Buddy's Place

Had stopped at white owl antique mall in Mount pleasant. Yelped for a nearby restaurant and found Buddy's. So glad we went. My wife had the BLT, our friend had a hot dog, and I had the stuffed pepper, a blackboard special. We all really liked our meals. The stuffed pepper was delicious - the pepper shell soft and flavorful, the meat, rice and tomato sauce filling hearty and very tasty. We shared a jalapeno popper appetizer, which was super, crunchy outside with melty cheddar and the kick of the jalapeno. I look forward to visiting Buddy's again when nearby to try some of the other menu items, and breakfast!

This was our second time here. There was one small issue with my husband's food that they fixed with no problem. Everything was delicious! The service was great as well..our server was super nice, as was the young man that brought our order out. Thank you to everyone for being very understanding and going above and beyond. If you haven't tried this place you need to...the mac and cheese will not disappoint and the unsweetened tea is some of the best out there.

I tried the Greek Burger with cucumber, tomato, feta cheese and lettuce with a side of fries. My husband had the pita burger and fries. The tzatziki sauce was great! The fried tasted amazing, were fresh and crispy. The waiter was polite and very attentive. We will be back!

Stopped in on a whim, As a reference from a friend And at first we weren't sure because at 2 o'clock. They're literally wasn't a single person in it, To which I actually questioned the waitress. Thirty minutes later there was a dozen or more people That had come in. Displace is very large it's clean it has a lot of seating, The waitresses were very nice, ours in particular was super Sweet and understanding as I have an egg allergy, So we had to discuss some stuff before I could order.. I endured getting a Patty melt with 2 cheese's and grilled onions on grilled rye And I have to be honest, Although it didn't look like something gordon ramsey made, It absolutely was the best tasting Patty melt I've had in twenty odd states that i've been in, And my wife's gyro was absolutely delicious... She also got the pumpkin cheesecake. And I had the apple pie both of which were fantastic so highly recommend

We stopped in after shopping at White Owl, and we so glad we did! If you love fried chicken, then you have to stop in here! We got the 1/4 white meat fried chicken. It was cooked right then, hot, fresh and so crispy it could make you cry. Very rarely can you find fresh, juicy, crispy fried chicken and this place delivers! We will definitely be back!

We have eating at Buddy's for years.our 2 grandsons usually meet us there. The service is good and the staff is friendly. I love their Philly Cheese Steak. It is the best any where around. I have tried them all. My husband says the fish is better there than when we went to a Fish House. The onion rings are like the old fashioned one. The servings sizes are large. Prices are better than other restaurants in this area. 🥰

Some of the best wings I have eaten!! There is always a guy named Chandler there and he’s always so friendly and kind. The garlic parm was his recommendation and 🤯. Good job crew, keep making good food and having nice people there.

Third time coming in the last month and I’m consistently disappointed. Food is way too expensive for the quality. Portions are plentiful but soaked in grease not very tasty. Most recent purchase was the gyro and it couldn’t be further from it. Unfortunately I believe the lack of options in the area allow the three local restaurants to charge way too much.

Food and service was excellent. Our waitress Tabitha was a hoot. I generally shy away from breakfast food but this was pretty darn good. They even have Mt Dew which is always a plus for me. We will be back

Huge portions. Delicious food. Great service. What more could you ask for? The chicken livers with white rice and lima beans is my favorite meal !

A bit of the past, except the prices. My order was quickly prepared and served. Place is a little loud but overall a nice place. Service was great and quick. Clean.

The food was off the chain and the service was great they will keep your tea glass full I had never asked she kept it coming during my meal and after as we was sitting around talking I can't wait to get back on that side of the county stop in and get some good food and the best service also the prices are well in line for today's market and they feed you plenty food on the plate the restaurant sitting inside is great everything on the wall or ceilings has a story and most of it is for sale great people own and operate this great restaurant called Buddy's Place

Loved Buddy's Place!! Recommend: Without question! Place was on a Main Street corner, somewhat simple as a business front but don't let that fool you! Unique, eclectic interior, and quick to be seated. Menu was FILLED with options, super friendly service, meals were quick, perfect and delicious with zero issues on all four orders. To boot, the taste on all food was above par, and satisfying to my entire party. Absolutely stop in, nothing at all to note negatively, this is a down to earth, awesome restaurant that won't break your bank!

Food is great service though isn't the best but still I go there a lot of times very much recommend it to people in the area you won't be mad.

Our first time here. Parking is an issue for sure. Food wise, mine was great. But the onion rings had zero flavor and didn't taste fully cooked. My wife had chicken and dumplins and it wasn't good at all. Her mashed potatoes weren't good either. They tasted like they were made days ago and just warmed back up. Our waitress was really good, super friendly and helpful. I'd go back for the same meal but that's it. They have way too much on their menu. I don't see how this small place can handle that much food.

Interesting decor. Seat yourself. Service was a little slow at first and they would probably benefit from a hostess to help with that. But once we were recognized as sitting and waiting, the service was great. The food was plentiful and very tasty. Some of the best calabash shrimp at a non-seafood restaurant I have had. Cornbread and hush puppies were good and sweet. Even the fried squash was pretty good. If it were thinner it would have been perfect. A great meal and nice experience overall.

Located on the corner of a busy intersection, I stopped for a late lunch at this place while passing through. A small town with good country cookin was what I was looking for. They were not real busy when I was there, but there were many tables of various sizes. The place is huge inside. I loved the decor....really nice country vibe with a few "antiques" around. A waitress came and we talked briefly and she answered my questions and was helpful. The menu is huge...some of everything, including seafood, which surprised me. I ordered the chuckwagon dinner with brown gravy expecting a country fried steak with gravy. I also got fried squash and collards. The meat was a frozen breaded patty with canned gravy. There were two pieces, but I didnt eat it all. Just not what I expected at all. The squash was not cooked long enough. The breading was soft and squishy and just not cooked, so I fished the squash out and at that part and left the breading. It was from a frozen bag too. Ah, but the collards were good and cooked well and the tea was good. No one came back to check on me or I would have sent the squash back to be cooked. I had to ask for a tea to go at the counter where you go to pay the bill. A neat place....maybe I just ordered the wrong things, but dont think I will stop again.

Best seafood around! Great service at very reasonable prices. Menu has something for everyone.

Great food, great service, great prices! Great local establishment! Mac and cheese is delicious, I had country fried steak, husband had seafood.

Walked in about 2:45 on a Saturday. Not too busy. Sat down and waited for almost 15 minutes and nobody acknowledged me despite having walked past me to other tables. So I've taken my business across to the smokehouse.

Food was good but very disappointed in the environment. At least 7 tables needed to be cleared, floor was very dirty. Waitresses were having to clean their own tables making service slow. I don't like eating with dirty tables surrounding me and food on floor that people can slip and fall.

We have visited this restaurant twice now. Once for Dinner and once for Breakfast. Service was great both times. Wait time quick. Good food and really great portions. We recommend this restaurant highly.

The food is disgusting and undercooked, people only like this place because it's been around for awhile.

"I will never eat here ever again and every person I talk to will know how disgusting it is. The things I heard come from the kitchen was DISGUSTING the older man in the kitchen I don't know if he is the owner or what but he has a gray scruffy beard and he is SICK. God bless the young girls that work there who knows what he says to them. I would highly recommend to parents if your daughter is working there to make them leave immediately."

Went out to lunch with my brother, and the customer service was great. The food was delicious and we will definitely go back.

Food is pretty good the biggest issue is parking it's very hard to find a place to park any night after 6 pm without walking a great distance. Dining inside is very loud

Food was good .. didn't care for the mashed baked potatoes with gravy. need to work on mashed potatoes... Smokehouse and 73 and Main have really great mashed potatoes. along with the Krispy Chicken.

We got the gyro plate, Greek salad and fried clams. Sides: French fries, hush puppies, Mac and cheese and Cole slaw. Hole in the wall diner with an eclectic menu of mainly fried food and a few Greek items. I think the gyro meat is pre made bought from the store and the fries are crinkle frozen fries. The fried clams are definitely from freezer to fryer already battered. Typical southern plate of brown.

I got the gyro plate during the lunch hour as I was told that was what the family that owns the place specializes in. It DID NOT DISAPPOINT! It was delicious cooked with the right amount of char on the gyros and the fries were perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The waitress was very attentive and always refilled my water and the rest of the table's. Apparently they're known for their fried pickles and fried vegetables in general and many others approve of it! I'm not an expert on deep fried veggies as I try not to eat too much oily foods but all the locals says its the best in the area ^_^

Some of the best sweet tea in the area. This place has amazing food. Definitely will be back with my family.

Buddy's Place has amazing food at a great price if you are looking for something quick and easy. My husband and I eat there at least once a week and we love the food and the people. Most of the servers know our food order by heart. Their breakfast is amazing as well and they have daily food specials. I definitely recommend this place to anyone.

I am definitely a fan! I go here with my family. The décor could use an upgrade but overall it gets the job done! The steak is amazing, gyro is fabulous. I love the fried pickles!

I've never been disappointed in the food, service, or cleanliness. A large selection of sides, and the ability to swap unhealthy sides (like fries) with a better alternative is a good one for me and my family.

Good, down to earth home cooking. We've had dinner and breakfast here several times. We are new to the area and this is a great "regulars' place". I am not a big breakfast person, but I'll eat their breakfast anytime.

We travel through Mount Pleasant quiet often to see our grandchildren.And our son and his wife to.We've been in 73 & Main.We've been in What-a-Burger.Like them all.This past Sunday we hit Buddy's Place.We got there after one so the Sunday lunch crowd was winding down.Once in the door it was seat yourself.My wife looked a the special's on the board just as you came in trying to get an idea of some food.Our waitress was quick on the spot with our drink order.The menus were on the table.Buddy's offers anything from seafood to burgers and subs,salads.A kids menu to.Being Sunday It was fried chicken for me and my wife.You could get a quarter or half of bird.Sometime you go out on a limb thinking I eat half BBQ chicken so I opted for the half with two sides,Which was green beans and collards with corn bread.My wife chose 1/4 white meat and mashed potatoes with gravy and Lima beans.Our wait was a little slow.We asked before placing our order would the chicken have to be cooked and our waitress assured us all was ready.while waiting we both started looking at what other guest where eating.We saw baked spaghetti with salad.Some good looking flounder came to the table across from us.My next trip will be seafood,It looked good.When our food arrived I saw this look on my wife's face.Those Chicken breast with wing on where some kinda Big.And I had two of them.She was like me thinking it would be breast wing thigh leg.Nope. She will automatically say we can get a box.I'm thinking it's on,we eating chicken today.We both sorta wondering if it was dipped in butter milk.It had a really nice crust.Other than my cornbread being dry,Our meal was great.We both loved our yard bird.The vegetables we both chose had just the right amount of seasoning that even I did not use salt or pepper.As We where finished up and leaving I noticed bowl's on the tables with butter land creamer.Our waitress never really came by enough for us to ask for the butter.We'll live.For all the food on our table the tab was a hint over 17 bucks which not bad at all.On our trip back through she made a comment she enjoyed her meal and that we should plan on stopping again soon.

Buddy's has went down hill greatly in customer service. The food is still good but expect to wait a long time for it and your order to be wrong. I use to eat there at least once a week and had a bad experience there yesterday waiting for someone to come to our table for dinner service. I finally went up and told a lady (Michelle) and she had someone come to me. I visited this morning for breakfast and had the same problem, as I was waiting two more couples came in after me and was served first. The waiter finally came over and took our order. I ordered 2 specials for me and my two kids. The food finally came out and I was surprised to see one of the orders was left off. They brought out the other order and new ticket fast. They still left off one of the kids drink but I didn't say anything till I went to pay for my food. I would have said something before but the waiter never came back. I told Michelle about the experience I had that morning and the evening before. She got offended and accused me of calling the health department on her and putting her business down on Facebook. I replied back that that was false and I only promoted her business in a good way in the past on Yelp until now. She then took off one of the kids drinks off the final bill. Everyone has a bad day but you'd think after a loyal customer comes in as often as I did you'd handle things a little better. I've eaten there for years with no animosity towards Buddy's nor have I complained but I can't say I'll eat there again.

This restaurant has excellent breakfast prices including your coffee or tea. Also, if you leave hungry from any meal there, it's your fault! Great hostesses and owners. I eat there at least 2 times a week. Ruth B.

A local eatery with an eclectic menu, encompassing all American favorites and Greek specialties. Prices are very low, food good, representing one of the best value propositions in Cabarrus Country. My favorite is the fish and chips. Crunchy light batter and lots of fish. My wife always needs a doggy bag. Knocked it down to 4 stars simply because this 'diner' establishment has jaded seating and tables. Needs a bit of a face lift. But if you're in a hurry and mainly interested in the food, this place is great!
