Very good supper club, it checked all the boxes. The bar is great and the dining area is a fantastic throwback. We loved the atmosphere and really enjoyed our meal! The patio area was really nice but unfortunately some weather was moving in and we could only enjoy it for a few minutes. Oh and they make a fine old fashioned!

Google
My family chose this spot to celebrate our anniversary and I’m glad they did! The food was wonderful - I had the prime rib, French onion soup and the starter bread that was a pretzel bun with beer cheese on the side. It was all very flavorful and the prime rib was a perfect medium-rare. The indoors was charming with a frozen-in-time look with some modern touches, and the view of the lake was beautiful.

Google
The BEST kept secret in southern WI!! Come for the food, stay for the sunsets! This place is INCREDIBLE! The food is to die for, the drinks are fabulous, the ambiance is true “WI supper club” vibes, the view is beautiful & the staff is EXCELLENT! The prime rib is like biting into a satin pillowcase, easily some of the most tender & delicious prime rib I’ve ever had! Our bartenders Sarah & Maggie were absolutely FANTASTIC & our server Arturo was SUPERB! We will be back again & again!

Google
Really love the atmosphere here! Our waitress was very pleasant and attentive. However, they had a decent looking tap beer selection judging by the tap handles but upon ordering they told us they weren't serving any tap beer tonight. The bottled beer selection was just a mix of standard domestic options. We weren't offered an option for inside or outside so I suppose we should have asked, thankfully got a good window seat. I had the Mahi special which was ok and my girlfriend had perch which was great! Portion size was good, but prices a little high.

Google
I have never had better service, better food, or just better everything, Trey our server was phenomenal!! We had great conversation with him from food to accounting, school rivalries to career choices. Buckhorn Supper Club truly defines what the Wisconsin Supper Club experience is all about!!! Never miss a chance to come to dine, drink, or hang out here!!!!! Simply Amazing!!!!!!

Google
Love the atmosphere but the food is severely lacking.. one of the most expensive meals we have ever had.. about 220 for 2 people. Ribeye was very dry and had no flavor, lobster had no flavor. Had to salt both items to make edible. No seasoning it would seem on either item as well as the red potatoes. Bartender was great and first drink was good. However when ordering second drink to go with our dinner it was over 30 minutes to get drinks (one of which comes in a beer can...) we were almost ready to leave by the time we got them. The dining area was half empty so Im surprised it was this slow. I would come here for a drink on the water again but definitely not for food.

Google
Food was so so. And expensive! Service was good. Views of the lake were awesome.

Google
A very busy restaurant, I strongly encourage making a reservation. We went on a Saturday night, they had live music (which was good). I did make a reservation, and we ended up waiting over half an hour to get our table. We ordered the tenderloin crostini appetizer (very pepper forward), lobster tail, ribeye with mushrooms, cheesy potato bacon soup, pink squirrel after dinner drink along with homemade pecan pie. All of it was delicious! The meal also included a warm basket of fresh baked rolls, butter, breadsticks, and a delicious cheese spread! The lighting inside is dim, so the photos are not great.

Yelp
We were craving a great supper club steak and the Buckhorn did not disappoint. Our steaks were cooked perfectly and the sides were excellent. Our service was wonderful and our drinks were made perfectly. Of course the real star of the night was the lake view. Grab a seat around sunset and the whole experience will be great. Add the Buckhorn to your Wisconsin supper club tour!

Yelp
Buckhorn's did not disappoint!! One of our favorite places! I love the vintage supper club atmosphere and moody lighting. The night we visited there was live music which really added to everything. The view of the lake is always beautiful as well! Bartenders are always on point and know how to make a fabulous cocktail. Everyone is so friendly and accommodating also. I'm a HUGE fan of their French onion soup - it's loaded with cheese and is always seasoned perfectly. I always use Buckhorn as the standard to all other French onion soups :) Love that they serve a great bread basket and spread cheese and crackers. I'm hooked on their filet mignon - always perfectly cooked and delicious They have excellent cuts of meat. My picky husband was very pleased about his lobster dinner as well, it was giant! We will definitely be eating here again - hopefully soon! :)

Yelp
Food was amazing! Drinks, delish! Views, priceless! A favorite to visit when in the area! Highly recommend!

Yelp
Fantastic classic supper club, great vibes, good service, drinks, and the walleye was excellent. Great lake views in a cozy setting.

Yelp
Went with a LARGE group of about 22 on a Friday night.... Had the King's cut of Prime Rib that DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!! My cut was rare to medium rare, EXACTLY how I like it! Then, someone in the group ordered a Brandy Alexander - I had never had one before - and I finished it off!!!! Delicious!!!! The staff was great and the place was hoppin' with an older decor - kinda circa 1960's / 1970's.... 10/10 would eat here again!!!!

Yelp
Garett was wonderful, he hosted the dinner without ever interrupting us and never made us feel rushed at all despite our larger party being later in the evening. He made good suggestions and made sure all of our drinks were consistently kept full. All of our dinners were delicious and came out in a timely manner, as did our appetizers of the beef tenderloin bites- which were great with the sauce. We wanted to sit outside, and even with it drizzling a bit were were all comfortable under the large tent provided. The bar inside was really well done, the red LED's add a nice flair. Garett was personable & a delight overall, we appreciate the experience.

Yelp
I would recommend this restaurant for the view in the warm weather months. The staff is very welcoming and efficient. The only downside was the prices. The prime rib was one of the best I have had, and the broiled scallops were quite nice, but the side choices were underwhelming. The roasted green beans were barely recognizable as beans, my wive's baked potato was overdone and dry. The accompanying soups were ok, did not come across as homemade, had more of a food service supply company taste to them. The $140 for two dinners and two drinks and tip was a bit much. I waver between 3 & 3 1/2 stars for this review. We may come back in the summer for broasted chicken and the view of Lake Koshonong.

Yelp
My husband had the best prime rib ever! I had the breaded shrimp which was good as well.

Yelp
We made reservations for a Sunday, because you never know! Their parking situation is not ideal, but they are at the end of a road due to being on the water, so it is what it is. When you get in, there is a host stand, right there. They have a very large and welcoming bar, it reminds me of Springers in stoughton. We were seated right away, and our server was just stellar. So very attentive, answered every question without annoyance. I actually got an appetizer for my meal because it sounded so amazing. It was braised tenderloin over portobello mushrooms. They were fall apart, melt in your mouth GOOD. They would even Ben great over a pasta! I had so much tenderloin left, I joked that I needed another mushroom. My husband got scallops, and he's very picky. They weren't in his top three, but he said they were decent. The others in our party got a giant lobster tail, and the king cut prime rib. From the pricing on their menu, it is a no brained to get the king, because there is only a $1 difference between the king and the queen cut. Unless that was a typo, since it looks like they update it daily. That is also nice, because they put the day's specials on it too. Soup over salad, because the salad was meh, but the soup was STELLAR. It was slower when we went, so that made a huge difference in our experience, but we will definitely be back when the ice thaws, so we can really enjoy their view of the lake!

Yelp
Went for a fish fry. Soup was good, and fish fries were decent. Ambiance was a little off. Waitress was attentive.

Yelp
My son and I have been visiting this Supper Club for 5 years now, and we were never disappointed. Tonight was no different. We were seated promptly and courteously. Our drink orders fulfilled immediately and were very good. We had asked for some time to just talk and enjoy the view of Lake Koshkanong. They were more than happy to accommodate. We ordered, probably THE BEST Baked Fench Onion soup we have ever tasted. My son ordered the Queen Cut Prime Rib, which he states is by far the best he has ever had, and he has been to a lot of places that serve prime rib. It's his favorite. I had the 7oz Fillet medium rare. It was presented on a stainless steel hotplate and cooked perfectly. With that, the steamed broccoli was lightly coated in a delicious blanket of butter. I also added on some broiled scallops, which once again were cooked to perfection with a side of drawn butter. For dessert, I indulged in a Brandy Alexander. It was very large and indulgent, and my son went with his go to; Key Lime Pie. He absolutely loved it, saying that it wasn't too sweet but not too sour. A perfect balance. Thank you to Garrett, our server, for being extremely attentive and accommodating. I would recommend this Authentic Wisconsin Supper Club to anyone who wants the real deal!!!!

Yelp
Extremely overpriced. Had to wait 70 minutes for a table even though there were open tables. It was over priced by about 30%, when compared to food of comparable quality and quantity at some supper clubs in a 1 hour radius. Maybe catering to a Chicago audience who is used to overpaying for going out to eat.
google avatar

Marianne H.

Yelp
Seriously?!! Had a reservation and still had to wait 40 minutes (isn't a reservation supposed to reserve a table?). Food was another 40 minutes after ordering.... Salty overpriced and mediocre. Way too expensive. Coasting on their reputation.
google avatar

Yelp
Ambiance was great. Food is over priced and mediocre. There are better super clubs with better food for less.

Yelp
Over priced and not very good quality meat. Last time 4 of us were there, we had over $150 bill with 1 drink a pice and dinner and the steak was to tough to chew

Jim H.

Yelp
Terrible - we planned this evening a few weeks ago to celebrate a birthday - scheduled a reservation at 7:30. Arrived at 7 and I'm still waiting at 8:15. Terrible so far... The rest of the night only got worse - finally seated at 8:30, pleasant server got us drinks and bread - and took our order reasonably fast - she stopped to say she was sorry for the long wait a couple of times - finally got our $250 meal for four at 9:20. All three ribeyes were ordered medium rare and all came out medium (pink) with one closer to medium well pinkish grey and the prime rib ordered medium rare, was well done. My wife sent it back, also needed to have the mashed potatoes reheated. Buckhorns gave us two free desserts and didn't charge for the unbeatable prime rib. Lobster was good. Tipped the waitress 15% because she was trying ... and left. The experience was absolutely terrible but the steak, although overcooked, had good flavor.

True Stor Y.

Yelp
Had a very enjoyable experience here. Started off with a lemon martini, which was perfect. Not too sweet or sour. For appetizers we had the scallops. Bacon wrapped. It was a $20 appetizer and there was only 4 but let me tell you, worth it. The prime rib was delicious and cooked just perfect. The onion soup deliciously sweet and tangy. The perch was good but my dinner partner said he could tell it was a little old but still good. It has that old time supper club atmosphere. The wait staff was extremely friendly and service quick. Be prepared to pay a little money here but great for a laid back date night.

Yelp
We've been a few times a year customers for 30+ years. Last night had it's down's and up's, starting that staff isn't masking (but I wasn't really surprised). We've been eating out a bit lately and most servers and staff are, so having always thought of the place as upscale, I thought maybe... Next was the bar debacle (mrs grumpy pants), where we order our favorite, margaritas one of each, for the usual higher cost of $16. My wife noticed something black floating in hers, fished it out and inspected. Relieved that it wasn't a bug we attempted to continue on when she noticed many black specs in my strawberry drink. The lady was grumpy on so many levels that I was just going to take mine to the table and bring it up there. My wife doesn't back down from many people and soon called grumpy over, where she looked at the black specs and shrugged it off as normal...wtf, then dumped them in sink without even checking what it could be, and maybe find the source. Grumpy asked if we'd like something different. We got a couple sodas and she never even considered adjusting the cost. The dining experience was better with a very nice server and the Bluegill was the best as always. We did however realize the place hasn't been remodeled in our lifetime and is seriously run down.

Yelp
Great Wisconsin supper club Fish Fry so good, the baked is my favorite Best dirty martini served A nice bar. The view is amazing. Nice out door in summer.

Yelp
Ate outdoors on a Saturday night in early October. Like many other restaurants trying to recover from the pandemic, they are running a smaller menu. I missed the giant pile of onion rings they used to serve. The food we did have was quite tasty, and our server (wish I could remember her name) was very nice and on top of things. Our crew had the prime rib, tenderloin, halibut (why? Just for the, err, Hal-I-but) and the ribeye. French onion soup was delicious. Their ice cream drinks are ridiculously large and creamy. Save room for one to share!

Yelp
My husband and I drove from Indiana to meet my cousin, who drove from St. Paul to experience the lobster boil at The Buckhorn Supper Club. It was a great experience and worth the drive. Our evening began with drinks in the bar. We all enjoyed a glass of Old Fashioned, a white wine from Drumlin Ridge Winery in Waunakee. A nice selection of local wines and beer is available. I also had a brandy old fashioned sweet. My cousin had a bourbon old fashioned. Before the boil began we moved to the patio which has a lovely view of the lake. We were able to see the lobster boil from the patio, but most walked down the hill to watch. After the boil we moved to the dining room to have our meal. Dinner began with a Caesar Salad and a piece of jalapeño cornbread. The lobster arrives at the table plates with a potato, corn on the cob and the whole lobster. Staff circulates the room helping guests to shell the lobster. For dessert we were treated to a fudge brownie with grasshopper ice cream. White and red wine are also included. Except for the lobster, you can enjoy additional helpings of the sides. The meal was great. The staff works hard to make sure everyone is enjoying their evening. Matt and Chico moved around the dining room to check on their guests and made sure everyone is enjoying their meal. I would recommend the lobster boil. We are looking forward to returning in the future to try the regular menu.

Greg Y.

Yelp
One of the best prime rib dinners I have ever had! Showed up at 6pm on Saturday so had to wait an hour to be seated outdoors without a reservation which was fine. Sat at the bar and enjoyed a couple of great old fashioned and watched the bartender make beautiful ice cream drinks. Service was outstanding even as busy as they were

Mark P.

Yelp
Yum, loved the Prime Rib. A little fattier than Im used to but very good. Nice outdoor seating.
google avatar

Abigail W.

Yelp
We had a large party of about 18 people and a reservation. We did have to wait quite a while for our tables - which I know is classic supper club, so no worries there. Huge place and large bar where we were served quickly. I will say the cheese curds were good but pretty $$$ in my opinion because we didn't get very many on each plate. My little table all got fish and were satisfied with what we were served. We did get a bread basket - good, and a coleslaw type salad that I was not a fan of.
google avatar

Tina R.

Yelp
We went here last night for the first time. Greeted warmly by the staff an the owner. The service was wonderful, attentive and quick. NOW, the food. WOW. We had the spinach and artichoke dip with garlic toast for appetizer, queen cut prime rib with baked potato for entrée and pecan pie for dessert. ALL was amazing. The prime rib was to die for, perfectly seasoned and cooked! We will be back!
google avatar

Yelp
I love the vibe here and always will. Service is outstanding I just wish it was a touch more reasonably priced. I paid I think like $14 for mac and cheese off the kids menu for my daughter and I'm about 90% certain it was Kraft. Love the stuffed shrimp, drinks are great!

Tim S.

Yelp
Classic Wisconsin supper club vibe and great food and fun servers. Worth the trip from Madison for a low key weekend night.

Yelp
So to start off my party of 14 and I came for Friday night fish fry. We are from Georgia and come to Wisconsin once a year looking forward to this tradition. However, our experience at Buckhorn was definitely one for the worse. To begin with, knowing that it is a supper club, I expected prices to be high. However, with high prices I expect delicious food. Despite this, the exact opposite was true. The fried cod, steak, and shrimp were mediocre. The menu has nothing cheaper than $11.99 (which is Mac and cheese), yet the food is worth no more than $15 at best. Along with the poor quality for a high price, one of the members of my party asked our server if they could have an item off the kids menu because they wanted a smaller portion. The waitress responded that she would revive the same amount of food but for an up charge!! Why on earth would they charge more for the same amount of food?? Then, another member of my party asked for a salad with chicken on it but they refused to put the chicken on a small salad saying they only put chicken on large salads. It sounds like to me they care more about the money than the satisfaction of their guests. Lastly, in addition to these negatives, our service was quite poor. With a large party, I expect the server to be annoyed but put on a good face considering their tip. However, the server clearly displayed her anger and annoyance of our party. She was extremely short after every request for a drink refill or menu question, and she proceeded to stare at us from afar after the bill was payed and we stayed seated at the table. In all, definitely would not recommend. Cool atmosphere but poor food, high prices, and substandard service.

Suzie R.

Yelp
This is a beautiful spot to spend an autumn evening dining out on the back patio. The staff is friendly and the ambience is classic supper club. Sadly, they are coasting on the food. Our prime rib came out cool to the touch, swimming in a puddle of cold jus in which the beef fat was beginning to congeal. They forgot our mushrooms, and when they finally came out they were either canned or possibly just boiled for a long time -? Expensive add-on of compound butter was butter with some dried herbs stirred into it. Cocktails watery. For upwards of $45 a plate, they should do better than this.

Jen W.

Yelp
We used to come here and really enjoy it. I feel like the quality has gone down since Covid. Our last trip here, the menu was paper and very small. We got the artichoke dip and it was no better than what you could buy at the grocery store. Disappointed former fan.
google avatar

Tod T.

Yelp
What a great meal glad we didn't take the latest reviews to heart. Spending our 20th wedding anniversary there was a hit and our server Beth was one of the best I've encountered. The only reason I didn't award 5 stars is was more barish and lacked a tablecloth and way to many tables. The food and drinks a bit on the high end and the mushrooms with the steak came from a can. The quality of meat and the homemade desert are second to none. I would go back! Oh the fried bluegill was almost as if I cooked it myself.
google avatar

Yelp
One of my good friends lives in Janesville and we stopped by to visit her during a recent business trip. She recommended we try Buckhorn in the next town over for dinner and made a reservation for Friday on Valentine's Day weekend. I'd never been to a supper club so I Wikipedia'ed it and found that decades ago, people would spend entire evenings there and enjoy a 3-4 hour dinner with music and socializing. When we arrived, we were seated immediately (pretty low key and quiet for Valentine's weekend). The first thing I noticed was the Christmas lights that were still hanging from their columns and rafters. The ceilings were low and the ambience was very casual - totally different from what I was expecting from what I read about supper clubs. We started off with shrimp cocktail (12 medium sized ones) that came on a glass plate. I've only ever had shrimp cocktail in a cocktail glass, so this presentation was new to me. I got a spiked lemonade and my husband had a few beers that came out in a timely manner. I chose the fried crab stuffed shrimp and chose steamed broccoli over fries. It was amazing! Unfortunately, the lighting was dim so I didn't attempt to take any pictures, but believe me when I say that I'd definitely order this meal again. The shrimp were perfectly fried and came out steaming hot. The broccoli was perfectly steamed and tasted like there was a sprinkle of salt on top. My husband got the prime rib meal that was so tender and cooked medium rare. We asked for horseradish since it wasn't served with it and got 2 different servings: pure horseradish and horseradish cream. The cream was perfect for the fries. The service was friendly except we thought our meals were on the house when we had to wait for the check. That took 15 minutes too long. Overall, we were all impressed with our meals and would recommend Buckhorn for anyone looking for a casual meal with great food. I think the quality of food made up for the lack of ambience - at least in the winter. Their tv screen flashed pictures of their specials and also great views of the lake (that I can't pronounce or spell) in the summer. We'll have to come back in the summer months for more shrimp and prime rib on their patio next to the lake!

Deanna O.

Yelp
This supper club is at the perfect location with the sun setting over Lake Koshkonong as the centerpiece of your dinner view. True to supper club form, they have great old fashioned drinks. Beer cheese is served with your crackers, bread sticks, and warm rolls. The prime rib is excellent!! To wrap up your dinner, make sure you get a pink squirrel, grasshopper, or brandy Alexander.
google avatar

Peter C.

Yelp
This place is at the end of a long road hidden along the lake. When pulling up you can tell that it has been in operation for a long time. We has called ahead and were given a time to be there. We did have to wait 15 mins past that time to be seated. One drawback was the 10 dollar minimum at the bar to use your credit card and that it could not be added to your check from dinner. The food and drink were amazing. The old fashioned that they are known for was excellent. The wait staff was warm and friendly and right on the spot for service. The French Onion Soup was the best I have ever had and the New York Strip steak was tender and had good flavor along with the mushrooms. Overall this was what all of those Wisconsin Supper Club commercials touted and it was true to the experience.
google avatar

Sean C.

Yelp
Vintage supper club vibe with a beautiful lakefront view. Dined here recently with family members and thought it was a excellent experience all the way around. Ordered a pre-dinner drink at the bar while waiting to be seated and once seated was provided a basket of rolls and various crackers with cheese spread/butter while waiting for order to arrive. For dinner had the prime rib which was cooked to perfection and large in portion and the waitstaff was super friendly. We ate outside with a view to the lake which was nice.
google avatar

Liz M.

Yelp
Food very good! And, location, lakeview, ambience...all A+ But, the service was rather slow. After 10 minutes had to ask for a breadbasket. 15 minutes for a shrimp cocktail. I ordered the seafood treasure chest, it comes with a lobster tail. The scallops, shrimp, cod were delightful. But there was a problem in the kitchen with the lobster tail and it didn't come until the end of my meal. They kindly took it off the bill but the owner lady stood and glared at me, smugly. Usually, a manager will come over and apologize if there is a problem, but here it was a stink-eye. My guy had prime rib. Yummy, as were the french fries. Good eats.
google avatar

Michael K.

Yelp
Way overpriced for bulk sysco food. My $45 dinner was served on a folding table. Aesthetically, the place is a dump. Family of 4 for dinner $275

Yelp
I had the good fortune to be treated to dinner here while on a recent business trip, and I couldn't have asked for a better overall dining experience. I was unfamiliar with the concept of supper clubs, but apparently they're a pretty big deal in Wisconsin. Now I see why. I loved this place before I made it in the door. It's situated in a quiet, heavily treed area overlooking a beautiful lake. Our group of 6 arrived early enough to grab a front row table on the patio, which provided us with a perfect view of the lake, complete with ducks, geese, and the occasional passing boat off in the distance. This provided the perfect backdrop for drinks, dinner and conversation, and then, just as we finished up, it went from serene to spectacular as the sun set over the water. As luck would have it, they were hosting a wine tasting on the patio, so that was a great way to kick things off. I ordered the French onion soup to start, then the prime rib, rare of course, with an add-on of scallops and a baked sweet potato. Everything was absolutely perfect. I usually try to balance my good reviews with at least one minor nitpick, but honestly, as they say, I got nuthin'. I tried to pass on desert, but there was key lime pie. I never pass on key lime pie. And I'm glad I didn't. This place is an absolute must if your travels take you anywhere nearby. No ifs, ands, or buts; if you're in the area, you need to eat here. It will make you wish you lived here (well, at least in the spring and summer).

Debbi T.

Yelp
Have always loved this place so we wanted to introduce our new daughter in law to supper clubs. Had a reservation for 7:30, arrived around 7:15 and were told they were seating the 7:00 reservations now. Went to the bar for drinks--the poor bartender was running crazy because it looked like she was alone. There doesn't appear to be any system of keeping track of people with reservations so around 8:15 I asked the hostess what the progress was. Got seated around 8:20. No servers came to take our order until 8:45 since it didn't look like they had a plan for who got what table and we got overlooked. After we made repeated eye contact with one of the servers she did go over and discuss with the hostess so that's probably why we didn't sit even longer. Food came out after 9:00 and it was sadly average. I have had some amazing meals here in the past but the French onion soup was way too salty, the chicken teriyaki was bland, and my baked cod was just ok. The waitress tried very hard to make up for all of this and they did comp us dessert to go. Sadly this is all too common in post-Covid times but we just won't be back.

Ray M.

Yelp
We've been on a kind of supper club kick these last few weeks and visited here yesterday (8/5/22). We arrived just as they opened and were seated quickly by a friendly hostess. Our server Lexi arrived quickly and took our drink orders. The atmosphere is OK but a little run down. Nice view of the Lake from the outside patio. Looking at the limited menu I found the prices to be a little on the high side. My wife and mother in law ordered the Queen (smaller) Rib Eye for $40. Adding mushrooms added $7 to the price. My 12oz New York Strip was $41. I don't mind paying for good food but everything except the French Onion soup was pretty much average. The soup was very good as was the Brandy Alexander my mother in law got. I've had steaks just as good if not better from Longhorn or Texas Roadhouse at a much lower price. In addition, there is a note at the bottom of the menu informing you that there is a 3.5% surcharge added if you use a credit card. That added over $7 to our bill. Summing up, good service, average food and atmosphere and what I thought to be a little high priced. Compared to other Supper Clubs we've visited (Cimaroli's, Ishnala) I don't see us ever going back to Buckhorn.

Melinda A.

Yelp
Fantastic drinks and dinner at the Buckhorn tonight- the new maple bourbon glazed scallops (with bacon) appetizer is spot on awesome :)

Yelp
Always one of my favorite places to go. You can't go wrong with their prime rib of honey BBQ salmon. Try a lobster boil in the summer when you get a chance!

Yelp
Yes, This place is for real, a real supper club. Great drinks, My wife had a dirty martini and loved it. Our waitress was tentative and on the ball. Great table overlooking the lake. The food: NY Strip was perfect! Baked potato great! Scallops done perfectly. Crab cakes and Shrimp cocktail were excellent. One set back, bring insect repellent if dining outside. Other than that, We will be back. Check this JOINT out!

Yelp
This is my go to Supper Club in the area. I've only had the prime rib, over and over. The side are good, not great. The service is warm, and caring. They make you feel like family. Sunday night is Prime rib deal night!

Yelp
My wife and I went to Buckhorn Saturday 7/9/22. We had reservations at 6:30pm and arrived around 5:30pm to have a few drinks at the bar. Be prepared to pay $8.25 - $10.75 for an old fashioned or Manhattan ($). At 6:30pm I asked the hostess if our table was ready and was told "we're seating people now." OK....wasn't sure how it worked, so I went back to wait at the bar. After watching a young girl walk around the bar asking other patrons who they were (and clearly not locating the party she was looking for - us I presume), she went back to the hostess stand. My wife and I watched them seat 3-4 tables until at 6:45pm my wife asked the hostess (who had come to the bar to seat another couple that had just arrived) if we would be seated soon? The hostess was very rude and and rolled her eyes at my wife and condescendingly said "this gentleman said you could be seated first" (which he actually did say), but also stated they had just arrived and we were waiting first. Their "reservation" system is flawed and they (apparently) have no way of knowing who the reservation is for as they have to ask every couple at the bar who you are to be able to seat you. If they cannot locate you (or they give up trying to find you) they just move on and your out of luck and if you dare to question them about it, become agitated and rude. We were finally seated and I ordered the ribeye and my wife ordered the chicken. I added mushrooms which were a $4.50 add on and received approximately 6-8 (small) mushrooms (that's over .50/mushroom - total rip off). My steak was cooked decently, but for a $45.00 price tag I expected A LOT more than what I received (in regards to flavor). My wife's chicken was fine, but overall the meal was just ok/average. Please also understand that Buckhorn charges YOU to ensure THEY get paid (if using a Credit card), they charge a surcharge of 3.5%. To me, that is just beyond the pale. Remember when restaurants wanted you to use credit cards to avoid checks bouncing and guaranteeing THEY would get paid? Our final bill after drinks and tip was $146.00. I reduced the tip because of the 3.5% grift attempt. Do yourself a favor....go across the lake to Northshore Chophouse.....similar pricing but much better food. Oh...and they don't extort an additional 3.5% from you to pad their bottom line.

Yelp
We left this place feeling like we just got robbed! Everything on the menu was way overpriced..... My wife and I heard about this place and wanted to try it because of the hype! We have been to some of Wisconsin's best supper clubs and restuarants. So the prices don't scare us away if the food is worth it! We came we saw is how we both felt afterwards. We arrived to this supper club Friday night around 7:30pm and walked right in. We expected a long wait or at least a very busy place and it was not. (Here's your Sign) All the greeters were friendly and smiling. We we were told to get a drink in the bar and they would get us in just a moment. We orderd 2 drinks for $20 and then were immediately sat at our table. The bar made the place seem like a Badgers sports bar rather than a nice dinner place. We were very confused???? The waitress was also very nice and knowledgable about the menu and dinner specials! My wife orderd the rainbow trout stuffed with crab meat and I did the all you can eat fried cod. The cod was not hand batterd it was like sysco fish! The rainbow trout was way overcooked and not properly seasoned. The best part of our meal was the clam chowder which I would rate 5 stars. Other than that the entire visit was very underwhelming. If we ever made it back we would try a steak or maybe prime rib instead. or just eat Bowl after bowl of the clam chowder... Just bring your checkbook with you because it is expensive!

Yelp
This is a blast from the past restaurant with a nice patio on the lake. The good times stop there....you go to a restaurant for the food and this place does not offer quality. From the tired bland salad to the very over cooked steak that is salty and dry. Even the wine is not stored properly a glass of red wine should not be served at room temperature if if is 90 degrees. Water is served on a plastic cup ick and this place is over priced for the quality. Skip this place.

Yelp
Came on a Friday with reservations I place three days ago on an answering machine. Not that you need reservations the place was only half occupied the two hours we were there. Had a good waitress that had too many tables to service. Went to the bar to get drinks twice. Food mediocre and to pricy for what you get. This place use too be the best in the area. A shame to see it has gone so far down hill.
