I booked the superior room because they state in booking.com that it has a balcony. When I arrived there and went up the long stairs, I found out there was no balcony. I asked for a refund and the receptionist's first response was that it wasn't their policy to do refunds. After talking to her manager she agreed on the refund. In the meantime she was extremely rude to me, wanted me to cancel without a written confirmation of the refund, etc. I have checked and they haven't corrected the false information since then. Summing up, dishonest and rude. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

- There is NO AC in any units. Do NOT stay here during the summer months. - There is NO LIFT available. If you're disabled, do NOT stay here. - I wasn't able to sleep during my stay due to a large group of people making noise until 3am (!). The greedy management doesn't care and didn't even offer me a decent compensation. - The noise insulation is terrible. You can hear every squeek and step by other guests. Which is especially lovely during the night with a ton of drunken guests staggering about. There are much better hotels to stay at in Antwerp with proper, modern facilities.

I liked this nice and cosy hotel in the city very much, which is in walking distance to all Antwerp city centre venues, museums and restaurants and the riverside. Impressive art nouveau (ca. 1900!) reception and breakfast rooms which are under monumental protection (!) and must not be altered. Atmosphere so otherworldly! Much appreciated the delicious continental breakfast buffet, with music and candlelight. Looking forward to my next visit. Volker

Hotel I stayed here for just one night. It was the perfect stop over on a long journey. They were plenty of nice bars within a short walk. On my arrival, I was treated to a friendly reception and my room was warm, quiet and comfortable. I really enjoyed my visit. I’m sorry I did not have time to stay for breakfast . It smelt delicious!

I would definitely recommend the Rubenshof. The staff, Thierry, Linda and Kavi were terrific. Friendly, well-informed and so helpful. The hotel has Art Nouveau decor and so handsome to look at. And it's 5 minutes walk to the Fine Arts Museum which is full of treasures.

Im here to be honest. I stayed here for 2 days and it was one of the worst hotells i personally have stayed on. 1. The bed sheets where dirty and the pillows too. They had stains and smelled bad. 2. The room is just bad, all rooms are diffrent from what i have seen but the room i had on the second or 3rd floor was a disaster. I feelt very ill beacuse of a smell that was in the room that i cant describe. The shower and the toilet where seperated. The shower was in the middle of the room and the toilet is about 3meters long and 2 meters wide. its a very small toilet! Also the beds where VERY uncomfortable! We had 3 beds in our room where 1 was a doubble bed and we had 2 single beds. Feelt like sleeping on a smelly rock. Please start washing your pillows and sheets, if you are and they still smell i recommend you buy new sheets and pillows. The woman who worked there was very nice but the man working there was very sarcastic and rude. Sh to the girl for helping and being nice

I mean this hotel is basically perfect and I want to give it 5 stars (and will) but we did have some unfortunate things happen. For one entire evening we had no electricity and there is no staff after 18:00 so it took a while to get it fixed. We had some doors malfunctioning, including our own, that caused a lot of noise (alarms and beeping) throughout the blackout evening and the day after. Also we didn’t have any electricity in the bathroom for the entire stay after the initial blackout. That being said, the people running the hotel are very friendly, breakfast was good, our room was practically perfect (very spacious, comfy bed, nice bathroom if it had electricity) and just the overall vibe and aesthetics of the building are great. Location is a bit far from the city center (+- 30min walk) but you can use those extra steps to consume some extra calories guilt free and enjoy your stay even more. All in all, I want to recommend this hotel and give it a 10/10 and I feel that the reasons why I’m giving it a 8/10 are just a sequence of unlucky events (electricity issues and door alarms malfunctioning). Great place, go stay!

So the rooms definitely need a bit of upkeep, and it’s a bit too far away from the Antwerp Central Station. That being said, this is a perfectly charming hotel with a kind and knowledgeable staff. It also has a great view onto the street below. I’d say upkeep and possible renovation is necessary, but this place wins big for charm.
