Swung by Buckel for some Burnell's food truck and Buckel wine. Sat on the fabulous shaded patio seating, enjoying the sun and the breeze. A very relaxing and friendly atmosphere for happy hour!

Fun winery in Gunnison serving tasty, high-quality wines. Ordered a bottle of rose and drank it out front while enjoying the dog-friendly outdoor seating patio. There was an event when we were there and the winery was quite busy. Staff was friendly, vibes were good.

My husband and I stopped by for a wine tasting here on our little staycation. It was fantastic! The wines were original and interesting, the charcuterie board was top-notch (you have to pre-order it, highly recommend!), and the conversation with Joe and Kevin was lovely. They make the wines grape-to-bottle at this location. Would definitely recommend this quirky winery if you are in the area!

For our company retreat, we spent the afternoon at Buckel Family Wine for a wine tasting! Shamai walked us through our wines and the history of this gorgeous winery. We loved all of the wines accompanied by a super yummy cheese board. Our team's personal favorite was the Glug Glug white wine, which we brought camping and it's truly the perfect summer beverage! Would highly recommend trying their wines or stopping in for a tasting!

Our group had an EXCELLENT time at Buckel winery. The wine was delicious, and the service was excellent. We highly recommend stopping by and trying their selection of wines. The wines featured interesting selections of fruity wines- perfect for casual drinking- and meaty red wines- perfect for dinner pairings. The robust flavors feature interesting flavors, like bell pepper, that create a unique tasting experience. At the time we stopped by, art by John fellows was displayed for purchase. The posted art featured various maps of mountain locations with high contrast lithograph overlays of excellent quality. Again, we highly recommend checking his art out- johnfellowsart.com. Cheers!

We were gifted a bottle of 2021 Cinsault American! We were camping at Cement Creek just outside Crested Butte so this was a nice treat! We just poured it up at home in Arkansas and am glad to have met the man who stopped by! I wish you well in your future endeavours and much love from all of us.

This winery, tucked just off highway 135 on the way to Crested Butte, is an unexpected treat. Joe and his wife Shamai are very friendly and happy to share the pride they have in their wines with you. They make several varietals that you will have seen before, and some that it will be your first impression,. the Cinsault is my favorite. Stop by and enjoy.

Yelp
Joe Buckel understands wine explicitly, and brings his whole person centered presents into making fantastic wine. Not only that but he is a good person. Try his sparkler. It is light effervescent, and has a beautiful fruit that underlines the wine. It is made from wrestling, Viognier, a little bit of Chardonnay. Rose Syrah less than 10% Vanier, cold pressing, light hues. The fruit in the pepper beautifully confront the taster with nuances of the Syrah. This actually also goes well with chicken tikka masala, but could be served with beef. Quite versatile. Any type of harshness that would be in red fruit is not at all available. Sauvignon Blanc Quite aromatic florals of Honey Dew Melons, peach, apricot you and a tiny bit of grapefruit... citruses on the palate coming through the acids and through aerating the wine within your palate, you begin to pick up melons. A very approachable, Sauvignon Blanc, that you can drink today pleasurably or put it down, and those acids and fruits are going to integrate beautifully. The cab franc 2020 is over the top excellent in the nose and I haven't even tasted it yet. It picks up beautiful, black fruit and a little bit of alcohol, because the wine is young. On the palate comes across a bigger wine has a touch of black fruit, cigar, and you could put down in your wine cellar for quite a few years. 2021 Mendocino and essentially it was Zinfandel. A beautiful nose of typical Zinfandel dried fruit on the nose, multiple berry species and spices of black peopon the palate. Red blend of beautiful nose of candied acidity and black fruit and pepper. this is another one that can be put down. Make sure you go there if you were ever in Gunnison.
