I visited Buda Castle in July with my friend, and it was truly an awesome experience. We reached the Castle District using the historic funicular tram, which itself is a memorable attraction. The short ride offers beautiful views of the Danube and the city, a perfect way to start the visit. The castle area is huge, and walking through the grounds feels like stepping into centuries of European history. The views from the hilltop are absolutely amazing, especially overlooking the river, bridges, and the city skyline. Even though parts of the castle were under renovation during my visit, the grandeur and elegance of the place were still clearly visible. Historically, Buda Castle dates back to the 13th century, when a fortress was built after the Mongol invasion to protect the city. Over the centuries it evolved into a royal palace, serving Hungarian kings and later being rebuilt several times after wars and destruction, including major damage during World War II. Today it forms part of Budapest’s UNESCO World Heritage landscape and houses important museums and cultural institutions. The combination of history, architecture, and breathtaking viewpoints makes Buda Castle a must-visit attraction in Budapest. I highly recommend taking your time here. it’s not just a landmark but an experience that lets you feel the spirit of the city.

Budapest Castle was one of the highlights of our trip, and we enjoyed it so much that we visited it twice—once at night and once again in the morning. Each visit felt like a completely different experience, and both were equally amazing. At night, the castle looks absolutely stunning. The lighting gives it a magical and dramatic atmosphere, and the views over the Danube and the illuminated Chain Bridge are breathtaking. Walking around the castle grounds in the evening felt peaceful and romantic, with fewer crowds and incredible photo opportunities. In the morning, the experience was just as great in a different way. The area felt lively and full of history, and we could really appreciate the architecture, details of the buildings, and the panoramic views in daylight. The scenery from Fisherman’s Bastion nearby and the surrounding streets made the visit even more special. It’s a perfect place to walk around, relax, and truly feel the history of Budapest. Whether you visit during the day or at night, Budapest Castle offers something unique and memorable. I highly recommend visiting it at least twice if you can—each time gives you a completely different and unforgettable perspective of the city.

Amazing place, which offers a great landview to the Danube, bridges, Parliament Building, boats. I visited the castle in the evening, such a pleasant simphony of warm lights! The Buda Castle îs impressive, with many architectural creations. We climbed to the castle by an old, but very efficient funicular. I liked it!

A wonderful place with magnificent paintings. There is a 50% student discount on the ticket. You can easily spend several hours here, and there are places inside the gallery where you can sit and rest. There is also a café-restaurant inside the gallery. However, the staff there can be quite rude to visitors and their level of English is rather poor.
