We had a great time staying at the Buckeye Tree Lodge! The location was excellent for getting an early start at the parks. Ending the day with a post hike swim was an amazing way to beat the heat. The lodge also had really fun things like dvds, books, handmade stuffed animals, and east accesses to dining options. We attended the free stargazing offered on Sunday night and the guide, Scott, was delightful. Humorous and informative it was a great addition to our trip. Overall really happy with our experience here.

We had a lovely stay at the Buckeye Tree Lodge and Cabins while visiting Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. The rooms by the river are lovely and we enjoyed sitting out in the deck in the evenings. The front desk was super helpful offering dining suggestions and info about the parks. We even had an issue trying to find a cooler to transport our picnic lunch into the park each day and they helped us out tremendously. We would definitely stay there again if we ever get the chance to go back!

We stayed in the Columbine cabin. There is a nice deck with chairs and table. AC unit works very well. Lots of nice touches: real coffee beans, grinder, half/half, full length mirror behind the door. Shower is a nice size with beautiful rock mosaic floor; the shower head could use an update but worked fine. Full size refrigerator. The bed was comfortable. The pillows weren't a favorite but those are subjective. Towels were quality. Delightful lady checked us in. You can sit beside the beautiful creek behind the motel. The restaurant next door's food was delicious so this is an awesome place to stay before and after visiting Sequoia NP. Oh, it was VERY clean. Soap and shampoo in the shower was quality. Lovely place to stay!

We had a 5 night stay and it was great! The staff were incredibly helpful and went above and beyond to take care of us. Our room with a river view was great! Loved the fresh coffee beans and grinder in the room for our morning coffee. Highly recommend Buckeye Lodge as it’s so peaceful and so close to Sequoia National Park! 👍🏻

This was a great place to stay for our visit to Sequoia National Park. We got in late and enjoyed a meal next door at The Gateway Restaurant. It was a great stay with a beautiful view when we woke up. Such a lovely stay, I highly recommend it!

Google
Do not book this. You will lose sleep. Missed our cave tour because we were tossing and turning all night from the horrible bed and pillows. I do not recommend this place. Its complete garbage. The water was very low pressure and very little coming out of the shower. Do not book this. Its horrible and expensive.

We just stayed for a family vacation with teenagers to see Sequoia National Park. The stay was simply excellent. Super clean, fantastic location, and the service was honestly something you just don't find anymore. From the basket of snacks in our cabin, to the hummingbirds outside by the front porch, the lodge was perfect. Highly recommend staying here.

We were in need for break and ended up booking buckeye on short notice. We had amazing experience. They provide enough coffee for you + rooms were comfortable and the view was unbeatable. We had coffee each morning by the river and it was serene and so peaceful. I would go back there again and again.

Yelp
All I want is a little peace and relaxation...Disconnect from social media and the world..."if you want that, here it is, come and get it, but ya better hurry cause it may not last..." A wonderful place to reset, refocus, & realign! The staff here were so welcoming, friendly and made my stay perfect. My private room faced one of the surrounding "Three Rivers," which was astounding to see every morning. The fresh air, trees, and small town vibes were calling to me. This lodge is located just outside of the Sequoia National Forest Park. You can walk to the entrance but it takes an hour to drive up to the main trails and sequoia trees. *Cellular service is spotty here. However, they offer free wifi while staying here. *No Cleaning service here so don't forget to make your bed and clean up after yourself:) if you are OCD like me, lol! *Fresh towels, TP, trash bags, ice, DVDs, games, books are available in the front office. *Each room has "Fresh Organic Coffee Beans, an electric coffee grinder, microwave, small fridge, TV with satellite and a DVD player. *Free parking *Private cabins located across from the lodge with small kitchens and bathrooms.

Yelp
Great location. No elevator so we just repacked and only had to take carryon up. Small fridge can get ice from office. Closest motel to the park and right next to surprisingly good restaurant which served all 3 meals. Simple and big rustic but great location and staff. Free use of dvds and board games was a fun touch. Loved the sound of the rushing water over the rocks.

Yelp
Great Find!! Sweet laid back place. The sound of the rushing river is sooooo relaxing. We stayed in #8 right on the river. Small room with 2 comfy beds, tiny kitchen area, with great local coffee beans and mini fridge. Perfect for us and our 2 kids. Would've loved to stay 2 nights if there was availability. We received the wifi code upon arrival, but I didn't even want to turn it on because it was such a relaxing place to just chillax , unplug and have fun exploring with the kids, who absolutely Loved the rope swing and wading around in the little pools of water on the rivers edge. You do need to be extra careful as the current can be very strong, but there are small shallow areas in front of the cabins to cool off and escape the heat of the summer. The pool was perfect- so warm after the cool river water. We met Christian and Lace in the office- both so sweet and took care of everything. For example- Something had come loose in our toilet so it wouldn't flush properly when we 1st got there, but I called the office and Christian came up immediately and fixed it in under 3 min. Lace saw I was icing my hand - from prior injury - and offered to re-freeze my ice-pack in the office freezer for me while we went down into town. So sweet :) It's less than a mile up the road to enter the Sequoia Ntl Park. They have a QR code inside the Hotel Office so you can easily buy your tickets when you get there. Oh and you can rent movies and games for free. The restaurant next door is also on the river and is Amazing! We had dinner there and next time we'll go back for breakfast as well- really convenient with meals even a foodie would enjoy. Yep! We'll be back :) Thank you for a wonderful little getaway!

Yelp
We unfortunately did not get to stay at Buckeye Tree Lodge and Cabins. We were really looking forward to our stay, however due to the tropical storm expected to hit our area we decided to cancel last minute to be safe. This hotel was not understanding at all. They told us we would have had to cancel 7 days in advance (which doesn't help our case due to finding out about the tropical storm the night before we were supposed to leave). We did ask about trying to move our reservation to a different night and they told us we would have to pay in full again. That left us with the option of room re-rental where we would get money back if someone stayed in that room. We opted for the room re rental and got 280 back of our 650 dollar reservation (not even half of it) and they still won't give us a full refund even though there has been a state of emergency declared in California, some preemptive road closures, and flood warnings within the national park. Even though it isn't going to probably hit that area hard how are supposed to feel like we could get home safely if the storm worsened. They did call back and offer us a full credit to book another weekend however the friend I am going with lives out of state and is leaving after this week. Shame on this business for taking people's money when they didn't even stay at their hotel due to an impending natural disaster.

Yelp
We arrived this afternoon and are sitting on our patio watching the river. Room is small but spotless. Coffee beans and grinder provided. Dog friendly. WiFi. We love it already. Friendly staff. Helped shlep out stuff.

Yelp
Stayed 2 nights while visiting the parks. It's a nicely done independent place as close to the park as you could be and with a great restaurant next door. Beds were in great shape and room had space to walk around. Bathroom was tiny but not a problem for us. Free small bags of ice at the office and helpful folks running the place! Internet was plenty fast and stable which puts them worlds ahead of any other hotels we've stayed at during this tour of the regions national parks. Would not stay anywhere else if I were coming back to the parks located here.

Kyle Elizabeth W.

Yelp
Dreadful, dilapidated, posted photos are misleading. IMO this place is a tear down old motel on a prime piece of real estate. The location is wonderful. Closest spot to the park, river view, hoot owls at night. Tiny dump decorated by garage sale and $200.00 a night. How big are you? I'm tall and slender. I placed my small Costco backpack in front of the 20" wide bathroom door. Open the door, squeeze in around tiny door and try to get to toilet tucked in the corner. If you're a BIG person?? I can't imagine you'd fit. The Comfort Inn is a far better choice.

Yelp
This is the closest you can stay if you are going to visit Sequoia National Park. They have cabins and rooms with various party sizes and have views to the Kaweah River. Cabins have a kitchen and the rooms have a microwave and refrigerator. Since I booked very last minute I got room 10, two queen beds good for four people. The room and parking is in front of highway 198. When I booked the room, there was a hold and a day prior to my arrival I received a call from them and they charged my credit card. Due to Covid, they have contactless check-in. The room keys were outside the office and my name was on there with an envelope. While I understand there is Covid, this could be unsafe as well as anyone could take a key. They also do not provide housekeeping during your stay. Now, room 10. As I mentioned it is two queen beds with comfortable bedding. There is a heating/air conditioning unit, perfect for anytime of the year you visit. There are extra blankets in the closet if needed. It was so cute, they provided a small snack basket with fruit, some juices, and sweets for Valentine's Day. The room has some whole coffee beans (something you don't see in hotels) and tea. Anything to get you through the morning. Overall, I enjoyed my stay here and would highly recommend staying here.

Yelp
Our family has stayed 5-6 times over the years. This place is BREATHTAKING AND AMAZING !!!!! Lets start with the outstanding staff. Rose, Nikki, and Lace who run the front desk are the most friendly, helpful, and welcoming, gals anybody could ever ask for. Just communicating with them and their personalized service and demeanor makes you want to stay there! The place itself is beyond beautiful. The location could not be better. Right at the park gates to Sequoia National Park/Forest. Right beside a breathtaking river. So lush and green. Wildlife fabulous. The on-site restaurant, overlooking the river, has such fabulous ambiance and Excellent food. We normally stay in the cabins (across the street). They are roomy, comfortable, and well decorated. But the rooms themselves also have the advantage of being riverside with great seating areas, grass areas, picnic tables, even a fun fun tree swing. This is a place I LONG for when we are away and one we will continue to return to as long as I live. As long as they don't lose Rose, Nikki, and Lace or change the casual and relaxing vibe. My only only wish is that they would PLEASE get a jacuzzi!!!! We would be up there at least 2-3 more times each year if they did. Winters, fall, and sometimes spring, get cold. It has kept us away for that reason. If they only had a relaxing, warm, jacuzzi, we would be there without a doubt 2-3x each and every year. Until then, we will have to settle for summer and maybe early fall. So very greatful to have this incredible spot. It is an ABSOLUTE must for families, couples, and Nature lovers of all kinds.

Yelp
The place is very nice and peaceful!! You can hear the river 24/7. Just dont forget to bring deep woods off spray cause of course there's a lot of insects hehehe but thats the thrill and adventure right?? All in all the rooms are clean. The bathroom is clean. And the kitchen?!?! Oh my! My! My! Clean! They even have dish washing liquid, sponge, pans, utensils, plates, coffee grinder, coffee maker, fridge, microwave, electric fan, walk in closet.. what else... hair dryer!! They have dvds and books to borrow too!! Too bad Sequoia park was closed when we visited cause of the snow storm. So we stayed in the cabin for 3 days and 2 nights and it was worth it!!! Very homey!! We are usually very picky when it comes to staycations but this one's very cozy and even at night, you wont get scared. DONT FORGET TO LOOK AT THE PICS YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED :)

Yelp
Very very clean! Nice area. Restaurants around were really good. Great service. Great trip to the sequoia.

Yelp
What a cute place with a great location! Just by the park and next to a river (which I cooled off in after the parks) and pools. Nice ppl, great COVID safety, staff consistently wear masks. My SO and I have been stuck at home not only because of COVID but also because we are caring for my Dad who is a 90 year old cancer patient going through immunotherapy. Of course just as we were leaving, we heard about the booster shot for him. So while trying to relax I was calling his doctor, touching bases with my sister in another county to see if they could take him (the process was different there), so I thought I'll print the self attestation and take him right when I picked him up on my way back. I thought, let me see if I can print it here at the Buckeye...front desk was soooo accommodating, friendly and printed it and brought it to my room. This helped me so much!! This endeared me to this place even more!! The room was spacious, nice cork floor. Wonderful air conditioning, a place to eat. Fridge, microwave, and you guys: coffee pot, coffee beans and a grinder! It is eco friendly and in this drought I love that. The only thing I would say is if you are fairly fluffy (we are trying to work on it) ask for the pool towels as they are larger. (Super nice they provide them because it was helpful fir the pool too!) And be aware there are only stairs if you can't do stairs for whatever reason stick to the first floor.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed here at the beginning of October and had an amazing time! We visited sequoia but honestly we enjoyed our stay at buckeye lodge more than sequoia. Amazingly relaxing, beautiful view, clean room, coffee machine in room, dvds and games available. You can even hear the river from the room its beautiful. Seconds away from sequoia national park entrance. We highly recommend going during October, the weather was perfect.

Yelp
Stayed in "Aspen" last weekend. It is such a cozy lil place. Love the fresh coffee bean grinder. Great location, with a restaurant across the street although it was super overpriced. I will definitely stay here again.

Vida Marie L.

Yelp
The room we had was room #9, it has a small kitchen, with all the basic things you need for cooking, the room was very cool, despite the extreme hot weather on the area , the river was the main reason we choose this lodge you could definitely enjoy sitting outside hearing the river water and the view was , Fyi the room will be available at exact time, we arrived between 1:30-2:00 and room was not yet available, thats alright since you can sit and enjoy the river.!

Yelp
I just love this little lodge. We stayed here for a few nights and you cannot beat the location. It's the last establishment before entering the park. We stayed in room 9 and for us, it was perfect. It has a little cooktop and small fridge/freezer which was great. We have two kids and wanted to have some amenities like that to make breakfasts and lunches for the park. It's also right next to the pool which was perfect after a hot day on the trails in Sequoia. The service here was also amazing. The lodge is old (and wonderful) and our shower had a little issue. The employees were right on it, so friendly and apologetic and fixed it right away. Everyone was so nice that we encountered. But I have to say, one thing I also loved is it felt like there was barely anywhere there even though it was at full capacity. It's just quaint, remote and lovely. Last thing I'll rave about - it's on the river. The kids were down at the river every night and morning. Casting a line, getting in the water, climbing over the rocks. I would absolutely recommend this place, and especially room 9, if you're going to Sequoia and have littles.
google avatar

Ray A.

Yelp
We are a frequent visitor to the lodge. We were at the lodge last weekend. We are going back again in March. The owners of the lodge are very hardworking wonderful people. It is important to them that the guests have a great experience and it shows. I cannot say enough about the staff. Aaron, Rose, and the rest could not be more helpful. There is so much to do at The Lodge and Three Rivers. And if you chose you can do nothing. That is the beauty of the place. For me, I like to sit outside my room in the back. I may have a drink or two, listen to music, visit with friends, and enjoy the scenery. I cannot get enough of it.
google avatar

Yelp
The location could hardly be better, situated a minute from the entrance to Sequoia National Park. It's tucked right on the Kaweah River, which I could almost hear through the closed windows of my room that looks out at it. But I have to protest. I received a call from someone on their staff a few days before I arrived, which I considered thoughtful. But when I quizzed this person about the park and asked for recommendations, she pleaded ignorance. I found this perplexing since the Buckeye website promotes the park. Next, the housekeeping staff failed to attend to my room after my first night (I stayed only two night, and checked out early the final day). I was gone from 9 am until almost 4 pm, so I figured there would be enough time to tidy up, replace coffee supplies, make the bed. Nope. Nor was there a "welcome" basket of goodies, which I've seen mentioned in other reviews. So apparently someone was asleep at the wheel. This oversight was just enough to annoy me, but not ruin my visit. Buckeye has so much going for it, I hesitate to not recommend it. The nearby Gateway restaurant has a tasty and varied menu, and you can sit inside or outside with a view of the river. But Buckeye is in the service business. They may not have dropped the ball, but they certainly bumbled it.

Yelp
A wonderful oasis at the door of Sequoia National Park. Love their commitment to sustainability... a 1% for the planet location. The fruit, muffin and sparkling juice basket was delightful. The saltwater pool was equally delightful. The river view with freshly ground coffe in the morning, listening to the birds chirp, was relaxing. The grandsons loved the rope swing. Front office very cheerful and even offered to mail back the water bottle left behind,
google avatar

Yelp
I can't say enough about this place. We stayed just one night as our destination was Sequoia National Park. The Buckeye Tree Lodge is old and rustic yet very well maintained. The grounds are nicely landscaped with a picnic table, and tables and chairs for relaxing while enjoying the beautiful Kaweah river and amazing scenery in the backyard area. It was just very warm and welcoming. When we checked in, the nice lady at the front desk gave us a little basket with fruit, muffins and Kerns fruit juice. Who does that? We loved it! Upon entering our room we found it to be very clean and cozy. The AC worked awesome as it was about 105°. They also provided a canister with coffee beans and a grinder so we enjoyed fresh delicious coffee in the morning. Again, who does that? I definitely plan on staying there again the next time I visit Three Rivers. I highly recommend this place to everyone.

Yelp
This is a great place at a great location. You literally cannot be closer to the entrance to Sequoia National Park. First, the positives. We stayed in one of the multi-bedroom cabins (across the street from the regular rooms and office. It was very roomy. It had a great porch where you could see the mountainside and the lodge's pool across the street, while listening to and watching birds. The folks in the office responded nicely and promptly to all our requests. Virtually all the appliances and bathroom fixtures seemed to be new. The mattresses were in bug-proof mattress cases, adding to cleanliness and eliminating the problem we had with bed bugs the last time we visited a national park. GREAT location! Free use of a hard-wired phone for local and long-distance calls; great, since there is no Verizon cell phone service in this location. The shower had good volume and steady temperature control. The bedrooms had nightstands with a handy clock with built-in outlets for charging all our electronics. Now, for the not-so-greats. There were a very limited number of dishes and bowls for preparing and serving food. One of the couches in the living room was so old and saggy it wouldn't be offered for sale at Goodwill. The tub/shower floor was very slippery; IMHO, it should have non-skid adhesive strips or one of those rubbermaid mats. We were a bit insulted that there was sign over the sink stating that if we left any dirty dishes, we would be charged a $20 cleaning fee. REALLY? No other hotel suites do this and for the price we paid for the cabin this seemed really kind of chickendrop. The really significant drawback was the smell in the bathroom. It's clear why they keep the door to the bathroom closed, especially since it's right off the kitchen. We would have given this four stars, but the $20 clean-your-own-dishes charge and the smelly bathroom took it back to three.

Yelp
O MG GORGEOUS And The SERVICE WAS Awesome! Stayed in Alta cabin. Was so incredible! Staff was friendly and helpful. Best dang vacation rental property ever! Worth it. The Best Thank you ladies!

Yelp
Loved the queen sized bed and the view off the shared balcony is amazing. Had some issues with getting TV/Satellite signal but everything else made up for that. If going to the Sequoia National Park you can't ask for a closer place to stay with an amazing view of the river.

Robert S.

Yelp
First time, reasonable prices, rugged, typical river hotel, killed two spiders in bathroom, very low water pressure, fridge next to bed was loud. I camp a great deal so was fine for me, but my wife hated this place.

Yelp
This place was amazing. We stayed at the river house presidential suite. In late January. 3 rooms 2 baths. It is a split level flooring design. A few steps up to living area with a balcony overlooking a beautiful rocky river. Down a hallway on the other end of the house is a bedroom with a front porch. A few more steps up to the master with private balcony, walk ins, bathroom. Downstairs is a large bedroom with 2queens........ this place is huge. Not sure the square footage, but it's big enough for 8 people to have their own space. The views are gorgeous! In January it's snow capped mountains running down to a river 30feet away from you. The sounds of nature will put you at rest. Pet friendly. We loved that even during the day the main road had absolutely no traffic. A car every 10 mins or so. Literally around the corner is the entrance to Sequoia where We spent the day having snowball fights and sledding. It's at the perfect elevation where the cabin won't get snow but a mile up the road will be covered in it. Well priced. If quiet serenity is what you want, it's there.

Yelp
This lodge is cozy, clean and staff is friendly. My husband and I stayed here for a week and did not want to leave. It is close to town, entrance to the park, you get a breakfast basket every morning and it is cozy. Not a luxurious room but very clean. All rooms have a beautiful view of the Kaweah River. Best time to visit is during spring so you can see the blooming flowers, plush greenery and high tide waters. When we come back to Sequoia we plan to stay at the Buckeye Tree Lodge again.

Yelp
Stayed in one of the cabins. Quaint, cozy and comfortable. Queen size bed in the Blossom cabin where we stayed. It was enjoyable since only staying 2 nights. Had we planned a longer stay I would've opted for more amenities. A king sized bed would've been preferred. Cabin bathroom only had a shower and after a long day of hiking a soak in a tub would've been nice. No phone in cabin and cell service was poor but found certain spots in room that worked. Free wifi. Cabin is located across the street from the lodge and office. There is an outdoor pool but it's also located across the street. The river is located in back of the lodge snd guests can sit nearby and enjoy the beauty of it. Parking is right next to cabin and is free. Cabin gas kitchen which we utilized however ice bucket was dirty and did not have a liner- took to office and they ran out of liners but gave us a clean ice bucket. Ice machine is also located across the street near the office next to a beverage vending machine. One of the okayed in the cupboard had dried food on it so maybe previous guests didn't wash properly snd staff didn't check everything- not sure. Cabin had coffee beans, grinder and coffee maker as well as tea options. For $5 staff will provide a. Asker with 2 beverages, fruit ( ours was 2 apples) and 2 muffins which were pumpkin and very delicious. Office manager also gave us extra muffins to apologize for the dirty ice bucket. There is an outdoor grill and a table with chairs to enjoy your meal at outside as well as a couple of Adirondack chairs to relax and listen to the River, drink your coffee or read. TV with cable in cabin. Convenient restaurant across the street with a wonderful river view. 5 minutes from entrance into national park. $35 fee which is good for 7 days. From the entrance it's about .45 minutes to an hour to get to General Sherman and other Sequoia sights. Fair prices. Good experience. Quiet, peaceful and serene atmosphere.

Yelp
Was initially going to stay in Fresno to visit the national parks because all other places in or by the parks were outrageous but this place was surprisingly reasonably priced. Stayed in late February. Everything was super clean, and it had beautiful views. Was like 2 minutes from the sequoia national park entry. Will definitely book again.

Yelp
This is a wonderful, eco-friendly accommodation. Rooms are nicely decorated, generous in size and very homey. We stayed in room 5 with a very comfy king bed and a gorgeous view of the Kaweah River. I highly recommend this lodge!

Nile G.

Yelp
We rented a room for the long weekend but didn't make it there because both our toddlers threw up in the car four hours into the trip. We went back home to take care of them and sadly let Buckeye know we couldn't make it. The Buckeye staff - in particular, Rose - had already been wonderful handling a special request from us. We didn't expect any money when we cancelled since we were past the cancellation time but they went above and beyond and found someone to rent two of our nights so we received an unexpected refund. We plan on spending the refund and a little more to make a return trip thanks to Buckeye and their five star hospitality.

Yelp
Love this lodge! It's old and rustic but very clean. We stayed in a 2 bedroom ,1 bath lodge , with bbq grill outside and full kitchen inside . We were not given a basket with muffins and other goodies since we have a kitchen . It's pet friendly and I was concerned about dog dander but so far we have no problem. There's is a restaurant few steps from the hotel ( Gateway) and will give you 10% discount if you present your room key. The ladies who work here are all nice , they let us in 2 hours early .

Frances P.

Yelp
Wonderful lodge! We stayed here for 3 nights in room #9 with a kitchenette. The room is very clean and cozy. It faces the river and it was lovely to hear the stream during the evenings and early mornings. The place is right next to the entrance of the park. Perfect location! I thought the walls were too thin. Lodge room #9 is located on the ground floor, so we could heard talking and footsteps from upstairs. It could have been that our neighbors were talking loud and heavy footed, but this won't stop us from booking here again.

Yelp
Loved this little rustic lodge right next door to the parks' entrance. We stayed at the river cabin which we found to be clean and spacious for a family of 8. The location right on the river is special and makes for fantastic views and memories. Taking away one star because my sister booked a room during our stay and it could have been a tad cleaner. Also the basic lodge rooms are VERY small. My advice is to get a cabin! We hope to be back soon.

Yelp
I'm a huge fan! My husband and I had reservations at another lodge in Sequoia National Park canceled the day before our trip due to COVID concerns, and luckily Buckeye had availability. We rented one of their cabins and loved it: lots of space, very clean, comfy bed, full kitchen, outdoor patio space, and more. Staff was also very friendly and helpful. Now I'd never want to stay anywhere else in the area!

Yelp
Really enjoyed our stay. My partner and I and our 1 year old son had planned a trip to Sequoia. We found this place last minute and crossed our fingers that it was as nice as the reviews said. It sure was! Traveling with a little one can be rough but the lose was nice for a family. We stayed in room 5 for 2 nights. Pros: Small, yet private with the sound of the Kaweah River right behind us. Fresh while coffee beans to make coffee. Welcome basket with muffins, fruit and juice. I loved the smell of fresh muffins and bought some extras to go! Location is at the foot of the entrance to Sequoia National Park. Benches, tables and beautiful scenery. Cons: Pack extra food because the food in the area is pricey. The restaurant right next door charged about 15-20 for a meal. The room has a microwave and mini fridge, we just didn't prepare. Walls are thin! We realized that room 5 and room 7? Had the beds on the same wall so we were able to hear and sometimes feel when our neighbors would move in their bed. We definitely heard the coughing and snoring but luckily we were also a bit under the weather so we didn't have issues falling sleep. I'm sure our neighbors could hear my son crying or coughing too! The staff is friendly, hospitable and the price is reasonable for the area. We found our go to lodge for the area! We will be back!

Yelp
Stayed here for my boyfriend's birthday. It was his first time going up to Sequoia National Park. It's close to the park entrance which is perfect! We stayed in room 4 one night and 5 the last night. The rooms are comfy and the views are breathtaking! It's nice to sit outside, drink coffee and watch the river flowing. We will be returning in the summer.

Yelp
Updated review I honestly could not love this place anymore than I do right now! We used to come here when our daughter was little 3 to 7 years old. Now she's 17, and what better time than after 3 months at home for the pandemic, to come to Three Rivers and Sequoia National Park for a mother daughter trip to nature. Tje park is spectacular!!! . The Buckeye Tree is the closest lodging to the park , at about 1 mile away. Sequoia national park just opened and they are not yet charging to enter. The hotel is as comfy and sweet as I remember. Christian and Shannon bought here about 3 years ago, and they've updated the rooms. The beds are great and the sheets and comforters are soft. They are so nice and helpful here. The rooms at Buckeye Tree are directly on the river!! Ask for one of the rooms With a sliding glass door. It's just a few steps down to the lawn- Sit at one of the tables and enjoy the view, climb down to the river, meditate a little. Soul southing. For warm days, and summer has many there is a lovely pool, and a 2nd one Directly across the street at their sister property. Fresh baked muffins and fruit await you upon arrival! Hurry up!!! We can't wait to come back!!!!!

Yelp
We stayed a total of 5 nights at the Buckeye Tree Lodge in early August. We had a GREAT time there--three nights in one of the cabins, two nights in the lodge. The cabin had a shady tree and patio with a grill outside, comfortable bed and small but functional kitchen. The Lodge room also had comfortable bed and good ventilation/AC for a very hot few days. The staff and owners were around frequently and good resources for local information, and really accommodating during these strange COVID days. We couldn't have been happier to stay there--it's really close to Sequoia Park entrance as well as Mineral King entrance to the park. It also has an easy access to the Kaweah River, which this time of year is really refreshing. We'll definitely make a stay there again when we're in the area.

Yelp
My friends and I absolutely loved our stay at the Buckeye Tree Lodge! The room itself was equipped with everything we needed for an overnight stay, we were even given a breakfast basket which included muffins, juice and fruit. The room also had fresh coffee beans as well as a coffee grinder, so we had the pleasure of enjoying a fresh cup of coffee while enjoying the view from our back porch. I would definitely recommend Buckeye due to the convenient location, great amenities, and amazing view!

Yelp
Surprisingly well-kept & great proximity to the south entrance of Sequoia National Park! I came across this lodge when I called to find a place to stay at Sequoia Village Inn. Turns out the Inn directed me to Buckeye Tree Lodge, as they are under the same ownership. These 2 hotels are right across the street from each other too. If you're looking for a place to stay near the Park and if the lodges inside the Park are completely full, then I'd highly recommend Buckeye to you. While you are not staying in "luxury" at this lodge, it definitely meets all of your minimum requirements! I liked that it had a microwave, mini fridge and easy access to Kaweah River right in your backyard. The air conditioning was fantastic, kept the room CHILLY this past weekend, when the temperatures reached triple digits. :) Thank goodness for A/C! The room is carpeted and there's a big tv for when you want to rest in the evening. For some reason, I was expecting something from the 70s/80s, but it seems like they updated some of the things in the room. :) Much appreciated. My husband and I also enjoyed the fresh "breakfast baskets" that are prepared for each morning. It comes with a muffin, pastry, fruits, and 2 cans of Kern nectar juice. One of our peaches was bruised up though :( It was nice to have some breakfast before we embarked on our hiking excursions in the mornings. Overall, our stay at this lodge met our hotel needs for this weekend Sequoia trip. The location is great because it's less than 0.5 miles from the entrance kiosk to the Park. I think it's the last lodge on your right, right before you head into the Park (if you're driving through Three Rivers). They're also pet friendly, $10 per night for your pet. Just remember that pets are NOT allowed on the trails in Sequoia National Park!

Yelp
The Buckeye Tree Lodge is the closest hotel to the National Park entrance and is located with a river running outside your back door. You can find deer grazing near your window in the early morning and I wouldn't leave food in your car (bears). Hey, that's nature, right? While you are paying for the location and scenery over comfort and luxury it's worth it to me. I am not the type to stay in my room all day and was only there to sleep so it worked out fine. I have stayed here before and can't complain other than the outdated style. The room came with a fridge, micro, coffee maker, old Zenith 12" TV, and (free) telephone. When I checked in the lady at the front desk was very sweet and we even got a nice little breakfast basket every day we stayed. It was nice to have extra snacks/drinks for our trips into the park. This place may not have changed much since the 70's but it's still worth the stay, if just for the location alone.

Yelp
Excellent location! This place is very close to the entrance of Sequoia National Park and it is right on the river! There is a sitting area right outside the room and a table and benches closer to the river. The room was not fancy, but the price was quite reasonable! My one complaint is the internet was terrible. It was so slow it was almost non-existent.

Yelp
Room was clean. Front desk staff was cool. Had a little issue with the plumbing when we got there, but they serviced that quick. Falling asleep listening to the river (get a downstairs room!) was the dopest part 'cause you can hear it flowing all night. Treated us right, so if we ever make the trip to see General Sherman and the Giant Forest again, we'll be staying here off top. Super close to Sequoia Natl park too.

Yelp
My three friends and I stayed at Buckeye Tree Lodge for one night this past weekend and we had a great time! The room was very clean and neat. The bathroom came with more than enough towels for all of us. There was a breakfast basket with muffins, apples, bananas, and juice for us to enjoy in the morning. We had a back door that led to a porch with views of the river. We want to come back in the summer to enjoy a dip in the water. Very convenient location right outside of Sequoia National Park.

Yelp
Great spot to stay if you're heading into the Sequoia National Park, as it's the closest to the gates as you'll get! We rented the Forest cabin for a few nights and it was a great experience. The place was spacious with all the needs covered if you want to eat in. The rooms are spacious and have plenty of space to keep your clothes. Each room and the living room has it's own heater and they're very quiet! I wasn't sure they were working until I felt the warmth, HUGE plus. The only problem was the remote that controls the heater in the smaller bedroom right next to the bathroom did not work. We were able to turn it on, but the temperature setting buttons did not work. It always read 50, but obviously went above that because it did get pretty warm in the room. The bathroom was really cute, but the water pressure in the shower was a bit light. The kitchen has just about everything you need if you're cooking in, which I highly recommend since there aren't many places to eat nearby. Walking distance, I only saw the Gateway and after reading reviews, did not want to waste the time. Other restaurants a few miles away were open, but we had already brought groceries. We had roasted hot dogs using the fireplace and steaks grilled on the stove and asparagus roasted in the over the first night and roasted chicken with mashed potatoes and stuffing the second. We also roasted marshmallows in the fireplace for dessert. The living room is an adorable sitting area, but be careful of the rug under the table, you can slip easily. We had left behind a couple items in the room and the front desk actually emailed me to let me know, even offering to mail the items back for a small shipping fee! THAT'S great service!! Checking in and out was incredibly easy and there was plenty of parking spots available. Will be back soon!

Yelp
We had such an amazing time here. We stood in the river house, it has such an beautiful view over looking the creek the pictures here do the lodge no justice! The house was fully stocked with pots and pans and had two refrigerators and a grill. Free calls which was great because you have no service up in the mountains. The River house had three rooms the Master bed room has a beautiful bathroom with a window to the creek. Super private so you can enjoy a sexy relaxing shower. We did have a few problem the last 2 hours of our stay but the owner was amazing and helped us out. Would definitely stay here again!

Yelp
When we visit Sequoia National Park this is the go to place for us. The lodge is affordable, inviting, and convenient. There are a variety of different rooms that you can book, each having its own unique features which makes repeat visits quite fun. The park is just down the street from this place and right nearby there is a nice little diner to have breakfast which we often visit. We've visited this place twice and enjoy the location and the staff. We definitely plan on coming back.

Yelp
Great little place. Kids loved the river, the day we hd in the park was fantastic and the rooms were simple and well kept with nice staff. There was snow in the park, was a bit of a ball ache having to get chains but the park was amazing If you want to step into the 80's, check out the restaurant next store. It's not cheap, but the food quality was good as was the service. Will be back
