I understand that everyone is looking for different kind of housing, but this one turned out to be an absolute disaster for me. My bad - I didn’t know what Khaosan was, but having read all the positive reviews, I thought that it’s a great place to spend a few nights in, maybe just A LITTLE BIT noisy outside. Oh dear, I had never been so mistaken.
Firstly, you get dropped off right in the middle of Khaosan before the restaurant. There is no lobby and you have to cross the named restaurant in order to understand where you are supposed to go. There were a few guards who I asked about the hotel and they helped me with the bags. After that, I had a nice experience at the reception, so the staff is nice and friendly, overall.
The room was OK; it was clean enough (not clean-clean) and not too worn out, the only problem I faced was a dead safe, but they changed it after my request.
But here we come to the main point: sleep. You just can’t expect to sleep in this hotel due to the fact that this building includes a bar that’s blasting music like crazy until 3 AM and that on the other side it’s Khaosan where music and people are even louder. I think if you come here determined to sleep after 3-4 AM then it’s fine, but if you want to fall asleep before that time, you just won’t be able to do it.
