My wife and I had a wonderful dinner here. The folks were greatand the food was fantastic. I really liked the sausage and ribs. They had a really good blue berry bbq sauce.

Google
Good quality smoked, bbq, and grilled meats from the tender Ribs, juicy brisket, to the chicken and everything in between! Our appetizer of catfish, with aoli mayo was actually one of the highlights of the entire meal. Our server was exceptional as well. The only thing we could criticize are the sides, which I want to be nice, but are pretty terrible. My husband makes authentic southern collards, which would put theirs to absolute shame, my homemade honey cornbread is far more moist, my potato and pasta salad are better, but the French fries are phenomenal! That part of the review is solely based on years of restaurant experience. This is a fantastic place for quality meats, portions, quick quality service, and is pretty affordable for the area! Kinda wish we could have gotten a dessert or or something, considering I mentioned it was my husband's birthday(we didn't want the happy birthday sing along) and our anniversary is tomorrow, but we'd still both recommend trying Bucks!

Google
Idk. Maybe im ranking this place based on other BBQ I've had. So for the area, it's good, but compared to Texas BBQ.... It's not bad, but I would pass on returning. Got the brisket, burnt ends, chicken, and all were okay, just not as fall off the bone tender as I would like. Try it out, though! You may like it!

Google
This is our go-to never fail bbq place in Maine. Burnt ends with a loaded tater for the wife, and she was very happy. I had the brisket sandwich with slaw and fries. Hands down, it was the best brisket that I have had anywhere in the last 30 years. Seasoning was perfect along with the smoke and bark, and it was pull-apart tender. There was no need for any sauce. Yes, it was that good, and my compliments to the pitmaster! Service from Lisa was outstanding, and we will be back.

Google
Downstairs big room, very friendly barkeepers and customers. More locals than tourists. Fun place with live music. Unfortunately barbecue was overcooked and dry. Looked good before trying to cut or eat. Order came with a variety of sauces representing states where they are most popular. Good thing - needed lots of sauce to overcome the dryness. Fun experience if you like lively, friendly neighborhood bars. We'd like to go again for the atmosphere but am not sure how to get the food better cooked.

Google
Now HOT DAMNNNN! Great smoked meats! Wings were great! Catfish wonderful, Ribs fell of the bones, brisket tender, Chicken tender! Bravo 👏🏽 Compliments to the folks smoking the meats

John Zhong

Google
Everything is top notch. Ordered the BBQ combo for two, it was a very generous portion with a variety of meat. The ribs are very flavorful, and the meat for the brisket is very good quality with the right amount of fat in it which makes it very juicy. Would definitely come again!

Brent Chartrand

Google
Very good authentic BBQ. The brisket in particular was juicy and tender, both as part of the meat plate and the sandwich.

Yelp
If you are in Freeport make sure you stop by Bucks BBQ. They have the best BBQ, and the staff is amazing !

Yelp
The family always has a good time. Great food and generous servings. New owners have made nice improvements.

Yelp
Went here for lunch with a group of six guys and had an awesome time. We started with the blueberry BBQ wings--absolutely incredible. That sauce is something special! I had the fried catfish, which was perfectly crispy and flavorful. Then we all split the family/share platter, and wow--there was so much food that even six hungry guys couldn't finish it. We took some home to top burgers with later on! The potato salad and coleslaw were refreshing sides that helped balance out the rich flavors of the meats. The mac and cheese was creamy and comforting, a definite hit. Every item on the platter was great, but the standouts were the brisket and sausage, especially when paired with their four distinct BBQ sauces. The rub on those meats really made them pop--tons of flavor without being overpowering. Overall, an incredible spot for a BBQ feast. Highly recommend if you're with a group and ready to eat like kings.

Yelp
BBQ option just off exit 19 in Freeport. Lots of parking. Nice bar area with a large beer list and yummy cocktails. Portions are large. Fries are super crispy. Of course the cornbread is super yummy as well. Even if you aren't a bbq fan there are other options on the menu.

Yelp
I haven't been to Bucks in several years, but it used to be a favorite spot about 10 years ago. Tonight there were 4 of us for dinner, 3 adults and 1 child. We got there around 6:15 on Sunday 10/20/24. It wasn't too busy and we were sat right away. Our server was attentive and came to our table quickly to get our drink and appetizer order. We placed the order for a kids chicken nuggets and fries. At the same time we placed our appetizer order of fried pickle chips. Both orders came out quickly and the food was very hot . While I did not try the chicken nuggets myself, I heard they were good. I thought the pickle chips were delightful! They were a thicker slice of pickle, which I enjoyed more than a hamburger dill chip like most places have. The dipping sauce was good too. I was going to order the burnt ends as my meal with a side, but the others at the table wanted some too so we decided to order them as another appetizer. For our entrees 2 people ordered the Big Buck Combo, one with baked beans and cole slaw, the other with a baked potato and cole slaw. The Cole slaw was not vinegar based as the server described. It had a lot of mayo and neither were very impressed with that. However, both were happy with the meat and said it was good. It was A LOT of food and a decent amount went home for lunch tomorrow. I had the brisket sandwich and it was good. The brisket was tender and flavorful, I thought the bun was soft, but dry. I added the Carolina bbq sauce and it was the perfect sauce for the sandwich. It tasted as if it had a lot of yellow mustard, which I don't mind at all, but was very different from the places I used to get bbq from when I was in N Carolina. For my side I had the baked beans. They were not hot, but I thought the flavor was good. Then came our burnt ends - and I do mean BURNT. I could smell the burnt meat before it got to the table. You know those creosote crusted pieces from the grill if you don't scrub the grates? That was the entire outside of the burnt ends. They were terrible. We each had a little bite and left the rest. Not edible. Overall, the service was good, but the food was meh. I wouldn't go back anytime soon,

Yelp
The inside is appropriate for the food, barnlike with wood plank floors and strings of lights. The seats are soft, and should be replaced. Our server was attentive and friendly, even offering to remake his sweet tea when he commented that it wasn't as sweet as he likes. We started with the wings with the blueberry bbq sauce and they were delicious, thick and meaty. The sauce is subtly sweet, very good. We also had the Q for two. It's a massive plate. The bark is great but I thought the meats were a little too stringy or dry, not succulent.

Yelp
Best bbq is Freeport! The service is always great and friendly and the food is consistently good. My favorite is the blueberry sauce with the wings and they always have creative themed cocktails. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Food was very fast to come out, and it was delicious. Waitress was friendly as well. Nice mood lighting and decor. Would recommend

Yelp
First let me say I do love good barbecue, live in Texas. The Carolinas and Virginia and some of my favorite meals have been served with beans and brisket and all of the other delicious accompaniments that you can get, there's nothing like it ! Now that said you really need to go over and see the folks at Bucks Naked BBQ. Jaron and DJ are usually there looking after their excellent crew and their wonderful customers. The Bucks Naked BBQ atmosphere was great! Lots of friendly people! Can't wait to go back! I especially loved the kicky little sauce with the burnt ends yum!!!

Yelp
Me and my husband and adult daughter had lunch here and really liked it! The service was excellent and fast. HUGE portions so splitting is recommended. We had the pulled pork and it was really good. I tried all of the sauces and liked them. No spicey option though, which I would like.

Yelp
My husband and I had dinner here last Sunday about 5:30-6:00pm. The first thing we noticed was that there weren't many people eating there for a summer weekend. Admittedly, we haven't eaten here in many years but decided it was time to try this BBQ place again. I ordered the Pit Chicken Plate ($20) with coleslaw and beans and it comes with cornbread. It is described as "lemon herb brined 1/2 chicken, smoked to perfection." My husband ordered the pulled pork sandwich. When our food came out in about 5 minutes, I thought that was way too fast and ask the waitress about that. She said the meats are smoked overnight the night before (leading us to believe that the majority of the cooking had been done already). Well the result was my chicken was very, very dry. The skin wasn't crispy and everything was lukewarm at most. The beans weren't hot and the cornbread was dense and very sweet. Coleslaw, pretty good. The pulled pork on the sandwich was also dry and not hot. The bun wasn't toasted so the bottom of it came apart after the first couple of bites. When asked how everything was, I told the waitress about the dry chicken, including the dark meat. She offered me something else from the menu but I didn't take her up on it. When the bill came, much to her credit, she said the manager took my dinner off the bill. My husband didn't speak up about his disappointment with the sandwich to the waitress. One might have thought the manager would have come out to talk to us about what we didn't like about the meal. Oh well... In reading some other reviews, it would seem that the roasted chicken should have been put back on a grill to heat up and crisp the skin as others described theirs. Warm sides like beans and pulled pork should be warm or hot and rolls toasted. Unfortunately, there's nothing remarkable about Buck's.

Yelp
I absolutely love this place! However, we sat at the bar and the bartender was annoyed that we were there. I overheard her telling other patrons that it was dead all day and she just wanted to go home. I was on a first date and she was reluctant to serve me drinks. She even asked if I was "okay" which really bothered the both of us. We spent a lot of money just to eat and drink together. Seems very unprofessional and down right disrespectful. We decided to check out the bar downstairs and the owner/bartender was the absolute best. She made us laugh and feel comfortable. Lisa, you are the absolute best! But, I will not sit at the bar upstairs again with that woman behind the bar. I would rather give my money to someone that actually works for it. I've been a bartender and server for 12+ years. Her behavior was absolutely terrible. She talked trash about the place and how dead it was instead of actually focusing on her customers. Will not be back at that bar.

Yelp
YUM! Got a side of brisket, potato salad and collard greens. Brisket was great not dry but perfectly cooked and seasoned! The collard greens were exactly as I expected with a satisfying and flavorful broth. The potato salad was good as well. I was able to try some of the sausage and it was well smoked and delicious! It did take a minute for someone to greet us but we were well taken care of once seated. We were comfortable dusting our meal with sound level, room temperature and privacy. I would definitely recommend this restaurant!

Yelp
I have to say that the name of this restaurant was one thing that immediately grabbed my attention & my husband loves BBQ/smoked food. He was thrilled with his half rack of ribs. I had the wicked chicken sandwich; the piece of chicken was breaded nicely & it was massive! I think they use brioche buns. The atmosphere is fitting & our waitress was excellent.

Yelp
Not sure if I have had a bad plate here. There are two places in this state that are my favorite wings and this is one of them. They brine and slow smoke their wings then flash fry them, absolutely delicious. Other plates are great as well, Mac and cheese is good, homemade baked beans shitcha. Good beer selection and service is great, yes you Charles .

Yelp
One of my favorite BBQ places north of Portland. The staff is so friendly and professional. We have dined in several times over the past decade or so. We have also enjoyed takeout. And we've been to a wedding were they provided the catering. In each of those situations, the food is very very very good. Consistent in it's quality and flavors. We love the pulled pork and the ribs and the WINGS!!! The sides are ok too. We like their fries. If you are craving wings on the weekend, call ahead - they do tend to sell out because they are good. Both types of ribs are great. Baby Back and St. Louis - I recommend both. The portions are consistent when you eat in or take out and they are very plentiful. It can get crowed in the parking lot and inside during peak hours on the weekend, especially during the summer. I do recommend this place especially if you have a party of 5.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Maine. I've eaten here many times and I've always been more than satisfied. The service is great and the food is always great. Brisket heaven is how I would describe this place. I love the family theme and kids are welcome here. Five stars

Yelp
Came in excited to try their BBQ and left stuffed but a little underwhelmed. The BBQ for 2 platter was a showstopper of a plate that came with: pulled pork: my favorite protein on the plate; tender and not dry but felt it needed the side sauces for more flavor brisket: well seasoned but dry, given a lean piece so the portion wasn't fatty sausage: spicier than expected and salty with a good snap chicken: quartered leg piece was smokey and had a nice crusty skin but seasoned mildly baked beans: had a nice caramelized onion flavor coleslaw: crunchy but only mildly acidic cornbread: was clearly pre-cut enough to dry out along the sides; the most disappointing Overall it's a place to get BBQ without driving down to Portland. I would stick to their happy hour menu next time.

Yelp
Conveniently located on the corner just off 95 North. Needs some remodeling, the too soft booth seats make you feel like the table is at your chest. Ask for a table with chairs. Shared a Q2 which actually is enough food for 3 or more people. Meat choices included pulled pork, brisket, chicken, sausage and baby back ribs. It also included beans, corn bread, and potato salad. The Q arrives in a platter the size of my turkey platter. It's also served with BBQ sauce choices on the table which trend on the vinegar side. The blueberry sauce was a nice addition. Brisket was dry, pulled pork moist and good, ribs tasty and well smoked, chicken moist but lacking crispy skin, the sausage lacked flavor. There's a semi open kitchen but when you're sitting on one side, the kitchen is blocked by this sort of wall, which I really don't get. I've eaten here before and it reminds me of an old Ponderosa steak restaurant without the buffet, trying too hard to look rustic. Service was quick, the food just "meh".

Yelp
It was decent BBQ. My wife and I were hungry and ordered a combo platter (forgot it's name.) there was plenty of food and we brought back leftovers to our hotel for lunch. Nothing was bad but nothing stood out either with the exception of the corn bread. Mildly sweet and moist with a bit of a coarse texture just as we like it. We asked for some extra to take away.

Daniel P.

Yelp
The service was excellent, bbq was even better we had appetizers only ,the burnt ends were large medallions of perfect, no knife needed . The smoked chicken wings extra large were perfectly cooked .juices flowing southern bell and tia were perfect. Thank you for cooking .

Yelp
This was absolutely delicious . We had ribs , brisket and Cole slaw . We ordered take out

Yelp
Our most favorite place to eat in the state! Prices are excellent even in this trash economy. I personally love the fried chicken sandwich with the Blueberry BBQ sauce it is my go to. My husband loves the fried catfish... however we have never had a bad meal if we change it up.
google avatar

Carolyn A.

Yelp
I have to admit I didn't expect much from BBQ in Maine. But I was wrong. I sat at the bar and all the guys gave me their recommendations. The half rack mixed ribs and brisket was great. Super tender, flavorful, and enough with baked potato and cole slaw for one or two more leftover meals. I would especially recommend the brisket. Spicy is not an option here, so just go with it. Two sweet bbq sauce options , plus a mustard-y option, were available on the table. Burgers coming out looked great tho I didn't eat one. Coleslaw was classic NE. Fresh and not overdressed. Decent local beer selection, and my cocktail was exactly as I ordered it. Give it a try, I'd say.

Yelp
The swollen crimson flesh is glistening, begging to enter my mouth. So slick with juices that slide down, coating, begging me to suck them clean off the surface. I'm admiring, worshipping, this beautiful specimen before me. I am enraptured. I am subservient. Tonight, you are mine to swallow, and I am but a slave to the delicacy of sensation. And as you are placed on my tongue, I melt into your warmth, tasting the salt that ripples along my buds. My eyes are closing, god yes, please. I need more of you. Your texture, so plumpy tender and yet stiffly formed, draws me into a web of pleasure. Right now, you own me. There it is. The thick, cream coloured sauce, spilling in my cavern. Mixing with your flesh. Dripping down my throat. Seductive, powerful, acidic and yet without too much of a sharp tang. It contrasts so beautifully with your natural juices. And as my knife drives once again into your body, I'm here in this moment, with you, My seductive medium-rare rump steak with béarnaise sauce

Makenna H.

Yelp
Bucks food is amazing! My husband and I have been there twice since moving to town and you can't beat the bbq. Servers are hardworking as well. The manager Jaron has THE best customer service and I appreciate all he did for my husband and I!

Yelp
We got the big buck combo as takeout to share at home. The meal includes a healthy serving of brisket, pulled pork, chicken, and sausage, as well as cornbread and two sides. We opted for mac and cheese and fried onion strings, both involving an upcharge as "jacked up" sides. The meat was all *amazing* - I thought it was all perfectly seasoned and cooked and a perfect portion size. We do have a good deal of leftovers, so I'm hoping it'll reheat well. But oh man, what a meal. Depending on who's dining and what your appetites are like, this is probably enough for 2-3 people. The sides were not as good in my opinion. The mac and cheese was somewhat tasteless, middle of the road, the fried onion strings were kind of limp (to be fair, this was a to-go order, so they likely steamed in the container on the way home), and the cornbread was very mediocre. But you're there for the meat, right?

Yelp
Looking for BBQ this is the right place But We have eaten here before and the food is the same Ordered a combo plate Chicken way over cooked and very dry Pulled pork ok Burned ends very good Service is scarce I give it a so so rating
google avatar

John R.

Yelp
Food was good. Pulled pork was dry though. Brisket and chicken were great. Waitress was excellent! Would visit again. Want to try the baby back ribs next time. Love the building construction.

Mike C.

Yelp
Fast friendly service. Outstanding smoked meats and delicious sides. The decor is reminiscent of a southern smoke house restaurant. I have been going there for years and I highly recommend it.

Falia R.

Yelp
We have become regulars! Always exceeds expectations! Mac and cheese some of the most tasty! And the meat is always good! burnt ends yum! And the pulled pork, brisket and chicken never disappoint. Always come when we are in town! The wait staff is always nice as well.

Yelp
Went for a family birthday dinner on a Wednesday at about 630. Place was fairly loud, but we were also seated near the kids play area. Our waitress Whitney, was great. She made an extra effort to speak loudly for my grandfather who is pretty hard of hearing and has to wear hearing aids. So I appreciated the kindness as we normally have to order for him. Onto the food, no one at my table actually ordered BBQ which is probably a crime when you go to a BBQ place. The food we did order was pretty decent. Both my parents got their steak tip salad, which was huge and the steak was cooked pretty well. However the salad dressing was a balsamic vingarette was almost as thick as molasses which was a little gross. I got the Mac & cheese, which was huge and creamy. But it wasn't hot enough when it was brought to the table, maybe it had sat under the hotplate too long? Also it needed a little something extra on top, maybe some breadcrumbs to put it over the top. My grandfather got the fish and chips, I tried the fish absolutely insane. Not too heavy on the fry oil, and the fish itself was like the size of my head. Overall the food was good, they had a good beer selection and some craft cocktails that were reasonably priced. I think I would prefer to go back and sit at the bar rather than in the restaurant.
google avatar

Lance C.

Yelp
What a meal! Everyone enjoyed their meals. We got brisket, pulled pork, smoked chicken, sausage, cheeseburger and fried pickles. Everyone shared except my dad and his chicken sandwich. Said it was the best chicken sandwich he has ever had. My favorite was the brisket and the pickles, so good. Can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Bucks Naked BBQ offers a good selection of menu items from tasty snacks & apps, to award-winning BBQ to your tradition style BBQ sandwiches and specialty drinks. The outside has a wooded log style lodge type feel. The interior is an open concept with high ceiling and exposed roof-truss. The staff is very friendly and they welcome you with a smile. I feel small things like that play a big part in how I am going to enjoy my time at their establishment. They have a great selection of beers on tap, bottle and some speciality drinks that look good, but I stuck to my bottled beer, in this case shipyard pumpkin ale. I ordered the Big Buck Combo and the name speaks for itself as they put a large oval plate in front of my containing: sliced brisket, pulled pork, pit chicken and sausage. I chose baked beans and coleslaw for my two sides. The pulled pork had great flavor, but was a bit on the dry side so I added some of their JuJu sauce and that hit the spot flavor wise. The pit chicken was slightly dry on the outside, but once inside the chicken was quite moist. The chicken skin though was not crispy, which was disappointing, but I still enjoyed the overall flavor and the dry rub they used. The smoked sausage had the best overall flavor and had a nice snap to the casing when you bit into it. The baked beans were really good and I enjoyed the coleslaw and cornbread. I couldn't tell if the pickles were house-made, but they were a great compliment to the overall dish. Under the chicken, in my picture, were 3 slices of brisket. The brisket had a nice smokey flavor and the fat they left on it melted in your mouth. They could have done a better job trimming the fat, but I do recognize that fat does add flavor to any meat. Overall I enjoyed my meal and definitely took half of it home with me. I would come back again, but likely try other items to gauge where I feel their strongpoint is as it relates to their BBQ selections. They earn 4 stars from me, but not yet reached that point flavor wise where they would get my 5th star.
google avatar

Jennifer C.

Yelp
Can't give a rating because they were no longer accepting customers about 2 hours before closing as they were running out of food. BUT I called prior to heading over to see if I needed a reservation. I was told I did not. So I headed over and 10 mins later was told they were closing early. I guess in the 10 mins it took me to drive over they ran out of food

Yelp
Friend suggested we come here for lunch. What a great idea! My steak tip salad was delicious. Reportedly the burnt ends and Cole slaw were equally good. Quick service. Good atmosphere. Great food. Fair price. What more could we ask for?

Yelp
This is PHENOMENAL!! The service was so quick!!! I love bbq. So this will definitely be a favorite.

Yelp
Wow! As a larger fellow I have eaten a lot of BBQ in my life. When I came to Freeport, ME I expected to find great seafood. This was probably the last place I expected to find world class BBQ. I believe I found it at Bucks Naked BBQ! This may have been the best brisket I have ever had. Mediocre brisket is pretty easy. I think most BBQ places are really good at mediocre brisket. Buck's is amazing! It's tender, flavorful, and delicious. It doesn't even need BBQ sauce, but the sauces just add to the flavor! We got the "Q for the fam" plate. The ribs fell off the bone. The pulled pork was perfect. The baked beans and the Mac & cheese were great sides. Erica was our server. She did a FANTASTIC job! She answered all of our questions & kept the drinks full! If you want world class BBQ make sure you stop by Bucks Naked BBQ!
google avatar

Kurtis K.

Yelp
Bucks Naked BBQ left me with a smile on face and a full belly. The salads are worth the money and the portions are huge. The smokiness is rather mild which I also found pleasant on the smoked chicken. Sitting in the bar area, I got to take advantage of a decent happy hour and good company. The staff was very friendly and found time to strike up a conversation with a wary traveler which I appreciate. So if you are looking for a beer and some Q in Freeport, put this place on your list! Thanks Bucks Naked Crew for the wonderful experience (two times now)!

Yelp
I ordered off the kid's menu today sirloin steak medium rare and juicy corn. It was so! Juicy and fantastic tasting i give it a 9.5/10 . And the service is great it was so fast and good. Ambiance was so good to everyone was happy and so nice and kind to use so we did the same right back at them

Yelp
Stopped here on a road trip , glad we did ! The brisket and ribs were so smoky and tender. The nice guy at the bar helped us order to accommodate our keto diet with some extra salads (home made ranch dressing) with our combo plate. The coleslaw was excellent. The price was reasonable for what you got. Two different people asked how our meal was, and asked if we needed anything. Great place in our book!
google avatar

Krista L.

Yelp
Sassy waitress?? Check! Did she lift me up when I order my fries loaded? Yassss queen! Was my catfish, fries and Mac n cheese perfect? Absolutely! Was I chastised for ordering all the sauces? No I was praised! End result... I'll be back. My catfish was fresh and delicious with the perfect fry. My fries there and the day after (heated in the Oven) were even better the second time. Did the Mac n cheese fill my cheesy needs? Yes! Everyone there was friendly but was not afraid to let their personality shine. It made me feel at home. Thank you for the great food and amazing service. If this rating was just food I'd keep it at 4 stars (salvage has a depth to it that so hard to recreate). It the service and atmosphere made it a place I would come back to over and over again!

Yelp
I once write a scathing review about the now closed Bucks in the old port, so I was skeptical about trying this one. I'm so glad I did!! My son and I went together one evening or dinner and had a great experience. We had quick service and the server was very knowledgeable. We ordered an appetizer or poutine, so good! We then shared the Bucket entree! So worth it! We are out full of delicious, tender barbecue and had plenty to take home and each have another meal. We did order a couple of extra sides, but the prices were great, so it didn't break the bank. We will for sure go back!
google avatar

Susan B.

Yelp
Food is plentiful!!! Asked for an order of fries and asked for them loaded - no problem- bacon and scallions and loads of cheese!!! Had to try the catfish strips and it did not disappoint!!! There were 4 of us and we ordered the Q for 2- So much food!!! Chicken was tender- pilled pork- yum!!! Brisket had nice burnt end!! Pickles are thick and cold and the potato salad and beans were not to be missed!!! Oh and the cornbread- oh my so flavorful!! We had leftovers!! We sat outside which was so nice- there is a tent to provide shade as well as patio tables with umbrella's- Service was great-

Yelp
Delicious pulled pork, amazing wings, and surprisingly great French fries! And always friendly staff!

Yelp
Went for a pick up and not only was it delicious but extremely affordable! The meals are very filling and portions are fairly large. The pulled pork was tender and juicy! The beans were super sweet! The corn was plain but fresh. The mac and cheese was well loved by the kids! 4out of 5 due to the fact that portion size for adult meal is pretty similar to kids meal but worth more ! With kids meals you get a drink , side, and dessert!

Yelp
Being from NC, had to check out the BBQ in Maine. Well, I'm not completely disappointed. The brisket was tender the "NC" inspired BBQ sauce was delightful. The fries were Amazing! Our waitress very nice, full of personality and the atmosphere was great. I would visit again, but not for the BBQ

Yelp
I am stationed near Portland and this is near Freeport, so getting takeout is a drive, but the *meats* have proven worth the drive and certainly a worthwhile stop if you are out already. With 2 kids and a spouse in tow, we have gotten the family meal (or bucket?) which offers 4 meats plus sides, on a couple occasions. While I don't much care for the included/offered sauces, my wife says they are mostly acceptable or ok. (I know they sell them in bottles so people must agree.) Our shared view seems to be the only let down was the chicken. While tasty, it wasn't all we felt it could be. *That's it regarding the meat!* We agree the brisket is delicious and the pork as well. I was not a fan of the sausage, but my wife found it very tasty. As for the sides... We found those more "feh" in general and the upcharge for the ones we had like mac & chesse was **in our shared view** wholly not worth the cost. It tasted fine, not offensive or bad, not a strong or bad flavour, plenty of cheese....but such a tiny portion for a shocking cost and not tasty enough to justify itself. The included cornbread was very middle of the road and again only ok because it was included. We will be back because there are things we really do like, but not enough to go well out of our way.

Yelp
If 3.5 was an option, I think that's pretty fair. But good enough to round up to 4. We had the cue for 2 and the cue for 4 two weeks later. Everything is tasty! And based on the BBQ options in the area, probably the best. The pulled pork and the brisket were best. As far as a side, the baked beans are really great. We did take out both times and they forgot items both times. That being said, we keep going back. Just check your bag before you leave! Fool me twice, shame on me...
