Me and my husband love this place! We always look forward to lunch/dinner whenever we are in Launceston. The staff are friendly, the food comes out quick and delicious, and there are vegetarian options.

We ordered lunch menu and the food portion was just nice. However, tom yum soup was pricey as it came as a small bowl. Wished that it could be spicier with more ingredients in it! Otherwise, it is still a great place for Thai food.

Absolutely bursting with flavour in every dish ordered. So fast to prepare and deliver. Always on point. Ordered red duck curry with coconut rice, Pad Thai with prawns and chicken and curry puffs for entree. All very tasty and reasonably priced too. A go to always when in Launceston.

Quick service, good food, friendly staff. BYO drinks, which we didn’t know beforehand :’) Apple juice in the shop is freshly squeezed to order

I had the pleasure of dining at Buddha Thai on New Year's day, a time when most places are closed, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience. The fact that they were open was already a plus, but what truly set them apart was their incredible willingness to accommodate dietary preferences. As a vegan, I often find it challenging to dine out, especially on holidays, but they went above and beyond. The staff suggested various modifications to their traditional dishes, ensuring that I could enjoy a delicious meal without compromising my dietary choices. The service was prompt and attentive, adding to the overall positive dining experience.

On holiday, looking for an early dinner, they found space for our family (2+2) despite being booked out later. Terrific fresh food and friendly service, we went back again the next night too!!

Ordered 2 dishes for takeaway, one was a stir fry and the other a curry. The curries were much more expensive than any other dish on the menu, however, they came in a box half the size. Not much value for money either since the curry only had 3-4 small pieces of meat and the rest was just filled with potatoes and sauce. The same for the stir fry, you only get 3-4 pieces of meat and the rest is just beans and broccoli. Wouldn’t eat here again as the food portions were very small based on the price, the waiting times were long, and the service was poor.

Yelp
I had laksa which was amazing. Couldn't have asked for anything better on a chilly and rainy afternoon. The restaurant was just about to close after lunch, but they were happy to serve us. Would love to go back but we were just in holiday!

Yelp
Yes! That's what you should say when somebody suggests to eat here for lunch. It was a beautiful day so I could sit outside and being summer meant Som Tum was on the special menu (not on the paper menu). What a treat. I had to ask for real spice and they delivered. This Green Papaya Salad camee topped with 3 delicious prawns. I've just ordered more food! I hope I can come back here... Friendly staff, great prices and well presented, delicious food.

Yelp
Buddha Cafe is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and until recently I'd only ever been here for breakfast. It's a cosy little spot opposite Princes Square. For breakfast they do standards with a thai twist - french toast with bacon and tamarind sauce, chicken satay on toast, thai-style omelette, bacon and egg roll with homemade chilli jam... All delicious and a little bit different. And the coffee is excellent. Lunch and dinner is more standard thai fare. Really delicious food and wonderful coconut rice. The lychee frappe drink is freshly blended and totally worthwhile. Service is quick and friendly, and the food comes out promptly and piping hot. It's not a big space, and it's pretty busy on a Saturday night, so it could be a good idea to either get in early or book a table at peak times.

Yelp
Came here for the first time recently for an evening meal. Was jam packed with people and we were lucky to get a table. Squishy, but cosy. Gorgeous old building. Nice interior design. The food here was delicious. Fresh ingredients. Well put together and presented. I ate a satay tofu dish, name escapes me sorry. Hubby had a ginger red meat stir fry. Both where of high quality and we couldn't fault. The cold Thai milk tea was something new to try, quite sweet, but tasty. The meal sizes where not big, so perhaps an entree in addition would fill the belly if you are super hungry. Service was fast and efficient. Not super friendly, but not rude in any way. Easy city location if you are in the area. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Been here a couple of times and everything we've had was amazing. Small and cozy and the food is to die for. Duck red curry and chicken wings are amazing, as are the satay skewers and spring rolls! Will be back again soon!
