

Wonderful beach! Strong mixed drinks, cozy beach chairs and excellent snorkeling spot! Would recommend to anyone looking for a beach day location You have to pay an entry fee ( can't remember.. maybe $15 pp) but if you order from the menus the fee is reimbursed so for our group of 10 we were there for 8hrs and spent $150 on food and drinks! Mr sanchos would have been $450 for our group. Consider this not too crowded location if your not interested in all inclusive pricing.

Beautiful romantic restaurant, if you have a chance you must go to this fantastic place. If we had more time we would come back and spend the day swimming and on the beach. They do a great job and really keep the restaurant sparkling clean.

This was a fantastic place to go to if you make it to Cozumel! It's a short ride from the port and they have great facilities. They have a pool, free snorkeling, beautiful beach area, and a nice restaurant with yummy food and margaritas! Cost $30 cash for taxi total roundtrip per person. This place is fantastic!!! Excellent food! Amazing snorkeling Crystal clear waters, tons of fish and you can go as much as you want! The current slowly moves about 200 yards towards the beach. It's amazing. So much to do! Lounge in comfy chairs on the beach, get a massage in the woods, free tequila taste testing! They even have rock wall climbing. Jet sky rentals, speed boating and scuba diving. The food Is great and there are staff everywhere to help you or take your order. Wanna feel what paradise feels like, go to here and check it out! We love it!

This place is serene and amazing. I'd recommend coming here for hours! We ate three meals here which were all amazing. You can snorkel and put your feet in sand here, best of both worlds. No all inclusive but the prices are legit. We are coming back and staying at their hotel next time.

This is my 4th or 5th visit here. It's a good spot to do several things at Buccanos. They have a small tequila tour and some of the smoothest tequila that you can buy in Mexico. You can get tourist type pictures in sombreros. They have a full service bar and restaurant. The food is good. I usually get the shrimp tacos and the chicken nachos. Try the Kama Sutra Tequila!

This was one of my favorite dinners on our trip. Right away, the staff blew me away. The hostess was friendly and sweet leading us up, our waiter right away checked in, and the manager swung by a couple times to ensure our time was going smoothly. We went at night and the air was crisp and wonderful to sit in. Then, we got the table bread. Oh boy, we got the table bread which is baked in these little individual cups and just warm with melted butter and herbs. We could have just gone home right then I was so happy. It only got better. Our food was amazing. Everything. Every bite. Nothing left me disappointed. A must visit place for food.

The food and drinks here. One word to describe, wow! The margarita are over the top good as well as great food and service!
