♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ Buddha Jayanti Park, nestled within the Central Ridge Forest of Delhi, is a serene oasis known for its tranquil ambiance and rich natural beauty. The park was established to commemorate the 2,500th birth anniversary of Lord Buddha's enlightenment and features a blend of natural and architectural elements. Key features of the park include: Golden Buddha Statue: The park's centerpiece is a large, gilded statue of Lord Buddha in a meditative posture, which is installed on an artificial island within a waterway system. This statue was dedicated by the 14th Dalai Lama in 1993 and is a major attraction. Sacred Bodhi Tree Sapling: A sapling of the original sacred Peepal (Ficus religiosa) Bodhi tree, under which Lord Buddha is believed to have attained enlightenment, was brought from Sri Lanka and planted here in 1964 by then Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri. Lush Greenery and Diverse Flora: Spanning a large area, the park features expansive, well-maintained lawns, gardens, and numerous indigenous and exotic trees like Amaltas, Gulmohar, Peepal, and various species of palms and cactus. The vibrant yellow Amaltas blooms in spring (April-June) are a visual highlight. Water Bodies and Streams: Calm water bodies and meandering streams flow through the park, enhancing the peaceful atmosphere and attracting various bird species. Birdwatching: The rich flora attracts a variety of local birds, including lapwings, kingfishers, barbets, parakeets, herons, and peacocks, making it an excellent spot for birdwatching enthusiasts. Walking and Jogging Paths: Well-maintained walking and jogging tracks wind through the park, providing an ideal environment for morning walks, exercise, and leisurely strolls amidst nature. Picnic Areas and Seating: The park offers ample open spaces, benches, and designated areas for picnics, relaxation, yoga, and meditation. Peaceful Ambiance: Known as a tranquil oasis in the heart of the bustling city, the park provides a serene escape ideal for reflection and rejuvenation. Visitor Facilities: Amenities include public restrooms, scattered dustbins, and a cafe near one of the gates for refreshments. Festivals: The park is a central location for the annual Buddha Jayanti festival celebrations in May. The park is generally open daily from early morning until sunset (e.g., 5:00 AM to 7:00 PM) and has no entry fee. Plenty of parking space available. One restaurant is also available midst of park.

Buddha Jayanti Park is one of the most peaceful and scenic parks in Delhi, perfect for nature lovers, morning walkers, and families looking for a calm retreat. The park is beautifully landscaped with lush greenery, tall trees, and open lawns that make it ideal for picnics or quiet relaxation. Inside, there’s the famous Buddha Temple, which adds to the spiritual vibe — though the glass around the statue could use some cleaning as it’s quite foggy. The walking paths are wide and well maintained, and the park feels safe during the day. However, it can get a bit deserted in the late evening, so it’s better to visit before sunset. Overall, it’s a clean, green, and refreshing escape in the heart of the city.

🌼 An Absolute Gem – Buddha Jayanti Park, Delhi 🌼 If you want peace, beauty & nature in the heart of Delhi – this is it! Located between Karol Bagh & Dhaula Kuan, this hidden treasure blooms like a fairy tale during Amaltas season (April–June) when the whole park turns yellow! 💛✨ 🧘‍♂️ There’s a Bodhi Tree, a serene Lord Buddha idol, water bodies with birds 🦆, and vibrant flowers everywhere. Perfect for meditation, morning walks, or quiet time with nature. It’s Delhi’s most underrated green zone. 🌿 📍 Location: Vande Mataram Marg, Delhi Ridge 🎟️ Entry Fee: FREE 🕐 Timings: 5:00 AM – 7:00 PM (Open all 7 days) 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Less crowded on weekdays. Mostly peaceful couples or walkers. 🚇 How to Reach: ➡️ Nearest Metro: Dhaula Kuan (Airport Express Line) ➡️ From Metro: Take Auto or E-rickshaw (₹50–₹100) – 5–10 mins ➡️ Some buses pass nearby but don’t stop exactly at the park gate. 🚗 Private car or cab is also convenient (limited parking available). ✨ Best Time to Visit: 🌅 Early morning – especially during Amaltas bloom season (April to June) 📸 A perfect spot for photographers, nature lovers & those seeking calm. 💬 Highly recommended if you want to escape the city chaos without leaving the city! Save it on your map and visit soon 🌳🙏

Located on the Delhi Ridge between Karol Bagh and Dhaula Kuan, access is limited to private vehicles, autism, cabs etc. I did see a couple of buses passing by,but they don't stop anywhere near this Park. The place is without doubt, green and beautiful with seasonal flowers adding colour to the park. The park occupies a large area. There is a 'Bodhi Tree' and a Lord Buddha idol. There are some water bodies with some water fowl, and colourful flowers . Entry is free, but since it is a difficult spot to reach, families are few and probably visit on weekends. Most of the time one is likely to stumble upon a courting couple in different stages of intimacy.
